Inuyasha's eyes narrowed at the sight of the last person he thought he would ever see. It was his older brother. His older half brother to make things worse for him.” What do you want bastard?” Inuyasha snarled at the man before him.

 

“Is that anyway to treat family….Inuyasha?” the man asked sarcastically.

 

“Sesshomaru….what do you want?” Inuyasha repeated trying to block his view of Kagome.

 

The man in question raised a brow and looked at the girl and then back at his brother. “I am glad that you have proper use of my name. I almost thought that you didn't know it.”

 

“Bastard suits you fine Sesshomaru.” Inuyasha replied slowly calming down.

 

“Wait a minute…..I've seen you before. I thought you were bigger. You gave me some…” Kagome started but was cut of by her angry lover.

 

“Stay away from him Mahal. He can't be trusted and he is a total jackass.” Inuyasha said as he blocked his brother's view from the sight of Kagome.

 

Though she had a blanket of fur covering her, she felt herself heat up in the face, for everyone in the 3mile radius knew what the two were engaged in just 10 minutes ago.

 

“I am not concerned with your mate. I have come to talk to you…little brother.” With that the man in question walked into the forest giving Inuyasha the signal that he wanted him to follow him.

 

“Mahal, I will be back.” Inuyasha thought to her as he followed his brother into the woods. Shaking her head she climbed out of bed and grabbed some toiletries and headed to the spring to clean up and dress.

Lt. Kohaku Blair was in the station looking at the report in his hands. `God I love conspiracies.' He thought as he smiled finally thinking that this report will defiantly get him promoted to detective. Right after arresting the Mayor, and filing out the report he headed to the chiefs office and knocked on the door.

 

“Come.” Said the gruff voice from the other side of the door.

 

“Sir, I have the report that you had requested.” Kohaku replied as he stepped in and waited for the man before him to review it.

 

Myoga sighed to himself as he reviewed it. He then looked at Kohaku. He was one of the best cops he had in a long time. After 9 years of hard work, Kohaku deserved the promotion.

 

“I am going to have to ask you to take a short leave of absence Lt. Blair.” Myoga said after awhile.

 

“Excuse me sir?” Not quite understanding what he was hearing.

 

“It's with pay. You see there was a slight misunderstanding with the whole situation; you thought you were doing your job, which is why I am not suspending you. I informed the mayor that you have been overworked, and didn't realize what happened. I let him know that there wasn't a call, wasn't an arrest, and there wasn't a report. I apologized for you, so you don't have to worry about anything. And as for reporters, since there was no written documentation…” he started as he took the file that Kohaku made and shredded it. “There was no arrest. The other two officers were rookies, so they too were innocent to what was going on.”

 

“Are you kidding me? This bastard had enough coke in his possession to start a war, and you are saying that we are to ignore that. Our job is to….Ug never mind you of all people should know what our job is.” Kohaku yelled back shocked as to what he was hearing.

 

“The lab tested the bags and it was not cocaine Lt, it was corn starch. There is no need in you being insubordinate.” Myoga lied. He hated doing this to the man, but he needed him to understand what was going on.

 

“So it's just like that? He gets off and because I was doing my job, I have to take off too.” Kohaku said shaking his head in disbelief.

 

“Look Kohaku, Naraku is a very dangerous man. I don't want anything bad to happen to this department do you understand me?” Myoga tried to reason. Never in his life had he lied so much. It made his stomach churn. But the higher ups wanted this dissolved, and he wanted to do it without firing one of his best men.

 

“Oh I get it, so you don't want anything to happen to your job? Or your cut since it's obvious that you were ….never mind.” Kohaku said implying that Myoga was paid off.

 

Myoga understanding what Kohaku was thinking shook his head. He hated the look the younger man was giving him. He then leaned to Kohaku and looked dead into his eyes.

 

“Something wrong is going on around hear. I know it and so do you. The problem is, it has been going on since Mr. Arachna been in office. I don't really understand what kind of shit he is into, but he is above us. I think we should can the bastard, but the higher ups don't agree and that is who we listen too. I am sorry, now get out of my office and I will be seeing you next week.” Myoga said as he dismissed Kohaku

 

Kohaku was so furious he didn't know what to do. The Chief wasn't paid off, he was just a coward. So he just got out of his chair, and walked out of the room without a word. Myoga took a deep breath and opened his desk drawer. He grabbed a container of Rolaids and popped three in his mouth.

 

“This has been one Hell of a day.” He muttered to no one in particular.

 

Kohaku was quickly heading to the locker room when he spotted Kilala Neko. She smiled at him and rushed to him holding something in her hands. When they reached each other she quickly gave him a folder and followed him into the locker room.

 

Seeing that no one else was in the room she grabbed her things and told him. “Seems that I too am heading out for the day. Lets go somewhere shall we? She asked with a grin.

 

Kohaku eyed her curiously and nodded. He had nothing else to do why not. After all she's pretty cute and always wanted to have lunch with the young woman beside her. So they headed to her car.

 

“Hey Kohaku, it's been a crazy day hasn't it?” She asked him motioning him to come closer. Confused he followed suite and got into her Jetta.

 

“You know I took the call early this morning right?” She said as she looked around for people, while backing out of her parking spot. “Well just two seconds ago, while I getting ready to leave I had to take another call and had send a car to Mr. Arachna's home.”

 

“What?” Kohaku immediately looked at the woman beside him driving the car.

 

“Yup, get this, his housekeeper called all frantic and said that Mr. and Mrs. Arachna had a huge fight. And he killed her and tried to run off. She said that a lot of his stuff is gone. She said all of this to me over the phone. Why don't we make a trip to the house? They can't possibly cover this up too right?” She said to Kohaku.

 

While running to his car he reached for his cell phone and dialed a number. If one person could help him it would be this guy.

 

“Hello Kohaku, it's been a while.” A calm voice from the other end said.

 

“Can it Miroku, I need to talk to you about something. Where can we meet?” Kohaku asked.

“The winds have changed little brother can you feel it?” Sesshomaru said after they reached a desirable destination to talk.

 

“Yeah I do, what does it mean?” Inuyasha asked suddenly concerned. The forest that once felt peaceful and welcoming, felt forlorn and threatened.

 

“Soon there will be a battle, little brother. The evil had spread. It's after your mate. Do you hear the conflict in the trees? They are mourning for her. It's now time for us to protect what's ours. My daughter has been infected, she has transformed. She needs to be healed soon before it consumes her.”

 

“Right, I'll do what I can for her.” Inuyasha said Sesshomaru nodded and then looked to the left of them.

 

“Rin too has transformed. But she is still pure. She is preparing for battle. Go to her first. I must go; my time here has reached the limit.” With that Sesshomaru dissolved into the mist. Inuyasha sniffed the air looking for his love and headed to her.

 

He found her at the spring. `She's dressed.' He thought with much disappointment. “We must go Mahal; we need to look for Rin.” He said as he reached for her hand. He suddenly sensed another presence. It was familiar but he still didn't know who it was. He quickly put Kagome behind her and waited for the presence to appear.

 

“You really don't have to look for Rin Inuyasha, she is right here.” A voice announced from behind. The two of them turned around to look and Inuyasha's eyes suddenly widened.

 

“Kikyou?!?!?”
