A.N. Howdy do da day mofo's! In this chapter I won't have Kagome, Sesshoumaru, Jiki, Sayaiko or Akisha in it. We will just catch up with Inuyasha and the gang. There will be much anger. Muhahahahaha! I know I'm frickin' evil. Read. Review. Flame. Enjoy!

Chapter 12: Missing

"What do you mean he's gone?" Inuyasha snickered at Sango.

"He's just not here. When Miroku and I woke up he just wasn't here. I sent Kirara to retrace his scent but she came back without anything." Sango explained her voice full of worry.

Inuyasha had just returned from his treetop and found Sango and Miroku frantically searching for Shippou.

"The stupid fox was slowing us down with his whimpering anyway." he stated carelessly.

"Inuyasha! Shippou could have gotten hurt or kidnapped. You have to help us find him." Sango yelled.

"I don't have to do nothing' but get the jewel back from that dumb broad, besides if Shippou were really in trouble he would leave those screeching mushrooms behind and I don't smell or hear any," the Inu sneered.

"What has happened to you Inuyasha? You-you used to actually care about us. We're your friends for Kami-sama sake!" She said with an astonished tremble in her throat.

"Feh! I never asked any of you to be my friend or to join me with Kagome. I was just fine finding the jewel shards with her alone. All of you just slowed me down. I now see why my brother seems to hate your kind so much." he spat out.

"My kind! Inuyasha are you serious!!!" she recoiled stunned, "Fine then you can go get the jewel back yourself. It seems you are just too blind to see that you are part human as well and it's us `humans' that have helped you gain possession of the shards in the first place!" she retorted harshly.

"Feh, see if I care." he said while turning his back to her. His ears twitched excessively when Sango began to stomp away.

"Tsk tsk tsk………Inu-chan you seem to have the worst luck with woman." a silky voice said from behind Inuyasha.

"I have just enough luck to have you, Riomi." he responded turning to her bearing a fang with his mischievous grin.

She blushed slightly and asked, "Will that be the last you will see of the others?"

Inuyasha changed his expression to one of discontent, "Feh! They just won't travel with me anymore but I'm sure I'll see them again at my brothers' fortress. They won't give up on finding that wench so easily."

Riomi grinned happily and grinned pulled Inuyasha into a loose embrace, "Does this mean it's just you and me now?"

He returned the affectionate gesture and replied coolly in her ear, "Of course."

"Come on Miroku we have to find Shippou and get Kagome back ourselves." Sango huffed stomping down a dirt path while the confused monk behind her.

Miroku broke out of Sango's grasp causing her to pause and furiously stare at him.

"Lady Sango, what is troubling you and what do you mean by `ourselves'?"

"Inuyasha doesn't care what happens to any of us anymore so we will be better off on our own."

"I knew one day it would come to this. Where is he I can try and talk to him?"

"No Miroku! He has been no help on our journey to retrieve Kagome-san. Let's just try and find Shippou ok." Sango responded hesitantly.

"Lady Sango, I understand you anger for Kagome leaving and Shippou's disappearance but we need Inuyasha with us. We need as much help as we can get to defeat stray demons en route to Kagome and finding Shippou."

Sango rolled her eyes at his obliviance, "Inuyasha is the reason for Kagome leaving in the first place and now because of that Shippou's gone."

"That makes no sense." he said scrunching his eyebrows.

"Miroku………the day Kagome left with Sesshoumaru, she found Inuyasha with some other youkai woman having sex, she was heart broken. She told me that she would find some way to gain revenge, so I guess leaving with Inuyasha's brother was part of her plan.

"This is why I yelled at Inuyasha when she left and I didn't tell you because she didn't want me to. I'm telling you now because it's the only way you will be able to understand the truth about Inuyasha." she bit her bottom lip and waited for his reaction.

Miroku gave a sullen sickly look as if he had just been inflicted with an incurably disease. "S-sss-so this is why Inuyasha's been so distant………Did Shippou know?"

"I don't think so at least I hope not." she replied in a softer tone.

"Well let's hurry and find Shippou then." Miroku said with a blank stare.

Miroku and Sango walked side by side in an awkward silence and went on search for the young kitsune.

"Don't worry Kagome, I'm coming for you." Shippou whispered determined to find Kagome himself.

"Hey kid!" called out a voice of familiarity.

A.N. More character plot! Muhahahahaha! I the hater of Sea monkey's will call this a cliffy hanger for a short time because I will post soon I promise! Don't you love my evilness?
