“Kyo honey come back here!” Kagome's voice boomed throughout the silent house.

Kagome huffed and picked the fully awake and alert Saaya up. The baby girl looked up at her mommy and giggled childishly. Her mommy sure looked funny when she was angry. Kagome's hair was disheveled, dark strands flying every which way. Beads of perspiration had collected on her forehead and her beautiful pink kimono was now a wrinkled mess. Saaya's black doggie ears twitched on her head, trying to locate her missing brother. Kyo had been ecstatic about going to Nana's time, but once Kagome pulled out the brush, all hell broke loose. Kyo ran as fast as his little feet would carry him and dashed away from his mommy's hands. No way was he sitting through another hair brushing!

Not having youkai abilities herself, Kagome couldn't find where her devilish son had hidden. Kagome swore internally. Kyo could squash those giant spiders Kagome feared without a second thought, but when it came to brushing his unruly hair Kyo ran like the hounds of hell were on his tail. Kagome had successfully dressed her two children and gotten Saaya all prettied up. Her daughter was dressed in a light blue kimono and wore her hair in little pigtails. Kyo was dressed in another red kimono. Her son just refused to wear anything unless red was included on the outfit. Sometimes Kagome seriously wondered if Kyo had any of her in him, or if he was conceived with Inuyasha's genes alone.

Kagome sighed lightly and kissed her daughter's forehead. Saaya happily gurgled and clapped her hands together, finding this chase amusing in her two year old mind. Kagome narrowed her eyes and furrowed her eyebrows in a mock angry glare and looked her daughter in the eyes.

“Don't suppose you hear your brother do you Saaya? You're not covering up for him are you?” Kagome asked teasingly. Saaya's eyes brightened in laughter and her tiny mouth split into a big happy smile that showed her cute little teeth.

“Kyo hiding!” Saaya happily informed. Kagome smiled defeatedly and put her daughter back in her bed.

“Stay there sweetie. Mommy's going to look for your brother.”

Kagome hiked up her kimono and silently walked towards the door of Saaya's room. Just before she left Kagome turned around and put her finger to her mouth, signaling for Saaya to keep quiet. Saaya's bright eyes locked with her mother as she put her own finger up to her lips to imitate Kagome. Kagome gave her daughter one last smile and slipped out of the room.

After minutes of careful searching, Kagome had yet to find her son. `Not in our room, not in Saaya's room, not in his own room…where is he?!' Kagome silently asked herself as she darted in and out of rooms to find her baby boy. She avoided tipping off the little devil with her noise by tip toeing around the spacious house. Kagome silently slipped into the dining room and living area and found no trace of Kyo. Just as she was about to open the front door and check outside, Kagome distinctly heard a tiny sneeze.

Kagome's head snapped up and there she saw, hanging from the banister above the entrance to the dining room, was her red clad little boy. Kyo froze like a deer in headlights and dropped from the banister. Faster than Kyo gave his mommy credit for, Kagome launched forward and snatched him up. Kyo fought and struggled like a true warrior, kicking his little feet in the air. Kagome smiled triumphantly and carried him back to Saaya's room with him thrown over her shoulder.

The happy mother of two entered her daughter's room with a big smile and shut the door behind her, effectively trapping her baby boy in the room. Saaya looked at her mommy and brother and let out a happy squeal. Kyo huffed unhappily as he was plopped down onto the bed. Kagome smiled and patted her son on his soft messy waist length silver hair. Kyo's ears twitched in annoyance and tried to flick away from Kagome's hands. Saaya sat beside her brother, happily playing with a strand of his hair.

“Saaya honey, don't tangle your brother's hair more than it already is. We want to get to Nana's sometime this year.” Kagome warned seriously. Saaya pulled her hands away from Kyo's hair and busied herself with a doll. Kagome smiled and turned her attention back on Kyo. His little face was scrunched up in a pout and he had his arms and legs crossed. He looked like an adorable, but stubborn, miniature version of a pouting Inuyasha.

“Kyo…” Kagome reprimanded, “Sit still okay sweetie? I'll try to brush it out as lightly as I can.” Just as Kagome advanced with the hairbrush Kyo jerked back and moved to the other end of the bed. With his arms still crossed, Kyo stuck his nose in the air and turned his head away from Kagome.

“I don't want to go to Nana's if I have to brush my hair.” He pouted. Kagome sighed and was just about to begin to reason with him when Saaya tugged on her sleeve. Kagome looked back and saw Saaya's tear filled eyes.

“Aww honey, what's wrong?” Kagome cooed, bending down on her knees to hug her daughter. Kagome withdrew and let her daughter speak.

“No Nana?” Saaya questioned tearfully.

“We have to get Kyo ready before we go. It's up to your brother, if he lets me brush his hair, we'll go see Nana.” Kagome spoke in a soft soothing manner, secretly baiting Kyo. Internally, Kagome silently congratulated herself. Kyo would never leave his sister crying! Kagome 1, Kyo 0

Saaya was far from soothed and opened her mouth to let out a sob. Fat tears rolled down her chubby pink cheeks and fell to the bed. Saaya's bottom lip trembled in displeasure and she let out another cry. Kyo's composure was quickly shattered as soon as he smelt the salty tears run down his sister's cheeks. The silver haired boy got on his knees and crawled to his sister on all fours. Kyo planted himself right in front of Saaya, blocking Kagome's vision. The small hanyou boy reached one clawed hand forward and used the sleeve of his haori to wipe Saaya's tears away. Kagome had to suppress a giggle at the way Kyo's furry ears drooped leaving him looking all lop sided.

“Don't cry Saaya. I'll let mommy brush my hair so we can go to Nana's. It's okay.” Kyo amended.

Kagome smiled at her two children. Kyo really was just like his father, the scent of tears would make the two of them do just about anything. Kagome placed a tender kiss on Kyo's head and picked him up. She deposited him in the middle of the bed and picked up the brush again. Kagome looked Kyo square in the eyes and asked,

“Ready?”

Kyo cast another glance to his side and saw his sniffling sister. With a deep breath, determined eyes, and ears pinned to his head Kyo answered,

“Ready.”

The irate hanyou huffed indignantly and continued his quick pace to the lake. He wanted to take a nice dip in the frigid waters, praying it would cool his burning desire. Sure he could have gone to the hot spring that was actually closer to his home. But our dear Inuyasha had assumed a cold swim in the lake would solve his problems better then a long soak in a relaxing hot spring, where his overactive imagination was sure to put him in the same predicament he wanted to get out of.

Upon reaching the crystal blue waters, Inuyasha hastily stripped off his hakama and cast it off in an untidy heap on the bank. Not realizing he had made the same mistake about four times now, Inuyasha foolishly jumped into the cold lake in one powerful splash. The freezing water painfully bit his erection and caused him to howl out in anguish. Birds took flight and small animals scurried away at the mighty cry. Gritting his teeth in agony Inuyasha tried to take deep breaths to will the pain away. Inuyasha got his desired effect as his stiffness went away, but at a very painful price.

The mighty hanyou spent the next thirty minutes sitting in the icy waters, trying to will his feet to move. The shock of the cold on his smoldering flesh and hard need seemed to temporarily shut off his bodily functions. Muttering under his breath Inuyasha basically cursed and berated himself for the time being. `Baka, baka, baka!! How many times am I going to jump into this lake like that before I realize it REALLY hurts?! This is all Kagome's fault. That woman will be the death of me! Her and her stupid teasing!' Inuyasha whined when the realization hit him, `This is my fault isn't it? If I wasn't denying her when we had the chance…if I had just taken her before Kyo came bursting in…I wouldn't be sitting in this fucking lake for half an hour!!'

With teeth chattering and blue tinged skin, Inuyasha slowly walked back to shore with stiff shaky legs. Once there Inuyasha spent another five minutes loudly cursing because his body was too cold to bend down to pick his hakama up. Inuyasha's skin glistened in the sunlight, droplets of water reflecting the sun's rays. His entire body was chiseled to perfection, each lean muscle perfectly outlined. The figure shadowed in the depths of the forest sure appreciated his sculpted physique. When the hanyou was finally ready to head home, his temper was teetering dangerously. Cutting down defenseless foliage on his path, and murderously staring down any squirrel that dared look him in the eye, Inuyasha continued his way home. One particular squirrel felt his wrath.

The poor animal had been frozen with terror when it locked eyes with the powerful hanyou. Inuyasha glared, and glared, and glared, then narrowed his eyes to impossibly small slits, and the squirrel still didn't move, or look away for that matter. His golden eyes blazed with warning and if squirrels could cry, this one's brown eyes would have been full of tears. Inuyasha bared his fangs at the wide eyed rodent and snarled ferociously. With a vein ticking on his forehead Inuyasha snapped,

“What the fuck are you staring at you punk?!”

The squirrel remained as it was, petrified in fear. The small acorn it had been collecting fell to the forest floor, rolling towards the extremely pissed off hanyou. The squirrel's minute arms were stuck in place, arms still cradling the absent acorn. Inuyasha took a threatening step towards the furry brown animal that at its greatest height would have reached a third of the way up Inuyasha's calf. The hanyou flared his nostrils and a deep low growl formed in his throat. Finally coming to its senses, the traumatized, and in need of serious therapy, squirrel scampered away as fast as its shaky legs could carry it. Inuyasha “keh'ed” and roared,

“Yeah you better run!”

Still smoldering, Inuyasha continued striking down branches on the familiar trail. Once Inuyasha exited the dense forest area and came to the clearing of his home he realized what had just happened. His claws flexed and steam rose from his body, seething Inuyasha spoke to himself,

“I just threatened a squirrel. I just threatened a squirrel!

Inuyasha entered his spacious home still furious, although no longer sure at who or why. All the hanyou knew was he was annoyed, frustrated, and horny. Grumbling with an adorably angered face and furry ears pinned to his head in irritation, Inuyasha loudly thumped to his bedroom. Once there, he opened the door and slipped inside. His plan was to gather his haori then help Kagome with the kids, but he couldn't seem to leave the room. As soon as he entered, Kagome's calming scent drowned his senses and all anger dissipated. Not only that, but the aroma of their earlier activities still heavily clung to the room and fogged his mind. Inuyasha didn't know when he had become so easily distracted, but at the moment didn't really give a flying rat's ass…or squirrel's ass.

Inuyasha made his way to their bed, where the scent hung the heaviest. He flopped down on the soft bed and breathed in deeply. A low rumble started in his chest and his eyes got droopy. Inuyasha's earlier anger was a distant memory as utter contentment and happiness filled his soul. The scent in the room didn't so much sexually arouse the hanyou as fill him with a warm, tingly, squishy soft feeling. A part of his demon side snorted at him and called him a weak little girl. Another hazy part of his mind could also see Sesshomaru, which he had been on better terms with, laughing at him and calling him pathetic good-naturedly.

The warm fuzzy feeling spread through his body all the way to his finger tips. The sun shined brightly through the window, and Inuyasha didn't feel the need to growl at it this time. He breathed a sigh of happiness and remained lying on the bed face down. Subconsciously preparing himself for a nap, Inuyasha curled a little closer to himself. His bright golden eyes dulled a bit and his eyelids began to descend. But as it seemed, Kyo was trying to break a new record for interruptions that day. Just as Inuyasha's lids fell together a loud yelp of pain vibrated the quiet house. Inuyasha snapped to attention and jumped up. Just as he was about to barge out of his room and find the source of discomfort, another loud cry rang out.

“Oww! Mommy!” Kyo's distinctive little voice whined.

“Hold still Kyo! I don't know how you manage to do this to your hair!” came Kagome's exasperated sigh. Inuyasha mentally rolled his eyes and grabbed his inner shirt and haori. He slowly slipped his arms into the voluminous sleeves, careful to buy his time. Hopefully Kagome hadn't heard him enter and would leave him out of another fight with Kyo's unruly silver hair. A few precious seconds ticked by but…no such luck.

“Inuyasha! Stop hiding! I know you're back! Come help me!” his mate commanded. With a defeated sigh Inuyasha made his way to Saaya's room, where the cries of annoyance were coming from. Inuyasha gingerly opened the door and his eyes fell upon the current scene.

Kyo was sitting on the bed with an extremely upset look. His hands were folded against his chest and the little boy was biting his bottom lip. Kagome was on her knees beside the bed looking extremely tousled with a mask of concentration on her face. Half of his son's hair was shiny and straight, while the other half was a tangled mess. Kagome was currently working on a particularly evil knot. How Kyo did this to herself would always remain a mystery to Kagome. Kyo gave out another whimper and Kagome soothed,

“I'm sorry honey. I'm trying to do this as gently as I can. …Hold still!”

Inuyasha leaned against the bedroom door with his arms folded against his chest. A warm smile graced his lips as he watched his family. His family. A bigger smile tugged at his lips.

Kagome made a sound of defeat and set the brush down harshly on the bed. Kagome jerked her head up and glared at Inuyasha. His amused golden eyes locked with her flustered blue-grey ones. Kagome kissed Kyo's brow and stood up. Kyo looked up to his parents hopefully and asked,

“Am I done?” Kagome smiled sympathetically at her son and replied,

“No sweetie. Daddy's going to finish.” Kyo looked at his father skeptically, but gave a small nod of agreement. Inuyasha on the other hand, looked at Kagome with pleading eyes.

“No! Don't do this! You don't want to do this! I can't brush Kyo's hair!” Inuyasha begged. Kagome stalked to his side and wrapped her arms around her mate. She turned her chin upwards to stare into Inuyasha's panicked eyes. Kagome leaned up on her toes and gave Inuyasha a chaste kiss on the lips. Kyo protested at the scene in disgust and Saaya reached both hands up, wanting to join in on the loving. With pleading eyes Kagome asked,

“Please? For me? Can you finish brushing Kyo's hair?” She poked out her bottom lip for added affect. Inuyasha's resolve was crumbling, but he tried to hold strong.

“C-come on Kagome! You already got through half!”

“Yes…and you should do the other half!”

“Consider this your payback for leaving me hanging!” he desperately begged, trying to guilt her into it.

“I didn't leave you hanging on purpose Inuyasha!”

“But still! The only reason I sat in that frigid lake for half an hour is cause of you!”

“Didn't I already tell you I'm happy about that?” Kagome coyly answered. Inuyasha snorted and quietly muttered “fucking sadist…”. Kagome slapped him lightly on the arm for his rough language around the impressionable children. Turning her big doe eyes on Inuyasha once again she asked,

“Please Inu-kun? I have to go get myself ready again anyways.”

“Oh! Don't Inu-kun me! That's unfair! You know I can't say no when you-” Inuyasha's rant was abruptly cut off when Kagome placed a soft kiss under his chin. Kagome's lips curved into an evil smile when she felt her mate's tense form melt.

He tried. He really did. Inuyasha tried to say no, tried to stop the lazy lop sided grin from appearing on his face. But alas, to no avail. Kagome snickered triumphantly and tweaked Inuyasha's ear playfully.

“I got all the nasty knots out anyways. It won't be too bad.” Kagome consoled as she pressed her soft lips to Inuyasha's warm ones once more and left his side. She quickly placed a kiss on top of Saaya and Kyo's head before dashing out of the room. Inuyasha snapped out of his tipsy little world when Kagome fled. He growled lightly then looked Kyo in the eye. Kyo visibly gulped and slid back a few inches. Saaya's eyes darted from her brother to her father and back. This was going to be funny…

Straightening his shoulders bravely, Inuyasha hesitantly kneeled beside the bed. His clawed hand picked up the all mighty brush in a crushing grasp. Kyo's eyes widened and his tiny fingers gripped the bed until they turned white. The room was silent in anticipation and the only sounds heard were light breaths. Gathering up his courage Inuyasha looked Kyo in the eye, gold challenging gold.

“All right little man. We can do this one of two ways. The slow way, or the fast way. Both will be equally painful. A man would take it the fast way and endure the pain. Are you a man Kyo?” Inuyasha preached like a high school football coach. Kyo's eyes hardened in determination and he sat up straight. Nodding his head heroically as if this were something noble his little voice answered,

“I'm a man! Let's do this thing daddy!” Smiling proudly at his son Inuyasha gushed,

“That's my boy.”

Inuyasha nodded back and took a deep breath. In three quick strokes Inuyasha combed through Kyo's hair. Saaya watched her brother with wide eyes. Kyo didn't voice a scream and his tears were held firmly in his watery eyes. Inuyasha set the brush that held limp strands of silver hair down on the table beside the bed and stood up. The hanyou held out a hand to his son, and Kyo took it and gave as firm a handshake as he could. Inuyasha laughed and picked Kyo up in his arms. He threw the little boy in the air with his congratulations and placed him on top of his shoulders. Kyo's legs dangled from either side of Inuyasha's neck happily. Saaya clapped gleefully from her place on the bed. Inuyasha bent down and blew a wet raspberry on her cheek then picked her up and carried her like a baby in his strong arms. Inuyasha cradled her in one arm and used his other to tickle her belly. Saaya squealed happily and Kyo made funny faces at his sister beside his father's head. Inuyasha laughed with his kids then carried his precious cargo towards his room.

“Let's grab your mom and go to Nana's!”

R/R =) Reviews are greatly appreciated, *hint hint*, lol.

I just want to steal Kyo away from his parents and keep him for myself! I think I should give Saaya a few more shining moments…but Kyo's character is just too irresistible! I think it's partly how I think Inuyasha's childhood might have been like if he had the unlimited love of his parents throughout his entire life. Ahh…I just want to pinch his chubby cheeks! =)
