It is time to let my evil side have full reign . . .
__________________________________________
IT is early morning, a clear, bright and sunshiny day . . .
Kagome and Sesshomaru appear on a soccer field.
Kagome looks around . . .
All of the signs are in Japanese . . .
She can see young people, teenagers, walking around. A couple of them are pointing to Kagome
and Sesshomaru and whispering to each other . . .
She smiles as she reads one of the signs.
She spins and hugs Sesshomaru tight, her arms go white from the pressure that she is applying.
"I'm home!" She screams in his ear!
Sesshomaru groans as he jerks his head away from her. ‘That hurt!' he thinks.
Kagome blinks. "Oh!" she whispers, "I'm sorry, that I yelled."
He nods. "This is home?" he asks.
She smiles, a big and beautiful smile, as she nods. "This isn't the school I go to, but I know it."
She frowns, "And we'd better leave pretty quickly, too."
"Hmmm?"
At the entrance to the school . . .
"Saotome! DIE!!" A tall teenage boy, swinging a wooden sword, begins to attack a smaller dark-
haired boy. The smaller boy dodges the attack effortlessly, while a pretty teenage girl with a short
haircut, shakes her head in disgust as she watches her finance fight . . .
‘I'll say hello to Akane, later,' Kagome thinks. ‘My mother needs to be the first person I greet,
especially given what's happened to me over the past month or so . . . '
"Sesshomaru, lets use Kuno's distraction and get out of here. If we don't . . . " She shakes her
head, "weird things happen when people stay too close to Ranma."
Sesshomaru frowns as he watches the fight, or rather, the exhibition of skill that Ranma is doing,
‘That boy . . . his opponent is beneath him. Why is he degrading himself by playing with his
opponent?'
"Ranma?" Sesshomaru rumbles.
"Yes, Ranma. He doesn't have a bad luck aura like Gilligan, instead, his curse is more, the
traditional, ‘may you live an interesting life', type curse." She pauses, "Well, one of his curses is
like that, the other isn't."
He nods. "Very well. Becoming entangled in that type of curse is painful on both sides."
Kagome leads him into the woods behind Furinkan high, explaining in low voice, "I meet Akane,
she's the girl that was with Ranma, during an archery tournament. I got kidnaped, but, she and
my little brother rescued me. She's the person that I've been learning hand to hand fighting
from."
Sesshomaru nods. "Ahhh. You need a better teacher. She only taught you some basic moves."
Kagome growls at him, as she defends her friend, "Of course, she only taught me some basic
moves. Between her adventures and my adventures, we barely have the time to talk, much less
the time to teach me."
She pauses, "And she is a good teacher." She sticks her tongue out at Sesshomaru. She begins to
skip and whistle as she leads him through the wooded park behind Furinkan.
‘She will defend her friends to the death.' He thinks. ‘Still, if a person is going to have a flaw,
always defending your friends is a good character flaw to have.'
His lips twitch, "you seem to be in a good mood."
She smiles, radiantly, at him, "we're home! Of course, I'm in a great mood!"
"You're home." He replies. "I'm not."
‘And, I don't know if we are in the correct universe, either,' Sesshomaru thinks, ‘something . . .
seems wrong.' His eyes catch the chain holding the shards of the jewel of four souls around
Kagome's neck. ‘A power? Like that jewel is complete? But, it's not, so . . . something must be
interfering with my senses.'
"Oh." Kagome says in a small voice, as she slumps, and stops skipping. "I forgot." She shakes
her head, "I was sooo excited about being home, I forgot about getting you through the well."
Kagome blinks, ‘a pulse of power? Like the completed jewel?' she thinks, ‘impossible. It's still
around my neck.'
He sniffs, then coughs, once. ‘The air, here, is corrupt. And that might be what is interfering with
my senses.'
‘The smog must be affecting him,' Kagome thinks.
"Sesshomaru, please be careful." Kagome says in a concerned voice, "There will be a lot of
unusual smells, sounds and objects in my world."
Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow, "Higurashi Kagome, we have explored how many worlds? And
in how many of them did you have to restrain me from doing something stupid?"
He holds up his hand, stopping her before she can reply, "And in how many worlds did I have to
rescue you, after you did something stupid?"
Kagome opens her mouth. She closes it. She coughs, "ok. You've got a point, Sesshomaru."
He smiles, "thank you, my love. I will ask before I try to use anything on this world, my dear. I
have learned that much, at least, during our travels."
They stop, just inside the wooded area. They can see a major road and beyond it, many modern
houses.
"There, Sesshomaru!" Kagome points, excitement rekindles in her voice, "That's where I live."
Off in the distance, in the smog, it's too far away to make out any details, is a large wooded hill.
He looks around, paying close attention to the cars, trucks and buses that are clogging the road
during morning rush hour.
"Since I can see that you wish to return home as quickly as possible," Sesshomaru begins to ask,
"Do you wish me to fly you home?"
Kagome looks at Sesshomaru. She glances at the traffic and pedestrians that are visible. She bites
her lips and sighs, "no. That would simply attract too much attention."
She begins with a giggle, "around Furinkan, you wouldn't attract that much attention, but around
my house . . . ' she finishes with a sigh.
She licks her lips, "Perhaps, Sesshomaru, lord of the Western lands, if you could change your
clothes into a hooded cape? And conceal your swords, just for a few short time?"
He glances at her sword.
She blushes and she unstraps it. "I'm going to put it next to my backpack, and hope that people
will just assume that it's part of the backpack."
He pauses, "What would happen if I did not do that?"
Kagome looks around, ‘no police cars, sigh.'
"Then the chances are that someone will notice you and the authorities will be altered. We'll be
stopped and we will have to answer questions. Questions that would be very difficult for me to
answer, since I live here."
"And dog demons are not normal." He states. "You've mentioned that before."
She nods. "Yes. When we were traveling on other worlds, Sesshomaru, it didn't matter all that
much, but here . . . If something happens, and my name and family are connected to it," she
shrugs. "I don't know, but something bad might happen."
HE sighs, "Since this is your home world, my consort." His clothes change, as he adds a cloak to
them. "I will not hide my face, but I will conceal my armor and swords."
Kagome purses her lips, ‘For one trip, especially during rush hour . . . that might work. Everyone
is in a hurry to get to school or to work, hopefully all that they'll see is the white hair . . . '
Kagome's eyes flick to corner convenience store.
"Sesshomaru, please, wait right here. I'll be back in a few minutes. I want to get you some
sunglasses." Kagome asks. She waits just long enough to see his nod, before she starts to walk,
quickly to the store.
‘Money?!' she thinks as she picks up a pair of sunglasses. ‘How will I pay for these? I don't
bring modern money with me into the past, so, I don't have any . . . ' She looks around.
The store clerk is eyeing her . . . He is a young man, with a greasy complexion. He looks like he
wants to say something to Kagome, but can't work up the courage.
Kagome looks blank for a second, then, she sighs, ‘I hate using this, but. I'll come back later and
pay for them.'
She waits until the counter is empty of everyone but the clerk.
She walks up to the counter saying, "I don't need to pay for the glasses." She waves her hand at
the clerk.
The clerk pauses . . . his eyes glaze over, "you don't need to pay for the glasses." He repeats . . .
Kagome quickly walks out of the store. ‘Hopefully nobody is paying attention to me, so.'
But . . . one of the patrons does exit the store. She frowns, and whispers, "no way . . . that can't
be her, she is too rich and famous to visit a little store like this."
Kagome rejoins Sesshomaru and hands him the sunglasses. "Here, please put these on. They'll
disguise the color of your eyes." She sighs, "and we'll just hope no one comments on your
tattoo's and birthmarks." She finishes as she puts the glasses on him and her hands brush against
his facial markings.
Sesshomaru nods. "And now?"
"And now, we walk, as fast as we can, without attracting attention, to my house." Kagome
smiles. She spins on her toes and begins to quickly walk in the direction of her house.
"Follow me!" She cries.
Sesshomaru quickly catches up.
"You do remember everything that I told you about my mother, right?" Kagome asks after
they've been walking a few minutes.
"Of course." He replies.
"Good. I want you to make a good first impression on her." She smiles at him. "Although, I
should warn you that the first time, my mother saw Inu-yasha, she had to play with his ears."
Sesshomaru's eyebrow rises. He sighs, "only for you would I even consider it . . . " He nods.
Kagome's smile grows. "Thank you, Sesshomaru. Thank you!" She nods. "And I'll make it up to
you, I promise." Her smile this time, is full of lust.
He grins back, his fangs showing.
Kagome, still walking fast, begins to talk about her mother, brother and grandfather, "you know,
just in case, I forgot something, Sesshomaru, when I was talking about them earlier." She says in
a low voice as she begins.
He sighs.
He frowns, Kagome is soo busy talking that she doesn't notice it. ‘The humans around us . . . ' he
thinks, ‘some of them are mentioning Kagome, I think.' He glares at the people on the street,
which goes unnoticed, since it is behind his new sunglasses.
‘But. Why are they speaking about how famous? How rich? How sexy? Kagome is.' He thinks.
‘She's always told me that, here, she is a normal child, nothing special. But, from the way these
humans are acting . . . that's not the case?'
A couple of male high school students are talking, Sesshomaru is listening, "That has to be her!"
one of them points to Kagome.
"No way, pal. She's too famous to walking alone on the street. She has to be one of those
impersonators you hear about. You know, like those Elvis ones. She's famous enough to have
some, I'd bet."
The first replies, "I suppose you're right. But, why did you have to be right!" He hits his friend
in the shoulder, "you shouldn't have spoiled my dream!"
The second hits his friend back, "hey! Don't blame me! You can still jerk off to her poster, like
you do every night!"
The first one hits back, "I do not! You do!"
"You do, too!" both young friends playfully slap each other around as they walk around a corner.
‘What are they talking about?' Sesshomaru thinks . . .
As Kagome is walking along, she thinks, ‘This might be the best solution for Sesshomaru, Inu-
yasha and myself. Inu-yasha is normally more subdued on this side of the well, so, once I
introduce Sesshomaru to mother, I can jump down the well, grab Inu-yasha.'
She nods. ‘And we can talk about our relationship on my side of the well, where Inu-yasha
doesn't attack everything without thinking.'
A few minutes later . . .
Kagome stops suddenly as she turns a corner. She brushes off Sesshomaru's growl of a question
and quickly hides in some nearby tall bushes. Sesshomaru follows her.
"Higurashi Kagome?" he growls, once they enter the bushes.
"Something's wrong up ahead," Kagome whispers as she peaks through the bushes.
"What?"
She opens the bushes so he can see.
In front of a tall stone staircase, under an arcing sign that reads, "The Sunset Shrine" is a large
group of cars, vans and trucks. Many of the vans have multiple antennas and dishes on them.
Standing at the base of the stairs is a large group of people. Some are in uniform, some are
waving microphones, some are holding cameras, and others just seem to be there, all of them are
waiting for something . . .
"What are the TV news people doing at the shrine?" Kagome whispers. "And the police,
although, they just seem to be doing crowd control instead of something else."
"Something is wrong?" HE asks.
Kagome grimaces, "yes."
She pauses, then nods, "I'd bet that someone at school tried to force his way in to see me." She
slowly nods. "And my mother . . . or better yet, I'd bet my grandfather lied. And told them that I
was kidnaped and missing. And then, that must have gotten onto the local TV news, and then,
more and more people have gotten involved. I bet that's it."
Kagome nods, as she thinks, ‘Yes, that has to be it. I noticed a couple of people point at me,
while we were walking. They must have seen the news reports of my disappearance . . . '
"I take it, then, that we will not be walking up those stairs?" Sesshomaru asks in a dry voice.
Kagome growls at him. "Ssshh." She sighs, "you're right, though, without knowing exactly
what's happened . . . "
Her eyes narrow, "All of them are focused on the top of the stairs . . . " she whispers.
Kagome points to the side of the stairs, "can you fly us, very fast, up that route. We'll come up
behind the shrine and land at my house. IF there is police, or someone at the door, we can land on
the backside of the house. I know where the key to the backdoor is and we can go in that way."
Sesshomaru looks at the route, "Of course."
She steps into his arms, "Then, please do so, Sesshomaru. Something has gone wrong at home,
and I want to find out what happened as soon as possible, please." She begs, her voice full of
fear.
He nods.
‘Grandfather had to have made a very stupid lie.' Kagome thinks, ‘I've got to get home, find out
what, correct it.' She glances at Sesshomaru, as he is studying the humans, finding the right
moment to move.
‘And, I'll have to coach him, quickly, about how to handle the press.' Kagome jaw tightens,
‘grandfather . . . ' she thinks in anger.
Sesshomaru flies quickly up the side of the hill. A couple of people catch a flash of white in the
corners of their eyes, but no one gets a good look at him or Kagome.
Kagome frowns, "Land at the back of the building with those men standing in front of it." She
whispers. A group of people, they look like plainclothes police officers or bodyguards, are
standing next to the front door.
Her eyes narrow, as glances at the well house. ‘Something is very wrong. I don't feel the well.
This close . . . I should sense something. But . . . nothing?' She takes a deep breath as
Sesshomaru lands without notice at the back of the house.
Sesshomaru, as he flies, glances at the God Tree. ‘Something is different about it. Is it dying?'
The god tree looks normal. It is full leafed out and looks very health and normal. ‘The aura
around it is wrong . . . '
Kagome whispers, "don't say anything, Sesshomaru, until I can find out what's wrong."
‘I can feel Inu-yasha's aura in the house, hopefully, he can explain what happened. Oh, gods?
Did someone see him?' Kagome thinks.
He nods. He thinks, ‘I can feel my brother's aura in this house.'
She quickly finds the key and opens the door.
She grabs his hand and drags him into the house and through the corridors, as she tries to find her
family . . .
Sesshomaru frowns, ‘Her mother has to have a very similar aura . . . my senses are telling me
that Kagome is on the second floor of this house . . . ' he thinks, very puzzled . . .
She walks into the living room.
Kagome smiles, her teeth shining brightly, as she sees her mother standing by the front door.
"Mother!" She calls.
Her mother, turns, and her eyes widen. Kagome's mother is not wearing her normal clothes, she
is wearing an expensive dress suit of clothes.
Her mouth opens, "ka . . . Kagome?" She points to the stairs.
Kagome turns, so she can see up the stairs.
Standing about halfway down the stairs is Inu-yasha.
He is wearing a nice, expensive business suit, with a hat, one that looks like it was taken out of a
detective movie, to cover his ears. He is also wearing mirrored sunglasses, to hide his eyes. His
right hand swiftly moves under his jacket and pulls out a huge pistol . . .
Standing at the top of the stairs is Higurashi Kagome.
She is wearing a very expensive full-length silk dress. It is blood red in color. The bust is cut,
very deep, showing off her cleavage.
Kagome stares up at Kagome . . .
Kagome, her eyes wide with surprise, stares down at Kagome . . .
Sesshomaru glances at both persons standing on the stairs, Inu-yasha and Kagome. His right-
hand is still in Kagome's grasp. His left hand though, hangs ready at his side. It is glowing green,
as he prepares for battle . . .
Kagome squeezes Sesshomaru's hand as her eyes lock on the necklace around the other
Kagome's neck.
Hanging from it is a complete Jewel of the Four Souls . . .
IT reeks of corruption . . .

Hanging from it is a complete Jewel of the Four Souls . . .
IT reeks of corruption . . .
