Alone, She's always been alone. At least, that's how she feels. Truth be told, she grew up like every other little girl. She had a loving mother, overprotective father, video-game crazy little brother, and a 'I'm-too-young-to-die' grandfather. She was popular in school and around town. Boys saw her as God's gift from heaven to them and girls saw her as the devil's curse from Hell.

Her best friend was a tomboy named Aki. Even though they had their differences, they had their similarities too. She always knew who her real friends were and who just hung around her for the attention. Even though it annoyed her greatly to be used she wouldn't say. Instead she would put on the biggest smile she could muster even though it was just sugar-coated to hide all feelings deep within her.

She never let anyone know anything she truly felt. All her emotions and secrets were somewhere dug deep within her heart. She always seemed happy-go-lucky on the outside but inside of her she was hurting. Her heart always felt like it was going burst if she didn't tell someone the things she knew. Yet, she got used to the pain and ignored thinking it was for the best. No one needed to know anything. They'd just run away like everyone who ever found out did. Or they would hate her and try to kill her. No one needed to know her secret. Or at least that's what her family thought was for the best.

Yup, to everyone, her life was a walk in the clouds. Everything she had, everything she got, everything she was. She was considered 'perfect' in the eyes of others. She had the perfect life. Nothing could have gone wrong.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Years later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hey Kagome! Where's the Sukatsa file?"

"Third drawer to the left."

"Thanks!" After graduating college, Kagome now works for the FBI as a field agent tracking down 'most wanted' criminals and bringing them to justice. Kagome was known on the force as 'Independent Angel' for her kindness towards others but also for her kick butt abilities and independent attitude on the job. She always stands up for what she thought was right, whether or not anyone else agreed with her.

It's been years since Kagome's life had been torn away from her in one swipe. All she had known, loved, and cared for was gone. Someone had found out. Someone knew what her family had tried to protect her from. Now all she had left was a necklace that was her birthday gift from her family before she lost them all. Kagome had decided from then on that no one would come close to her. Sure, she had to live the life of a normal person but she wouldn't let herself get attached to anyone or in other words, let no one come near her heart...again.
