Chapter 11: Shopping and Meeting the Family

 

 

 

An hour later Kagome and Inuyasha were at the mall. Inuyasha's ears were flattened against his head as she dragged him to just about every shoe store. Five shoe stores later Kagome still didn't buy anything.

 

“ Are you gonna buy something or not?” Inuyasha asked annoyed.

 

“ If I find something within my price range that's actually worth buying then yes.” Just then a girl squealed from behind them and the girl practically jumped onto Inuaysha.

 

“ Yash!” She squealed loudly gripping him tightly into an embrace

 

“ Uh.. Hi?” The girls were beginning to blend in his mind. Dark hair, squeaky, and hot.

 

“ It's me Rei!” Inuyasha lightly hugged back the girl as she placed a light kiss on his lips. “ It's been weeks since I've last seen you! I miss our dates.” The girl grinned widely to Inuyasha.

 

“ I'm gonna be in there.” Kagome mumbled softly before walking off into a lingerie store. Every time they went ANYWHERE some girl would recognize Inuyasha, squeal then kiss him. It drove her mad. Kagome walked into the store and couldn't help but blush at all the different types of skimpy lingerie and whatnot. It was embarrassing but she loved lingerie shopping.

 

Inuyasha walked into the store uncomfortably. Sure he'd been in there with loads of women but never had to walk in on his own. Kagome was still near the front of the store so he didn't have to wander aimlessly looking for her. Thank God. She was looking through a section of lacy bras.

 

“ I like the red one.” Inuyasha whispered in a low voice from behind her sending excited shivers down Kagome's spine.

 

“ I'm sure you do you hentai.” Kagome said walking to another rack with Inuyasha following just like a puppy. Inuyasha sighed from boredom. “ Why don't you go get something to eat, I'll call you when I'm done shopping.”

 

“ Nah, I'm not hungry.” Kagome burst into disbelieving laughter. “ Plus if I leave you here it'll be hours before we go.” Kagome stopped laughing and glared at Inuyasha.

 

“ You're not funny.”

 

“ Never said I was.” He walked next to Kagome and his eyes locked on a very revealing red teddy. He stopped in his tracks and pictured Kagome wearing it around the apartment. He picked it up. “ You're so getting this.” Kagome looked at the price tag.

 

“ It's expensive and what the heck am I supposed to do with a teddy?” Inuyasha waggled his eyebrows to Kagome whose brow furrowed a little in anger.

 

“ Wear it.. I'll even pay for it.” Kagome blushed a little bit.

 

“ Well if you're gonna pay for it might as well get it. But I'm NOT wearing this around the apartment.” Inuyasha pouted but Kagome stood her ground arms folded.

 

“ Fine.” Inuyasha began looking around and picking up random things dragging Kagome behind holding up various different garments to her. Kagome couldn't help but turn red from embarrassment. Did he really think she would wear those things around him? She probably wouldn't be able to look herself in a mirror wearing stuff like that.

 

“ Don't we have to go to your parents' house?” Kagome said gently pushing away a satin nightgown that Inuyasha was holding up to her.

 

“ Yea, but now this is interesting.” Inuyasha smirked, Kagome blushed and gently punched him in the arm.

 

“ C'mon put that stuff back, let's go.” Kagome got into the line and Inuyasha still held the armfuls of lingerie. “ C'mon put it back.”

 

“ Hell no, you're getting all of this.” Kagome sighed thinking that she definitely couldn't afford to buy all of that. Hell she could barely afford to buy one of them. “ I'm buying it. Consider it a… thanks for breakfast present.” Inuyasha replied coolly.

 

“ Just one.” Kagome compromised.

 

“ Fine.”

 

 

 

 

Two hours later the two arrived at Inuyasha's house. Kagome gasped a little seeing the size of the house. Inuyasha chuckled; Kagome's nose was practically smashed against the passenger window. They parked and Inuyasha helped Kagome out of the car. He could smell the nervousness in her scent.

 

“ Relax.” He told her as they approached the door. Kagome nodded silently as Inuyasha rang the doorbell. A little toad demon opened up the door.

 

“M-Master Inuyasha.. C-come in..” The toad demon bowed showing them inside.

 

“ What's wrong with him?” Kagome whispered as they walked further into the house.

 

“ I used to play practical jokes on him when I was a kid.” Inuyasha smirked thinking of all the tricks he used to pull. Kagome marveled at all the fantastic décor of the house as they walked towards one of the living rooms. They finally reached one and Inuyasha smiled because Kagome still had stars in her eyes. He wondered in a very dirty way what else he could do to make her look that dazed.

 

` Bad dog demon,' Inuyasha thought to himself.

 

“ Ahem. Master Inuyasha and guest have arrived.” Jaken presented Inuyasha and Kagome. Inutaisho, Inuyasha's father put down the newspaper he was reading and Izayoi, Inuyasha's mother shut off the soap opera she was watching on the wide screen plasma tv.

 

“ My baby has returned back home!” Izayoi squealed hugging her son tightly.

 

“ He needs to breath.” Inutaisho laughed at the way his son's face was turning bright blue. Izayoi choked back a little happy sob releasing her son.

 

“ So this is the delightful girl on the phone?!” Izayoi said turning to Kagome who was smiling nervously. She pulled Kagome into a hug.“ Oh she's just precious.”

 

“ Hey mom, where's Sesshoumaru?” Inuyasha interrupted his mother.

 

“ Umm.. I don't know.. In his room maybe. He'll pop out eventually. That's Inuyasha's half brother. Delightful guy when you get to know him. He just got back from a trip to Hong Kong.” Izayoi told Kagome who nodded.

 

“ Has my son caused a lot of trouble?” Inutaisho asked. Kagome began laughing and nodded in affirmation. “So he's still a little hell raiser. That's my boy.”

 

“ He's great though. He's actually fairly neat. Can't cook or buy groceries though.” Kagome told them. Izayoi snickered and Inuyasha blushed.

 

“ When he lived here, his room was like a DISASTER zone.” Inuyasha blushed from embarrassment as his mom spoke.

 

“ Aww Mom, look you made the puppy blush.” A cool voice spoke from behind them. Kagome and Inuyasha turned around and Kagome immediately thought that the Takahashi family was blessed with gorgeous men. She gasped slightly, her voice had caught in her throat. He looked a lot like Inuyasha, without the cute dog-ears though. The man behind them was just two inches taller than Inuyasha with long silver hair tied back in ponytail. His eyes were amber just like Inuyasha and Inutaisho's just a bit narrower. She couldn't help but gape a little bit at the guy.. He was hot. Inuyasha growled noticing how she made eyes at his brother and how it amused Sesshoumaru so much.

 

“ Shut up Fluffy.” Inuyasha snarled. “This is my brother Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru this is Kagome.” Sesshoumaru smirked and took Kagome's hand in his. Kagome blushed and Inuyasha growled low so that only Inutaisho and Sesshoumaru's keen hearing could pick it up. Sesshoumaru kissed Kagome's hand before releasing it.

 

“ My brother must be on the good side of the gods to receive such an attractive roommate.” Inuyasha growled again even though he knew that Sesshoumaru was just trying to make him irritated.

 

“ Back off, Fluffy.” Sesshoumaru glared a little bit at his little brother. Kagome grabbed onto Inuyasha's arm and Inuyasha instantly calmed. Kagome took note of this and rested her head on his shoulder hoping to lift his spirits. After all, she was the one who really wanted to go to dinner here. She might as well keep him somewhat civil. Inuyasha blushed slightly at the random act of affection but relaxed once her head was on his shoulder.

 

“ Why don't you show her around the house?” Inutaisho suggested. “ Do you want a guest room or to stay in Inuyasha's?” Inuyasha's head tilted in a very dog like fashion which caused Kagome to giggle a little bit.

 

“ Wait, what?!” Kagome asked realizing what was said and implied.. “ Have a room? Huh? And why would I share with Inuyasha?!” Kagome was now on about the same page as Inuyasha.

 

“ You're staying here the night silly. It's the weekend. You can go back tomorrow afternoon.” Izayoi insisted purposely ignoring Kagome's last question.

 

“ I definitely want the guest room. No way am I sharing with Inuyasha.” Kagome giggled as Inuyasha pouted a little bit. “ But we don't even have any clothes.”

 

“ I'm sure we can find you something.” Inutaisho replied cheerily.

 

“ Well I did buy you that...” Kagome coughed interrupting Inuyasha's sentence. Inuyasha had a lecherous glint in his caramel colored eyes.. He hung out with Miroku wayyy too much.

 

“ What'd you buy her little brother?” Sesshoumaru asked smirking. Kagome was bright red with embarrassment and she felt like her cheeks were so hot they'd set her black hair on fire.

 

“ He bought me a cookie.. A cookie.. What about that tour?” Kagome laughed nervously pulling Inuyasha out of the room. A loud smack was heard and the growled obscenities from Inuyasha. Both Inutaisho and Sesshoumaru cocked an eyebrow and Izayoi began to laugh.

 

“ This is my room.” Inuyasha opened up the door to a bedroom nearly the size of their entire apartment.

 

“ My GOD!” Kagome squeaked as they walked in. Inuyasha chuckled softly at her reaction.

 

“ Yea, it's a little small.” Kagome playfully smacked Inuyasha on the shoulder. Kagome jumped onto Inuyasha's large California King size bed loving how perfectly soft the mattress was. Kagome stood up after a few moments.

 

“ Okay where's `my room'?” Kagome inquired smiling. Inuyasha smirked and they walked out of the room right across the hallway was Kagome's room. “ Geez how many rooms does this place have?” Kagome looked down the long hallway with numerous doors.

 

“ 8 Bedrooms 9 and a half Bathrooms.. Blah blah..” Inuyasha opened up the door to Kagome's room. There were already 3 kimonos laid out on the bed.

 

“ This house is great.” Kagome muttered as she walked around the large room.

 

“ Dinner will be served in half an hour.” Jaken said after knocking on Kagome's door.

 

“ Am I supposed to change?” Kagome asked Inuyasha who smirked.

 

“ If you want you could change into that hot teddy I bought you today. Then we could skip dinner.” Kagome threw a pillow that hit Inuyasha in the face. “ It was only a suggestion!”

 

“ A very bad suggestion.”

 

 

 

Dinner was wonderful and Kagome got to learn more about Inuyasha's family. How Inutaisho built up his business from nothing and about Sesshoumaru's mother.

 

“ So what are you majoring in?” Asked Inutaisho, Kagome finished her last bite of food before answering.

 

“ I want to be a neonatologist.”

 

“ That's a lot of school.”

 

“ Oh it's no problem. I LOVE to study. Something about books and taking notes to me is fun.”

 

“ You are so weird.” Inuyasha laughed.

 

“ Hey, it may be weird but it got me into T.U didn't it?”

 

“ You are just so adorable.” Izayoi said to Kagome.

 

“ Mom, you've told her that a bunch of times already. I think she gets it.” Inuyasha said picking at his food with his chopsticks.

 

“ But I do have to agree. She is absolutely…” Sesshoumaru was cut off by Inuyasha's growling.

 

“ Back off FLUFFY!” Inuyasha snarled.

 

“ Only if you quit calling me Fluffy.” Sesshoumaru snarled back. The mild argument had gone on for several moments and Izayoi later revealed that Sesshoumaru just liked to torment Inuyasha a little bit. Sesshoumaru was actually engaged to a girl named Rin.

 

“ That was one of the best meals I've ever eaten!” Kagome said after dinner.

 

“ Feh, you cook better.” Inuyasha scowled and Kagome just smiled. They all said goodnight before going off to their own rooms.

 

“ You're so darn cheeky!” Kagome said sticking her tongue out at Inuyasha.

 

“ Feh. Come on, wear the lingerie I bought you!” Inuyasha whined as they entered his room.

 

“ No.”
