Started with a Dream

Prologue

A dream, and I'm not in it

It was a cold stormy night, it was dark and you could barely see what was in front of you. Near the wide river, a boat was docked there, with no one there riding it. A little girl around the age of 13 and a boy was running towards the river at a speed no one thought they had. When they reached there, the girl was gasping for air, for they had been running for the past 30 minutes in the dark, away from the village. Normally it would have only taken around 5 minute for the average adult to reach the river but she was only a little girl and running aimlessly in the dark made it even harder.

A boy around her age help her to catch her breath, she leaned against him while she rested. She smiled at the boy after she had regained some of her energy and they continued on towards the river, more slowly this time. The storm grew more vicious and the rain poured harder, as warning them not to enter the boat or something would happen to them. They however didn't care at all. They enter the boat with no hesitation or concerns.

When they safely entered the boat, the boy push off the ground with all his might to leave the place and cross the river. The girl looked at him with worried eyes. Would they ever make it? She was scared out of her mind, not once had she ever crossed the river before, and the thought of leaving her hometown frighten her. She looked at the boy who just gave her a smile that made her feel safe.

That day was the worst she ever had. She was best friends with the little boy who now was sitting beside her and rowing the boat. She had known him for almost 3 years. Until one day she figured out that she had fell in love with him. The next day, they were both unusually quiet and she couldn't help but blush when he looked her way. She decided that she couldn't take it anymore and told the little boy she was in love with him. At that comment the boy's eyes grew in surprise, but then he just smiled and gave her a hug.

After a little talk they figured out that they both liked each other and smiled at that. They decided to tell their parents about the good news. As they walked back to the village, something was happening that they could not believe.

The village was fighting some royal army and they were in a battle that no one would ever forget. The little girl was scared as she clutched onto her crush's shirt. Her mother saw her and cried out to her to come over. When she did, she grabbed her daughter and pushed the little boy away. The girl cried to her mother telling her that he was her friend. Her mother gave her a sad frown, and then gave an evil glare to the little boy on the ground.

The boy was actually a spy from the royal castle who was planning to take over the village when they were sure they weren't expecting it. The boy looked at his feet trying to hide the betrayal that was soaked into him. The little girl, now weeping because the person who she fell in love and may be wanted to get married to was a spy. A liar. But she tired to believe that her mother was lying. She wiggled out of her mother's grasp and went to the boy's side. Her mother, shocked at her action was now screaming at her, which other people had heard and came over to her. The battle stopped and everyone came to see a crying woman and two little kids.

After the royal people left, the little boy decided it was time for him to leave. However, the little girl could not stand to see him leave and ran over to where he was. Her mother got angry at her and told her to come back this instant. The little girl shook her head no and told her mother she was in love with him. To much of her surprise, the other villagers heard her confession and also got angry. They all told her to leave the traitor alone and that she deserved better then him. She cried no and refused to come back. Her mother begged her to come back while her father told her she was not allowed to see him again, or even THINK about getting married to that dirty boy.

The little boy told her to go back home for he had a plan to make sure they were to stay together forever. The girl nodded her head and went back to her village.

At midnight, the little girl heard a knock on her window and found the boy grinning at her. He told her that they were going to run away together to where he lived, in a little town across the river. The little girl smiled happily and hugged him. This now brings them to where they are now, on a little boat away from the village. As they traveled farer from the village, the rain seemed to get stronger, the water currents nearly pushing them over. When they could almost see land again, a big current splashed into them causing the little girl to slip and fall over. She yelped and tried to grab for the little boy or the boat but the river washed her away. She screamed for the little boy as she was pushed under water, and never came back up. After the incident, the storm subsided and the boy hopped out of the boat and stared at the river, a little tear escaped from his eye as he utter a simple word.

"Sorry…"

Inuyasha woke up from what had seemed like a dream. He clutched onto his head and looked at his surroundings. He was at his aunt's cottage for the school days for he was a really rich teen and well known at the school there. Inuyasha's parents were disappointed with his school marks and decided that it would be best if he started at a new school. Inuyasha groaned as a pain washed over into his head. He tried to shake off the pain but failed to do so. Something told him that someone was watching him but he decided that it's was the headache that was making him think strange. Letting sleep take him back down to his bed, he feel asleep almost instantly.

In a few minutes, out of the shadows, a little girl came out from hiding from the door. She was soaked from the head to her toes; she sniffled and wiped a tear away. She stared at the sleeping boy in the bed and stood there watching him.

When the sun had awaken and was shining through Inuyasha's window, the little girl was no where to be seen, like she was never there at all. Inuyasha woke up and stretched. Yawning, he quickly got changed and went down stairs to greet his aunt. While he was walking down the stairs, he realized that he still remember the dream he had that night. However, it was really strange, having a dream that was neither a memory or from any story he had ever heard. Then he finally noticed something. He wasn't in the dream at all; it was about a little girl. He shrugged and continued downstairs.

In a few minutes, the same little girl from the night before was standing at the top of the stairs. She was still wet and was crying a little, she stared at the empty stairway and she tried to see where Inuyasha was from where she was standing, but in no such luck. Before leaving, she muttered some words; it was really softly like she was only saying it to herself.

"He knows. He knows what had happened…"

And with that, she disappeared out of sight in a ghostly manner, leaving no trace of evidence that she was there in the first place, not even a single drop from her wet clothes.

To be continue.

So, how do you like it so far? I know it may not be the best in the world but hey, I think it's pretty good. Hehehe, try to guess who the little girl is, I think I made it pretty obvious, o well. Please read and review. Thanks and buh bye!!
