Inuyasha yawned as he opened his sleepy eyes. Light flooded the cave as the inu hanyou looked out of the shelter. It had stopped raining and the sun was shining brightly outside. The inu noticed that Amimi, the mysterious kitsune he found the night before, was silently snuggled on his shoulder. He blushed slightly as he carefully inched away from her.

“Wha-?” mumbled the kitsune, hitting her head on the ground. She yawned as she sat up, trying to adjust to the brightness in the cave. Amimi looked at Inuyasha, her eyes half open.

“Ohaiyo,” she smiled as she slowly stood up, stretching her arms in the air. The kitsune walked to the edge of the cave and looked at the forest, sparkling brightly from the dew.
All of a sudden, a large spear came hurdling from outside, almost hitting Amimi on her left arm. The inu hanyou stood up, surprised at what had just happened. The kitsune froze in shock as she looked into the large brush and tall trees, trying to find out who threw it. Several other spears were thrown at the pair; all missing, luckily. Some ningen men were seen from the trees and in the bushes as they threw the long, sharp spears.

“Hey!” yelled Inuyasha, not happy that the day started out like this. “What's the big idea?!” The men came out of their hiding spots, knowing that they have been located.

“What are you doing in our territory?” asked one of the men sternly, holding a bow and arrow in his hand.

“We were just here to camp. It was raining very hard and we needed to find shelter,” replied the kitsune, sounding like it actually happened. Inuyasha nodded in agreement, playing along with her story. The ningen men huddled together, trying to come up with a solution.

One of the men looked at them. “Come with us….”

“So….They were hanging around Inuyasha's forest?” asked an old woman as she spoke to the ningen men. “That's correct,” answered one of them, pointing to the two.

“Alright…Let me speak to them….” she said sternly as the men nodded and left the hut.
The old woman looked at the two demons. “So…what were ye two doing in the forest?” The old woman stared at Inuyasha. “Inuyasha…It's been awhile since we met.”

The inu hanyou glared at her. “How do you know me?” he asked sternly.

“Don't ye remember Kaede? The little sister of the woman who enchanted you?” she said, knowing that Inuyasha might remember. “Kaede? You were that twerp who kept following me and Kikyo around…” he muttered, scratching his head, probably from thinking too much in the past.

“You haven't changed one bit have ye?” sighed Kaede as she started a fire.

“What's that suppose to mean you old hag?!” he yelled, getting angry at the ningen. Amimi looked at the two, a little confused about what they were talking about.

“So…Where's the Shikon Jewel, you hag?” he asked rudely but sternly.

“It was burned with my sister the day you were enchanted,” she answered, throwing a piece of wood in the fire.

“What are you talking about, hag?” asked the inu hanyou. “My sister died the same day you were bound to that tree,” said Kaede, a small frown showing upon her face.

Inuyasha showed no emotion to the news. “Well good for her. She deserves it for pinning me to that tree.”

Amimi sighed silently as she tried her best to pick up anything that they were talking about, but with no prevail. The old miko looked at the kitsune. “I haven't gotten your name, young kitsune,” she said, looking at Amimi.

“Uh…My name is Amimi,” she answered, looking into the fire. “Amimi, eh? Somehow that name sounds familiar…” Kaede mumbled as she looked at the flames coming from the fire pit.

A long pause came upon the three. “Ah…yes…I remember,” said Kaede, breaking up the silence. “There was a story about a young kitsune girl named Amimi who had powers beyond the strongest demons.” Inuyasha's ears perked up, wanting to learn more about the story.

“It was all thanks to this mysterious pearl embedded in the girl's upper chest. The pearl was stronger than that of the Shikon Jewel…Somehow, Amimi vanished from this land for the last 50 years. Some say she died from fighting off a band of strong demons. Others say she was burned so no one could get their hands on the pearl,” Kaede continued as she sighed at the end. “I'm afraid that's all I know…”

Amimi had a disappointing look on her face, wanting to know more. “But…” Kaede said suddenly as Inuyasha and Amimi perked their ears up a bit. “There is a man by the name of Fujitaka that lives on the outskirts of town who knows more about this,” she told the two as Amimi stood up. She bowed, showing the miko some respect.

“Arigato, Kaede,” said the kitsune as she began to walk out of the hut.
The inu hanyou followed the kitsune out of the hut. “Come back anytime…” said Kaede out loud, as she waved goodbye.

“So…Fujitaka…” mumbled Inuyasha as he crossed his arms. “I guess we should go there since there isn't anything else to do…” Amimi smiled as she walked beside him. `Finally…I get to know more…' she thought. `Hopefully that story Kaede was talking is about me…I must know more.'
