Kagome Where are you

Chapter 51 Gilligan's island part 3.

A less serious chapter than #50 . . .

Hopefully, you the reader, will get a chuckle or a giggle or two
. . .

______________________________________________

He walks to the door, still nude from sleeping, and opens it.

Gilligan is standing in front of the door, a tray with a bowl of
breakfast gruel in his hand. He is leaning forward about to open
the door.

He trips . . .

The bowl of gruel flies in the air . . .

Sesshomaru wipes the gruel off his face, ignoring Gilligan's
hurried apologies and Kagome's exclamations as the noise of the
accident wakes her . . .

‘Hunting down and slowly torturing to death the god that cursed
this idiot with bad luck . . . That is very, very tempting.'
Sesshomaru fumes . . .

"Sesshomaru!" Kagome screams as she scrambles out of the sleeping
bag. She quickly runs to the door, dressed in only a pair of
panties.

Sesshomaru, without thinking, shoves Gilligan away from him, only
to have Gilligan bounce off the wall of the cave. Gilligan
crashes into Sesshomaru, causing both of them to fall down.

Sesshomaru's hand finds Gilligan's neck. He begins to squeeze.

Kagome's hand wraps around Sesshomaru's.

Sesshomaru and Kagome's eyes lock . . .

Sesshomaru releases Gilligan. "Leave now, human, or die." He
growls, deep in his chest.

"Yes, sir!" Gilligan cries as he scrambles, bumping into Kagome,
as he crawls away.

"Did he grope you?" Sesshomaru growls, as he watches Gilligan
vanish into the forest.

‘He brushed against me. But, it wasn't a grope like Miroku.'
Kagome thinks.

"No, Lord of the Western Lands, he did not."
Her clothes change into a flowing robe and she uses the extra
long sleeves to being to clean his face.

Sesshomaru, allows her to clean him, as he sighs. "The worst part
of this, Kagome, is that I can't even kill the bastard. IF I do,
all the bad luck in him will work at once."

Kagome interrupts, saying, "And who knows what will happen?"

He nods.

"Well, I think I got everything." Kagome says as she steps back
from him, lowering her sleeve.

"Thank you, my dear." He nods to her.

He sighs, "It's not the way that I wanted to wake you up, but we
do have a busy day ahead of us."

She nods. Her eyebrow raises, "And how did you want to wake me
up?"

Sesshomaru, instantly, is standing, hugging Kagome and kissing
her, as he bends her over.

Kagome, even surprised, instantly wraps her arms around him and
begins to kiss back.

Their mouths open and their tongues slide around each other.

Kagome gasps for air, as she breaks the kiss.

Both of them are breathing heavily as they straighten.

"Sesshomaru?"

"Yes, Kagome?"

Kagome kisses him on the nose. "That is wonderful way to start
the day."

He smiles, "It is, isn't it."

She smiles. She sighs, "but my breath must be horrible. And your
puppy dog breath, while I like it . . . "

His mouth twitches, "I didn't mind. But, of course, if you wish
to see if the humans can give you a brush, feel free to do so."

Kagome looks around. ‘I Might as well get started, as he said,
we've got a lot to do today.'

"I'm going to use the bushes, then, could you fly me to the
castaways. I'll go ahead and eat breakfast with them."

"And warn them not to travel on this part of the island." He
interrupts.

She sighs, but nods. "And I'll see about setting up a time for
you, me, the skipper and the professor to talk about those guns
we acquired."

He nods. "Yes. I am interested in them." He pauses, then
continues, "After you eat, we'll spend the rest of the morning
doing weapons training and miko training. Then in the afternoon,
we'll meet with those humans, and you can study until nightfall."

Kagome grimaces. ‘Busy day, indeed. Like his brother, once
Sesshomaru decides he's going to do something, he does it.' She
thinks.

Sesshomaru smiles, his hand reaches out to cup Kagome's chin, so
he can look into her eyes. "And then, tonight, if you feel up to
it, we'll see what we can do to occupy ourselves."

Kagome shivers, but nods. She smiles, invitingly . . .

A pause as they look into each others eye's . . .

Kagome sighs, "I really need to use the bushes."

He nods and releases her.

As she is walking into the bushes, she asks, "What will you eat,
Sesshomaru?"

A pause. She stops walking and turns around, "Sesshomaru?"

"I'm not sure, Kagome."

"Huh?"

"The humans have been on this island for more than three years.
It is not a large island, and over the years they've seemed to
have eaten all the large animals on it. What few animals I've
found, all have the human's scents on them. They either are pets,
or being herded as food."

He purses his lips, "normally, I'd have no problems eating them,
but, since I don't think you'll like it if I eat all their food
supply, so I'm undecided about it."

Kagome slowly nods. ‘I see. Yes, the island's ecosystem, has to
have been affected by them.' She thinks.

"Fish?" she asks, remembering Gilligan saying something about
fishing, yesterday.

Sesshomaru blinks, in surprise, as he slowly says. "I suppose."

Kagome frowns as she thinks, ‘yesterday, he said that he's never
been in the sun, unclothed, before. So? And I'm pretty sure he
normally eats red meat, so?'

"Sesshomaru, do you know how to swim? And catch fish?"

He starts. "Of course this Sesshomaru can swim. And catching fish
can't be that difficult. Humans do it all the time." He replies
confidently.

Kagome suppresses a smile. "You know, my love. I've just had a
wonderful thought. Instead eating breakfast with them, why, don't
I stay and eat with you. I can cook some of the fish you catch
for my breakfast, and we can eat together."

She pauses and gives him a slight smile, "Even if I can't fix
anything for you, I'd still like us to eat together."

"Of course, my dear." He replies. "And after we eat."

She interrupts, "then, I go over and set up a time for us to talk
with them, and we'll still do everything we had planned."

He nods.

A few minutes later, on a beach covered with fine white sand . .
.

Kagome is covering her mouth, hiding a huge smile as she
suppresses the belly laugh that is trying to escape her . . .

Sesshomaru, wearing his normal robes is in the ocean, trying to
catch fish in chest high water, as the waves crash around him.

But . . . the water slows him down . . . The refraction of the
light in the water is causing him to miss his attacks . . .

Yes, some small fish, or more accurately, pieces of fish, the
parts left over from his attacks are flying onto the beach, but.

And all he is really doing is making a huge splash in the water.

He growls, looks at Kagome. ‘Damn that wind, I can't smell her,
so I don't know how she feels.' He thinks.

‘He can fly, so, if worst comes to worst, he can escape the water
that way.' Kagome thinks. ‘And I want to see how far he'll go.'
She smiles.

Kagome cups her hands around her mouth and yells, "Go deeper,
Sesshomaru! The larger fish are in deeper water!"

Sesshomaru growls. ‘If I don't catch something, I'm going to be
very embarrassed.'

He steps deeper into the water and begins to swim. After a couple
seconds he growls and his clothes change into a loincloth. ‘Good.
This is better.' He thinks, as he starts to swim.

‘Dog paddle.' Kagome smiles. ‘Of course. Now, how is he going to
catch fish while dog paddling?'

Sesshomaru growls as he splashes, trying to swim, in the water.
‘Damn it, how I'm going to catch anything?' he thinks.

‘Maybe if I become my true self? Fine. I'll do it.' He thinks.

He changes shape into his true form, A huge white dog demon.

Kagome gasps, seeing the change. ‘I'd almost forgotten about that
shape.' She sighs. ‘And with those huge paws, catching and
throwing fish will be a snap.'

Kagome sees Sesshomaru's head dip under the water. The waters
boil for a second, and then, the colossal dog demon walks out of
the water, in its jaws is a large flopping shark.

Kagome mouth drops open and she runs into the water, her school
clothes changing into her normal one-piece bathing swim.

Sesshomaru flips the shark onto the beach and changes his shape
back into his standard human appearance.

"Are you ok?" Kagome cries as she stands next to him.

Sesshomaru looks at his palms. Kagome can see small cuts closing
as they heal. "Hmm . . . when I stood on the sharp coral out
there, it cut me."

"And the shark attacked you." Kagome's eyes drop to his leg, she
can see a small bite in his left leg heals.

"Of course." Sesshomaru grins. "After that, catching it was
easy."

She hugs him. "I'm just glad that you're ok."

"A shark?" Sesshomaru grins. "My dear, I may not have spent a lot
time in the water, but it'll take more than a shark to get me."

Kagome grabs his hand and pulls him out of the water, "Well,
let's get a fire going and eat, then."

Sesshomaru allows her to drag him to the shark. He quickly kills
and butchers it, while Kagome, with some help from him, gets a
fire going.

"Sesshomaru." She pauses, "I don't do it as often as I'd like,
but do like to swim." She looks at him. "Since you are teaching
me, shall I teach you?"

Sesshomaru looks at the water, looks at her. He purses his lips,
"that was embarrassing out there, wasn't it?"

She nods.

"You were almost laughing at me, weren't you?"

She pauses, she blushes, ‘he's close enough to read my emotions,
so.' she thinks, "Yes." She whispers.

He nods. "Yes. I will not be embarrassed like that again."

"Thank you, Sesshomaru."

He nods.

"Do we give the rest of this to them?" Kagome asks when she looks
at the small amount of the shark that she is cooking.

He raises his eyebrows, "I'll eat all of this, my dear."

"But." Kagome begins.

He frowns. ‘Yes, she has not been around me much when I've ate.
So, she wouldn't know.' He thinks.

"Sesshomaru?" she asks, as he stands up and walks a short
distance away.

"Kagome." He pauses, "I'm not sure how exactly to say this, so."

‘What is he trying to say?' she thinks.

"I think you are forgetting something, Kagome." He continues. "I
am a dog demon." He points to his chest. "This form is just a
convenience, and it is not my true form."

Kagome looks at the remains of the large shark. "I see." She
hisses. "Yes." She narrows her eyes. "That huge body of yours
must need a lot of food."

He nods. "Most of the time, say, when I'm with Rin, I'll go off
and find a cow or an ox and eat."

Kagome nods. "What about during our trip? Are you really hungry?
Do you need more food?" she asks.

He sighs, "Once I released what was happening, I tried to gorge
myself, which has helped to tide me over on some worlds. And,
over the years, I've trained myself to live as little food as
possible. Keeping myself lean, helps my speed."

She waves at the shark, "So, this is fine."

He nods. "For now. Since we're going to be here for a while, I'll
try to eat a lot."

"In case the next world is like that no magic world."

HE shudders. "Yes, I was very hungry yesterday."

Her eyes narrow. "That's why there are no large animals left on
the island."

He shrugs. "There wasn't many left, anyway."

Kagome nods. ‘Can't do anything about it, now. So.' she thinks.

"Change and eat, then." She waves.

He raises an eyebrow. "Most humans fear my true form."

Kagome pauses, setting the shark steak off of the fire, so it
doesn't burn. "Sesshomaru."

She pauses, "If we are going to be together, then, we need to be
together. That means' you will see me in the mornings, before I
have a chance to freshen up. And that means that I need to see
you."

He nods.

Kagome smiles, "Plus, the only times, that I've seen that side of
you has been in battle, and I'd like to see you without the
stress of combat."

He raises an eyebrow.

She blushes, "that side of you has a raw power and natural
beauty, that I have liked, but, since I only see it in combat . .
. " Her voice trails off.

Sesshomaru nods. "You do need to know, Kagome, that in that from,
my voice is very rough and it is hard to talk."

She nods.

"Dog demons' use these human-like shapes." Sesshomaru points to
his chest. "As a means to communicate, the human voice forms a
wider range of sounds than our true form. And," he holds up his
hands, opening and closing them. "Human hands are very useful."

She nods. She frowns, thinking, "Sesshomaru? Does that mean you
were born in your true . . . " She starts to ask, then releases
that, of course, a true dog demon would be born in a dog shape,
what else?

Sesshomaru looks at her, like she's suddenly turned in an idiot.

She blushes, looking at the sand. "Sorry. I wasn't thinking."

"That was obvious." HE says in a dry voice. "And before you ask
another stupid question." Her blush deepens. "I was two years old
before I learned to change into this form."

Kagome slowly nods. He predicted her next question.

"Hmmm. I know of a couple of dog demons that have never learned
the human shape change spell. Too stupid to learn it. Most dog
demons are teenagers before they learn, the fact that I learned
it at such a young age, it is a mark of my intelligence and
power." He says in one of his pompous tones. He is proud of
himself.

Kagome nods, quickly, trying to avoid talking, as she is afraid
she'll ask another stupid question. ‘I wonder.' She thinks, ‘inu-
yasha was born in a human shape, I'm sure. Is that one of the
reasons that dog demons hates half-demons?' She looks at
Sesshomaru. ‘Nope. I'm not going to ask that question, at least
not now.'

Sesshomaru seeing that Kagome isn't asking any more questions,
changes form.

The huge white dog demon stands where Sesshomaru was.

"SSSSEEEEEEEEE." A very gravelly and hard to understand voice
sounds from him.

Kagome shivers, that voice instinctively raises the hackles on
her neck. That voice is prefect for a horror movie villain.

She nods. "Thank you, Sesshomaru."

She begins to eat her shark. She watches Sesshomaru as he eats
the shark.

The huge fangs piercing the tough skin of the shark, ripping it
into pieces. She sees Sesshomaru's tongue, licking the sides of
his mouth, cleaning the fangs. The sound of the shark beginning
ate and swallowed.

As Kagome eats, and watches, she thinks, ‘This is part of him.
And now that I think about, this is his true shape, if I show any
fear or disgust toward it, he'll, no matter what he says, he'll
think less of me.'

She nods. ‘And . . . I've been through too much with him, for
that to happen.' Her eye's looks up and down his long sleek,
white-haired body. ‘And, he does look powerful and beautiful.'

Sesshomaru thinks as he eats, ‘Humans run from me in this shape.
I've never shown it to Rin. I don't want her to fear me. But,
while there was a little bit of fear when I first changed, she
calmed down quickly. What does she think about me, now?'

She quickly finishes eating and stands up. "Sesshomaru?"

The huge head swings to her. One of its very bushy eyebrows'
raises in a silent question.

Kagome blushes, "May I . . . May I touch you?"

He slowly nods.

Kagome walks over to one of his huge front legs and begins to
gently brush her hand against his fur. She turns her head and
smiles at him, as her brushing deepens. "I don't think I'll ever
stop loving your silky hair."

She presses her face against his front leg. "This feels . . . "

Kagome remembers, when she was Sota's age, one of the neighbors
had this very large shaggy white-haired dog. She really liked
playing him, but the neighbor died and his widow moved away
taking Soichiro away. ‘I cried for days after that, which, now
that I think about, is probably why Mom never let me have a dog
for a pet.' she thinks.

"LLLIIIKKKEEE." Sesshomaru gravely voice says.

Kagome smiles as him. "Yes. Like." She kisses his fur.

His head swings looking at the sun. He changes shape back into
his normal human-form. "It is time to begin what we had planned
for today." He says.

Kagome nods. "Ok. Take me to the castaways, so I can set up a
schedule with them." She pauses. "Sesshomaru?"

"Yes?"

"I would like to get to know that side of you better."

He nods. "You should. I had been planning that some of your
combat lessons would be against me, in that shape."

Kagome grimaces. "I didn't mean it like that. I meant, just, I
don't know, you laying down and letting me groom, or trying to
groom you."

He raises an eyebrow. "You're sure?"

Kagome nods. "IF we are to be together, then I need to get used
to that side of you." Her mouth twitches. "Besides, the thought
of laying against your side and letting all that wonderful fur
rub against me." She hugs herself and shivers.

He smiles. "Not today, me dear, but, since you have no
objections, I will allow that."

Kagome's eyes narrow, "What about riding you?" She giggles.

His eyebrows raise, "There is riding, and then there is riding,
My love." He purrs. She blushes.

He pauses. "I suppose. I can let you ride me. There are some
combat scenarios that I can think of, in which, if we were to
attack with myself in my true shape, and you riding me on my neck
. . . " He voice trails off. "Yes. We can practice that in a
couple of days."

"I didn't mean just combat training, Sesshomaru." Kagome replies
in a hard voice. "I meant just traveling around, and such. When
Inu-yasha carries me on his back, at first it was uncomfortable,
but now, I like it a lot. The feeling of the wind in my hair, the
oh-so-scary view as he jumps from tree to tree."

She smiles, "The last time I went on a roller coaster, it was
really boring." She says in a low voice. "Traveling kilometers on
his back, going up and down, makes any roller coaster look easy."

"A roller coaster?"

She blushes. "An amusement ride. People ride on it, thinking that
it's dangerous and become happy when the leave it."

He frowns, shaking his head. ‘I knew humans where idiots . . . '
he thinks.

He coughs. "I suppose, a few trips around this island, just so
you can get used to traveling on my neck, wouldn't be a bad
thing."

Kagome hugs him. "Thank you."

He looks' her into the eyes. "You always amaze me, Lady Miko
Higurashi Kagome, after only seeing my true form for a short
time, you accept it and you want to be with me while I'm in my
true shape."

She shrugs. "I don't know. I'm just adaptable, I guess. When I
finally told some of my friends about my adventures, Emi, one
day, took me off to a side and told me that if something like
that happened to her, she'd go insane."

He nods. "Time to fly." He hugs her close.

She hugs him close.

Later . . . After Kagome has visited the castaways and set up a
schedule, and other minor housekeeping details.

(Authors' note: Sesshomaru's combat training schedule for Kagome:
basic swordsmanship-day 1.

Bow and Arrow practice-day 2 (after she, with his help, makes
them.)

Basic swordsmanship-day 3.

Bow and arrow practice, this time while on his back, in his true
shape, while he is moving day-4.

Unarmed combat training-day 5. ("You do know something about
this, don't you?" he asks. "Yes. I've got a friend, name Tendo
Akane, she has taught me a little.")

Kagome vs. Sesshomaru, in human-shape and true shape, no limits,
day 6. (Basically Kagome defending the cave, then Sesshomaru
defending the cave.)

Kagome & Sesshomaru, attack and defensive practice as a team. Day
7.)

In the interests of space, I'm not going to go into detail about
that schedule. Readers can assume that Kagome improves with each
day . . .

One sequence I will mention, though . . .

As they are about to begin the first days training . . .

"Kagome." Sesshomaru says in one of his serious tones.

"Yes. Sesshomaru." Kagome replies, as she places her hand on Jaa
Kalpa's hilt.

"In the Vampire world, I used your sword." He nods to it.

Kagome smiles, "Don't worry about that, Sesshomaru. I
understand."

‘He must be worried that I'd be upset about that. I know that
he'd be upset if I use Tokijin.' She thinks.

He shakes his head. "No, something else came up. When I talked to
your sword, the tone it used was questionable."

Kagome looks at her sword in puzzlement. "So?"

"You really haven't talked with it, have you?" Sesshomaru
replies. "Not like you've talked to the spirit in your clothes,
for example."

"Huh. No. I haven't . . . " Kagome voice trails off. She
concentrates on her sword.

*Jaa Kalpa?* she thinks.

*Mistress* the sword replies.

*is there something that I'm doing wrong?* she asks.

A pause . . .

*I am a weapon. If I am not in the hands of a warrior, I feel
useless.* Jaa Kalpa angrily thinks. *Trade me for Tenseiga. That
way I'm in the hands of someone that will use and appreciate me.*

*I'm sorry.* Kagome mentally bites her lips. *but, that is his
family's weapon. There is no way he'd ever make that trade.*

*he would.*

Kagome shakes her head. *no. I'm not going to ask him.* she
pauses. *I'm sorry, but . . . I'm not going to promise that I'm
going to use you as often as you'd like, Jaa Kalpa.*

*Grrr . . . *

*I do know that sometimes, combat is necessary, deaths are
sometimes necessary, and when those times come, I will use you,
that I promise.*

*You bend over backwards, trying to avoid combat.* the sword
whines. *I want to taste blood. I want to be driven into the
hearts on my opponents.*

She sighs. *We're both probably not happy, Jaa Kalpa. You because
you don't kill enough. I because there are times, when I do
kill.* She pauses. *Will you still work with me?*

*Are you going to force me?*

*no. but, if you're not going to help me, why should I use you?*

A pause . . .

*very well . . . but I will want to get into combat as often as
possible.* the sword replies.

Kagome nods. *And I'll use you as often as I can in combat, and
that's the most I can say.*

*Acceptable.*

Kagome blinks, looks at Sesshomaru, and says, "Well. That was
interesting."

"The sword wants to kill." He says in a dry tone.

"You're not surprised?"

"All swords do. Some more than others, of course, but if a sword
didn't want to kill, it wouldn't be a good sword. With the
exception of Tenseiga, of course." He replies.

Kagome grimaces, ‘more pressure on me to kill. I will hold true
to my ideals.' She thinks.

Sesshomaru pulls Tokijin. "Ready?"

Kagome pulls Jaa Kalpa. "Ready?"

"Then today's combat training, begins . . . "

Tokijin and Jaa Kalpa sing as they meet . . .

Later . . .

(Authors' note: Sesshomaru miko training schedule for Kagome:
skill training (doing things with her powers that require great
skill, but not great power) day 1.

Learning to speak with spirits-day 2. ("if you can ask the very
ground who walked over it, then even you can track your
opponent.")

Learning to use her raw power to increase her physical abilities-
day 3. ("jump, Kagome, use that power of yours to increase your
height!")

Mystical sense training-day 4 ("close your eyes, use your powers
to sense the very life around you. That way nothing can surprise
you.")

Defensive spells-day 5 ("Increase your ability to create
defensive force fields around you.")

Offensive spells-day 6 ("attack. NO one wins wars by defense
only. Attack.")

Mind control spells-day 7 ("my mental defenses were breached on
this trip. I want you to attack my defenses, so I can improve
upon them."))

In the interests of space, I'm not going to detail everything.
(The short sentence per day above should give, you, the reader,
some clue as to what happens.)

one short sequence at the beginning of day one, as an example . .
.

"Kagome. Your powers, properly used, would allow you to crack
this island, but, you're training in them is very spotting. So,
we will use that schedule I just outlined to you to improve your
miko abilities." He says as he paces around her.

Kagome is sitting Indian fashion on the sand in front of the
cave. She thinks, ‘that schedule is designed to increase my
combat skills. Well . . . given that it is Sesshomaru that's
talking, of course, it'll be designed to increase my combat
skills.' She sighs. ‘And I suppose I need to, but . . . '

She whispers, "I'd rather be learning how to make my enemies, my
friends." She sighs, "Or at least how to make normal peoples
lives easier."

He raises an eyebrow, "who's to say that these techniques will
not help you in that way, Kagome. You're intelligent and
adaptable. I'm sure that you'll find some way to use these
combat skills in a peaceful way."

He shrugs, "And, if you wish to experiment and try something
else, we'll try it."

"We can?" She asks in a glad tone.

He nods. ‘Most people learn faster by mistakes than by successes,
so trying some oddball method of hers might be helpful.'

"Ok. What do you want me to do?" Kagome asks.

He walks over, pulls a single long hair. "Tie it into a knot." He
hands it to her.

She starts to twist the hair. "No. With your powers. No hands."

"But." She looks at him. "I can't. My control isn't that good."

He stares at her, hard. She blushes. ‘Of course, why else would
he want me to do that . . . ' she thinks.

"I'll try." She says in a low voice.

"Don't try. Do."

*************************************

Later . . . after a couple of fruits and some cocoanut milk for
lunch.

Kagome, Sesshomaru, the Skipper and the professor are in the
Professor's hut. Sesshomaru and Kagome have brought the two
submachine guns and ammo that they acquired on the last world.

"Thank you, Professor, Skipper." Kagome bows as Sesshomaru places
the weapons on the table. "We acquired them fighting Germans on
the last world we went to. Pulling the trigger isn't hard, but
I've never changed magazines in guns like this. And my consort."
She places her hand on his arm. "Is from a time period before
guns were common."

Sesshomaru nods. "I have, of course, seen the weapons that the
western barbarians are selling. Unless devices really, a shorter
range then most bows, and they are much slower the a bow and
arrow."

The professor nods. "From what Higurashi said last night, I'm
sure that is true of the gunpowder weapons of your time, Lord of
the western lands. But, those guns do not require extensive
training, so it is much easier and quicker to train a few
thousand peasants to use them than it is to train that many good
archers."

Sesshomaru purses his lips, "perhaps . . . "

"And take anyway a bow and arrow, and a good archer can make a
new one fairly easily." The skipper adds in. "Take away a gun,
and making a new gun requires a lot more skill."

Sesshomaru nods. "That makes it easier to control the common
soldier."

The Professor nods. "From what she said," he nods to Kagome, "in
a few decades one of the warlords of japan, Oda Nobunaga, will
recognize the power of these weapons and conquer Japan."

He nods. ‘Oda family . . . small. It barely has the power to
control the area it rules now. If it conquers Japan, then that
will require a military genius and some new weapons.' He thinks.

"What about these?" He asks.

The Skipper and the Professor look at each other. The Skipper
grimaces and nods. The professor slowly nods.

Kagome and Sesshomaru share a glance. Something silent is going
around the room . . .

The professor gets up and goes to a wooden chest of drawers. He
pulls out a couple of small devices and places them next to the
guns.

He clears his throat. "When you first appeared and we found you."
He begins in a slow and careful voice. "We found the guns and the
swords. There was an argument between us about hiding them from
you or not."

Sesshomaru growls.

The skipper interrupts, "We decided that we wanted to make
friends, so we didn't hide the weapons." He thinks, ‘fat lot of
good that would have done us. He would have found them anyway.'

"But." The Professor adds, "Just to be on the safe side. I
removed the firing pins from the guns." He points to the small
devices next to the guns.

Kagome places her hand on Sesshomaru's arm, making sure he stays
calm. "And now?"

The Skipper and the Professor shrug. "It's quite obvious that we
couldn't stop him, anyway, so. We'll teach you how to use them."

Kagome bows, deeply to them. She hisses. "Nod in thanks, at
least."

Sesshomaru, after a long pause, dips his head, slightly.

The Skipper and the Professor sigh . . .

They pick up the submachine guns and begin to explain them to
Sesshomaru and Kagome.

Later . . .

"You don't have a lot of ammo for practice." The Skipper says.
"So be careful." He says as he hands over the gun to Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru grunts, as he accepts it.

"Thank you." Kagome bows to them as accepts the gun from the
Professor.

"I'll return in a little while. Earlier, I asked the girls if I
could help with tonight's meal and they said yes." Kagome
explains as she begins to head out the door.

‘I'm sure that they did accept the help.' The professor thinks.
‘The last time any of us tried to help them, it was a disaster
and I know that Mary Ann, would appreciate a night off of cooking
for everyone.'

"We will leave, now, Higurashi Kagome." Sesshomaru declares. "It
is time for you to study."

"Study?" the professor suddenly says, his eye's lite up. ‘It was
dark and in all the confusion of that night, I never really
looked at the books she had.' He thinks.

Kagome blushes. "I am still in school, Professor. And, while my
traveling is hurting my grades, I am studying, as much as I can,
to try and keep up."

The professor smiles, "Higurashi Kagome." He bows to her. "IT
would give me great pleasure to help you."

Kagome blinks in surprise, as she thinks, ‘he is called the
Professor. And Professor's teach . . . '

"Why?" Sesshomaru demands in a suspicious tone.

The professor raises an eyebrow, "Before I was stranded on this
island, I taught men and women." He sighs and waves his hands at
all the gadgets in the hut. "And while tinkering around and
creating all this is fun, but I do like to teach."

"And none of us will sit still long enough for him." The Skipper
adds in. "He's tried to hold classes, before."

"But, something happens." The professor sighs.

"Gilligan?" Kagome asks.

The Skipper and the professor look at each other and both of them
sighs . . .

Kagome's eyes flick to Sesshomaru, who is apparently ignoring the
byplay, as she says, "Of course, Professor, I'll return with my
books and I'll gladly accept all the help I can get."

She bows and with Sesshomaru in her wake, they leave the hut.

"You're sure about that, Professor?"

The Professor shrugs, "it's not going to hurt."

Later . . .

After Kagome & Sesshomaru has returned to the professor's hut
with her books.

Sesshomaru remains in the hut, watching and listening as the
professor looks through her books.

He sighs. "Well, I can help with the English, but you two already
speak it. I can read Japanese, but, I will need to borrow these
and translate them first, then, tomorrow or, at worst, the next
day, I can help you."

Kagome smiles. "You can help my English anyway, Professor. Right
now, I'm using a spell to help. And, since using it in class
would be cheating, so, I still need the help."

She glances at Sesshomaru. "And I think my consort, might find it
useful if he knew some of it, as well."

Sesshomaru starts. "Why?"

"When we return to Japan, if you and I know some English terms,
than we can talk and plan without, say, Naraku, knowing what we
are talking about."

Sesshomaru slowly nods, as he understands the plan.

"Miroku came up with that idea a little while ago. He was afraid
that Kanna has been spying on us. So, if we talked in English,
she could spy, but she would not know what we were talking
about."

"Useful." Sesshomaru nods. "The monk you said?"

Kagome nods. "Inu-yasha and Sango hate Naraku, but, they haven't
spent most of their life trying to find and kill him. Miroku
knows that this is his best chance."

"So, he willing to try new things to help him." Sesshomaru
replies.

The professor and the skipper exchange a glance and shrug.
Whatever Kagome and Sesshomaru are talking about, is something
that they don't understand.

Sesshomaru sighs, "Very well. I will learn some of this
language."

The professor looks at both of them. "Ok . . . Let's begin."

Later . . .

Mary Ann knocks of the door to the hut. "I'm sorry to interrupt,
but Higurashi volunteered to help me tonight?"

Kagome puts down her pen and paper. She smiles, "of course. If
you'll excuse me." She bows to the Professor, the skipper and
Sesshomaru.

She leaves.

Sesshomaru growls, deep in his chest.

The professor reaches into a drawer and places a rock on the
table that Sesshomaru is standing next to. "Destroy. Make you
feel better."

Sesshomaru grabs the rock and slowly crushes it, as he sings the
song of languages under his breath. "This language is the most
idiotic, stupid, language there is." He declares.

The professor smiles. ‘I knew it was getting to him. But, in
front of her, he wasn't going to show it.' He thinks.

"You did very well, Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western lands, far
better than I expected."

Sesshomaru growls. "Stupid language."

The professor clears his throat. "Now that she's gone is there
anything you wish to ask me?"

Sesshomaru looks around the hut. He frowns. Slowly, he says,
"There is one thing that I've wondered about, but never asked
her."

"And?"

"Very early in this journey of ours, She said . . . ‘Toto, I've
got a feeling we're not in Kansas, anymore.'"

Sesshomaru purses his lips. "This spell of language gives this
Sesshomaru an understanding of the language, but, ‘toto' and
‘Kansas' don't make much sense."

The skipper turns around, so he can begin to quietly chuckle . .
.

The Professor grins, he starts to chuckle . . . "Toto, I've got
a feeling we're not in Kansas, anymore." He says as he dissolves
into laughter.

"Human!" Sesshomaru growls.

"Ok." The professor stops laughing. "You want to know the context
and meaning of that phrase, right?"

"Of course."

"Well . . . here it is . . . "

******************************

At the large fireplace/kitchen area the castaways have made for
themselves.

Kagome, Mary Ann and Ginger are talking and preparing tonight's
dinner.

"Please remember to tell Gilligan, not bring me a bowl of food in
the morning." Kagome says to both of them. "I really don't think
that he'll live, if he spills another bowl on Sesshomaru."

Both girls nod. "No problem, Higurashi." Mary Ann says.

"Bitch!" Sesshomaru growls as he strides toward them. The
professor, the skipper, Gilligan and the Howells are trailing
behind him.

"Sesshomaru?" Kagome looks up from the fruit she was cutting in
surprise. The other two girls stop and look as well.

"Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas, anymore."
Sesshomaru growls.

Kagome blushes. She looks at the Professor.

Mary Ann and Ginger begin to giggle, to laugh . . .

"You told him!" Kagome cries. The professor suppressing a chuckle
as he nods.

"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks as she begins to back away from him.

He rumbles, a glint of something in his eyes . . .

Kagome spins around and runs into the trees.

Sesshomaru spins to faces the castaways. "Do not save her a place
to eat." He snarls.

‘Now . . . what do I do with her when I catch her . . . ' he
thinks as he follows her into the trees . . .

What should he do to her, dear readers?

The end chapter 51 . . .

Authors' note: did anyone catch the Maison Ikkuko reference?

Authors' note: I've had reviewers ask about the future plans for
this story. "When will they return home?" "How many worlds are
left?" etc.

So, I've set up a separate web-page with a short outline for my
future plans on it.

Remove the spaces for the link.

geocities. com/ wayne9atwebtv/ kagomespoilers. html

Click on that link, only if you want to see the spoilers. There
are a lot of them on that page.

Authors' note: sigh. One of the worlds . . . that I've been
thinking about sending Kagome and Sesshomaru to, I decided
against it.

But, I did do some research and wrote the prolog and some notes.
And I didn't want to waste that time, so.

I put the prolog up on fictionpress.
