Kagome where are you
chapter 50 . . .
Readers might wish to read my story "The Hammock." It will be
referred to, in passing, in the chapter.
_______________________________________
Sesshomaru asks, "Does that apply to you as well? Would you try
to get along with Naraku or Kikyo?"
"Naraku and Kikyo." Kagome sighs.
He nods.
"Once, I did offer to make peace with Kikyo." Kagome muses. (See
my story ‘the Hammock.')
"She refused." Kagome sighs.
"I didn't know that." Sesshomaru replies, his eyes full of
respect for her. ‘She practices what she's says. I've met many
priests that don't.' He thinks.
"Not even Inu-yasha knows." Kagome replies in a soft voice. Her
mouth twitches into a smile.
Sesshomaru grunts in surprise.
"Naraku, though, hmmm. Yes, if given the chance to talk to him
and solve everything without killing, I would do that."
She sighs. "He's never really hurt me. Oh, yes, he's mind
controlled me, he's puppets have hit me and such. But, compared
to Sango, Miroku or Inu-yasha, he hasn't hurt me." Kagome shakes
her head.
"So, while I might.' Her mouth twitches, "If it was just me, I'd
be willing to let him go if he hands over his shards, but the
others never would. I'd never betray them with him."
Sesshomaru nods in understanding. "So with my mother?"
Kagome shrugs, "She's never hurt me, directly. But, I'd never
betray you to her. And I'll help you destroy her and her allies.
She sounds like a throughly vile person."
He nods.
Kagome's mouth twitches, "Actually now that I'm thinking about
it, the villages that Naraku controls aren't as oppressed as some
I've seen. Compared to some other villages, like, say, those
villages on the vampire world, he rules them gently."
Sesshomaru nods. "Yes. He's smart enough to know that if there
are village revolts in the land he controls then that will
distract him, destroy things and kill people he might need, so he
doesn't levy extra taxes on his peasants and he rules them
firmly, but fairly."
Kagome nods.
Sesshomaru muses says, "We'll just have to see, Kagome. I
understand your position, and, when the time comes. I'll make my
decision between you and my responsibilities as Lord of the
western lands."
"Thank you, Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western lands. That is all I
can ask for."
A pause as they rest leaning against each other. His head against
her breasts, her arm draped over his shoulders.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks in a soft voice.
"Yes, love?"
"I'm trying to understand how you and your mother could hate each
other so much." Kagome says in a low voice. "And, while I can see
that she wants to be in control, and that your father and then
you were in her way, but, still." She sighs, "I just don't
understand people like her or Naraku."
Sesshomaru shrugs. "She wants to be in charge and anybody that
gets in her way, she will destroy or attack. Why she wants to be
in charge? I don't know."
"I keep thinking that some of it came from when you were young?
Still breast feeding or do you remember that far back?" Kagome
muses in a soft voice.
"Ah, Kagome. You are used to human breast feeding, not dog
demon." He states.
"What's the difference?"
"Human females will breast feed their children for two years, at
least, most will do it for four years or more, right?" Sesshomaru
asks.
Kagome nods. ‘Yes, in the past.' She thinks. (See, my story
"motherhood" for an explanation as to why Kagome asked this
question in this way)
"A female bitch will stop breast feeding as soon as possible. Dog
demons' are brought up to be independent, not hanging to their
mother's side for years on end, like humans." He pauses. "That, I
think, more than anything is what convinced me that Inu-yasha
wasn't worthy to be my brother."
"Sesshomaru?"
"He was always with his mother. Until her death, I don't think he
was ever out of her eyesight." Sesshomaru explains.
"You and your mother?" Kagome asks in a quiet voice.
"She, kicked me, painfully, out of her room and into a wet-nurses
room a couple months after I was born." Sesshomaru says in a low
voice.
Kagome hugs him tightly, her chin resting on the top of his head.
‘Weird.' Kagome thinks, ‘somehow, I just got a flash of
Sesshomaru, as a small white dog, getting kicked . . . '
"After that, I was raised by servants. My father and mother only
occasionally paying attention to me, at least, until I was old
enough that I could begin my training."
‘No wonder he's so cold.' Kagome thinks in wonder. ‘I knew that
I'm the fist person to actually care for him, but hearing this.'
"Did your wet-nurse or the others care about you?" she whispers.
"No. They didn't want my father or my mother to punish them for
spoiling me, so they . . . "
"They were harder on you than they had to be, so they wouldn't
get punished." Kagome finishes.
Sesshomaru nods.
A pause as Kagome hugs him . . .
"Sesshomaru, you know that . . . " Kagome pauses, trying to
decide to continue. She, then, says, "when we have children, I'm
not going to do that. I will want them to be raised in a more
human way."
Sesshomaru pauses. He slowly nods. "I have seen you with children
and believe that you will be a superb mother, so I will not
interfere."
Kagome giggles, "that's not good enough, my dear Sesshomaru. To
be raise children properly, you're going to have a better father
than your father was."
Sesshomaru slowly nods. "Or I was too my children and too inu-
yasha."
She nods. "Yes." She whispers.
"When the time comes, I will be a better father, than mine was,
I, Sesshomaru, the consort and love of Kagome, swears." He
states.
"Thank you, Sesshomaru." Kagome kisses the top of his head.
She pauses. "Since we're talking about children. What about that
girl, Rin?"
"Rin?"
"Yes, what were you planning to do with her?"
Sesshomaru pauses. "At first, I was going to locate a human
village and leave her there, like I did with inu-yasha."
Kagome nods. "What changed that plan?"
Sesshomaru, in low voice, "the night I was going to leave her, as
I was carrying her into the village, she spoke in her sleep,
calling me ‘papa'."
Kagome's free hand brushes his hair, softly, as she says, "And
you couldn't do it?"
His tail softly curls around them.
Sesshomaru whispers, "I couldn't do it." He sighs, "now, I don't
really know. I've thought about formally adopting her. And," He
hugs Kagome around her waist. "Now, with you. I'll probably do
that, now."
Kagome smiles, "And what will that do for her?"
‘So . . . I'm going to have to a mother to her.' She thinks, ‘I
have to be, there is no way that I could say ‘no' and look at
myself in the mirror in the morning.'
"She'll stay with me, until I can find a good husband for her. I
know of a couple of Kitsune demon lords that like human women.
I'll start to investigate them and see if they are worthy."
She nods.
"I suppose," he sighs, "I'll have to look at some human warlords
and daimyo's as well and see if they're worthy."
Kagome whispers, "What if, once she grows up, she falls in love
with a boy?"
Sesshomaru pauses, "that would depend on the boy's family. If
they are worthy enough, and I suppose, in diffidence to her
happiness, I'll relax my standards some, then I will allow her to
marry."
"And if the boy is just a peasant?"
"Then, once she marries a good husband, one worthy of her, she
can move her peasant lover near her and carry on an affair with
him."
Kagome grimaces, ‘yes. I should have thought about that.
Marriages during his time were not love matches. They were
closer to business partnerships. The man provides the food and
money. The woman provides an heir and managing the household.'
"A good husband? What would you be looking for?"
"Social position, military strength, wealth."
"Not how nicely he'd treat her?"
"That's not, normally, as important as the other standards, but
given the history between my mother and my father, I'll will pay
attention to that and it will affect my decision. To what degree?
I don't know? To many variables." Sesshomaru shrugs.
Kagome nods. ‘That's about the best answer he'll give me.
Sometimes a child's happiness will be sacrificed in the interests
of the family. But . . . given his standards?' she thinks.
"What if no one meets your standards?" she asks. In a light
voice, she continues, "Knowing you, your standards will be high."
He nods. "Of course. In that case, I'll marry her, that way
she'll have my social position, wealth and reputation to support
her."
Kagome nods. ‘Yes. I've read about marriages between adopted
family members.'
"And if she still finds a lover?" Kagome whispers.
Sesshomaru shrugs. "If he makes her happy, as long as he
acknowledges that I am her official husband, I will not
interfere. And, at least while any of their children are young, I
will acknowledge any children as mine and support them, as if
they were mine." He pauses. "Once they grow up . . . we'll see."
‘If they don't meet his standards, he'll probably disinherit
them, or best place them in a village, with enough land to live
on, perhaps.' Kagome thinks. ‘Do I ask about him having children
with Rin? No. He said that if he marries her, it would be as a
last resort, so, I'll assume he won't have children by her.'
A pause . . .
Sesshomaru asks, "What about your child, Shippo?"
Kagome slumps. The hand on top of his head twitches.
A pause . . .
"Kagome?" he asks in a concerned voice.
"Too many unknowns, Sesshomaru . . . Will the well still work?
Can I ever find a way to get Shippo through it?" Kagome begins.
"In my dream world, I find a way for him to come through the well
and live in my time."
"What would happen then?"
"Well . . . since I'm still considered too young to have a
child, I'm sure that my mother will adopt Shippo. She'll probably
tell our neighbors that he's a cousin of mine and we're raising
him to help his parents." She shrugs. "My mother would come up
with something. And she and I would raise him."
Sesshomaru nods. "Any woman that raised you into the wonderful
woman, that you are, can raise a kitsune properly."
Kagome kisses the top of his head. "I'll tell my mother about
that compliment."
"Good. I meant you to. I don't compliment people, especially
humans, lightly."
Kagome kisses him again. "Meanie." She smiles.
"And if the well doesn't allow you to bring Shippo through?"
Kagome takes a deep breath and sighs. "I can't abandon him. One
of my worst nightmares is when I'm given a choice, a normal life
in the future at the cost of abandoning Shippo or staying with
Shippo and never returning to the future."
"And being separated from your family." Sesshomaru remarks in a
soft voice.
"Yes." She hisses. "I've got my memories of my family to support
me, so . . . "
"You'll choose Shippo."
Kagome nods. "Yes." She whispers. "If push comes to shove, I
can't leave him." A couple of tears form in her eyes. She wipes
them away.
"So, no matter what, you'll raise him."
A pause . . .
"Kagome?" Sesshomaru whispers . . .
A pause . . .
"Yes." She whispers.
Kagome slumps. "When we return, I've got to tell him that."
"You haven't?" He asks in surprise.
"No." She pauses, grimacing. "I've thought about it, many times,
but never made up my mind. However, talking about it, now, with
you . . . has forced me to consider everything and make up my
mind."
She nods. "When we return, I'll talk with Shippo, my mother, and
Keade to see what I need to do to officially adopt him."
"My brother?"
Kagome pauses. "I'll tell him, and Sango and Miroku as well, but,
this between Shippo and myself. Inu-yasha will just have to
accept it." A pause. "Like you will."
Sesshomaru nods. "Are you telling me to adopt him and make him my
heir?" he asks in a toneless voice.
‘Many secondary wives try to force their husbands to name their
child as the primary heir, like Inu-yasha's mother tried to do.'
He thinks.
Kagome blushes, "of course not, Sesshomaru. But, he is my son and
I will be spending some time with him, not with you." A pause.
"Or with Inu-yasha."
He sighs. "I understand."
"And," Kagome stresses, "you and Inu-yasha are going to have to
treat him properly."
Sesshomaru sighs, "very well. He is your son, and we are
together, so, I'll treat him as my son."
"Thank you." Kagome kisses the top his head.
A small pause . . .
"Love?" she whispers. ‘Being able to say that . . . in reality,
not a dream, is wonderful.' She thinks.
"Yes." He whispers back. He suppresses a shiver, thinking, ‘I've
been called that many times, but never by someone that really
cares . . . '
"I just had a thought." Kagome slowly speaks in a low voice.
"Should, no, when, we have a child, it will be a half-demon."
Sesshomaru slowly nods.
"What will happen? Will he be prosecuted like Inu-yasha? Since
you don't have an heir, would he become your heir?"
Sesshomaru takes a deep breath and lets it go, as he says. "Hmmm
. . . those questions are not easy to answer. You are a far
better person and mother than his was, so, I'm sure that you're
not going to create the enemies that she did."
Kagome slowly nods. "I've never any problems making friends."
"That will help." He sighs. "Still, I'd expect problems,
especially if I, as you wish, allow some of my mother's servants
to live. They, from their experience with Inu-yasha's mother,
will hate humans and half-demons."
"Yes." She hisses. "I see."
"My heir, though . . . " Sesshomaru begins. "My first thought is
to say no."
"Why?" Kagome whispers.
"I'm going to have to unite the family, and most of the family
hates half-demons and humans."
"Feelings left over from Inu-yasha and his mother." She adds in.
He nods. "So, naming another half-demon as my heir will cause
problems."
She shivers.
"And . . . if, as you wish, I save the lives of one or both of
my wives, they will have some say in this as well. As such, if I
have a full demon heir from one of them, that would be a unifying
statement for the family."
Kagome takes a deep breath and nods.
"Hmmm. Now that I think about it . . . it would best if I make
some sort of announcement that your children will not be my heir.
That would separate you from Inu-yasha's mother."
a pause . . .
Kagome slowly nods. "I see . . . "
Sesshomaru slowly says, "And, if, after your child grows up, and
if he's a better person to lead the family then my other heir, I
can switch heirs to your child."
Kagome kisses the top of Sesshomaru's head. "Thank you,
Sesshomaru, lord of the western lands."
"Thank me? Why?" he asks in surprise.
"You told me the truth."
"You're not upset?"
Kagome shakes her head, no. "Not really. Now that I think about
it, If I show up and you announce that I'm your primary wife and
my child will be your heir, that would cause problems."
He nods. "Yes. I had been thinking about announcing you as my
concubine, only, and then, after a few years, and after my family
gets to know you, then, I would officially marry you." A pause.
"There are other reasons why, I hesitate to name you my primary
wife, as well."
"What are those?" she asks.
"My primary wife runs the household. She handles all the day to
day details about controlling the well more than a hundred
servants, workers and so forth. You've never had that training,
where as, I know that my other two wives have that type of
training."
Kagome nods as she thinks, ‘yes. From my reading of history, the
wife runs the household. And for a major lord, like Sesshomaru,
that household would have hundreds of people working for him.
With my home ec. courses, and helping my mom, I can run a normal
modern household. I'm pretty sure . . . but something huge like
that? I can see why he'd think twice about that.'
"And there are other demon lords out there, my love, and showing
up with you and announcing you as my wife, will cause problems
with them." He sighs. "Probably even a war. Simply announcing you
as my concubine should prevent that. I don't think that you would
want to start a war simply because you married me."
Kagome shudders. "Yes. I don't want to start a war."
A pause . . .
Kagome raises her eyebrow, as she questions, "I was thinking
that, once you took over your family that you wouldn't be this .
. . concerned about their feelings. That you'd just lay down the
law and force them to follow you."
Sesshomaru raises his eyebrow, as he replies, "My dear, you're
assuming my feelings for humans, applies to dog demons as well.
If they were human, I would make the decision, and anyone that
complained, I would kill. But, we are talking about my race and
extended family, not humans and so, different standards apply."
Kagome nods.
"And, as Lord of the Western Lands, I have to think about the
family, our territories, and the future, differently than I do
about just us."
"And your responsibilities as lord of the western lands, means
that your decisions might not take our feelings into it." Kagome
muses.
He nods.
Kagome nods as she thinks, ‘I've got to remember that marriages
in his time were not love matches. But, especially for powerful
families, marriages were more like modern treaties between
countries. The marriage sealed the argument. Love . . . was
found elsewhere.'
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks, "You haven't mentioned how Inu-yasha
would fit in this."
Sesshomaru pauses. "A lot of that depends on him and you, my
dear." He begins to say. He sighs, "you and he might decide to
marry and leave, or he might decide to leave and never return."
Kagome nods, as she slowly says, "what would you like to see
happen?"
Sesshomaru pauses, as he thinks, ‘my first thought, is to have
Inu-yasha vanish leaving you with me . . . '
Kagome quickly adds in, "Assuming he stays with us."
"And you don't leave me to be with him, totally." Sesshomaru adds
in.
She slowly nods. "Yes."
Sesshomaru purses his lips, "hmmm . . . Before, I was
considering the three of us. Now, though, as I think about the
family and how they'll react . . . "
He nods. "It might be useful if you are officially married to
him."
Kagome draws in a deep breath.
"By doing that, he would take himself out the line of succession.
If he was trying to become the next Lord of the Western Lands,
he'd marry a full demon, not a human."
"I see. And that'll make things easier for you."
He nods. "Yes. And, it will also make things a bit easier with
us, as well."
"Huh?"
"Since you are officially his wife, I'm not officially linked to
you, like I would be if you were my wife or even my concubine."
"And the human-hating part of your family and those other demon
lords?"
"Will not be offended, like they will be, should I announce you
as my wife or even as my concubine."
Kagome blushes, as she asks, "but, what about . . . this
afternoon . . . "
"Oh, mating? If you are Inu-yasha's wife that also makes that
part of our relationship easier."
"Huh?" Kagome blurts out, "How?"
Sesshomaru pauses, twisting his head to look at her face, "I
forgot, my love." His mouth twitches into a smile, "you consider
marriage to be only between people that love each other and not
for any other reason."
She nods.
"I know of a couple of families in which the wife of the head of
the family is having a love affair with the brother of her
husband." Sesshomaru says in a very matter of fact tone, "It
helps to keep everything in the family. There is less chance of
scandal."
"You mean," Kagome slowly says, "the husband would, knowingly,
let his wife cheat on him?"
"As long as they are discreet, of course. Since marriages are not
love affairs, both partners, the husband and wife, normally seek
physical love and companionship, like I am feeling from our
conversations." She nods in understanding. He continues, "from
other people. The husband can find a concubine, easily enough . .
. " he pauses, "The wife will find lovers, as well."
"And the husband doesn't raise any objections?"
"Like divorce? Unthinkable, such would embarrass the husband's
and the wife's families. And if the husband is obviously fighting
his wife that embarrasses the family, as well. And that would
seriously affect his reputation in the community. If a man is
fighting with his wife, he is a very weak person and his
reputation will collapse."
"I see, I think." Kagome whispers. "What about the marking
spell?"
He pauses, "most marking spells are simply loyalty spells.
Fidelity can be added, but most couples don't add it in. There
are two major reasons why not, Kagome. First, in many cases, the
couple has only meet for the first time, just hours, or perhaps
days before the marking ceremony."
"And being tied to one person that you've never meet is one
thing, having to make love to him, and only him for the rest of
your life . . . " Kagome whispers.
He nods. "And the second reason, if that's added in, that means
that the husband will not be able to have any concubines."
Kagome pinches his shoulder, "men." She growls.
Sesshomaru chuckles, "that applies to women, as well, Kagome. And
if his wife is happy, his home life is happier. The household is
run better."
Kagome nods. "So . . . if I was married to Inu-yasha . . . "
"Having an affair with me would be very understandable and
basically unremarkable." Sesshomaru smiles. "IF I mate with you,
especially in an off the record affair, the family can't object,
since the affair doesn't officially exist."
"And if they do object?"
"Then they are disrupting the peace in the family, and I can
punish them for that."
Kagome, in a soft voice, asks, "Then you have no objection to
inu-yasha marrying me?"
Sesshomaru sighs, "as long as he realizes that you and I love
each other and will spend time together . . . I suppose not."
Kagome's fingers play with his hair as she remarks, "So . . .
After you've overthrown your mother and take your place as lord
of the western lands . . . you'd want Inu-yasha and myself, as
Inu-yasha's wife, to live with you in your household."
"Yes."
"And somehow, you and Inu-yasha will come to some agreement about
sharing me?"
Sesshomaru sighs, "I have a feeling that you're going to have to
be the one that comes up with that, my love. And force us to
accept it."
Kagome grimaces as she nods. "Neither of you are good at
sharing."
He nods.
Kagome nods, grimacing. "And why would Inu-yasha want to stay in
your household?" she asks.
"He is my brother and since he possesses the Tetsusaiga, he'll
become my right-hand man. Especially after all the warfare that
has happened to the family, I need all the trustworthy persons I
can find."
"What about the Tetsusaiga? I would have thought that you'd want
it, at least to give to your heir, since it and Tenseiga are the
symbols of the family?"
"Sooner or later, it'll come to me, Kagome." Sesshomaru says, "A
half-demons life span is only about five hundred years. And, his
heir, a quarter demon, will only have, perhaps, twice the life
span of a human. After that any of Inu-yasha's grandchildren will
be basically the same as humans. Once that happens, the sword
will come to me on it's own. So it's only a matter of time."
Kagome pauses . . . "So, after a couple of generations, the
demon blood fades away? And all the children are normal humans?"
"Yes. Oh, your children, by him, will look similar to him, with
the ears, eyes, fangs, and such. They'll also be stronger, faster
than humans, twice as much, but they will be weaker than him.
Their children, your grandchildren, might have some of his
features, white hair perhaps, but all the demon magic will be
gone and they will be normal humans."
Kagome slowly nods as she thinks, ‘the magic in the demon blood
must fade rapidly and then human genetics takes over. That must
be one of the reasons that you don't see many half-demons, the
bloodline quickly becomes human.'
"What if he was to have a child with a full demon mother?" She
asks.
"The human part of his blood corrupts the demon blood. His son,
and his grandson, will also have to mate with full-blooded demons
before the taint fades away. Until then, their children will
maintain the appearance and powers similar to Inu-yasha's."
Kagome nods in understanding. "So . . . your plans, if I'm
correct, are that after everything settles down . . . you'll
want me to be Inu-yasha's wife."
Sesshomaru hisses, "yes."
"But, in the privacy of our rooms, you and inu-yasha will,
probably, trade off nights sleeping in my bed."
He nods. "This is basically correct, my dear. No doubt, they'll
be some changes in that routine reflecting day to day concerns,
but as a basic plan, I think that will work."
She sighs, "you know all this talk means nothing. The chances are
that Inu-yasha will never calm down enough to listen."
Sesshomaru pauses . . . "perhaps, my dear, but, if so, that is
his fault, not mine."
Kagome grimaces and nods. "No use talking about it, anymore,
then, at least until we return home."
"Then, my lover," Sesshomaru whispers in a quiet voice, "Shall we
retire?" He asks as he waves his hand at the sleeping bag and the
leaves piled under it.
Kagome glances at the bag, and glances down at Sesshomaru. "Yes.
Let's." She kisses the top of his head as she removes her arm
from around his shoulders.
They stand up and undress.
Kagome has to retie the cloth around her waist that somehow, even
while she was sitting down, became untied. ‘Damn that spell. I've
got to have this on.' She thinks.
"Sesshomaru?"
"Yes?"
"Wait here a few minutes." Kagome says as she walks, still nude
except for the cloth tied around her waist, to the entrance of
the cave, "I'm going to mediate and see if I can do something
about that spell the Uzume put on me. I've got be able to wear
something."
He nods.
Kagome goes outside. She sits down in Indian fashion, like Inu-
yasha. She has to grab the cloth as she does so, as it tries to
slip off her again . . .
She closes her eyes and summons her power.
She glows . . .
Sesshomaru, also nude, walks to the cave opening, ‘her power
never ceases to amaze me. So much power in a human. That alone
should have told me, long ago, that some god or gods are
interested in her.' He thinks.
The glow around Kagome fades . . .
She opens her eyes, looks at Sesshomaru and smiles.
"Did it work?" he asks.
"Somewhat, my dear." Kagome says as she stands up. "I'll show
you."
She quickly walks into the cave, with Sesshomaru following her,
and puts on her robe.
The robe changes shape and color, turning into a sexy one-piece
lingerie. "I couldn't break the spell totally. I'm just not that
skilled with my power. But, I could alter the spell."
He nods, as his eyes drink her shape, highlighted by the semi-
transparent blue teddy, that her robe turned into.
"Since clothing, like this." She fingers the thin cloth. "Can
help get us in the mood for mating . . . "
"And since Uzume likes people to mate." Sesshomaru interrupts.
She nods. "I changed the spell, so I can wear, sexy outfits like
this." She smiles, "Of course, if I don't mate, on a regular
basis, then the spell starts up again."
He nods. "As long as what you are wearing is helping you to have
sex, you can wear it. But if you don't have sex, then you can't
wear underwear."
She nods. "Yes."
He raises an eyebrow and his maleness twitches. "And?" he
whispers lustily.
Kagome grimaces, "I am still feeling it from this afternoon,
Sesshomaru." She places her hand on her lower stomach.
He nods. "I thought so. You didn't smell like you wanted to mate,
but, I thought I'd ask."
Kagome looks at his maleness, "Do you want to? We can't mate, but
there are other things we can do?"
"I can wait." Sesshomaru says, "I am not going to force you to do
something you don't want to do."
Kagome nods. She goes to him, hugs him and kisses him on the
check, "thank you."
He hugs her back. "So, we're just going to sleep?"
Kagome nods.
Sesshomaru extinguishes most of the lamps and candles around the
cave. He even closes the door that the castaways left.
Sesshomaru lays down on the sleeping bag. Kagome pauses, she
removes the cloth that Mary Ann gave her and adjusts her clothing
into a simple pair of white panties.
"I thought you said that the clothes are to be sexy?"
"Some people think white panties are sexy." Kagome replies as she
lays down on the bag, next to Sesshomaru.
They shift around on the sleeping bag getting comfortable,
finally ending up in spoon fashion, Sesshomaru's chest against
her back. His arms and tail draped over her. His face nuzzled
against the back of her head. Their legs twist together.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks after a few minutes.
"Yes, lover?"
"Remember when I was concerned by living forever and you said
that you knew of some techniques?"
"Of course. What do you need to know?"
"Have you ever heard of longevity techniques from a book called
‘I-Shin-Po?'" (Authors' notes see my story "i-shin-po" for more
details)
"Hmmm." He mumbles. "Human techniques, I assume?" she nods. "Not
really."
"In it, it claimed that mating would increase a person's life
span . . . " Her voice trails off.
"Ah. Yes. Now I remember. Humans stole that knowledge from some
kitsune demons, I believe." He replies.
‘Chinese medical texts, is what I've read.' Kagome thinks, ‘not
demon knowledge, but that's what he was taught, so that's what he
thinks is correct.'
Sesshomaru brushes Kagome's hair away from her ear, and licks it.
"I am aware of the true demon version of that text." He purrs.
"My father made sure about that. I've never used it because in
order to use it properly, your partner needs to someone you
love."
Kagome wiggles and purrs. "Thank you."
"Hmmm . . . Once your taboo time is over in a few days, I think
I'll start to teach you those techniques, my love." Sesshomaru
purrs into her ear. "It will allow you to live longer." He kisses
her ear again.
"And it's a much more enjoyable method than anything else I can
think of." Kagome wiggles into him again. "The only problem with
the technique, compared to other ways to increase a human's life
span, is that you have to do it, over and over again on a daily
basis for the technique to work." He shoves his hips into her.
"Sesshomaru." Kagome flips over, so she can stare into his eyes.
"I do have a request."
"Of course, Kagome. What is it?"
"I promised Inu-yasha that he'd be the one to teach me those
techniques."
Sesshomaru sighs. He kisses Kagome. "I will hold off."
"You're sure?" Kagome asks in surprise.
"Kagome. You told me that you wanted to save your first kiss for
Inu-yasha. In the heart of the moment, I took advantage of your
passion." He explains as he stares deep in her eyes. "So, I will
honor this request." He kisses her again. "I promise."
She hugs him, "thank you."
"And, Kagome, I will do something, I don't know what, yet, but, I
will make up for causing you to break that first kiss promise, as
well."
"Sesshomaru." Kagome hugs him tight. "I love you."
"I love you. Kagome." He hugs her.
Kagome releases him. She kisses him. "Thank you. I'm going to try
to go to sleep now."
"Sleep Kagome. Tomorrow, we start your weapons training again.
And since your skill with your miko powers could be better, I'll
see what I can do about that as well."
"Meanie." She hisses at him. She smiles, kisses him, and rolls
over. "Good night, love." She whispers.
Sesshomaru drapes his arm around her, as he wiggles closer to
her, "Good night, love." He whispers.
**************************
Sesshomaru's eyes open. It's sunny outside. ‘The peacefulness I
feel around her . . . I should have woken up at dawn.'
He frowns. ‘What is that noise?' he thinks.
He carefully untangles himself from Kagome, ‘I don't want to wake
her, just yet.' He thinks.
He stands up, still frowning. ‘The door?'
He walks to the door, still nude from sleeping, and opens it.
Gilligan is standing in front of the door, a tray with a bowl of
breakfast gruel in his hand. He is leaning forward about to open
the door.
He trips . . .
The bowl of gruel flies in the air . . .
Sesshomaru wipes the gruel off his face, ignoring Gilligan's
hurried apologies and Kagome's exclamations as the noise of the
accident wakes her . . .
‘Hunting down and slowly torturing to death the god that cursed
this idiot with bad luck . . . That is very, very tempting.'

The end chapter 50 . . .
Authors' note: I case someone is wondering, Sesshomaru's attitude
toward marriage and fidelity during marriage, is pretty much
straight from Japanese history. The attitude is fairly standard
for a nobleman/daiymo/warlord.

chapter 50 . .
Sesshomaru fumes . . .
The end chapter 50 . . .
Authors' note: I case someone is wondering, Sesshomaru's attitude
toward marriage and fidelity during marriage, is pretty much
straight from Japanese history. The attitude is fairly standard
for a nobleman/daiymo/warlord.
