Itazurana Kiss 2
Chapter Two- Enter Akira
I was getting tired. It was late in the night and I had just started my journey to find that ghastly half-breed. Earlier that day, Bankotsu ordered me to find him so that she he could use his sword to break the seal on Bankotsu's cell. I would've asked my soldiers, but I didn't for two reasons: one, because my palace was too far and two, if I did, they'd ask me what for and I'd have to explain the whole Bankotsu thing.
“I'm so tired,” I mumbled to myself. Luckily, a village was ahead. I trotted lazily up the hill and into town.
I expected the village to be empty. It was late and everyone was probably sleeping.
“You there,” A voice called. I turned around and rubbed my eyes so I could see better. “Me?” I walked closer to the voice and my vision got clearer. A girl about my age with short black hair was before me. “What're you doing out so late?” I winced. My stomach was in pain because of hunger. “Well see, I'm a traveler. My name is Princess Kurama, daughter of King Daisuke Tokimara.” The girl squealed. “You're a princess?!”
She led me into a small hut. Inside was a baby and a torch. That was it. “So this is your house?” I asked, looking around. She nodded. Since the fire was lit, I could see the girl better. Her eyes were red and she wore green lipstick. She was wearing white kimono. Something about her looked eerie.
“Oh yes milady, I apologize. I would like to introduce myself. I'm Akira.” She pointed to the baby. “And that's my sister, Yukino.” I walked up to the baby. “She's adorable, Akira,” I pointed my finger at her and she grabbed it. Akira took the baby in her arms. “You're supposed to be sleeping, Yuki.” I smiled. “How old are you?” Akira sat the baby back down. “I just turned seventeen last week,” I didn't want say anything else because I didn't want to sound like a nuisance.
“You know something milady?” I looked at her. “You should really get something to eat.” I nodded. “Thank you, Akira.” She smiled. I looked her in her eye. They were frightening, I admit, but I didn't think anything of it. She pulled something out of her pocket. It was a small glass bottle with an orange liquid in it. “Sorry, I don't have any food. We really can't afford it. I manage to get my hands on a little sake at times, though.” Akira threw the bottle to me. I opened it skeptically and took a sniff. It smelled alcoholy. I knew it was sake, so I drank it.
A mere second after I took a sip of it, I started to feel dizzy. “You okay milady?” Akira asked, concerned. I started to see two of her. “I…A-Akira…” Then I collapsed unconscious. Akira took my hand a shook me. I didn't move. She smirked.
When I woke up, I wasn't in the hut. I was in a dungeon. My hands were in chains that were attached to the wall, as were my feet. I looked up and I saw Akira, but it didn't look like the Akira I met. She had red tattoos everywhere, and she was wearing a black kimono.
“Oh hello milady,” She said. She walked over to me and grabbed my chin. “You're so pretty, and you'll look so much better on my body!” I gasped. “W-what?!” She smirked. “You heard me. I'm getting tired of this face. I got it last week for my birthday, and I'm bored of it.” I grimaced. “What do you mean got it?” She put her hand to her face and tore her face off. Under it was a pale face. She still had red eyes, but she wasn't wearing lipstick. “Now you see my true face.” She pulled out a dagger and aimed at my face. “Shit!” I dodged it and reached to my side for my Kiamu, but it wasn't there. Damn, she must've taken it. I scanned around for it. I saw it leaning against the wall on the opposite side of the dungeon. “You're mighty good, princess. Who's you're trainer?” Then I got really pissed. I pushed myself against the wall and launched off. Just as I thought, my chains broke.
“Such strategy,” Akira said. She put her fingers to her lips and muttered something. Then she disappeared. I gasped. Crap! Now I have to use my secret technique! I ran over and grabbed Kiamu. Then I closed my eyes. “Cat of the night!”
I opened my eyes and I could see Akira, like a cat in the night. The only problem with the technique was the white swirls in my eyes. I thought they were so ugly. I smiled and unsheathed Kiamu. “DIE!!!!!” I ran so fast I was almost invisible myself. Then, my sword was stopped by her dagger. It was pressed against it, trying to keep me from stabbing her. “You can see me, huh? Well that's no fun!” She let go of the dagger and it fell. She caught it and aimed for my stomach. Thank kami for my good reflexes. I stopped the dagger with my foot. “You can't kill me so easily, Akira.” I kicked her so far back that she was slammed against the wall. “Okay look, I don't have time for you.” I blinked, and the white swirls in my eyes were gone. I gotta get out of here.
I found shelter at an inn in another village. I wasn't trying to deal with anymore crazy youkai that wanted my face. When I went to bed, it was just about sunrise, but I really didn't care. All that fighting made me and Kiamu exhausted.
