Hey, me again. Please keep reviewing, and all that good stuff. Thankies!

The next morning, Kagome awoke to a pair of arms wrapped tightly around her, clawed hands resting on her stomach. She took a deep breath, and felt the demon behind her move.

"Kagome!" A high voice called. Kagome was instantly awake, and sat up with a quiet gasp. Her little brother… what if he saw them? What would her mother say?

"Um! Let me get dressed, and I will be down in a minute…" Kagome called, trying to untangle herself from the youkai who seemed to not want to let go.

"You're not dressed?" Came the amused voice of the sliver haired demon as he rolled on to his back, and stretched languidly his eyes cracking open. "Huh…"

"Don't get any idea's you hentai…" Kagome poked him in the chest, and pulled away quickly, standing up. "You better leave, or mom'll have a fit."

Kagome sighed, and heard him move off the bed. "I'll see you later. I promise…" he murmured, dragging his tongue up her neck, to her jaw affectionately, and then nipping at her at her pulse point, before opening the window, and jumping out. Kagome set a hand on her chest, her throat constricting as she fought to regain control of her traitorous body.

Almost a week later, Kagome still had not heard from Inuyasha, or Shippo. She sat at the table when the phone rang, scaring her. "Moshi moshi!" she said.

"Hey, Kagome?" Came the voice she so wanted to hear.

"Inuyasha! I thought that something had happened, or…" she was cut off by his voice.

"Kagome, can you come over here? Like, now?" Inuyasha's voice was terse, withholding something, something important. "I can pick you up, but you need to come over now."

"Um…yeah, sure. My mom and brother are out, and I can come. But what time will I be back?" she asked, confused.

"Late." He snapped. "I have to go." And with a click, he hung up, making her set the phone down in confusion. Kagome wrote a note to her family, explaining she had something to do, and then waited.

Inuyasha (in his human form) pulled up in a sleek black car, (of which Kagome had no idea of its name) and she ran down the shrine steps, and got in the passenger's side. His eyes surveyed her, and he reached forward, pulling her to him for their lips to meet roughly, his questing tongue sweeping through her mouth briefly, and then he pulled back. "Lets go…" he said lowly, and he took off. He was gripping the steering wheel in a white knuckled grip, eyes narrowed, his hair pulled back in a loose ponytail. He glanced at her as she hooked her seat belt, and then floored it, driving like a speed demon. (A/n… Heh.)

"Inuyasha, what's going on?" Kagome said, holding on to the door handle, glancing at him before fixing her gaze on the road.

"Shippo needs to tell you something, and he is in deep shit as soon as I get home." He growled menacingly. "Quick question… do you still have the Shikon no Tama?"

"I don't think so… Why?"

"We might need it…" he muttered, pulling in to the driveway to a large condo. They stepped out, and Kagome followed Inuyasha who was radiating anger. The door slammed closed as Inuyasha stomped through the house, reaching back to drag Kagome along.

Shippo was lounging on the couch, sipping a coke, with Kouga who had his feet propped up, and eating chips. Both were not in their concealed forms. Kouga looked mildly surprised, but kept eating potato chips, a smirk on his lips as if he expected a good show to begin. Shippo paled as he saw the angry demon, which looked like the angel of death. "Oh hell…" he sighed, setting down the coke. "Why'd you have to bring her in to this?"

"All right you bastard, tell Kagome what you told me…" Inuyasha ordered, jerking Kagome down in to his lap as he sat down on the couch across from the two others. Kagome shot a startled look at Inuyasha, before turning her gaze to Shippo.

"Uh-right." Shippo fidgeted. "Well, about 300 years ago when I was about… 16 in human years, I'd kinda… met up with a miko, named Rei." A small smile crossed his lips, and then he focused on her. "She was my age, in human years, and um, well, we became friends, really good ones, and she didn't care that I was a youkai, nor that I had a stubborn, selfish jackass for a friend."

Inuyasha growled angrily, letting go of the magic that made him look human, and his eyes flashed red before returning to gold. "Go on with the story." He ordered, sliding his arms around Kagome.

"Ok… Well, I was out, with Rei, when we got separated, since I smelled a demon, and didn't want her to get hurt…"

*Flash back*

"Rei, why don't you go back to your village." A younger Shippo asked, sniffing the air. Rei looked at him, a confused expression on her pretty face. "Seriously, I'll be back in a second…"

Rei nodded, "All right." And she walked off, confused as to what was going on.

Shippo walked along the river, sniffing the entire time, tracking the scent of another kitsune, an older one, one that smelled sick… why was he having so much trouble getting the scent? A sharp cry made him look up, and gasp. Rei was being held up by a lithe demon with dark auburn hair and cruel black eyes. She kicked and screamed, fighting a loosing battle. "Little girl…" he growled. "You shouldn't be out alone, someone could hurt you, like I am going to…"

"REI!" Shippo yelled, running at her, his brown eyes wide with fright. "Foxfire!" he shouted, conjuring up his flame, and shooting it at the demon. The demon laughed, and threw her in to the woods, where she flew and hit a sapling, breaking it, and then connected solidly with a large tree, and slumping to the ground. "Rei! REI- answer me!"

Shippo charged at the youkai flipping over his head, and landing in a crouch, eyes narrowed. The youkai charged, and swiped madly with his claws, blindly hitting everything in his path. Shippo dodged the clawed hands, nimbly leaping over things, trying to draw him farther from Rei. The demon growled, and froze. Suddenly falling to the ground, blood exploding from his body. Shippo stopped short, blood spattering on his body, puzzled as to what happened.

Rei stood on shaky legs, her dark brown eyes filled with pain. Blood seeped down from her lips, to her chin, and she fell to the ground, dropping her bow and arrows with a clatter of wood. 'A purifying arrow- her purifying arrow…' Shippo realized.

Shippo ran over and scooped up the 15 year old girl, running at top speed for the village, covered head to foot with the youkai's blood, and her own. Rei's heartbeat grew steadily slower as he ran, and reached the village.

"Nami-sama! Come quickly!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Nami ducked out of the hut she was in, and gasped at the sight of her best friend's daughter in the demon's arms. Shippo had a scary look on his face, the look of a man who knew he was helpless to do anything, and was angry because of it.

Sachi, Rei's mother ran out of another hut as well, dressed in miko garb. Shippo had refrained from calling for her help, knowing that Sachi hated all demons, but would not go against the village who so liked him. "What did you do!" Sachi screamed in horror, seeing the youkai covered in what looked like Rei's blood.

"Sachi-sama, I didn't do anything!" Protested Shippo, still clutching the girl close, trying to make sure she would be all right. Nami gently took Rei from Shippo's desperate clutches.

"Come on, we need to get her cleaned up. Sachi, don't make judgements on things that you don't know are true…" Advised Nami. Sachi shook in rage as her daughter was taken away Shippo beginning to follow.

"You! Demon, come here." She hissed angrily. Shippo gazed lingeringly at the hut, which the girl had disappeared in to and then, followed Sachi. "If my daughter dies, then you do as well…" she snapped, her eyes blazing.

Shippo nodded tears of resentment filling his eyes. 'How come everyone close to me dies or leaves me? First my parents, then Kagome, now Rei…'

*End Flashback*

"She died… almost a week later." Shippo sighed, and sniffed. "Sachi was so angry with me, she refused to listen to reason, and her miko energy became…tainted if you will. She cursed me, somehow infusing me miko blood, which would ultimately eat away at my youkai blood and slowly kill me."

Kagome gasped, surprise coloring her features, Kouga growled low in his throat. "Is there no way to reverse it?" Kagome asked softly, feeling Inuyasha draw her against him trying to offer some form of comfort.

"Nope…" Shippo sighed. "I accepted my fate a long time ago Kagome…" He said with a sad smile. "I have maybe 100-200 years left, if I am lucky. I've known about this for a while, and it is fine."

"B-but…" Kagome shivered. "I don't want you to die…" she said softly.

A knock sounded at the door, and Kouga went to answer it, happy to be away from the soap opera, he had known about Shippo's problem, well before Inuyasha had, and knew there was nothing to do. "Hey babe…" came his voice, obviously happy with who was at the door.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes, and then shot a glance at the clock. "Kagome, you might wanna stay the night. It's almost midnight…"

Kagome sighed, and nodded. "Can I use the phone, I need to call my mom."

Shippo retreated, knowing that Inuyasha wanted to speak with Kagome alone.

"Hey Ayame, can ya tell my mom, if she calls, that I am sleeping over at your house? I have some things to take care of." Kagome asked, putting on a false, cheerful voice. "Thanks, owe you one…"

"Hey mom, I am spending the night with Ayame, to catch up, I will be back tomorrow."

After the explanations, Kagome turned to Inuyasha. "I- he can't be dying." She protested weakly.

Inuyasha stood still for a moment, his head bowed. "There may be a way to save him," he said softly. "C'Mon…"

Kagome followed him up the stairs, hearing muted voices behind one of the doors, realizing it was Kouga, and Kagura. They walked past, and in to a big room with a large waterbed with dark green sheets on it. Inside the room were, clothes- dirty ones- were piled in the corner, along with a large mahogany dresser, a table with a chair, and a chest, with a bunch of clothes strewn on it. The Tetsusaiga was leaning on a wall, along with other assorted weapons, which hung on the wall.

Kagome stared in wonder at everything, and then turned to him. "What do you have in mind?"

Inuyasha reached over and tugged up her shirt enough to reveal her hip. "I need to see where the jewel came out the first time," Inuyasha said, noticing the look of annoyance and confusion on her face.

Kagome pulled down the hem of her jeans enough for the scar to be seen. Inuyasha placed a hand on it, and then smiled slightly. "Ya might want to hold on to me…" he advised, closing his eyes.

Kagome placed her hands on his shoulders, confused as to what he was doing. "Relax…" Ordered Inuyasha, before leaning his forehead against hers.

Inuyasha felt the familiar swirl of his youkai energy begin to be released, as it drifted around the room. Kagome's power soon joined, a light pink, soothing energy that mingled with his own deep red. Kagome's breathing started to increase, as she felt her power begin to mix with his, a large power starting to build up in them. His hand tightened over the bare skin, claws digging in, where the scar from where the jewel had been ripped out when they had first met.

"This may hurt…" he muttered, his other hand slipping to the small of her back. With a rush of energy, the room was suddenly filled with their combined strength. The energy began to twist and turn in a spiral around them, almost like a tornado. Kagome's black hair whipped wildly around her, as did Inuyasha's.

With a loud "snap" Kagome stiffened, the breath rushing out of her, as she arched against him, pressing against him with the sudden flood of their mixed energy being sucked in to her. "Inu…Yasha…!" She gasped, her eyes flying open, something akin to fear in their dark brown depths. "Inu…Yasha…it…hurts…Onegai. Make it stop…" Her body shook violently, and she gave a wordless scream of pain.

And here we have the angst. Sorry 'bout that … Bad cliffie, I know, and something you should know, I do not hesitate to kill off a main character if I see it as needed. *Evil laughter* now, sorry about that, but you will have to read the next chapter to know if I killed off Kagome! Bwahahaha!
