Kagome awoke the next morning and rubbed her head. “Did what I think happened last night actually happen? I did have a bit of sake beforehand.” Kagome lifted the covers and saw that she was nude. Slowly, not fully sure what she would she, she turned to her right. No one was there. “Thank the Gods,” she thought, turning over, “I really didn't…” Kagome's eyes went wide as she saw the young hanyou asleep beside her. “Oh no. I did do it. But maybe… does he have his clothes on?” Kagome lifted the sheets that covered him and saw what she had hoped not to see. He, too, was nude. Just then, Inuyasha yawned and turned to face her. His eyes widened and he looked beneath the covers at himself, then her. “Shit. Did we really…?” Kagome nodded “I guess we both had a little to drink last night, huh?” Kagome asked, trying to make light of the situation. “Guess so. Well, I guess I need to help Isha soon.” “Tonight would be best. I'll make sure that everyone gives the two of you your privacy.” A shadow was suddenly cast over them. “Looks like you two had fun last night. And I thought you weren't really mates.” “Isha! This… this isn't what it looks like,” Inuyasha blurted out. “Come on. I was right outside. I heard you guys last night. Sounded like you were having a real good time.” “Please, Isha,” Kagome pleaded, “don't tell the others what we did.” “Aw, don't worry, Kagome, I won't. I was just messin' with ya. I already said I don't care what you guys do together. As long as you're fine with the situation between me and Inuyasha…” Kagome nodded. “Well, then, I'll let you two get cleaned up and try to keep the others occupied while Inuyasha sneaks outta that window over there.” “Why do I have to go out the window?” “If you do, they won't know you spent the night here. They'll just assumed you stormed off somewhere.” “Good thinking, Isha!” “Thanks, Kagome. See ya tonight, Inu-kun.”

 

Later on, the others decided to inquire more into Isha's past. “So, Isha, did you say you lived with Inuyasha's family?” Miroku asked, while everyone sat around the fire. “Yes. It wasn't until I came of age that I went to live with another family.” “Was it Maro's family that you stayed with?” Sango asked. “Yes, actually. That was how we first met. It was also the reason I didn't feel comfortable mating with him. We had just become too close.” “But you lived with Inuyasha so much longer.” “I know, Shippo, but he and I had a different relationship. As often as he saved from Sesshomaru's advances, I felt that he was my protector, my soul mate.” Kagome looked shocked. “Sesshomaru came onto you? But, he hates hanyous.” “He didn't used to. In fact, he was a lot nicer when he was younger. I guess when he was given Tenseiga instead of Tetsuiga, something just snapped.” Inuyasha grumbled at the mention of his brother's name. Miroku cleared his throat and asked, “Well, to change the subject, are you and Inuyasha going to, uh, break that curse tonight?” Isha blushed slightly and rubbed the back of her head. “I…I guess so. I mean, uh, are we, Inu-kun?” Inuyasha looked up at his female hanyou friend. “I suppose tonight's as good a time as any. And since tomorrow is a full moon, we'll find out first- hand whether it worked or not.” “Alright then,” Isha said, now standing. “Then, I guess I'll go get ready. See ya soon, Inu-kun.”
