“Let's grab your mom and go to Nana's!”

 

 

 

The happy family soon emerged on the other side of the well, heads still lightly spinning from the adjustment. Magic still ebbed from the well but no one paid it much attention; the family was quite used to the time travel. Kagome stood near the door of the well house holding Kyo's small hand. Back in the feudal era, the little hanyou had declared he had to travel with his mommy because each of the men in the family had to protect one of the women. Kagome rolled her eyes playfully at the declaration and Inuyasha snickered. At that time Kagome had whispered quietly to her mate,

 

“He's just like you, you know?” Inuyasha had quickly stolen a brief kiss from his mate then picked his daughter up. Kagome jumped down with Kyo clinging onto her.

 

 

A few seconds later Inuyasha landed silently beside Kagome in the well house, daughter in tow. Kyo's hand pried open the aged wood and sunlight filled the dark space. Kagome's hand still held one of Kyo's, which the little boy began tugging on insistently. Inuyasha set Saaya down on her own feet at which time she immediately held a hand up to hold onto her daddy's. Kagome smiled warmly at her family in the autumn weather and used her free hand to entwine with Inuyasha's. Inuyasha gently pushed his nose to her cheek and nuzzled the flesh lovingly.

 

 

“Come on!” Kyo tugged, “Let's go! I bet Nana will be happy to see us!” Kagome gave into her son's pulling and feigned weakness.

 

“Kyo, however did you get so strong?” the miko questioned teasingly, unbeknownst to her son. Kyo's chest puffed up proudly and an air of dignity surrounded him.

 

“`Cause I'm a mighty hanyou! I'm gonna grow up big and strong just like daddy!” he proclaimed. Kagome laughed and asked,

 

“So you can protect me and Saaya from big, mean scary creatures like the boogey man?” Kyo tensed as his eyes went big. In a pained quiet whisper he asked,

 

“Is the boogey man here?!” Inuyasha smirked at his son.

 

“No Kyo, I already took care of him.” Inuyasha announced with a wink to Kagome. Kagome smiled warmly at him and wrapped her arm closer to his. Kyo relaxed a bit and looked his daddy in the eye. His brows were scrunched together and he quickly asked,

 

“Promise daddy?”

 

“Promise squirt.” Inuyasha reassured then continued, “Come on, let's go see your Nana. I'm sure she has a cupboard full of treats for you…and ramen for me.” he added happily.

 

Kagome released her hold on Kyo's hand and the little boy sprinted towards the Higurashi home. Inuyasha freed Saaya's hand as well and she waddled after her brother. Kyo ran halfway to the home before looking back. Upon seeing his sister struggling to catch up to him, Kyo ran back to Saaya. He stopped abruptly in front of his sister and kneeled down, offering his back to her.

 

“Let's go! I'll carry you!” Saaya happily climbed on and Kyo pattered his way to his grandma's at a slower pace. The little hanyou staggered a bit under the weight and zig zagged through the court yard. Saaya reached around her brother's head and innocently kissed him on the cheek. Kyo giggled and continued on.

 

 

 

Kagome watched her children happily at her mate's side. Inuyasha slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. He breathed in her intoxicating scent and kissed her ear lightly. Kagome smiled tenderly and leaned into his touch. With a happy sigh she spoke,

 

“Those two are full energy aren't they?” Inuyasha answered breathily in her ear,

 

“Do you regret having hanyou children instead of human ones?”

 

Kagome turned in his embrace so that she faced her mate. With a playful scowl she continued,

 

“Of course not Inuyasha. You already know that.” Inuyasha kissed her lips gently and pulled back.

 

“I know. I'm just teasing. I still remember your answer the first time I asked you…”

Inuyasha shifted uncomfortably on the bed, a blanket covering his lower half. The hanyou was sitting up against the headboard in his futurized feudal era home. Kagome was draped across him comfortably, her hands wrapped around his toned torso. Her head was resting against his chest and his claws were absentmindedly stroking her soft hair. She sighed in utter contentment. Everything was beyond perfect in her life right now. Inuyasha had allowed her to stay by his side after the completion of the jewel and Kikyou hadn't made an appearance since she left them on the battlegrounds after Naraku's demise.

 

 

Inuyasha and her were happily building their lives together. They had agreed on building a home outside the village near the Goshinboku. The area was already cleared and the well was nearby. The dense forest surrounded them in a circle and gave the illusion of seclusion. Their home had taken months to build, being much larger and complex than the regular houses in the village. The local men helped Inuyasha and Miroku construct the impressive structure, extremely grateful toward the hanyou and his miko.

 

 

Inuyasha had to endure continuous trips between the past and the future to gather the furniture Kagome had purchased. Kagome didn't want to burden her family with her expenses and found a rather well paying way to come up with money. She collected old useless items from the village families. Cracked bowls, old wooden spoons, blackened pots, and other sorts were among the items she gathered. Kagome brought the otherwise useless materials back to the future and sold it off to museums and wealthy business tycoons who wanted `history' in their homes.

After months of hard work their home was complete and furnished. Kagome was ecstatic and jumped on Inuyasha. Her legs wrapped around his torso, their bodies facing each other. Inuyasha easily cupped her bottom to hold her in place and leaned in for a kiss. Kagome pulled away a short while later, her lips pulled taught with a big grin.

 

“It's done Inuyasha! It's done! Look at this house! It's our home!” Inuyasha couldn't stop the grin from appearing on his own face and leaned down to give Kagome another chaste kiss. Raising his eyebrows suggestively Inuyasha asked,

 

“Want to explore our room?” Kagome answered with a giggle and pushed herself closer to her mate. The miko pulled her hands tighter around her lover's neck and kissed the place where his neck and jaw met. Nibbling lightly Kagome suggested,

 

“Why don't we explore every room, mate?” the fresh new word `mate' just rolled off her tongue smoothly.

 

Inuyasha growled happily and quickly ran into their home. The couple started their “exploration” right against the front door in the sitting area. Inuyasha took Kagome hard and fast on the cool wood of the door with her legs wrapped securely around his hips the entire time. After their first tryst Inuyasha leaned Kagome against the dining room table with his legs spreading hers apart. Moans and grunts echoed off the walls as Inuyasha repeatedly rocked into his mate. Their clothing was forgotten in the living room and the only thing that covered their bodies was a sheen of sweat.

 

 

Kagome was panting heavily by the end of their second round, but far from tired out. Inuyasha had the stamina of a ridiculous number of men and was quickly turning Kagome into a ravenous mate. The two lovers stumbled towards their bedroom and made love on their bed in their home for the very first time. The motions had been gentle and tender, more loving than passionate. Inuyasha had taken Kagome with her below him, gasping at his touch. Their bodies burned with a slow consuming heat rather than a raging and desperate fire.

 

 

Their lips molded together softly as Inuyasha thrusted into Kagome continuously, bringing quiet moans of pleasure from her throat. As the sun completely set the two reached their completion for the third time that day. Kagome bit into the junction of Inuyasha's neck to quiet her groans as euphoria flooded her body. Inuyasha went taught above Kagome and came with a strangled moan. His body arched into his mate's as he pushed himself in as deep as he could. For the next few minutes the only sounds in the house were quiet pants as the lovers tried to catch their breath.

 

 

 

Then this is where Inuyasha found himself. Sitting against the headboard with a satisfied mate holding his body close. Any other time Inuyasha would have been basking in the afterglow, mentally thanking the Kamis for sending him such a treasure. Kagome's soft body molded perfectly to his, as if she were designed specifically for him and him alone. But as it was, Inuyasha couldn't quiet the nagging voice in his mind. It urged him to talk to his mate about the matter, but Inuyasha couldn't seem to find the right words to start the conversation. The hanyou shifted uncomfortably again and caught Kagome's attention.

 

“What's wrong Inuyasha?” Kagome asked with a lazily happy voice. Her hand soothed the skin on his stomach, nails teasing the flesh there. Without thinking Inuyasha quickly blurted out,

 

“What do you think of pups?”

 

“About what?” Kagome asked, sitting up to be eye level with the hanyou.

 

“About pups. You know, babies. What do you think about them?” Inuyasha pressed on.

 

“Babies? Well…they're awfully cute. Why?” Kagome answered, not getting Inuyasha's question.

 

“…That's not what I meant…I mean, what do you think about our pups. I mean if we-” Inuyasha was abruptly interrupted with a happy squeal that came from Kagome. The miko quickly situated herself on Inuyasha's lap and happily kissed him all over his face. Her lips met his brow, eye lids, nose, cheeks, and finally his lips. With a bright gleam in her eyes Kagome asked,

 

“Am I pregnant?!” Slightly stunned from the shower of kisses Inuyasha dumbly asked,

 

“Are you what?”

 

“Pregnant! Am I?” Kagome asked in a cheerful voice. Upon hearing the word `pregnant' for the first time Inuyasha snapped back to reality and quickly reassured his mate, or so he thought.

 

“Pregnant? What? …Oh! No! You're not pregnant!” Inuyasha pacified in a surprised voice.

 

“Oh…” came Kagome's disappointed sigh as her shoulders drooped slightly. Her disappointment stunned him.

 

“Kagome…you're upset by that? I thought you would be happy! ...Unless…do you want to be pregnant?” Inuyasha asked carefully, rubbing her naked arms comfortingly.

 

“You baka! Of course I want to be preg-…” she cut off, “I mean…we don't have to now. Not until you're ready I guess. …Wait! You DO want to have them eventually don't you?!” Kagome asked desperately, her eyes pleading with him. Inuyasha chuckled and kissed his mate's forehead lovingly.

 

“Of course I want to have pups! And I am ready…I just didn't know if you were. But that's why I was asking… Kagome? Do you know what our pups will be?” Inuyasha asked tentatively.

 

“I don't know…I can't tell the future. But I hope the first one is a boy.” Kagome smiled warmly, completely missing the boat. Inuyasha mentally slapped himself for his vagueness.

 

“No I mean…in terms of human and demon…” he tried again. Kagome's brows furrowed in confusion.

 

“Well…I suppose they'll be quarter demon right?” she logically calculated. Inuyasha shifted uncomfortably again. His eyes shifted nervously at Kagome's gaze and he lifted an arm to scratch behind his neck anxiously.

 

“Well the thing is…there's no such thing as a quarter demon Kagome. Have you ever heard of one?” Anxiety coursed through his veins. Even his bones seemed to be on edge and jumpy. Kagome looked at him like he was crazy then brushed it over her shoulder as if it were nothing.

 

“Of course there are quarter demons Inuyasha! Silly…I mean just think of…” she trailed off in thought, “I mean there's…” then the dreadful realization hit Kagome like a million tonnes of bricks. Her eyes went impossibly wide and her mouth dropped open in horror. Her fingers gripped Inuyasha's arms tightly and her knuckles went white. “Oh my god… there aren't quarter demons…” she spoke as if to herself, “No! Inuyasha no! Please tell me it isn't true! Please tell me we can have babies!”

 

 

Inuyasha froze. Shit. He always turned a situation from bad to worse.

 

 

“No, no Kagome! That's not what I-” he tried to reassure her. Kagome quickly cut in.

 

“I'll still love you, you know. I still want to be with you for the rest of my life. I just…” her bottom lip trembled, “I thought…we were going to fill this empty house with little Inuyashas!” her last sentence almost came out in a wail. Tears started forming in the corners of her eyes and Inuyasha frantically tried to think of a way to explain the situation.

 

“No, no! Kagome no! We can have pups!” Inuyasha crushed her in a fierce hug, squishing her tiny body into his in reassurance. Kagome's body stopped shaking and she peeled herself from Inuyasha. Unshed tears twinkled in her eyes and she asked hopefully,

 

“We can?” Inuyasha almost laughed at his relief. Nodding his head enthusiastically he answered,

 

“Yes we can! I just meant…well, I wanted to know what you wanted. There's no such thing as quarter demons for a reason Kagome! Hanyous can produce either full human pups or hanyous! I just wanted to know which you preferred…” Understanding flooded through Kagome's body and happiness resurfaced.

 

“We can? We can! We can have pups!” Kagome breathed relieved, then her eyes hardened in anger, “Then why did you scare me like that you jerk!” Kagome violently grabbed a pillow and tried to smother Inuyasha's face in fury. “Baka, baka, baka!” she screamed. Inuyasha flailed his arms desperately as he tried to pry the pillow off his face. The hanyou overpowered his mate and managed to pull the cushion away to take a deep needed breath of fresh air. Gasping Inuyasha answered,

 

“I didn't do it on purpose! You just took it the wrong way!” Kagome fixed him with a hard glare of displeasure. She stared the hanyou down for a few seconds before her brain absorbed another portion of their conversation. Kagome's narrowed eyes opened and a smile registered on her features.

 

“We can have hanyou pups?!” she asked excitedly. Kagome hugged Inuyasha to her again and all Inuyasha could think about was Kagome's extreme mood swings. One minute she was smothering him with a pillow, the next crushing him with a hug. She wasn't even with pup yet! `Yet'… Inuyasha smiled at the thought.

 

“Wait.” Kagome pulled away and looked at Inuyasha questioningly. “You can…pick that sort of thing? Whether you father human pups or hanyou ones? How does that…work?” Kagome's line of vision trailed off to the spot between their bodies until her gaze fell on the hanyou's heavy genitals. Kagome eyed the appendage skeptically and with extreme curiosity. Inuyasha growled with annoyance and his cheeks dusted with pink.

 

“Keh!” Inuyasha huffed indignantly. His face turned away from Kagome and his gaze fell on the almost full moon. “Not like that you crazy wench! It depends on the day! If we mated on the night of the new moon the pup would be born human! And the opposite of that is…”

 

“…The full moon…” Kagome finished, her gaze falling on the moon outside the window as well. “And we'd have hanyou pups?...” she questioned.

 

“That's right. My youki is strongest that night. I practically have demon blood flowing in my veins.” Inuyasha growled.

 

“What about the other nights?” Kagome asked.

 

“Nothing. You wouldn't be pupped.” he answered simply. Kagome giggled at his term.

 

“Pupped?” she asked teasingly.

 

“Keh.” was Inuyasha's only reply as his cheeks deepened in color. Kagome smiled warmly and wrapped her arms around Inuyasha again. She rested her cheek against his chest and stared out the window with her mate. Lips curving into a smile Kagome asked,

 

“Ne Inuyasha? How long until the full moon?”

 

“A few days I think. Why?” he asked none the wiser. After a few seconds Inuyasha's golden eyes widened. “You mean?... Really?!”

 

Kagome giggled at her dense mate and answered,

 

“Yes really. A few days huh? Think we should practice Inu-kun?”

 

Her response was Inuyasha's quick tackle. His body loomed over his mate and a playful growl formed in his throat. Kagome laughed lightly and pulled her lover down for a kiss. After a few moments Inuyasha abruptly pulled back. Kagome looked up dazed and curious. Inuyasha smirked, showing his delicious fangs.

 

“I think there are other rooms we have yet to explore mate.”

 

Kagome's laugh rang throughout the silent house as Inuyasha jumped up and quickly pulled Kagome into his arms bridal style. The naked couple staggered their way out of their bedroom between kisses to `explore' another part of the house…

“…and then we…” Inuyasha huskily retold their night together. Kagome giggled at the hot puffs of air Inuyasha breathed on her neck. Her cheeks tinged pink at the memory as Inuyasha continued. Suddenly Kagome jerked back and lightly hit him on the arm.

 

“I was not that loud!” she protested, completely embarrassed. Inuyasha smirked and teased,

 

“Yes you were. You sounded like this…Oooh Inuyasha! Faster! Har-” Inuyasha's imitation was cut off when Kagome slapped both hands over Inuyasha's mouth, her cheeks flaming red. She narrowed her eyes at her mate and warned,

 

“Keep this up and you may not hear those words from me in a long time!” Inuyasha chuckled behind her hands and gently pried them away from his mouth. The hanyou kissed the inside of each palm before returning them to their owner. Inuyasha's eyes softened and he placed a kiss on Kagome's temple.

 

“I was just teasing mate.” He murmured quietly. Kagome sighed. She never could stay mad at her stupid mate. Just then a thought resurfaced in Kagome's mind.

 

“That reminds me Inuyasha…we should invite Sango and Miroku's kids over soon. I'm sure they need a break as well. We should ask Kaede to allow Shippou over too.” Kagome reminded her mate.

 

“Yeah, I guess I do owe the stupid monk. If it weren't for him and Sango we would have never had the time to…” he let the sentence trail off as he waggled his eyebrows suggestively.

 

“That's all you think about isn't it you pig?” Kagome sighed hopelessly.

 

“I'm an inu hanyou, not a pig. And how could I not with such a beautiful mate?” he cooed.

 

“You got too good with words for my own good. What happened to my brash, crude, insulting Inuyasha?”

 

“He's still there. Only now he has to watch his mouth more so he can get laid.” Inuyasha teased. Kagome flicked his ear in annoyance but knew it was all in good fun. Inuyasha grabbed the hand that flicked his ear and held it lovingly.

 

“Ne Kagome?” he asked.

 

“Hmm?”

 

“What do you say we ask Sango and the pervert if they want to let the kids sleep over tomorrow? And…” he trailed off briefly, “What do you say we let Saaya and Kyo spend tonight with their grandma? I mean, since they haven't seen her in so long. I'm sure she misses the kids. I'd be willing to bet Souta does too…” Kagome eyed Inuyasha amusedly with a small grin surfacing on her features.

 

“I bet my mom would love to have the kids for the night…”

Hope you guys are enjoying it so far!! I want to make this into a pretty…dare I say…lengthy story. I know there's a lot to be covered about the past, but I'm planning to put in flashbacks every now and then to explain things. I was thinking about touching on subjects like Kyo's birth and all. Anything you guys particularly want to know? I'm taking ideas here =)

 

Anyways, thanks for the support so far! Right after I post this I'm going to go work on the next chappie. Heh…they're leaving the kids at grandmas. What could they possibly do to fill the time? =)
