Itazurana Kiss 2
Chapter One: Everlasting

I awoke with a sharp pain in my head. Kami, my head! I looked around at my settings. It didn't look anything like my palace. It was a cave, and it was cold.

“You're awake,” A young voice said. I turned my head to where it was coming from. A boy wearing some kind of demon slayer suit walked up to me. He held a bowl and some chopsticks. “Here, eat.” I turned my head. “I'm not hungry, and might I ask, who are you?” The boy chuckled. “My name is Kohaku,” I nodded. “I'm Tokimara Kurama, princess of the southern lands.” I sat up and leaned my back against the wall of the cave. “I know who you are. Master refers to you as “the distraction”.” My blue eyes widened. “Who is master?” Kohaku set the bowl and chopsticks on the ground beside me. “Sorry, but I can't give you all that information.”

Just then, two girls walked into the cave. The first, by looking at her features, I recognized as Kagura. Bankotsu-kun had described her to me. The second, who was much smaller, I didn't. She had snow white hair, snow white skin, and snow white clothes. The only thing that wasn't snow white were her eyes, which were a frightening black.

“Kohaku,” Kagura called, “Naraku says bring Tokimara over.” Kohaku nodded. “Let's go,” Puzzled, I stood up, slipped on my shoes and followed them to the end of the cave, which was 500 feet above a sea of flames. “T-that's a long way down, Kohaku.” I said fearfully. Kagura smirked. “We know.” She pulled one of the two feathers in her hair out and waved it around. Next thing I knew, a floating feather the size of a wagon was beside us. “Hop on.” She said.

About a half an hour into the flight, I was leaning on Kohaku's shoulder, asleep. I dreamt about what it would be like if Bankotsu and I were reunited.

“Wake up, wench.” A deep voice said. I opened my eyes and again, I was in a different setting. This time it was a palace, but nothing like mine. It was dark and gloomy.

“Where am I?” I asked. The deep voice got closer. “At my castle. You should be so indebted. A lot of people don't have a high enough status to actually see me in person.” He was so close that I could smell his sour breath. “Who are you?” He chuckled. “Who me? My name is Naraku.” I stood up. “So you're the big, bad Naraku, eh?” He nodded. “Then where's Bankotsu-sama? I hear he works for you.” He pointed to a door that was locked. “He's in there? But the door is locked.” Naraku turned towards me. “You have a sacred sword. It can break the lock.” I touched my sword, which was attached to my kimono with a sash that Sesshomaru had given me. I walked up to the door and unsheathed Kiamu.

“You know what half-breed; I'm not releasing him yet.”

I turned around sharply and ran full speed to him. Yes, yes…I'm going to kill him… I smiled as my sword pierced through his rib cage. I sheathed my sword and tied it back to my waist. “That'll teach you never to play with my emotions.”

Then I heard laughing. “Stupid princess,” I looked around frightfully. I heard him, but I couldn't see him. “That was a PUPPET!” My face fell. “You're so vulnerable it's funny.” Then silence. I turned around slowly and looked through the bars of the door. Bankotsu was in there asleep!

“Bankotsu, wake up!” I knocked against the door, since Naraku had lied and even my sacred Kiamu couldn't break the lock. His eyes opened.

“Kurama!” He pressed his face against the bars and reached his hand out. “Where've you been?” I smiled. “At Sesshomaru's.” His face looked confused. “Seshomar-who?” He took my hand in his. “You know that demon that took me from you about three months ago?” Bankotsu grimaced. “That's Inuyasha's brother.” I laughed. “I knew I saw a resemblance.”

I sat down by the door. “I have to get out of here, Kurama-kun.” Bankotsu said sadly. “But Naraku lied to me and said Kiamu could break the lock!” I felt Bankotsu's hand caress my hair. “Then we'll just have to get a barrier-breaking sword.” He moved his hand down to my cheek. “Where'll we find one of those?” I asked. “I know just the person.” Then I got interested.

“Listen to me, Kurama. Go find Inuyasha. Trick him to come here and break the lock. Then I'll kill him and we can go back to the southern lands.” I smiled. “You make it sound so easy. How am I supposed to find him?” I stood up and looked at him through the bars. “Here's a jewel shard from my Banryuu.” He handed me a small glowing crystal shard. “That girl that travels with him can sense them. They'll find you. Plus, they want to kill Naraku. If you tell them that you know where his castle is, they follow you for sure.” I kissed his forehead. “Okay, Bankotsu.” I put the shard in the pocket of my undergarments. “Don't forget; whatever happens, I love you.” He said. I nodded and walked out of the palace.
