It's me again. Ready for another exciting chapter? I am. Poor Kayome, she is having a real bad day. Damn that Kikyo. Oh and I wanted to know if any of you knew how to post on fanfiction.com. Cause I don't. It won't let me or I don't know how. Either way I want to. Ok well tell me and here I go…

Chapter 12: Naraku and Kayome

Kayome had her eyes closed tight. She could hear voices distant and faint, but she could make them out.

"She has to go back! They need to defeat Kikyo!"

The woman was yelling.

`That voice sounds familiar.'

"Kagome we can not make her go back. There is only one way and besides she is dead. We don't send people back just like that."

`It's my mom.'

"Sir, she has to go back. Use the Jewel of Four Souls."

"But that would make it useless. Then what?"

"Sir there is another remember that. No one on earth knows about it, which means it will kept a secret, no one will know. Then they will think that it is pointless to search for the Shikon and the battles will end."

"Kagome do you realize that if that jewel fell into the hands of the wrong person then the outcome could be horrible."

Kagome didn't say anything.

"Kagome I know you want her to go back, but I can't think of anyway to do it without putting mortals and immortals in danger."

Kagome studied his face. The whispy white hair was receding on his forehead and his face was very wrinkled. The Purple eyes were cold but at the same time they were caring and concerned.

"Please sir. She needs to go back. Her life can not be over yet."

Tears ran down her cheeks.

"Fine, but Kayome will be the keeper of the other. When she returns she must begin the search for it. You will help her shortly after. We will talk about the details later. Now send her back."

Kayome opened her eyes. She was looking up toward the sky.

She turned her head and looked at the person next to her. Sango was covering her wounds in some kind of cream. She looked down and noticed she was topless.

"Ahh!" She covered herself and nearly fainted from the pain in her shoulders.

"Don't worry," Sango helped her to sit up and lean against a tree,

"No one is here. I Made them leave."

"Oh." The word was hard to spit out thru the agonizing pain.

She put her arms down and concentrated on her breathing.

"You gave us all a scare. We thought you had died." She smiled wearily.

"But I did die. My mother was asked someone to let me go back. They used the jewel to send me. Where is it?"

"Kikyo took before she left. We don't have it."

"Thank god. It is pointless to keep. It won't work any more."

Sango frowned, "What now?"

Kayome concentrated on what they had said.

"I have to search for the other. There is another one."

"No way!"

"Ya we have to get to everyone. I need to tell them this. Can I have a shirt before we go?"

Sango handed her a plain blue kimono.

"Here wear this."

Inuyasha, Miroku, Shippo, Kouga, Rikku, Hotaru, and Naraku were sitting at the back of the cave waiting for Kayome and Sango to come back.

When the wolves started to go nuts they figured someone had to be here.

Many of the Wolf youkai went to see what was the matter and came back helping Kayome in.

The wolves were yipping and howling all trying to get close to her.

"Thank you Guys."

Sango sat down next to Miroku, While Naraku helped Kay sit down and then sat behind her for support.

Inuyasha glared evily at him.

`She will fall for me. Not to worry.'

`Ya keep telling yourself that mutt. She likes him and you know it.'

`Shut up. What do you know?!'

`I know your in denile.'

Inuyasha quit thinking to himself and listened to Kayome.

She told them that she had been dead and now the jewel was useless. That she need to search for a different one and that it would be very bad if someone who wanted it to destroy things and what not got a hold of it, the outcome would be horrible.

"What do you mean there is another jewel?"

Inuyasha was still adjetated at Naraku for sitting so close to her.

Kayome sighed. There is another Jewel we have to find it. ok"

She leaned back against Naraku and winced in pain.

Naraku looked around at the group and spoke, "I know of someplace we could stay till Kayome is healed."

"What, The wolf den isn't safe enough?" Kouga looked insulted.

Kayome looked at her shoulders. "Apparently no it is not. I say we stay at the place Naraku knows."

She got up and stood unsteadily. "Let's go now. I want to… Nothing lets go."

Inuyasha and the others looked at her while Naraku also rose to steady her.

"Alright if you aren't going then don't but I am not going to wait forever for you to get off your asses and follow so come if you want I really don't care. Naraku and her made for the cave entrance when a female figure appeared. You couldn't see her face but you could tell she had wings. The sun slowly disappeared behind the clouds and the woman became clearer.

"Hello Kayome."

Kayome looked at her.

"Mom."

Kagome nodded and walked toward her daughter but was almost nocked back by the force of Shippo.

"KAGOME!" he started to sob.

"I thought I would never see you again." He buried his face into her shoulder and continued to weep.

"I missed you too Shippo." She hugged him affectionately then was smothered by Sango's arms around her neck, containing her in a huge hug.

They continued to hug till Miroku came over and removed Sango from Kagome, "Hello lady Kagome."

"Hello Miroku. Hello Inuyasha."

Inuyasha stared at her. "Kagome, I missed you."

Kayome looked at him and knew she was old news now that hger mother was here.

"Mom how did you get here?"

"I am only staying here for I a little while. Then I have to return. I am here to help you hunt for the other jewel.

C'mon we should get going if we are going to get to where we are going before dark. Lead the way Naraku"

He nodded and they all began to walk out when Fira Transformed and stood next to Kayome.

"Thank you fira."

She got on the Fox and Naraku looked at her.

"You want to ride too. If the others get on Kilala, Mom can fly and inuyasha can ride or run it's up to him.

Naraku got on behind her, Sango, Miroku, and Hotaru got onto Kilala.

Rikku was going to stay with the pack but Kouga insisted he come. So Inuyasha, Kouga, and Rikku ran.

Kagome flew steadily behind the fox while the other followed.

"Kayome I wanted to tell you something. But I didn't want to tell you infront of anyone."

"Ok what is it?"

He looked at her and blushed slightly.

"I was glad when you walked into the cave. I was relieved, I didn't want you to die."

She smiled at him, "Do you like me Naraku?"

"Yes very much so."

"She turned sa far back as she could to look at him.

"Good cause I was afraid it was a one way crush."

He gently pressed his lips against hers.

"I will protect you no matter what my Kayome."
