A/N: Haha!!! I needed a break from my other story "The New Student and Kagome's Secret" so I decided to start this to clear my head. (Oh, and by the way read that story too!!! I will love you and hug you and squeeze you forever and ever and ever!).

Basically, this is what happens when a human and a hanyou go into heat at the same time!!! Oh and what I mean by in heat: Kagome is never on the rag throughout any of this story. When I say Kagome's in heat, I mean it her time of the month when she can get pregnant. Okay

Chapter 1

Inuyasha's heart skipped a beat when he heard two youkais mating off in the distance. `Hmph! Mating season,' he thought. He looked down at his companions sleeping peacefully by the fire. Sango had made sure that there was plenty of room between her and Miroku so there would be no middle-of-the-night groping. She laid on one side of the fire next to Kagome and Miroku slept on the other side of the fire. Had it not been for Inuyasha's mindful watch, Miroku probably would have tried to scoot closer to the demon exterminator when she was finally asleep. Kirara slept curled up with Sango. Shippo slept curled up with Kagome. It was peaceful night. Inuyasha doubted there would be too many demons after them at night during this time of the year. It was demon mating season, but Inuyasha had yet to reach his heat cycle. He was fully aware that it could come at any day, and he wasn't quite sure how he was going to handle it. He sighed. He would soon find out.

The next morning, everyone walked together along their usual path. Kagome walked next to Inuyasha pushing her bike down the dirt bath with Shippo seated in her bike's basket. Sango walked behind them next to Miroku with Kirara in her arms. Kagome stopped suddenly.

"What is it?" Inuyasha asked readying placing a hand on his sword. "Is it a demon? A jewel shard?"

"Wow!" she shouted propping up her bike and taking off down the hill.

"K-Kagome!" Inuyasha called after her. He soon saw where she was headed. A little patch of the most beautiful flowers ever seen lay at the bottom of the hill. Not far from the flowers were beautiful mountains behind a crystal clear river.

"Oh…how pretty!" she said stared at the landscape in front of her. Inuyasha growled.

"Kagome!" he said balling his fists at his side angrily. "We have to search for the jewel shards!" She looked back up at him with a happy smile.

"I wouldn't mind taking a day off!" Sango said. Inuyasha's eyes grew wide.

"What???" he said. Miroku nodded his head.

"I would like that as well," he said. "And I couldn't imagine a place more serene!"

"WHAT???!!!" Inuyasha yelled. Miroku rested a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder.

"Come on Inuyasha!" he said. "We've been searching for weeks on end without any luck, and the girls are tired." Kagome ran back up the hill to where she was standing mere inches from Inuyasha's face.

"Please, Inuyasha!" Kagome said with her hands in a begging motion. Her eyes pleaded with him and she puckered out her bottom lip. "Just for today?" Inuyasha stared down at her. He couldn't tell her no.

"Fine!" he said looking away and folding his arms in his haori. "But just today!" Kagome clapped her hands and squealed. She jumped into Inuyasha's arms and hugged him tight.

"Hey! What gives woman?!!" he said stumbling backwards from her impact.

"Thank you so much!" she said. She flashed her at eyes at him…so full of joy and innocence. It made him feel good to have made her happy. She ran back down the hill with a little kitsune cub hot on her trail. Miroku and Sango looked at Inuyasha who was still blushing from the hug and staring at Kagome.

"WHAT?" he said glaring at them when he caught them looking at him. They shook their heads quickly and then walked down the hill with a grumbling Inuyasha shortly following. Kagome had settled herself in the bed of flowers. She was showing Shippo how to make a flower crown. Sango and Miroku walked over to the river to get a drink of the crisp, cool water. Inuyasha sat not far from Kagome in his usual Indian-style form with his arms folded in his haori. He watched as she completed the crown of flowers and held it out for Shippo to see. Miroku and Sango were walking back now. Kagome placed the crown on Shippo's head. It was a little big and fell down so it covered his eyes. Kagome giggled. Inuyasha even laughed a little. Sango and Miroku stopped in their tracks. Had Inuyasha just laughed?

"Kagome's effects on Inuyasha never cease to amaze me," he said to Sango. Sango nodded her head.

"I don't think I have ever seen Inuyasha laugh before," she said thoughtfully. The little kitsune began running around in circles trying to get the flower crown off of his head.

"I can't see! I can't see! I can't see!" he screamed until he finally ran into Inuyasha causing Inuyasha to fall flat on his back. Shippo sat on his chest. He lifted the flower crown slowly so he could peak underneath to see who he had run into. When he saw Inuyasha, his eye began to twitch and he started shaking. Inuyasha lifted his fist to pound the little kitsune when…

"Wait!" Shippo screamed. He jumped off of Inuyasha and ran over to Kagome. He handed her the flower crown. "I don't want it to be ruined." He bowed and then slowly walked back over to Inuyasha who was now standing. "Okay!" he said crouching down preparing himself for the impact.

"Heh!" Inuyasha smirked cracking his knuckles. He lifted his fist to pound the kitsune when…

"Sit boy!" Kagome screamed quickly slamming Inuyasha face first into the ground. The little kitsune cub scrambled behind Kagome.

"Ka-go-me!" Inuyasha grumbled into the ground. He lifted himself from the ground and glared at the girl. She glared back at him. Sango and Miroku shook their heads.

"Here we go again," Miroku said as he heard the two begin to argue in the background.

"And to think we were going to enjoy a peaceful evening," she said with a sigh.

"You need to be nicer to Shippo…he's just a kid!" she screamed at him.

"Well, the dumb kid needs to watch where the hell he's going!" Inuyasha screamed back.

"He couldn't help it! He couldn't see!" she argued.

"How ignorant do you have to be to just get the damn flowers off of your head?!" he said.

"He probably didn't think to do that! Everything happened so quickly!" she screamed. "If you want to blame someone, blame me! I'm the one who made the flower crown too big for him so that it covered his eyes!" she argued. Inuyasha said nothing.

"This is starting to get interesting!" Miroku whispered to Sango who nodded her head in agreement. Kagome walked over to Inuyasha until she was inches from his face.

"Hit me!" she said to his face. Sango and Miroku gasped. Inuyasha started to growl.

"Kagome!" Sango called out.

"You're crazy, wench!" Inuyasha said and turned his back to her. Kagome ran around in front of him.

"I said hit me!!!" she screamed at him. Inuyasha just looked at her as if she had gone mad.

"Kagome, what's your problem? Don't you know that I would never hit you?" he said and walked towards the river. Kagome smiled as she watched him go. "This conversation is over." Sango and Miroku just stared after Inuyasha.

"Well, this was a new occurrence!" Sango stated. Miroku nodded. Kagome walked past Miroku and Sango towards Inuyasha.

"Oh God! Doesn't she know when to leave things alone?" Sango complained. Kagome kneeled next to Inuyasha.

"Say, Inuyasha?" she began. He stared straight ahead as if he was lost deep in his own thoughts. "Can't we just have a pleasant day off together?" He didn't look at her.

"Kagome…don't you know that I would never hurt you?" he said out of no where. Kagome was shocked. She smiled.

"Yeah, I know that," she said.

"Then why did you ask me to hit you back there?" he asked.

"Because I was just trying to make a point and end the argument," she said with a grin. She laid her head on his shoulder. "And I knew you wouldn't do it." He blushed but smiled nonetheless.

"Kagome," he whispered and wrapped his arm around her for a tight hug. "I'll never hurt you."

A/N: Okay all of this has significance! You will find out in later chapters what that significance is.
