Tears ran down Kagome's face as Inuyasha held her by the neck against a tree, laughing . Never had she felt so much pain, and by the one she cured for the most, no less.

"I'll make you pay for all the things you did to me you little bitch." He whispered in her ear " And after I make you pay, we'll have a little fun, although I don't think ~you'll~ like it very much." He laughed harshly in her face.

"I…Inuyasha…"

"Inuyasha, why?" The demon mimicked her in a high falsetto voice. " You're pitiful, you know that? I don't know why we ever liked you. You're too whiney. I should just put you out of your misery now." Inuyasha stopped talking as he seriously considered his own words.

"PUT HER DOWN!!!" A voice all but bellowed.

Kagome's fear and pain were forgotten as her eyes landed on the speaker. What she saw what she saw was unbelievable.

"No" she thought. "Inuyasha? H...How can that be?"

The demon turned to look at the human.

"And if I don't?" The demon leered.

"I'll make you! Put her down!"

The demon laughed and squeezed Kagome's neck a little tighter. Kagome tried gasping but she couldn't find the air to do so.

"And how pray tell, do you plan to make me?"

The dark haired boy smiled grimly as her raised the untransformed tetsaiga. The demon looked at the human and burst into laughter.

"And what do you plan to do with that rusty thing? Saw my fingers off? You can't do anymore with it than I can!"

The human shrugged.

" I can still make you let her go." He said quietly.

"I'd like to see you try!"

With that said the human brought up his left palm and sliced his flesh with the edge of the tetsaiga. The demon drew back the hand that held Kagome causing her to fall to the ground.

"FUCK! You little shit! How dare you do this to me, that's it you're dead." The demon growled, hand dripping with blood from the wound the human had caused. He lunged for the human and slashed his right leg with his claws.

"Ha! Take that you little…Ahh! Shhhii…. Damn it this can't be happening!" The demon screamed, gripping his open wound on his leg. The human limped up with a laugh.

"You idiot, I guess I'm the one with the brain between us. I guess you still haven't comprehended the fact that if you injure me, you injure yourself."

"This is bullshit! So now I have to either protect your little weak ass or die? Gods, why are you torturing me??!" The demon seethed.

The dark haired boy rolled his eyes before he turned his attention elsewhere. He saw Kagome laying on the ground and he walked over to her.

"Kagome? Are you alright? Do you have any other injuries?" the boy began to search her body for more wounds.

Kagome just laid there shocked, not saying a word. Her eyes go wide, tears forming in them. Her lips began to tremble as she tried to speak.

"I…In… Inu-- Inuyasha? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!?" The human flinched and backed away from her a bit.

"Look, Kagome, I know you're a bit confused. Hell, I am too. But you need to calm down and keep a cool head until we figure all of this out." Inuyasha then turned his attention back to the demon on the ground. "And you… You just need to go somewhere because your bitching is really getting on my nerves."

The demon jumped to the Human's face and gripped the human's arm, careful not to be rough with him for his own sake. "You… you better just watch it, asshole. I may not be able to hurt you physically, but there are other ways to cause you pain."

"What do you mean by that?" the dark haired boy said, shooting a cold stare at the demon. The demon just gave him a smile and glanced over the human's shoulder to look at Kagome who was still on the ground. With another malicious smile, the demon then turned and walked deeper into the forest.

Miroku sat up holding his head, letting out a small grunt as his hand grazed a small bruise on his head. He looked over at Sango and noticed a small bruise above her left breast which he quickly began to tend to. SMAK!!!

"Sorry hoshi-sama there was a bug on your face." Sango said hiding a smirk.

"I see your reflexes have gotten better Sango-chan." Miroku said with a sigh.

"Okay was it my imagination or did we just see two Inuyashas before we passed out?"

"No, that wasn't our imagination. There was an Inuyasha in demon form and one in human form but I can't even begin to wonder what happened there."

"Before the flashing light, Inuyasha was shot with an arrow from nowhere. I also felt a strong demonic presence, different from Naraku." Miroku explained.

"Well what ever it was, it has some weird intentions." Sango said as she stood to sling her weapon over her shoulder,

"Actually, where did the both of them go?" Just as Miroku finished human Inuyasha along with Kagome walked into the clearing.

"Kagome-chan when did you return?" Asked Sango running up to her two friends.

"I returned just a while ago, but when I did you wouldn't believe what I saw…"

"You saw them both didn't you?" Miroku asked.

"Yeah, what happened?"

"I'm not quite sure myself but whoever caused it knew what it was doing." Miroku said looking over at Inuyasha.

"What do you mean by who?" Inuyasha inquired.

"Whoever did this must be very skilled in dark magic and must know quite a bit about your dilemmas as a human and a full youkai."

"Naraku?" Said Inuyasha and Kagome in unison.

"No, I did not sense his presence at that moment before it happened."

"Well who ever did it, did not do a very good job of separating us completely. They left a little flaw. When ever one of us is injured the other can feel that exact pain, leaving us still connected in some way."

"hmmm, that may not be a flaw." Miroku pondered." Actually it's pretty ingenious if you ask me. By separating the weaker half from the stronger half…"

"What do you mean by weak!?!" Inuyasha fumed.

"Shhh, just listen. By being human as you are now will leave you utterly vulnerable for attack, or even death. Thus, it would kill both of you."

"WHAT? Hell my demon half already wants me dead. Does he know what that will lead?"

"Suicide…..in a sense>" said Kagome said in a sarcastic tone.

"So for now, we must all keep a close watch over Inuyasha." Miroku said patting Inuyasha on the shoulder.

Meanwhile somewhere in the forest far away from the group.

"I can't believe my life is in his hands. You better stay alive you little fuck or so help me." The demon thought to himself as he kicked any branch or over brush that got in his way. He walked a bit farther but stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a soft little noise coming from a river ahead. A little girl was in the river gathering water in her canteen, suddenly she was startled by a noise coming from the forest. The child looked up scanning the area around her.

"Sesshomaru-sama?" The little voice called out.

Her eyes closed in on a shadowed figure similar to the silhouette of her beloved master.

"Sesshomaru-sama! I have water for us, Sesshomaru-sama?"

"Feh, I can't believe after all of these years of his shit about humans, my brother takes one in as his own. Fucking hypocrite."

Inuyasha finally came out from the shadows and glared at the girl with his fiery red eyes.

" Ahhhhhh Sesshomaru-sama a monster ahhhhh!" The girl screamed.

Before Inuyasha could grab the girl to shut her up, a clawed hand grabbed his shoulder and launched him into a tree.

"So little brother, I see you lost the tetsaiga again. You surely do not deserve such a great sword. And I see that you wish to harm my Rin, omae o korousu…..shi ne." Sesshomaru said drawing his sword.
