A/N: Weird chapter, it's not a filler per say but it's not huge like the last 2 chapters. Because Inuyasha marked her, the words are now legible and she'll find out what both mating marks mean. That's a kinda big milestone.

I'm trying a new thing in the writing besides the (()) for author's comment, the () for extras now there is italics in the dialogue, the italics is suppose to symbolize that they mean it sarcastically, or those words are in a different tone from the rest of the speech. As for the thoughts and stuff, you see Kagome and Sesshomaru's double up, back to back paragraphs, this is because they are thinking this at the same time, but of course it's 2 separate thoughts so it's in 2 separate paragraphs. A lot of thoughts in this story.

This chapter goes out to my # 1 fan! She always posts comments after each chapter and she gives me the inspiration that I need to continue this story, from the lack of reviews and lack of views, a person could get easily disappointed. I'd also like to think JamminChick93613 for being my beta!

 

The Marks

 

Kagome slept peacefully beside Inuyasha until…

 

“Momma” Inuyasha was the first to awake.

 

“Hush runt, she's sleeping” He hissed. Kagome awoke.

 

“It's alright, what is it Shippo?” She asked.

 

“Breakfast will be ready soon, why are you sleeping with Inuyasha” Shippo asked.

 

Kagome blushed slightly at the question.

 

“He is my mate now” Kagome answered.

 

“What about Sesshomaru?” He asked.

 

“He's my mate too” She added.

 

“Does that mean I have 2 fathers?” He asked. ((Certainly a lotta questions))

 

“I guess it does” Kagome replied.

 

“So are you coming?” He asked.

 

“I have to get dressed first, Inuyasha will you go get me some clothes?” Kagome asked. Shippo ran off.

 

“Sure, mate” Inuyasha said. He grabbed his clothes and went to her room.

 

It was empty, no Sesshomaru to bother him. ((No surprise there, He's always in the study or the garden)) Once he got there he wasn't sure what to pick out.

 

“Need help little brother” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“Kagome asked me to pick out clothes for her and I'm not sure what to pick” He admitted truthfully.

 

“What have you already picked out?” He asked, somewhat interested. Inuyasha showed him a black tank top and a skirt.

 

“That looks acceptable” He said.

 

Inuyasha ran off to give it to her. Kagome wore her underwear from the day before ((still clean people, they were fresh)).

 

“Thanks Yasha” She said. He smiled.

 

`I forgot I even packed these' Kagome tied her hair up in a ponytail.

 

She went downstairs to join the others for breakfast. She found that they were already gone except Sesshomaru.

 

“Good morning mate” She said.

 

“Good morning” Sesshomaru repeated. She gave him a nice hug.

 

“What was that for?” He asked.

 

“Can't I show you some love?” She teased. He didn't answer.

 

`She's in a good mood and the half-breed puts her in that way, they mated loudly, she seemed to enjoy it more. Maybe because she loves him and has desired him awhile or maybe because he does it the way she likes, I have no idea. She seems to be thinking about something though'

 

`I thought he was ok with Inuyasha becoming my mate, I should have known it was too good to be true, he could never feel like a real man with me having another. I've probably embarrassed him in front of his youkai friends and other Lords. I'm so selfish for doing that to him'

 

“Why are you like this?” She asked.

 

“Like what?” He asked.

 

“You act like you can't stand being around me, that I hurt your senses or something” She answered.

 

“I have not, everything is fine between us, do you doubt me?” He asked.

 

`Duh! You've been so cold towards me, we haven't had any physical contact in awhile, you seem like you strain when you call me mate, I haven't even seen you go visit Kashia anymore, Was I a mistake to you?'

 

“I'm not sure' she answered.

 

“Kagome don't doubt our bond, I love you and our pup and nothing will change that” He said.

 

“Then why are you so distant from me?” She asked.

 

`She still doesn't believe me; she continues to question my feelings for her. IF I did not truly love her and our pup, I would have casted them away for awhile, I do not see why I am attempting to explain myself to her'

 

 `Does he need so long to answer me? What is there to think about? Have my questions upset him or does he not wish to answer? He's not like Inuyasha, I can't see his emotions, I can't guess how he feels'

 

“You've just been so far away, I don't feel close to you anymore” She said.

 

“I have not been distant” He argued.

 

“When's the last time you've kissed me?” She asked.

 

`IS that all she wants from a lover, outward displays of emotion and affection, she knows I'm not good at either. Maybe that's why she needed Inuyasha, am I not fulfilling enough for her?'

 

“Hugs and kisses aren't my way to show love, protecting you, having your humans and son here, allowing you to take another mate are though” He said.

 

`I have seemed to forget all he's put up with, he does care about me and he does love me. I am stupid for questioning that, I know everything he does is for a purpose and besides I don't need him to be so affectionate, Inuyasha can do it'

 

“I'm sorry for doubting you” she whispered.

 

“Don't apologize, just have faith in me” He said. Inuyasha walked in.

 

“Morning mate” he said, kissing her on the cheek.

 

“Morning Yasha” She said.

 

“Morning Sess” He said.

 

“Morning” Sesshomaru grumbled.

 

“Kagome, I should check on your mark” Sess hinted.

 

“Why?” She asked.

 

“To see if I can read it” He answered.

 

“I marked her on her right shoulder” Inuyasha added.

 

“Well...” She said.

 

“He marked you, successfully, and it's legible” He answered.

 

“What does it say?” She asked.

 

“The one” Inuyasha said.

 

“Sesshy, what did your mark say?” She asked. He pretended to peer on her left side.

 

“My soul mate” he replied.

 

`His is sweet and special, his soul mate, I mean that much to him. Inuyasha's is very truthful, but I know what it is related to. He chose me over Kikyo and so now he marks me as the one, his only one. I guess that's good too. I didn't know Sesshomaru's was so powerful'

 

`She seems to be happy from the information, maybe because I marked her as the one, maybe because Sesshomaru's said Soul Mate, why didn't he tell her before about it? She was marked months ago, it's been a year since I lost her and last night I got her back'

 

`Confusion waves off from the Hanyou but pure happiness from Kagome, it makes sense, she questions my love for her and our pup but she reads what I marked her with and all her doubts should be gone. I should have told her sooner but it wasn't the message that's important, it's that I've marked her.

 

Kagome smiled.

 

“My mates” She said breathlessly. They turned to look at her. She looked all dreamy eyed and happy. Truly brought them joy to see how much they've affected her.

 

“I'm going to see Kashia” She said.

 

“No” Sess said.

 

“Why?” She asked.

 

“We are weaning her off of you, so she can not be so attached emotionally” Sess answered.

 

“When was that decided?” She questioned.

 

“A few days ago” Yasha jumped in.

 

“By whom?” She asked, growing angry. Neither one answered.

 

“Why didn't anyone tell me?” She asked, getting hysterical.

 

“It's what all pups go through, it's no big deal” Yasha tried to calm her.

 

“When can I see her again?” She asked, clearly saddened by the news.

 

“In a week's time” Sess answered her.

 

`Why didn't Sess tell her? I assumed because of their close bond and honestly he'd tell her so she would know. It's a little shocking that she hasn't seen her flesh and blood in a week'

 

`I can't believe they both knew and didn't tell me, its Sesshy's job, he was my mate so he knows how important she is to me'

 

`I couldn't tell her, she wouldn't have agreed to it anyway, she would have rebelled or something else extreme over it'
