It's easier to go

Chapter31 Getting...

Thanks for the great reviews!I know I have been cruel and all, but that's the way it goes.

This chapter is also going to be a little cruel .

Sorry, JA!

Black. Shadows of endless black, kept floating around the place, hiding it with their infernal dance from the eyes of others. No single surce of light could be seen, no hope could rise from the ashes of what , once was a human soul. The scent of putredness, decompousure, filled the air, making it impossible to breathe. It was like this horrid and dreadful place existed for so long , that everything was by the one enemy of time itself.

Death.

The only thing which was a constant here.

The only thing each shadow chanted for, while continuing it's neverending dance of total obscurity.

The only thing which made this mortal soul deceivingly calm.

Three days. She had been missing for three days.

Sesshoumaru sighed while turning in his chair, in his office. He needed to work, he needed it desperetly.

He needed a constant, and now he realised that before his constant was her.

After searching for like a madman for two days, he realised that it would really do no good to crumble.

He sent twenty private eyes out everywhere, especially to her father, who had conveniently disappeard out of the city as well.

He needed to know where he was and he fully intended to kill the man if he had harmed his Kagome.

Here it was again. That tiny word , minuscule . Three characters and yet so much more.

His. She was his. Everything about her was his.

He only hoped she would realise that, realise that there was no way for who did this to get away with it.

Cold, her blood was beginning to turn into ice.

Although she didn't care much.

She was going to die anyway, so why care?

Why harbor the will to live when there was no reason and no possibility to live at all?

Then it suddenly hit her.

She did have a reason. Shippou, Rin, Sango, Miroku and Sesshoumaru. They were all her reasons. Now she had friends, she had a love to keep her alive.

But then again, what right had she to all that in the first place if she had comitted the worst crime possible.

She remembered her grandmother well when she told her: "Taking anothers life, will result in yours being taken as well."

She was guilty, and that ment they had to go on without her, forget her, let her be one of those faces you recall and you don't know from where.

Suddenly an image of Sesshoumaru flooded her mind.

He would be angry, very angry. Even in death he would pursue her, if only to punish her. But why?

`Because you are his, and nothing which is his will ever surrender without a battle.` a quiet voice told her.

Looking around she saw no one, only shadows.

But as she looked she recognised the room. The familiarity of it struck her oddly.

Her brothers room, the room in which he had died.

`Do you think death is eternal?` the same quiet voice asked, startling her with it's familiar sound.

Her brothers voice. Clear. Calm. Strong.

"Why?" she asked into the black void.

`You remember. I called you and so you were ment to come.` the voice answered again.

"To punish me?" she asked in a trembling voice.

` To tell you, you did not do this to me.

To tell you, there is no way somebody here might destroy you. Because you belong to someone else now.

Someone who will never let harm come to you.

And to tell you, that I love you.` the voice finaly said.

"Why ?" she asked. "Why I are you telling me all this?"

` Because you have suffered anothers destiny.

When I died, you were sweet, funny, kind, friendly.

Then you became bitter, lost, hurt.

But then again, when you met him, your true self came back. You argued, showed kindness, love and care.

You should have never lost these things in the first place. I love you sis, and we will someday meet again.

But not now. You are not free to die yet. You are kept here but not by chains . Stay.` the voice said, slowly fading away.

Getting up from her crumbled position, Kagome stood there understanding for the first time.

"I love you too little brother. And don't worry we will meet again, but not now. I can't die seeing that my soul and heart belong to another." She whispered back.

"And now to get the hell out of here!" she finaly said.

"Sesshoumaru?" Totousai asked stepping into his employers office. Blinking, Sesshoumaru turned to him motioning for him to continue.

"We have found out that Kagome's brother has been murdered as you informed us as well. The only new thing about it is that no child could have ever done that.

We also found where Kagome is most probably kept.

I thought you wanted to go with us." Totousai said .

Sesshoumaru looked at him and almost ran out the door.

He had never seen such cold fury and determination .

And he knew perfectly well, that for such a master of martial arts, like his young employer , this had never happened before.

He pittied the man, who dared cross him now.

He would die a horrid death.
