They reach the village just as the sun sets. Inuyasha walks into the hut and lays Kagome down on the cot like matress gentely. *Kagome...* Inuyasha stares down at her gentle face that was once full of light but is now saddened by many reasons of which Inuyasha does not know. Koga barges in "What kind of mess did you get her into this time mutt face?!" Koga yells. Inuyasha turns to face Koga with a guilty expression on his face. "I..." Inuyasha tries to explain how Kikyo tried to set him against Kagome but nothing comes out.
Inuyasha leaves the hut with Koga still nagging him on and on about what he did to hurt Kagome this time until Miroku and Sango finally get him to shut up. Inuyasha walks up on the hill and sits down. He stares up at the indigo sky. * Kagome can't keep staying here..its way to dangerous and I'm not about to lose her....I love her...* within that moemnt he realzies the he admited it to Kikyo when she asked him. He wonders if Kagome heard and if she did what was she thinking? Inuyasha's ears twitch as he hears the soft pattern of footsteps. He turns around to see Kagome only a few feet away. "What is it?" he says softly with a small smile on his face. *uh..Inuyasha is smiling he never usually smiles what's gotten into him?* Kagome blinks as Inuyasha quickly stands up.
"You should be resting Kagome." Inuyasha says. "Yeah but...I came to see if you were okay" Just as she finishes she sees Kikyo's soul gatherers up in the sky. "So are you going to go see what-" She says sadly. Inuyasha doesn't say anything all he does is stare up in the sky as her soul gatherers fly deeper into the forest heading far away from the village.They stand in silence for a while until they hear a pierceing scream. "Kikyo..She must be in trouble.." He says worried. "I'm sorry..." He tells Kagome as he runs deep into the forest at verious speeds. Kagome's knees weaken and she falls to the ground on her knees. *She tries to kill me and yet...he still goes to her..* Kagome thinks.
Inuyasha runs through the forest following Kikyo's sent "I'm coming Kikyo.." He says. He come to a stop as he sees a giant soul gatherer choking Kikyo. Kikyo has a terrified look on her face. Inuyasha pulls out teusiga "Kikyo!!" he screams. Kikyo's terrified look becomes an evil grin as she sees Inuyasha. The giant soul gatherer lets go of Kikyo and moves toward Inuyasha. The soul gatherer wraps himself around Inuyasha squeezing him tightly so he cannot get loose. Kikyo's other two white soul gatherers come and pick Kikyo up. "You come for me even after all I did?" Kikyo says still grinning. "You..you tricked me!" Inuyasha screams. *She tricked me but for what reason...KAGOME!* he finally realizes why Kikyo lured him deep into the forest it was because she wanted Kagome. Kagome has her eyes to the ground "Why?" She says to herself out loud. "It's because he loves her.. he will never stop loving her no matter how much you want him to." Says a voice form behind her. She gasps as she turns around slowly.
Inuyasha looks at Kikyo. "hm...it seems you don't love the girl Kagome as much as you claim you do other wise you'd be there to stop Sess-" Kikyo holds her tounge. *he's fallen right into my trap just as I said..The girls soul will soon be mine..thanks to Inuyasha.* Kikyo smiles. "Thank you Inuyasha. Her soul is going to be mine now all thanks to you." She says. "What did you plan?!" Inuyasha screams fighting to loosen himself from the soul gatherers squeeze. "INUYASHA!" Inuyasha's ears twitch as he hears Kagomes voice. "Kagome!" He screams. Inuyasha forces himself free from the soul collector after he gets loose enough he uses teusiga to finish the job. "Run to her Inuyasha she'll be dead by the time you get to her." Inuyasha runs off in the direction of Kagome's screams.
Sesshomaru grabs Kagome by the neck. "I wouldn't bother. Inuyasha doesn't care if you live or die." Sesshomaru whispers in Kagomes ear as he strokes his claws lightly back and forth on Kagome's soft neck. "You..wrong." Kagome says with tears running down her cheeks. "i'm wrong am I? then why is Inuyasha not here to save you?" Sesshomaru says now sinking his posionous claws deep into Kagome's neck.
Inuyasha runs through the forest searching for any sign of Kagome but he can't even smell her sent "The hill.." He says. *I'm sorry Kagome..I betrayed you again..* Inuyasha reaches the hill and sees Sesshomaru digging his claws into Kagome's neck. "Stop it!" Kagome scream in pain. Her breathing becomes heavier and her voice begins to fade. "Inuyasha.." She says with her last breath. Sesshomaru lets go of her neck and throws her on the ground "Hmph! all humans are weak!" Blood pours out of her neck slowly. "Sesshomaru you bastard! Why did you do this!?" Inuyasha screams. "It was not I who planned this it was the miko Kikyo." Inuyasha ignores Sesshomaru and stares down at Kagome's body. *Kagome..* Inuyasha looks at Sesshomaru and pulls out teusiga "You're gonna wish you've never done that to Kagome! I'm gonna chop of your hands and stick them down your throat!" Sesshomaru picks Kagome up by the hair. "I would try anything little brother...if you do the girl dies!" Inuyasha tenses up and puts teusiga back in its sheath. "Damn you.."He says gritting his teeth.
Sesshomaru picks Kagome up bridle style with her head and arms being dead weight and dangling over his arm. "Well since you do not care for this girl I supose I could use her for something." Sesshomaru says walking away slowly "Oh yes and if you chase after me now I shall kill her faster.". Sesshomaru says. Kagome opens her eyes weakly. "Inuyasha.." She says faintly She reaches out her petite hand toward Inuyasha with what strength she has left. "No Kagome!" He screams and he to reaches out his hand to her also. Within 3 minutes Sesshomaru is gone deep in the forest with Kagome.
