It was 7:00. Hojo would go to pick up Kagome any moment. Kagome was fluttering around the house, checking her reflection to make sure that everything would be perfect for her Valentine's Day dinner.

Kagome was brushing her hair when the doorbell rang. She grabbed her purse and opened the door to meet warm, welcome eyes. "Hey, honey.", Hojo said. He leaned in to softly kiss her. Their lips brushed passionately against each other. Kagome smiled as Hojo took her hand and led her to his car to open to the door for her.

Kagome was the first to speak once they were both in the car. "So where are we going tonight?"

Hojo responded warmly, a bit too warmly, but Kagome was too smitten over him to notice. "I'm taking you to the Ritzera, you'll love it."

Kagome smiled warmly as she thought she knew he was going to be right... how very wrong she was.

--------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------

Kagome was finishing her wine as she noticed there was an awkward silence between her and Hojo. She noticed that he hadn't been too talkative. She was about to break the ice with a different topic, but it was Hojo who first broke the silence.

"Kagome.. These past few months have been wonderful... enchanting. I've had such a wonderful time being with you. I've loved every moment that we've spent together, but" he paused inbetween words as he saw Kagome's teary eyes, he looked away and continued "but, I think it would be best if we didn't see each other. It's not that I don't love you it's just that.. that-"

Kagome blew up in tears and range as she interrupted him, " That what!? You don't love someone and break up with them, you just don't. So either you're fucking crazy, or you don't love me!!"

Not wanting to hear the rest of his words of breaking up, or not wanting to see him at all she walked out of the restuarant, causing heads to turn as she stormed out.

The brisk cold air slapped at her face as she hailed for a cab. Tears were streaming down her face as she entered the cab. She almost forgot to pay the man as she was in shock. She stumbled out of the cab blindly and hurried for her door. She clumsily slid her shoes off and went to the kitchen. She took an empty glass, and filled it with wine. "A drink to remember.", she thought. She finished the drink in sips. "Another to forget." Kagome finished the drink in one gulp.

Shuffling miserably, Kagome took the bottle back to her room.
