Things calmed down. After Inuyasha ceased being disappointed from the fight he focused on enjoying this state of peace. It was new to him. He had never been given a break he always felt something would happen. He knew sometime soon things would change. But he still hoped he was wrong.
"Inuyasha" Sango said
"Yea? What now?" Inuyasha said jokingly
"Come on over foods ready"
"So I take it the fight was to easy" Miroku asked
"Yea as always. I had forgotten about it till ya had to bring it up"
"Sorry but on the bright side life seems so easy now. We can relax. And well I’m just glad I no longer have to be afraid of my wind tunnel engulfing me."
"Yes I am to" replied Sango (As known Sango and Miroku are married)
"Well I’m just happy that’s all over" Shippou remarked cheerfully
Inuyasha grunted at Shippou.
"Hey guys I don’t feel that good" Kagome said looking pale.
"What’s wrong Kagome?" Asked Sango worried about her best friend
"Oh I don’t know just my stomach is all."
"Are you going to be ok?" Inuyasha asked worried
"Um I think so Inuyasha could you come here? Please?" Kagome asked seeming as though she had to tell him something major.
With that he got up and walked off with Kagome.
"What is it? Are you ok?" Inuyasha asked worried sick about her.
"Huh? Oh yeah I’m fine I just wanted to talk to you alone" She said with a whole new rouge of color back to her like he was used to seeing.
"Um ok? But just for the record DON’T EVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN!!!" Inuyasha screamed angered by the fact he was worried and here nothing was wrong.
"Ok Ok god sorry" Kagome responded "Well Inuyasha I was wondering what you were saying earlier today. You know that you didn’t love Kikyo and stuff."
Inuyasha’s heart stopped it seemed he was afraid she would bring it up. He couldn't tell her he thought. ’Oh god why did I even open my big mouth’
"Oh yeah um yes I don’t love Kikyo anymore that's it yup" He said with a smile he forced
"Well what did you want to say after that?"
"Um well you see there’s this thing about my feelings and well it’s um hard to explain right now"
"Um ok then" Kagome said completely confused by what he just said.
As they just stared at each other tensions grew. ‘Damn it Inuyasha you love her! Why must you push her away? You care about her. She’s taught you to have faith again. To put trust in another. Why can’t you just tell her? Just do it now. Something will happen to ruin the good times. It always does. Tell her. Keep her close.’ Inuyasha keep trying to tell Kagome but with every attempt he came out short. ‘Argg just say it already!’
"Kagome" Inuyasha finally managed "there is something you need to know"
"What is it" Kagome asked relived he finally spoke after that awkward silence.
"Well I know I’ve pushed allot of people away. Even though I um don’t really mean to. It’s the way I’ve learned to be. As you know it’s hard for me to put my trust into people. I show my loyalty to people in different ways. But there is something that has plagued my mind since we meet. As you know well I loved Kikyo. It was so hard to let her go. And to this day I admit that I miss her." Kagome swallowed hard thinking the worst that he was going to say he still wanted Kikyo. But Inuyasha continued "But she’s part of the past. Yes there was a time where I was in love with her. But now my heart belongs to another. This person once again gave me confidence in love. This person changed me. There's no denying that my full love goes to this person. This person is the one I protect and want closer to me than anything. Than life itself. It’s hard for me to e expressing all of this, and yet I feel I owe it to them to the best of my ability to say how I feel the best I can. And to apologize for putting them through so much grief. I don’t know if you know this but Kagome you have my heart as long as your willing to except it. I know I hurt you in the past and it hurts me to think of you in pain. Especially when I caused it. So if you don’t want me I will understand but I just hope that you will take me."
Kagome looked at him in amazement.
"Inuyasha" she chocked out. He now looked at the ground afraid of what she was going to say. She went on though. "Inuyasha of course I will except you. Through all we've been through I thought it was clear that I loved you. I was so afraid you would choose Kikyo. Through all of this the only thing I wanted more than anything was you." Kagome was now crying. And she almost fell when Inuyasha caught her.
"Kagome I want nothing more than you too. Please forgive me. I love you."
"I love you too" She said now in a soft low barley audible voice.
The night was spent under the stars together. Kagome had finally been able to stop crying.
"I hate it when you cry" Inuyasha said
"Oh yeah why’s that?"
"As I’ve said I hate to see you in pain"
Kagome giggled "But you wouldn’t leave me to cry alone would you?"
"No I’d want to hold you and make it better" he said sweetly and then went to finish by saying "and if someone made you cry I would kill them"
"Well that’s nice to know but you can’t just kill everything Inuyasha"
"Oh and why not?" He asked smugly knowing her answer just humoring the conversation
"Because if it were a human who did it then you would be in huge trouble"
"Yeah Yeah I know"
He had been holding her the whole time just taking in her scent. ‘I cannot believe this. I actually told her. I no longer have to keep my hands off. Well certain areas but I can now hold her. And she loves me too. That’s by far the best part’ Inuyasha smiled to himself. And then he found Kagome asleep in his arms. ‘My sweet little Kagome’ He thought liking to sound of it.
