Chapter 1: The Plan

It was the last week of summer vacation. It has been 3 years since Kagome moved to America. Inuyasha and her were about to start their Jr. year of High School.

Inuyasha was flying home from his one month vacation in Hawaii. He was trying to sleep, when his cell phone rang.

"Hello?" he said answering it in a not so nice tone.

"Hi Inuyasha." Kikyo said. "Did I call you at a bad time?"

"Kikyo? No of course not. What's up?"

"Inuyasha we need to talk."

We need to talk. Those were every guys favorite words. They went right along with, "Let's just be friends" and "It's not you it's me."

"What is it?"

"I don't think we should see each other any more." Kikyo said sadly.

"What!? Why? Is their someone else?" Inuyasha asked beginning to feel pissed.

"No that no it. It's just.........I can't. I'm sorry."

Before he could ask why, or even respond, she hung up. It was hard for Kikyo to do this but she had no choice. Her parents flipped out beyond belief when they found out that Inuyasha was a half demon. She fought about it with them for a long time but in the end they won. Kikyo was forced to break up with Inuyasha.

While Inuyasha was thinking about what had just happened his phone rang again.

"What?!!!" he yelled into the receiver.

"Hello to you too Inuyasha." Miroku said.

"Right sorry." Inuyasha said still mad.

"I take it Kikyo called you."

"Yep. What of it? And how did you know that?"

"She told me. I had to bug her about it endlessly, but she gave in."

"So I would assume that you know why she broke up with me?"

"I do. But you have to promise not to get mad at me for telling you."

"Fine Just tell me."

"Well it seems her family, well, her parents, are very anti-demon. When they found out you were half-demon, they kind of freaked out. Kikyo put up a good fight, but she didn't the battle. She was forced to break up with you.........And not only that but her parents picked out a new boy-friend for her."

"Great, just great. Another time where being a half demon pushes people away."

Miroku had no idea what to say to this so he remained silent.

"So what's the plan?" Inuyasha asked.

"Well if you can't have her, I can only think of one thing to do."

"Which would be?"

"Make her jealous. Kikyo still really likes you so go out with some else. Not only will it make her jealous, but it will distract you." (A/N: Don't you hate the way guys think? no offence to any guys reading this. lol)

"Ok...but who?............No, not one of your cousins."

"I wasn't going to suggest that! I only tired that once and you won't ever let me forget it."

"That's right I won't. So you have an idea?"

"Actually, I do." Miroku said smiling. "I hear Kagome's finally moving back to Tokyo."

"Uhhh.....Just one question... How would going out with that make Kikyo jealous."

"Kikyo would be jealous even if you were dating one of the ugliest girls in the world."

"Which I would be." Inuyasha said smiling.

Miroku started laughing and fell off the chair he had been sitting on. "I'm ok!" He said jumping to his feet. "...........Ugh. Inuyasha I have to go. My mom's having a cow."

"Alright. Talk to you later."

"See you."

"Maybe this won't be so bad." Inuyasha said quietly to him self.
