Chapter 8

 

 

“ I might break up with him,” Kagome told Sango softly as they walked to class.

 

“ But why Kagome?” Sango asked concerned.

 

“ It just doesn't feel right. I gave it a chance but I don't feel any REAL chemistry.” Kagome was whispering to Sango now.

 

“ Is it another guy?” Sango whispered back. Kagome gulped and laughed nervously.

 

“ Why no! No way.” Sango slapped herself in the forehead.

 

“ I'm such an idiot I know you wouldn't do that.” Sango laughed, “You miss goody two shoes ever two time any body. When that day comes that'll be the day that I let Miroku grab my ass without slapping him.”

 

` I hope you feel patient today. My dear Sango if only you knew the truth.' Kagome smiled inwardly, for once in her life she had a secret from Sango.

 

“ The guy adores you Kagome! Why ditch him, don't tell me you harbor some feelings for someone else.” Sango burst into laughter. “Like Inuyasha!” She held her sides as she laughed. “You with that arrogant bad boy Inuyasha. Oh geez that's as impossible as you ever cheating on anyone.” Kagome began laughing but for a completely different reason.

 

“ Me with that self centered, over confident, dim witted sex fiend Inuyasha?!” `I love that man.' “ NO WAY!” Kagome smiled.

 

“ I bet he just acts all bad boy to over compensate for something.” Sango wiggled her eyebrows.

 

“ Oh most definitely!” `Definitely not,' Kagome chuckled as they walked into their first period class.

 

 

 

Inuyasha grumbled as he sat in class. This charade that he and Kagome had going on couldn't last forever. They both hated berating and belittling one another. Hell he loved her. `That's right' he told the masculinity center of his brain. `Yea I love her, fuck you Pride!' He sniffed the air lightly. She was coming into class. She walked in with Sango who didn't take one look at Inuyasha. No one knew about Kagome and him. Kagome's eyes locked with his for an instant and she smiled quickly before continuing her conversation with Sango. Miroku was sitting next to Inuyasha, thoroughly amused by the way his best friend was staring at Kagome.

 

“ You're never gonna get her.” Miroku said placing a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder. “ Like I told you from day one. Dude, she's with Kouga and she's happy. You got Kikyou now.. Be happy.” Inuyasha wanted to laugh and tell Miroku that he had gotten her and that she wasn't happy with dumb piece of shit wolf because she was in love with him.

 

“ Maybe you're right.” Inuyasha smirked, might as well entertain that guy and act like he was giving up. It was funny sometimes. Kagome took her respectable seat in front of Inuyasha purposely ignoring his presence. That's how they played their game in public.

 

“ You're looking quite lovely Ms. Higurashi.” Inuyasha said loud enough for their friends to hear.

 

“ Oh shove it,” Kagome snarled, ` And the game begins.'

 

“ Kiss your mother with that mouth?” Kagome crossed her arms pouting.

 

“ I am NOT in the mood for games mister! School is for learning and I intend on attending a university. I can't just buy my way through life like you.” Kagome barked winking at him inconspicuously before turning around. Miroku leaned over to Sango and whispered.

 

“ Is it just me or does she hate Inuyasha more and more every day?” Sango nodded.

 

“ It does seem like it huh. They're just too different to get along.” It took every fiber of Inuyasha and Kagome's self control from laughing. Kagome's arm shot up at exactly 8:00.

 

“ Yes Ms. Higurashi?”

 

“ May I go to the restroom Mrs. Ono?”

 

“ Of course Ms. Higurashi.” Kagome smiled before rushing out the door.

 

 

3…2…1

 

 

Inuyasha's hand went up now.

 

“ What is it Takahashi?” The teacher now scowled at the silver haired hanyou.

 

“ I have a stomach ache.. I need to go to the nurse.” Inuyasha said as he held his stomach not even bothering to act sick.

 

“ Go.” Inuyasha gave her a toothy grin.

 

“ Thank you for your amazingly infinite generosity.” Inuyasha bowed to the teacher causing several students to laugh at his smart ass behavior.

 

“ Hurry up.” The teacher muttered before turning back to the black board.

 

 

 

Inuyasha looked around and sniffed the air, no one was around. He opened the door to the custodian's closet and found Kagome sitting on a stool reading a magaizine.

 

“ What took you?” Kagome asked flipping pages a smile gracing her delectably perfect lips.

 

“ Oh Shuttup.” Inuyasha grasped Kagome's arm pulling her flush against his toned body before pressing his lips against hers.

 

 

 

Kagome walked back into class straightening her hair before taking her seat.

 

“ What took you so long?” Sango whispered.

 

“ The bathrooms were locked.. Had to go to the one on the other side of the campus.”

 

“ Oh.” Sango whispered before turning back to write her essay. Inuyasha sauntered in a grin on his face. Kagome popped a piece of gum into her mouth and spritzing on a little perfume. She had to have all her bases covered, Kouga would be able to smell and taste Inuyasha on her.

 

“ Geez watch it would ya wench?” Inuyasha growled to Kagome. “ You almost got that in my eye!”

 

“ Oh screw you Inuyasha.”

 

“ That perfume smells horrible, your stupid wimpy wolf of a boyfriend must have gotten it for you.” Inuyasha smirked inwardly, he had gotten Kagome that perfume, the scent was kind of like hers, but hers was better. Especially when she was aroused.

 

“ Not that that's any of your business, Kouga didn't buy it for me.” Kagome huffed, Sango leaned over.

 

“ Then who did get you that perfume?” Sango asked as the bell rang.

 

` Thank God.' Inuyasha and Kagome both thought. Kikyou walked up from the back of the classroom and snaked her arms around Inuyasha's waist as he stood up to walk out.

 

“ Hey Baby,” Kikyou cooed in Inuyasha's ear. Kagome had to applaud her own self will because she REALLY wanted to punch Kikyou in the face right then and there. But instead Kagome walked gracefully out into the hall where her boyfriend stood waiting for her. He smiled to her his back against a locker.

 

“ Hello Gorgeous.” Kouga said leaning to kiss her lips but Kagome turned her head and kissed her cheek.

 

“ Kouga..” Kagome frowned leaning against a locker next to him. Her eyes focused on the floor. She slowly lifted her eyes to see Inuyasha walking out of class with Kikyou. Inuyasha quickly looked at Kagome before walked off with Kikyou down the hall. “ We gotta talk.”

 

 

 

 

“ Come on Kouga.. Don't take it so bad!” Kagome rolled her eyes as she spoke into her cell phone. It was already late after noon and he'd been calling her all day. She was sitting at Inuyasha's computer table playing solitaire as she and Kouga conversed.

 

“ But Kagome what did I do wrong?” Kouga asked sadly.

 

Kagome's voice softened as she spoke into the phone. “ It's not you.. I swear it. We don't fit together.. You'll see it one day. I know Ayame has a HUGE crush on you. She's loved you since the 1st grade..”

 

“ Really?” His voice perked up a little bit.

 

Kagome chuckled softly, “ Yea, I think you guys would be great together. Why don't you call her right now..”

 

“ All right. You know I'll always love you.. You were my first Kagome.” Kouga told her honestly.

 

“ Thanks Kouga. I'm sorry it had to end up like this.” And Kagome truly meant it.

 

“ Me too. Bye Kagome..”

 

“ Bye.” Kagome shut her phone. Kagome stood up from the chair and made her way to Inuyasha's living room. He was sitting on the couch eating a bowl of ramen and watching cartoons. Kagome leaned against a wall smiling as she watched him. He was such a child.

 

“ Geez, what are you staring at wench?” Inuyasha grumbled through a mouthful of noddles.

 

“ You,” Kagome laughed. “ 18 years old and watching cartoons?”

 

“ Damn right.. I know you watch cartoons too!” Kagome rolled her eyes still smiling. “ Why the hell do you look so happy?” Inuyasha knew very well she was on with her boyfriend that dumb ass wolf Kouga.

 

“ Because I broke up with Kouga.” Inuyasha gently placed his bowl of ramen on the coffee table. He looked at her calmly then smirked and had Kagome in his arms in an instant. He was nuzzling her neck. She was finally his. As Inuyasha held her Kagome wondered if he would ever break up with Kikyou.

 

“ I'll break up with her.. But don't you think it'll be suspicious if we do it almost at the same time.” Inuyasha said answering the unspoken question. Kagome sighed sadly. Inuyasha squeezed her. “ I swear to God Kagome I will.. Give me a week I swear I'll break up with her.” Kagome hugged him loosely.

 

“ I gotta get home.” Kagome muttered pulling away from Inuyasha.
