Author's Note: The whole mongoose thing is based on when I went to Maui. Instead of squirrels, I saw brown ferret like creatures that my college told me were Mongoose. What confused me is that they claim to have no snakes. So why have a mongoose if there snakes aren't around?

 

 

Chapter nine

 

 

Kagome woke up 7 hours later to the sounds of heavy rain. She felt warm, and safe. Looking at her arm that was nearly bit off, she found it bandaged neatly. When she moved slightly she discovered arms were securely wrapped around her waist. She turned to the side to look at the keeper of the said arms. That guy! Mr. Sexy. She blushed instantly wondering if he was naked under the fur.

 

Sleeping soundly he was a vision to her. She thought at first that she just was too high of fever and made him up. She couldn't help but touch his cheek, just to make sure she wasn't dreaming. When doing so he snuggled closer to her and tightened his grip even more.

 

`Oh he has clothes on.' She thought as she felt his jean clad legs. She couldn't tell at first because his chest was bare, and both of them were under the covers. For the faintest moments she was disappointed that he had jeans on. With that thought she cursed fussing with herself on how bad that sounded and wondered what her sister would have thought of her thinking such thoughts. `She probably thinks the same thing.' She thought staring at her bed warmer.

 

She slowly removed his arm and got out of the bed. Her leg hurt like crazy, but it didn't stop her from walking around. Remember about the dog that protected her, she looked around wondering how he was. He was nowhere to be found. She actually noticed that the two of them were the only ones in the room, and also that she was back to wearing just a white t-shirt. `He's been stripping me.' She thought looking back at him.

 

She walked up to the sink and looked around. “I wonder where a bathroom is?”

 

“I don't have one you have to go outside like the rest of us.” Came the reply from the bed. Kagome whirled around almost causing herself to fall. Like lightning, the man caught her and without any effort took her back to bed.

 

He laid her down and followed suite.

 

“What are you doing? She asked trying to sound shock.

 

“Your hurt, lay down and rest. Besides you can't go outside right now, there is a storm out there. You will be more comfortable here in bed” He replied not noticing the implications.

 

“This isn't proper. I don't know you, yet we are sharing the bed.” She pointed out trying to reason with him. Even though she really didn't care. She didn't want him to think that she was a slut or something, so she had to at least sound like she was shocked in sharing a bed with him.

 

“Yes you know me. I saved you from the bandits and I took care of you. As for the bed, what difference does it make? I have only one bed. We can share. Besides both of us are injured and should rest. Besides, this is the easiest way for me to keep track of you, incase you Rob me and run off.” He replied, emphasizing the word rob.

 

“I didn't Rob you. I just took your knife and some food. I paid for them.” She shot back hoping he would just drop it. However, she is not that lucky.

 

“You gave me American money, as if it's accepted here, with no explanation, and you're telling me what's not proper?” he looked at her his face full of irritation.

 

“I left a note.” She replied wishing she could just shut up and stop talking back.

 

“Oh those scribble stuff. I can't read whatever that was, so that still shows that you are a thief. So just shut up and sleep, I am tired and don't feel like worrying about you anymore.” He said as he closed his eyes.

 

“Let go, you don't have to worry about me you know. I can take…”

 

“Before you say what you are about to say, remember, you have been shot at, bitten by something, attacked more than once. And thought that dogs can talk to humans. I think you need a couple of keepers. I never seen a girl who can get into as much trouble as you.” He said honestly. He closed his eyes again and decided the conversation was over. So he sent out the message to her. “Sleep, Mahal sleep, we will sort this out later”

 

Kagome's eyes started to droop, `he's the one doing this.' She thought struggling to regain her wits. “What is you name?” she asked him before losing herself into dreamland.

 

 

“Inuyasha” Was all that she heard as she fell into the realm of dreams.
