`Wha-?' thought the inu hanyou to himself as he stared at the girl. He walked over to her, picked her up, and set her down next to him near the fire. The girl looked about 16, but since she had kitsune ears and a kitsune tail, she could be older. The kitsune had pitch black hair longer than knee length and was wearing a miko kimono. A brown, leather bag was slung around her shoulder and small necklace circled her neck.
“Hey…Wake up,” said Inuyasha shaking her a bit, seeing if that would wake her up. Nothing happened. The inu hanyou noticed the beautiful beaded necklace around her neck. He took the center bead and rubbed it between his fingers. It began to glow a bright purple color before it died down and turned back into its jade color. A slight moan came out of the kitsune's mouth as she looked at the inu with her soft, innocent pink eyes.
“Konbanwa…” she muttered softly as she slowly supported her back against the wall. The kitsune yawned, putting her hand to her mouth. “What's your name?” “My name is Inuyasha,” he mumbled, not feeling comfortable saying his own name to anyone. The kitsune nodded.
“Nice to meet you Inuyasha,” she said with her soft voice as she looked at him. “My name is Amimi.” Amimi slowly stood up, stretching her arms as she looked outside of the cave. It was still pouring. Inuyasha looked in the fire, trying to think of something to say. “So…uh…” he started, able to get something out of his mouth. “What are you doing in this cave, Amimi?” The kitsune scratched her head. “To tell you the truth…I have no idea…”
Inuyasha sighed as he crossed his arms. Amimi thought a little bit as she looked at the rain splashing on the cave floor. “All I can remember is that someone trapped me here…” A frown appeared on the kitsune's face as Inuyasha cocked his head. “Trapped you?” Amimi didn't respond. There were too many things racing in her mind.
“Inuyasha…” she called as she looked around the cave for any signs of food. “Yeah?” he answered her, wondering what she would do. “Oh…Gomen…It's just that that name suits you. It's hard for me to stop saying it,” she said, blushing a little. A smile appeared on her face that made Inuyasha blush. He turned around, hoping she did not see him turn a slight pink. “Oh…” said Amimi, breaking the silence. “Have you had anything to eat yet?” The inu hanyou looked at her. “No…not at the moment…”
The kitsune nodded. She quickly opened her leather bag, and took out some glass bottles which contained some spices. Amimi grabbed some vegetables growing inside the cave and put them out in the rain so they would be washed off. She took them inside when all of the dirt and soil was washed away and wiped them off with a linen cloth. She sprinkled some spices on each and began to set each on the linen cloth. “It tastes just like meat but you still get the minerals and proteins of a vegetable,” she told him as she handed him one. The inu sniffed it, but somehow knew he could trust the kitsune. He took a bit but ended up finishing it in two.
Amimi smiled at him. “If you put them over the fire, they would have a spicier taste.” The inu hanyou shook his head. “I like it just the way it is,” he told her as he took another vegetable and began to munch. The kitsune blushed as she started eating hers.
Soon all the meat-tasting vegetables were devoured and the night was pitch black, except for the bright moon. The rain still poured, but the moon's light could still be seen through the gray clouds. Amimi yawned softly as she stared into the fire. It was almost it was a foot and a half high and lowering.
The inu hanyou watched her as she slowly fell asleep on his left shoulder. He stared at her of a little while, noticing how peaceful it was with her around. It was similar to when Kikyo was near. Inuyasha smiled a bit as he put his head against the cave wall, slowly falling asleep.
