Chapter 1: Getting there is half the fun?

The time of the new moon was soon coming and Kagome was planning. Oh nothing to major, her plans involved InuYasha coming to her time during "his time" of the month. She has always been concerned about InuYasha when he was in his human form, InuYasha always felt so vulnerable, even scared. She knew in her time he would be safe.

Now, just to convince InuYasha. The day before the "big night" the gang was all sitting by the fire in Kaede's village. With two more shards found within the past week and no hint of Naraka in the area, the group was thinking about a well deserved rest. All except for one of course, InuYasha.

"Feh you humans always talking about resting and sleeping, resting and sleeping! We have shards to find damn it, not to mention Nuraku". InuYahsa snapped at everyone.

Kagome just rolled her eyes, at his usual outburst, the word "sit" just waiting to be said. She was about ready to spring her plan into action, asking InuYasha to come with her to her time during the new moon. She knew she would need reinforcements so she already told Miroku and Sango of her plan.

Kagome spoke first. "InuYasha we know what will happen to you tomorrow night, would it be all that terrible for you to take a little break?" "Feh" said InuYasha. "I fought demons with my weak human body before I could do it again". "But what about the rest of us?" Miroku spoke up. "My wind tunnel needs a rest and I know Sango has more bruises than she can count". "How do you know about my bruises monk?" Sango said while a blush formed across her face. "Were you spying on me while I was bathing AGAIN?!"

Kagome thought quick to change the subject before Miroku could say something perverted and get his face slapped for what seemed like the hundredth time. "See InuYasha" Kagome said, "We need to rest, and I have the perfect place in which you can do it." "Oh shit" InuYasha thought to himself, "she planning something", InuYasha always became a little nervous when Kagome acted this way, he thought back of her brother Sota, when he had that crush on that girl. Her plans had the best intentions but always seemed to leave him embarrassed, and thinking of things he should not be thinking about. Like how cute Kagome looks when she is making one of these plans. His heart is with Kikyo….right?

"Hello InuYasha are you listening to me?" Kagome said. "He's probably thinking about Kikyo right now, Kagaome whimpered to herself'. "Don't think about it that!" Kagome yelled at herself. Kagome knew InuYasha had chosen Kikyo, but she could dream couldn't she?

"What already?" snapped InuYasha, "what is going on in that brain of yours Kagome?""Well" Kagome responded back and calm and as sweet as possible, "that after the sun sets tomorrow and your form changes, you come with me to my time". "It will be great fun InuYasha, trust me!" "What did I tell you Kagome about having fun? " InuYasha barked back, "I can't have fun or relax or anything like that!" He practically roared in her ear. Somewhere a few feet away InuYasha hears a little kitsune whisper "what an asshole InuYasha is, Kagome is only thinking about him". Miroku and Sango both agreed and wondered why they did not hear a bellowing "sit" from Kagome.

When InuYasha turned to Kagome she had her head down and saw big tears running down her chin. "Damn it don't cry Kagome" InuYasha pleaded to her, "You know I can't stand it when you cry". "Well shit!" Kagome screamed at him, taking him by surprise by her language. "Don't make me cry then InuYasha!" "Fine then, Kagome I will go with you" InuYasha yelled back at Kagome. "No" screamed Kagome "I don't want you to come with me" InuYasha yelled back "I am going dam it and you can't stop me bitch!" Miroko whispered to Sango, "I though Kagome wanted InuYasha to come with her?' Sango just shook her head and headed to the spring. She needed a warm bath and some time alone. "Don't even think about Monk", Sango said to Miroko. As innocent, (as much as a perverted monk can be) Miroko replied "my dear Sango, I am devastated you say that to me, unless this is really an invitation that you meant."

Kagome and InuYasha were distracted by their argument by the sound of a very hard slap. Kagome and InuYasha shook their heads in unison. "So it's settled" Kagome smiled up at InuYasha, making his heart skip a quick beat. "It's a date!" Kagome screamed to herself, "tell me I just did not say that out loud, please!" InuYasha just answered her with his typical "feh" and walked away.

As InuYasha was walking, he thought of Kagome's last words "a date". What was "a date"? He wondered if it was anything like the mating rituals he heard about. "Did I and Kikyo ever date?" Maybe he should go and ask Miroko before he left to Kagome's world
