It was 1 year later and the whole gang had finished collecting all the jewel shards. Inuyasha let Kagome wish instead of him and she wished that she could become a half-demon like Inuyasha...and she did. Now she has claws, fangs and golden eyes.
Today she was turning 17. She was so happy and invited Inuyasha along. They were now together, and they had been for the past 8 months. Kagome was so happy, and today the clear air brought luck. She sat in the kitchen, watching Inuyasha chow down on ramen (noodles). He paused for a moment and looked at her.
"mmph..what?" he asked with a mouthfull of ramen. Kagome laughed.
"oh, nothing...you just look so cute when you eat like that," she said. Inuyasha's ears twitched, then he resumed his ramen. Kagome looked at her watch. It was 5:52 PM. The party would start at 6:00. Kagome was going to have a party alone with Sota, her mom, grandfather and Inuyasha. She decided not to invite her other friends since seeing her in this form would surprise them and even make them scared. But she liked being a half-demon. That way...if she and Inuyasha ever did decide to have children they would be half demons as well. She wondered why Inuyasha kept sneaking out of the house and going back to the feudal era for something. She wondered what.
"common you two, Grandfather's ready now!" Kagome's mother said. Inuyasha jolted up, and without warning took Kagome's hand and walked out.
"I-Inuyasha what are you doing?" she asked. Inuyasha's ears twitched.
"I just...want this to be really special for you," he said. Kagome smiled. She loved how Inuyasha would get so caring when something special was happening. When they arrived outside, a pink cake with 17 candles and a picture of Kagome on it sat on the table. Kagome walked towards it. Grandfather, her mother, Inuyasha and Sota all watched.
"make a wish, Kagome!" her mother said.
Before making her wish, she glanced at Inuyasha, who tried to stand tall. He seemed nervous.
I wish...I will stay with Inuyasha...forever. She thought, and blew out her candles, with one candle still lit. One boyfriend...Inuyasha. she thought and blew it out. They clapped and Kagome cut the cake.
It was delicious, Inuyasha especially enjoyed it.
"you like it?" she asked.
"yes, it's very good." he replied, gulping his last bit of cake. Kagome laughed and took another bite. She was so happy, happier than she had ever been. Here she was, with her family and the person she loved most in the world, Inuyasha. And she had just turned 17.
"presents!" Sota yelled to Kagome. She smiled and put down her plate, she took Inuyasha's hand and they walked over. Sota handed her his present first. It was a beautiful bead bracelet, like Inuyasha's necklace.
"oh, it's beautiful." Kagome said and put it on her wrist. "thankyou Sota." Next Kagome's grandfather gave her his. It was a long, blue kimono with sakura blossoms on it. It shone in as the sun set.
"oh my gosh! It's so pretty..." Kagome said and measured it against herself. "thankyou so much, grandfather!" she said.
"yes, Kagome. It was made from the ancient cloth of the robe of the princess Izayoi. Enjoy it, it cost me a fortune!" he said. Inuyasha's eyes widened, he touched the silk of the robe.
"Izayoi was my...mother," he said. Kagome hugged him.
Kagome's mother's present was a barret of a beautiful sakura flower. Kagome clipped it in her hair.
"you look beautiful, Kagome," her mother said. Inuyasha took her hand.
"Kagome, come here for my present," he said. Kagome got up and Inuyasha took her behind the sacred tree. The cherry blossoms were falling as he held her hand. He hugged her and reached into his kimono.
"Kagome...I love you so much and...my present is..." he said. Kagome was confused. Why did he have to bring her here? He took out a shining, turqoise and black ring. It had no diamond or gold or silver, but it was equally beautiful.
"will you be my mate?" he asked and put the ring in her hand. Kagome, stunned held the ring and looked at him. Her Inuyasha.
"yes! Of course!" she cried in happiness and leaped into his arms.
(hehe isn't it good?? Inuyasha and Kagome are a perfect couple!)
