Hey guys, I am writing another chapter to the story I hope you like it, oh by the way thanks to inudoggie, gemjeweler (I think I spelt it right), and all the other loyal fans. Here you go…

Chapter 12: rejection, a painful thing

"Inuyasha…why did you do that?"

"What do you mean `why did I do that?'?"

"Inuyasha please don't say it."

"But I love you."

"I told you not to say that."

"But I do."

"I'm sorry Inuyasha I do not feel that way for you I…"

"Save it. I have to go the others are waiting for you to get back. They want you to hurry up."

"I will."

Inuyasha jumped out the window without another word, not wanting to talk anymore.

Kayome reached for the phone and started dialing numbers for a friend.

Sango, Miroku, Kouga, Shippo, and Rikku sat out side of the Wolf's Den, awaiting Kayome's return. Inuyasha had left about an hour ago and they were starting to worry about him.

"Do you think they are ok?" Shippo asked.

"They will be fine. Don't worry."

Naraku smiled at him and got to his feet.

"I will be right back I have to do something really quick."

"Oh no you don't."

Miroku was blocking him and would not let him leave.

"Miroku you still do not trust me. Alright then come with me."

"Fine but try anything and I will pull you into my wind tunnel no matter what the cost."

"Alright you won't have to though."

They walked into the forest and about 5 minutes later Kayome and another girl came walking toward them.

"Kayome who is this?" Kouga asked staring at his daughter.

"This is my friend. Her name is Hotaru."

"Will she be staying here with us?"

"Yes and tell all those dogs in there that if they lay a hand on her they will have me to deal with."

"Ok they will not touch her, promise."

"Were is Inuyasha?" Kayome looked around to double check as she asked.

"We thought he was with you."

"And where is Naraku?"

"Here I am."

Naraku had discarded the old body he had been forced inside, he now had long white hair (like Sesshou's) and beautiful ice-blue eyes. Black fox ears were on top of his head and a bushy black tail with a white tip swished behind him. He was very tall and looked very powerful and majestic, but his face was kind and gentle.

"Naraku?"

"Ya can you believe it?"

Miroku came walking up behind him.

"I never knew."

Hotaru stared at the hanyou and almost melted.

"Who is she?"

"Oh Naraku this is Hotaru. She is one of my friends from the modern times."

"Is it just me or is it really quiet?" Shippo jumped on Kayome's shoulder and looked at her.

"It's really quiet. C'mon Hotaru, we are going to the hot springs. Be back soon."

Shippo was going to go with them but Sango told him he had to stay here and leave the girls alone.

The girls got there and stripped to their birthday suits and stepped into the warm water.

"Was that the guy you were talking about Kayome?"

"Ya but he didn't look like that when I left, now he is even hotter."

"Wow, I think he likes you too."

"Why do you say that?"

"Cause when he walked into the place where we were the first person he looked at was you."

"That's just cause I asked were he was."

"No he totally likes you."

They laughed out loud unaware that a certain amber-eyed hanyou was listening…
