"Watch out Shippau!" Miroku yelled. He ran more rapidly away Inuyasha who was pursuing him and Shippau.

"Miroku! Get on my back!" Miroku looked at Shippau strangely, and obeyed the fox demon quickly.

A gold glow engulfed Shippau and he began to take form. He was now a huge fox with soft gold fur and eyes. Long teeth protruded from his mouth as he ran and Inuyasha began to fall behind.

Inuyasha soared into the air and came down on Shippau's back, his claws digging into the skin. Shippau snarled and ran faster.

"Hurry Shippau!"

Inuyasha's hair blew back from his face as Shippau gained speed. He lifted his claws and moved forward. Miroku watched him approach.

Miroku stood up and found his balance as Shippau glided through the air. "I don't want to hurt you Inuyasha!" He held his staff out in front of him.

Inuyasha ran at him and met the staff. The barrier held him for a second before he went crashing through it. Miroku thrust his staff into Inuyasha's stomach. He snarled.

"Get back Inuyasha!" Miroku backed down as Inuyasha grasped his staff from his hands. Inuyasha stepped towards Miroku, his eyes red and a smile at the corner of his mouth.

They were almost standing on Shippau's head now and the end of the Desert of Illusions was in view.

Inuyasha suddenly let a rasp laugh escape his lips as he raised his claws. "You should have backed down monk." He snarled. He brought down his claws and hit Miroku in the chest.

Inuyasha thrust his hand out of Miroku's torso. Blood seeped from the wound and covered Miroku's upper body. He whimpered slightly looking at Inuyasha before falling off of Shippau.

As Miroku fell he uttered one word. A word so strong it would make anyone who knew him curl up and sob. A word that could signal someone leaving…or someone moving on to a new life and that word was, "good-bye."

Inuyasha watched him fall. Not even the slightest bit of regret or remorse swept over him. The only emotion showing on his face was a smile in the corner of his mouth. His eyes were full of a look of fun and his heart being the black heart that it now was.

Shippau turned his head and looked at Inuyasha. He was unable to talk in his demonic form but his mind was racing.

Miroku! How could you Inuyasha! After all he helped you with! The only emotion you show is a look of pleasure! Shippau snarled loudly and showed his large fangs which were about the size of Inuyasha. His eyes were full of tears that he struggled to hold in.

He ran. He ran faster than the howling wind of a hurricane. He left the desert far behind and entered a forest with Inuyasha on his back. Then something caught his eyes and he looked down and gasped.
