Goodbye

Kouga took Ayame off to the side.

“Why do you insist on hurting Lady Kagome's feelings?” He asked.

“I am not, just purely asking question” She answered.

“Back down Ayame, Kagome will purify you” He warned.

She remained quiet. “Stay here get dressed for bed & try not to get in trouble” He said. He went to find Kagome.

“Lady Kagome, I apologize for Ayame's poor behavior earlier, I hope she didn't offend you” Kouga said.

“No she didn't, I'm sure she'll be better in the morning” She smiled.

“Kagome, would you consider taking another mate?” He asked playfully.

“Um…no thanks” She hated being alone with him. `I feel bad, sleepy and lightheaded'

“Kagome, Are you alright?” Kouga asked but she couldn't answer because she fainted.

Luckily he caught her but Sess & Inuyasha were right there in an instant.

“What did you do to her, wolf?” Sess asked.

“Nothing, we were talking and she fainted” Kouga answered.

“You're lying mutt” Yasha said.

“I am not” Kouga argued.

“Stop pups, Inuyasha take our mate to the miko healer, Kouga will remain here with me” Sess said.

Inuyasha took Kagome from Kouga. “Wolf, what were you doing alone with my mate?” Sess questioned.

“Apologizing for Ayame's poor behavior” He answered. “Is that all?” Sess asked.

“Yes” Kouga answered quickly. `He lies' Sess threw him up again a wall. “Do not lie” He threatened.

“I was joking around with her, asking her if she wanted another mate” He said.

“Do not joke around like that or be unsupervised with my make keep Ayame in line” He walked off to see Kagome.

“Will she be ok?” Inuyasha asked.

“Yes child, but a little bit of time will be needed” Kaede said.

“She will awake shortly, do not allow her to do much” Kaede said.

Kagome slowly opened her eyes. “Kouga…mate” She whispered.

“Kouga” Inuyasha growled.

“Calm down, Kouga asked to be her 3rd mate, I have taken care of the problem now” Sess said.

Kouga walked in “Is she alright?” “I'm alright” She whispered.

“I just wanted to be sure, goodnight” He left.

“Sesshy, did you do something to Kouga” Kagome asked.

“I did what was needed” He answered.

“Did you use physical violence?” She asked.

“Yes” He said.

“You will leave him alone” She ordered.

“No promises” Sess said.

“Kagome, please rest” Kaede said.

“Not here” She objected. But Kaede already left to her room.

“Mate, I will carry you to our room, I will be in the study. Kashia is being watched in the nursery room” Sess scooped her up & placed her in his bed.

“Goodnight” She whispered.

`This Sesshomaru will stop you from hurting. Naraku will die by my hand'

“Kagura, please get Inuyasha & bring him to my study” He said. `Foolish Inus, your poor miko will suffer soon'

She went off to find Inuyasha. “Lord Inuyasha, Lord Sesshomaru requests your presence in his study” She said. She secluded herself to a private area.

She hurried to Kagome's side.

“Lady Kagome, are you alright?” She asked.

“Yes Kagura, how is my pup?” She asked.

“Fairly well, she is nearly crawling just a few more days now” She smiled.

“Are you working with Naraku?” Kagome asked.

“Of course not, I only worship Lord Sesshomaru” She lied.

“Very well, I'm going to sleep” She whispered.

Kagura went back to the study, she knocked twice.

“Enter” He said.

“Just a status report, Lady Kagome is asleep & Princess Kashia is too” She said.

“Very good now leave” Sess said.

“I doubt something” Inuyasha said.

“Do not keep me in suspense” Sess said dryly.

“Do you know where Kagura's loyalty lies?” Inuyasha asked.

“With me” Sess asked.

“Are you sure she doesn't hold a grudge against Kagome for stealing me away” Inuyasha questioned.

“For her safety, I will remove Kagura from her care” Sess said.

“It's late, let us rest, being tired doesn't help Kagome” Inuyasha said.

“I do not require nightly rest” Sess said.

“Good night big brother” Inuyasha said.

“Good night little brother” Sess said, almost smiling.

He slowly went back to his room. `She isn't sleeping, why?'

“Miko, why aren't you sleeping?” He asked.

“Waiting for you, youkai” Kagome replied.

“I was working” He said.

“Kagura kept me company” Kagome said.

“She is not allowed around you anymore” Sess stated.

“Because you no longer trust her” She said.

“No more talking, rest” Sess said.

“Only if you join me” She said. He climbed into bed wrapping his muscular arms around her waist.

“Good night Kagome” He whispered in her ear, sending shivers up her spine.

“Good night fluffy” She went to sleep smiling.

She awoke to see find Sess gone and the servants cleaning up around the room.

“Can someone bring me breakfast?” She asked.

“Yes Lady Kagome” someone whispered.

Kagura arrived to bring her some breakfast.

“A special tea was made for you” She said, placing the tray on a table.

“Thanks Kagura, that'll be all for now” She dismissed her.

`I know she is setting me up for Naraku, but if I don't then I put my family at risk'

She slowly sipped her tea. Sess walked in. “Good morning mate, did you sleep well?” He asked.

“Very well, a servant brought breakfast to me” She said.

“Did you order tea?” Sess asked.

“No, but it was brought with the meal” She said.

“Was it test tasted?” He asked.

“No, but any poison would have been purified by my touch from the cup” She answered, guessing the answer would be true.

“So what are you doing today?” She asked.

“Why?” He asked.

“Because I was wondering if you'd escort me to the gardens today” She said.

“No, you are supposed to be resting today” He said.

“Oh please Sess” She begged.

“No” He said firmly.

“Will you at least have someone stay with me today?” She asked.

“I'll stay” Inuyasha volunteered walking in.

“Thanks mate, at least one of them isn't too busy” She teased.

“Bye Fluffy” Inuyasha teased.

“Do not call me fluffy” He said walking out.

“Thanks for staying” Kagome smiled.

“No problem, sorry you're stuck inside” He said.

“Will you take me outside later?” She asked.

“Sess said no” Yasha said.

“So now you obey Sess” She said.

“No” He exclaimed.

“Then please” She begged.

“Sorry” He said honestly.

“Will you sleep with me?” She asked.

“What?” His eyes bugged out.

“Not like that” She laughed.

“Oh ok” He shrugged, getting in bed behind her.

`I love you soo much, I will miss you, and if anything happens to me at least my mates can raise my children'

Kagome slowly fell asleep.

Dream

“Miko, do you willing come to me?” Naraku asked. “How did you get in my dream?” Kagome asked. “The tea lets me control you, but your miko powers can still overpower the spell” He said. “I'll come to you willing, on a few conditions” She said, answering his first question.

“Name them” He urged. “You will leave my children and friends out of it, and you will get me out of the castle unseen” She said. “I can do that, I'll summon you tonight, do not rebel against me” He said.

“What do you mean?” She asked. “I've been trying to use mind communication for several hours” he said. “I feel myself awaking, talk to me later” She said.

“Kagome, it's time to eat” Inuyasha shook her awake.

“I'm up” She said.

“Sess will be here shortly” He informed her.

“Why?” She asked.

“He's your mate too, unless you don't want him” He taunted.

“OF course I want him” She said.

“Good to hear” He said walking in.

“It's rude to eavesdrop” She said.

“This is my castle, I can eavesdrop” He said.

“Why did she eat?” Sess asked to Inuyasha.

“I'm right here, I just awoke from my nap” She said.

“I'll wait for you to eat” He said.

“Aren't you two going to eat?” She asked.

“No” Sess answered.

“I'm full from breakfast” Yasha said.

Kagome slowly ate her stew.

“Do you want new tea?” Inuyasha asked.

“Nope, I'm content with this one” She said, taking a huge gulped of it.

“Eep” She jumped out.

“Are you ok?” Sess asked.

“Yes, just ate too fast” She lied.

`They know you're lying'

“Why did you lie?” Sess asked.

“I don't know” she admitted truthfully.

“What's wrong?” Inuyasha asked.

`Say that someone is trying to access your mind'

“It felt like someone was trying to access my mind” She said.

`Good job Miko, very nice of you to do so'

`You are scaring me, at least give me some warning'

`My mistake'

“Did they get through?” Inuyasha asked.

“Of course not, my mind is not that simple to crack” Kagome laughed.

“Proud of you” He teased.

“It's nearly 3, I must get back to work, see you at dinner” Sess said. “I have to leave as well, sorry mate” Inuyasha said.

“See you at dinner” Kagome said.

`Alone at last, not that I didn't enjoy the company'

`Don't lie miko, you are sick of being babied'

`Don't invade my private thoughts'

`It was not apart of your conditions'

`When are you taking me away?'

`As soon as you can get outside, I'll send someone to get you'

`What if I can't?'

`Try to convince Inuyasha or get Kagura to do it'

`I promise, tonight will be it. I'll say goodbye'

`I'll get my last kisses in'

`Very well Miko'

“Kagome, time to get dressed for dinner” Kagura said.

“What?” Kagome exclaimed.

“You need to be dressed formally” She explained.

“Lucky me” She grumbled.

“Here” She laid out a bunch of garments on the bed.

“You must wear several layers of clothing, start with this one” She handed her a thin slip.

After each painful layer was placed on top of each other right now.

“You look wonderful, don't forget to be respectful to the lords and Lady Ayame” She whispered.

“Thanks, I'll try to hold my peace” She smiled widely.

“Are you ready?” Sess asked.

“Yes” She answered through the door. “You look wonderful” Inuyasha gasped.

“Thanks” She blushed. She was glad to be out of the room.

“Good evening milords” Kagome said.

“Good evening Lord Sesshomaru, Lady Kagome and Lord Inuyasha” They said in unison.

“Good evening” Sess greeted.

“Now dinner is served” Kagura said. They had a delicious meal. A variety of meats and a salad was served.

“So Lady Kagome, where is your daughter?” Ayame asked.

“In her nursery, being properly cared for by servants” She said.

“Do you ever care for her?” Ayame asked.

“Do not question my mate about our daughter for any reason” Sess snapped.

“Sorry Lord Sesshomaru” Ayame looked down.

“So how is your daughter?” Kouga asked.

“She's fine, growing up wonderfully” Kagome answered.

“We haven't seen much of you today” Lord Trevor said.

“I fell ill earlier today and was on bed rest” She explained.

“You always make the castle feel lighter, we missed you today” Lord Troy said.

“I'm glad that you missed me so much” She smiled.

`I didn't miss you, or your fake smiles. The only reason I backed down is because Sesshomaru would kill me or you'd fry me'

“Ayame, does the meal not satisfy you?” Kagome asked.

“It is very satisfying, I am just lost in thought” She said.

“Do not be so distracted” Kouga whispered.

“It's alright, I didn't mean to draw attention to her” Kagome said truthfully.

“No, it's not alright” Kouga said. Kagome took a sip of sake.

`Did you wish to draw attention to her?'

`Of course not'

`Then do not say anything to her or about her, it is awful to put her in such a position'

`I do not need your permission to do anything'

“Lady Kagome, are you ok?” Lord Trevor asked.

“Yes, I'm sorry, just felt dizzy all of a suddenly” She lied. The other lords took note of it as well.

`Try to get outside as soon as possible'

`Do not tell me what to do, I need more time, I have yet to see Rin & Shippo'

`Do not worry about them, they will be ok without you'

`I am more worried of how I'll survive without them'

“Do you wish to lay down?” Sess asked.

“No” Kagome said quickly, she slowly ate some food to impress them.

“Do you require fresh air?” Kagura asked.

“Yes, I do, but not yet. I want to see my pups first” She said.

“May I escort you?” She asked.

“No, I do not require escorting, I am within the castle walls” She smiled gently.

“May I be excused?” She asked.

“Lady Kagome, it is rude to leave the dinner table so quickly” Ayame added.

“Do not tell me what is rude Ayame, you have been nothing put rude since you have arrived here, unless you wish to be purified to a piece of dust then you best be quiet” Kagome threatened.

Ayame's mouth was left snapped shut.

“Do not think that you will be free of consequence, I will see you and Kouga in my study after dinner” Sess said. Kouga just nodded and Ayame didn't even say anything.

Kagome's hands were glowing brightly. She was pissed off at the audacity of Ayame's words. “

My pups, I am glad to see” She whispered.

“Momma” They cheered.

“Your hands, they're glowing” Shippo said. Kagome glanced down.

“Oh, I was angry at the dinner so I left to see you” She smiled.

“We missed you momma, when is Kashia coming back?” Shippo asked.

“Soon, very soon” Kagome promised.

“Go back to the dinner” Rin said.

“Why?” Shippo asked.

“Just because Lady Ayame has been mean to you a lot doesn't mean you be mean back to her” Rin explained.

“That's right, I should forgive her” Kagome realized her mistake.

`I shouldn't have snapped at her, it was a mistake and I didn't mean to'

`Go and apologize, blame it on being ill and get outside, you've seen your pups and your mates'

`Fine'

Kagome went back to the dining room.

“Sorry for the way I left, and Lady Ayame I am sorry for snapping at you. I've been very ill and I had no right to take it out on you” Kagome apologized.

`Why did she apologize? She was not in the wrong! She is trying to be the bigger person'

“It is my fault as well, I should not have been so rude to you in the beginning” Ayame apologized.

`Do not think that this mean I am over what you've done, you will suffer!'

“That was a lovely dinner, Lady Kagome” Kouga said.

“This Dinner is very much over, I will be in my study” Sess got up and left. Lord Trevor & Lord Troy left to their separate rooms.

Kouga & Ayame followed Sess.

“Ayame, explain yourself” Sess demanded.

“I do not have an explanation; I am very much sorry for everything that I've had to done to Lady Kagome and any embarrassment or shame I may have caused milords” She bowed extremely low to show for it.

“Do you have anything to add Kouga?” Sess questioned.

“She will be sent back to the Eastern Lands the day after tomorrow” He promised.

“I expect her to be on her best behavior until then” He said.

“Yes Lord Sesshomaru” Ayame whispered.

“Get out of here” He said, thoroughly upset.

`How dare she do that to my mate? She is lucky to be spared so quickly'

`Miko, you are trying my patience, make this goodbye quick'

`Hold your horses, this is my time to say goodbye'

“Inuyasha, come with me” Kagome motioned. He followed her to Sesshomaru's study. She barged right in without knocking.

“Lucky that you are my mate” He said.

“I want permission for Kagura to escort me to the gardens for a few minutes” She asked.

“No” Sesshomaru said firmly.

“Do not argue with me, I still have miko powers” She said.

“If I let you go, then you promise to take a sword with you” He asked.

“Of course, I will” Kagome promised.

Sesshomaru handed her a sword used purely for protection, works well with her miko powers.

“Thanks, I love you guys soo much” She smiled, kissing each one on the lips.

`My last kiss on them, I'll miss them so much'

`You won't be alone, I will be with you'

`You aren't a mate of mine, I do not want to be with you'

Kagome slipped outside the castle, and then outside the gate walls, at the gate walls she left the sword by the wall side.

`I am here for you right now, and I am alone, I did as you wish so you better keep your end of the deal'

`Yes, do not worry! Kagura will come to get you shortly' She continued walking through the forest and waited at a huge tree

“Lady Kagome, come with me” Kagura whispered. Kagome fell asleep in one of the trees.

“How are we going to get there?” She asked.

“My feather, I can make it windy enough to fly” She explained.

She pulled out her fan from the pocket and snapped it open. She fanned it to the left to make a little wind. She pulled the feather out of her hair and threw it up in the air.

“Let's go miko” Kagura yelled. She was safe in the feather.

“To Naraku's lair” She whispered.

Ok so I'm sure people are just sick of Ayame and of course I let her get off very easily, she will continue to be in the castle for a minute ok. As for Kagome, though it seems like she willingly went to Naraku's lair, she went to protect her family, she also went because the book explained she'd have to go to keep things the way they should be, the next chapter is a huge twist, I am so sorry that things didn't go as planned, she was suppose to be kidnapped last chapter but I changed things up a bit. It's alright though.
