In the Mirror: Chapter fifteen. Talk.

Well to say that I missed our dog-eared friend would be an understatement. Not that I don't love Sango and Shippo's company, but I'm going to go crazy if I don't find a male companion to talk too. All Sango wants to talk about is killing Inuyasha, how much she misses Kagome, which I didn't mind talking about because I feel the same way, and how she was going to kill Inuyasha.

 

And Shippo? Every day he would go out to look for Inuyasha and give him a piece of his mind. You could tell the days he found him from the days he didn't.

 

When he didn't find him he's come home kicking, screaming and cursing.

 

When he did find him he'd come home sit down and not say a word. I suppose he was carefully planning his next attack on him.

 

But two weeks ago when he came home something was different.

 

He came home smiling.

 

`'Hay Miroku, hay Sango. What's for dinner?'' She just stared at him like he had another head attached to him. And I'm sure I was doing the same. What in the seven hell's brought this on?

 

`'Um, chicken and rice. Is that okay with you?'' She asked him looking a little `freaked' as Kagome-sama would say in that situation.

 

`'Yeah that sounds great! I'm starving.'' He said sitting down. We ate peacefully, with Sango glancing nervously at him from time to time. And from that day forward he still came home smiling. But he wouldn't tell us why. My suspensions are that he found Inuyasha and caught up with him and worked things out. I'm just out side of the village at the lake, I see Shippo sitting there throwing rocks into the lake.

 

I'm going to talk to him today and find out what's been going on.

 

He hears me coming and turns to look at me.

 

`'Hay Miroku, what's up?'' He asks me. I sit down next to him trying to find out how to approach him with this question. He is still a little sensitive about some things, especially about things that involve Inuyasha or Kagome-sama.

 

`'Shippo, may I ask you a question?''

 

`'Sure what do you want to know?'' I look him in the eyes.

 

`'I would like to know if you've finally found Inuyasha. You've been in an exceptionally good mood lately.''

 

He smiled a little and looked out to the lake.

 

`'Yeah I caught him, or more like he stopped running from me.'' I could see the sparkle in his eyes, and it answered my question.

 

They had made up.

 

And Inuyasha must have said something really moving to get Shippo to forgive him. It looks like my friend has finally grown up. A little anyway. But even a little is good enough to make me proud of him. I wonder…

 

`'Shippo, do you think that Inuyasha would allow me to speck to him?'' I ask him. He looks at me with a worried expression.

 

`'Miroku, you haven't tried to find him in over a month, so why would you start now?''

 

`'I just wish to speck to him on matters concerning Kagome-sama.'' I said, he paled.

 

`'NO! I-I mean no, don't do that.'' He said turning to me, eyes wide and frantic.

 

I've never seen him look this frightened when we weren't in a battle. Did something happen out there?

 

`'Shippo, what's the matter? Why are you so scared? What happened?''

 

`'Okay okay, enough with the questions. It's just that Inuyasha doesn't want anyone to know what we talked about or even that we talked. And if you go out there looking for him when you haven't bothered in over a month then he's going to know that I said something to you. Do you understand?'' Of course I understand, I said that he grew up a little, not enough to make any since.

 

`'Alright Shippo, I won't try to find him. But the next time you talk to him do you think that you could try to convince him to come back to the village with you?'' I ask him, he looks puzzled for a minute before asking…

 

`'Why?''

 

`'This way I can talk to him about what I need to and you won't be in trouble for saying anything you weren't suppose to.''

 

He looked thoughtful for awhile. Don't ask me about what, I'm no mind reader and Shippo and Inuyasha would be two of the hardest people to start on.

 

`'What about Sango? You know the minute that he even tries to come into the village she'll kill him.'' I laugh at that comment and he looks at me funny. He really thinks Sango will kill him. I guess our little Shippo has yet to learn about women and how they can cam get over emotional and say things that they don't mean. But then again I must say that Sango had a good reason to be a little emotional, after all her best friend was taken away from her because of him. But still I said.

 

`'Don't worry about Sango Shippo, I'll take care of her.'' He looked at me and sweat dropped. What did I say?

 

`'Yes I'm sure you will, but I don't think a butt massage will do her any good.'' I sweat dropped my self.

 

`'Now Shippo, why would I ever do a thing like that? You know I'm a holy man.'' I say holding my hand in prayer stance.

 

`'Yeah, your a real holy man when it comes to money, lying to get a good nights sleep and trying to fondle every woman that crosses your path.'' I have no intention of telling you people what I am thinking right now.

 

`'Don't you think it's time to head back to the village? I'm sure Sango will be done with dinner soon.'' I say getting up, he shakes his head and gets up to come back to the village with me.

 

`'What ever you say Miroku, but don't come crying to me tonight what you have a hand print on your face again.''
