Kagome where are you
Anime world.
Kagome and Sesshomaru appear. They are standing in front of what
appears to be a typical Japanese high school.
It is a bright and sunny spring day.
Kagome frowns, "graviton High? Where have I heard that name
before?"
A series of explosions to their right causes their hands to swing
that way.
Running toward them, at a speed that Sesshomaru finds fast, is a
young Japanese school girl with flaming red hair. The only
nonstandard clothing that she's wearing is the long, thick
bracers on her forearms.
Behind her, wearing a suit of armor that is modeled on a skimpy
one-piece swimsuit, is another young school girl, with long
purple hair.
From her wrist a steady stream of missiles is being fired at the
first girl.
"SORRY!" the first girl yells as she dodges Sesshomaru and
Kagome.
"I'll get you, A-KO!" the second girl yells.
"I wasn't doing anything, B-Ko!" the first girl yells.
Explosions begin to pepper the area where Sesshomaru and Kagome
are at. A cloud of dust and dirt forms around them.
It fades . . .
Both Sesshomaru and Kagome have blackened faces and stringy and
burned hair. Sesshomaru growls, but before he can leave, Kagome
grabs his arm, stopping him.
"I know where we are, Sesshomaru." Kagome says.
"And that is?"
"It's an anime series that I watched as a kid. Project A-ko."
"And what shall we do here?" Sesshomaru asks.
"I don't know." Kagome begins to say, but she pauses, "I take
that back, Sesshomaru. Something is telling me." She blinks and
shakes her head.
"Telling you what?"
"I'm not sure." Kagome replies. "Let me use my powers, please."
"Here?" Sesshomaru waves his hands.
Kagome notices that other school girls and teachers are
approaching them.
"No." She replies, "and we need to clean up. So, let's fly." She
steps into his hands.
Sesshomaru wraps her in his arms and they fly away to the oohhh's
and aaaww's of the crowd.
"You didn't mention trying to hide." Sesshomaru remarks.
"No need, Sesshomaru. If this world is project A-ko, then it is
used to odd sights like us."
Later . . .
In a wooded area with a stream, and after they've cleaned up.
Kagome sits down, indian-style, and concentrates. She reaches out
with her powers.
She glows . . .
The glow stops.
She opens her eyes. "I think, Sesshomaru, I think we need to
visit my home." She whispers.
"Something bad?"
She pauses, "I'm not sure. I just think we need to see it."
"Do you wish to fly there?"
Kagome shakes her head. "No. The feeling isn't that imperative,
Sesshomaru." She smiles, "And, especially after what happened on
the last world, I think it'll be best if we slowly walk up and
explore this world, instead of jumping into it."
Sesshomaru nods. "I suppose. You'll want me to disguise myself,
again."
Kagome licks her lips, "something is telling me that might not be
necessary, Sesshomaru. But, let's be cautious. So, if you could,
please." She bows her head toward him.
He sighs, and nods. "Very well."
Later . . . they are walking down one of the streets.
Kagome frowns, she whispers, "This is close to what my world is
like, but, there are things that is different."
"In what way?"
"I'm sensing more," Kagome shrugs, "More power than I do
normally. It feels more like your side of the well. I can sense
more demons and such."
"I am sensing similar powers." Sesshomaru replies. He frowns.
He subtly nudges her and points, "I sense demonic powers from
them, for instance."
Kagome looks at the two young men. They are walking toward
Kagome, but on the other side of the street. She thinks, ‘the
cars and buses are getting in the way.' She pauses, ‘but, I think
I recognize them.'
Both of them are young men, and both are dressed in casual
clothing. One of them has short, somewhat spiky black hair. The
other has striking long red hair and even from a distance,
striking green eyes.
Her eyes open and she whispers, "YuYu Hakusho. They are from that
series. Yusuke Urameshi and Shuuichi Minaino."
They are talking to each other and slapping each other shoulders,
acting like two teenager boys having a good time together.
"You know them?" Sesshomaru asks. "They have demonic powers, I
can sense that, but you've mentioned that your world does not
many beings."
Kagome shakes her head, "It's not like that, Sesshomaru."
She smiles, "Like the school where we appeared, I've seen them on
the TV, not in real-life. They are characters from an anime show
called Yuyu Hakusho."
One of the two boys, nudges the other, and points to Kagome,
"Hey, doesn't she remind you of that girl Kagome from that anime,
Inu-yasha?"
The other, looks and says, "yeah, and the guy she's with looking
like Sesshomaru. Probably a couple practicing their costumes for
the comic convention next week."
"Yes, that makes sense."
The two boys walk past kagome and Sesshomaru without any other
comment.
Kagome frowns, ‘First Project A-ko and then YuYu Hakusho? What
type of world is this one?' she thinks.
They walk past a park. Kagome spots a used newspaper laying on
near a trash bin. "Litterbugs." She grumbles. But, instead of
throwing it away, she opens it up and starts to read.
"Kagome? If you don't mind?" Sesshomaru asks, as she ignores him.
"Oh, sorry, Sesshomaru. This is a newspaper, or rather part of
one. However bought took out the sports section and threw the
rest away. No. Tried to throw the rest away."
Kagome replies, "Anyway, in it is new-worthy stories. Think of it
as gossip, and traveler's tales, but written down."
"Ah, I see."
"Some of the stories are local, what's happening in town. And
other stories are from the other side of the world."
"How accurate are the stories in it?" Sesshomaru asks, "gossip
and traveler's tales are frequently mistaken."
Kagome shrugs, "it's supposed to be accurate. But, mistakes
happen. And you do have people writing it and their opinions will
shape how they tell you things."
"I see, Kagome. It reminds me of the time a couple of spies
reported to me. One wanted me to make peace with a family, so his
story was full of peaceful reasons, as he tried to use that story
to convince me to make peace. The other spy wanted me to destroy
the family he was spying on, so his story was full of reasons to
attack the family."
"What did you do?"
"I told them that lying to me was punishable by death."
Sesshomaru grins, "And that I'll consider their reports as
unfinished. I handed the reports back to them."
"And the new reports?"
"Were very different." Sesshomaru replies. "They decided that
they feared my punishment, so, the new reports basically said the
same thing."
"What did you do to that family?"
"Ah, one of the spies was careless. He was captured and executed.
So, I destroyed the family."
"Oh." Kagome says in a small voice.
"I couldn't let them believe that just because I hired an idiot
that I was weak."
Kagome sighs. And shaking her head, she reads the newspaper.
She frowns. ‘That high school . . . I know that name.' She
thinks.
"Something interesting?" Sesshomaru asks, when his ears hear her
voice catch.
"Yes." Kagome points, "this article is about the reopening on a
high school. The school was damaged during a running battle
between a couple of super-powered aliens, apparently."
"And this is interesting, because?"
"The name of the high school is from another anime series that I
know, Tenchi Muyo. The article doesn't mention, by name, anybody
from the series, but the descriptions of the aliens match a
couple of characters from the series. Mishoshi and Kiyone."
Sesshomaru rubs his chin, "Hmmm. That would be the third group of
beings you know from something called, ‘anime series', correct."
"Yes." Kagome replies, "Once, who knows. Twice could be a
coincidence, but three times." She purses her lips, "I think that
we are on a world full of various anime characters."
Kagome flips the paper. She nods. "Yes, I'd say that this pretty
much confirms it."
"What is it?"
"It is a report of a battle on a local beach between a couple of
super-powered girls. From the descriptions, I'd say that they are
Nuku-Nuku and Emi from All purpose Cultural cat girl nuku-nuku."
"Cat girl?"
"A very powerful human-like machine, Sesshomaru." Kagome glances
at him, "she'd probably give you a real workout. You're probably
faster, but she can absorb a lot more damage than you can."
Sesshomaru growls.
"But, Sesshomaru." Kagome closes the paper. "This does change
things, I think."
"How?"
"If this world is full of various anime characters, like I think
it is, then, I think one of them, will be able to help us out."
"And why to you think that?"
"Because a lot of anime characters have powers and knowledge that
are as great, if not greater than ours, Sesshomaru. And if we can
find the right person to ask, then, I think we'll be directed
home."
"hmmm. You are saying that this world would be like, mine, but
during the time of legends and gods. So, many of the powerful and
knowledgeable people of legend are around and can be helpful."
Sesshomaru muses.
"Yes, pretty much, Sesshomaru."
"Hmmm. Many legendary characters may not help us, for one reason
or another."
Kagome nods. "And there are other reasons." She taps the paper on
the story about Tenchi's high school reopening. "I know that
there are a couple of characters that we can meet in and around
that school that have the knowledge and power to help us,
Sesshomaru." She trails off.
"I heard a but in there." He remarks.
She nods. "Yes, but, one of them would want to treat you as a
test subject and try to take you apart." Sesshomaru growls. "And
the other, well, both of you are touchy about your honor and
appearance."
"Meaning they'd only help us after a fight." Sesshomaru says.
Kagome nods. "We'll go there if we need to, Sesshomaru." She
sighs, "but, Let's go to my house and see what's there first."
"Very well." He replies, "Shall we go?"
Kagome nods and she does drop the newspaper into the trash can.
Later, they are still walking toward Kagome's house.
"Don't let the demon get away!" a huge shout, in a girl's voice,
is heard by them.
A huge, vaguely human monster turns a corner and begins to run
toward Kagome and Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru steps in front of Kagome, protecting her, his hand is
on Tokijin's hilt, ready to draw it.
A young woman, who looks a lot like Venus Red, jumps over a
building.
She fires a flaming arrow in front of the monster.
The monster stops, turns around howling at the top of its voice.
More girls jump over the building and land next to the first
girl.
A girl, who's long blonde pigtails reminds Sesshomaru of Venus
Pink, throws something at the monster. "I, Sailor Moon, banish
you!" she yells.
The monster, after a pyrotechnic display of energy, fades away.
The girls crowd around Sailor Moon and congratulate her.
"The Venus girls," Sesshomaru whispers. "But, I don't feel the
magic sex."
Kagome shakes her head, "No, Sesshomaru. Those girls are from
Sailor Moon." She pauses. She takes a step in their direction,
then stops. She shakes her head, "No. not yet."
"Kagome?" Sesshomaru asks, "What?"
"One of the girls, Sailor Pluto, can probably help us,
Sesshomaru." Kagome answers. "But, she also dislikes time travel,
so I don't think she'll like us."
Kagome bites her lips. "We can find them later."
Sesshomaru looks at Kagome. "You really want to get home, don't
you?"
Kagome nods, "yes. Especially after the last world. I'd really
like to find out what my family is like on this one." She bites
her lips again, and lets out a small laugh, "I've even been
considering grabbing someone and seeing if I can borrow their
cell phone to call my mother."
Sesshomaru reaches out and grabs her hand.
Kagome raises her other hand to her face and brushes aside a
tear. "Even if she's not my real mother, the thought of talking
to her . . . "
Sesshomaru wraps Kagome in his arms.
She begins to cry into his chest.
A couple of the Sailor Scouts notice Sesshomaru and Kagome and
walk over.
Sailor Mars, with Sailor Jupiter beside her, asks Sesshomaru, "Is
she hurt? I thought that we had caught him in time."
Sesshomaru growls, "Go away."
The two girls look at him, hard. They shift their stances into a
combat stance.
"No!" Kagome yells as she feels Sesshomaru's muscles tense. "Fly
us out of here, Sesshomaru! Don't fight!"
Sesshomaru growls, louder, but, gathers Kagome in his arms and
swiftly flies away.
The other Sailor Scouts rush over to Sailor Mars and Sailor
Jupiter. "What happened?!" "Do we chase Them!"
"She said, Sesshomaru." Sailor Jupiter says in a low voice. "Like
from the anime series."
"Yes." Sailor Mars replies, "I wonder. She did look like Kagome."
"But, they're not real!" Sailor Moon cries.
"They seem to be." One of the other scouts says.
"Anime character's aren't real!"
After a short flight, Sesshomaru lands on top of a building.
He sits down, dragging Kagome with him. She begins to cry into
his chest. He hugs her, slowly rocking her. "Everything will be
fine." He whispers. "This world will be the last we visit. I'm
sure."
Kagome, her voice choked with emotion, "I know. IT's . . . it's
just." She cries into his chest.
He holds her, comforting her with soft, gentle words and soft
caresses.
After a while, Kagome stops crying.
She wiggles, and Sesshomaru lets her go.
She cleans her eyes, kisses him on the check, "Thank you, my
love." She whispers.
"The thought of your mother?"
"Some." She whispers, "It's just . . . " she shakes her head,
"this journey. I've changed."
Her lips twitch into a quick smile, "A lot, I think. But, my
mother hasn't, Inu-yasha hasn't, the others haven't. And . . . "
He hugs her. "And you don't know how they'll react."
She nods, rubbing her face against his chest. "Yes." She hisses,
"while we were traveling, aimlessly, it didn't matter. Now,
though," She takes a deep breath, "Now, though, my relationship
with you will become." She trails off.
"Different." Sesshomaru supplies, "I've had similar thoughts, my
love. During our journey, I've ignored a lot of abuse, because,
the people we've met mean nothing to me. But, we will be
returning home, and we will be meeting people that I do know."
He sighs, "And, I believe the hardest part is ahead." He finds
her hand and squeezes. "But. With you at my side, we will
succeed."
Kagome squeezes him, "Yes, we will succeed."
She takes a deep breath and stands up, dragging him up in the
process.
"Let's find my house, Sesshomaru."
He nods. He grabs her and flies to the street. They begin walking
again.
Shortly . . .
A small turtle flies past them . . .
"Tama chan!" A young, in her early teens, girl with short black
hair cries as she runs past them, chasing the turtle. "Stop!
Kaolla was just joking!"
Another short thin early teenage blonde haired girl runs past. On
her chest is an eating bib, with a picture of a dead turtle on
it. In one hand is a knife and in the other is a fork. "I was
not! I'm hungry!"
All three of them quickly run away, leaving Sesshomaru and Kagome
in their dust.
He looks at Kagome, his eyebrow raised in a silent question.
Kagome blushes, "They are from a series called Love Hina,
Sesshomaru." She clears her throat, "mmm. I've got a couple of
the manga's. I've been thinking about giving them to Miroku.
He'll love the idea of one boy living with five young girls."
His eyebrow rises higher up his forehead. "I'm sure. And are you
sure you're not a pervert?"
Kagome's blush deepens, "It's not like that, Sesshomaru. They
don't do anything with each other, its all just glimpses and
such. It's a love story, nothing else. And I thought that Sango
might like it as well. Naru hits Keitaro almost as much as she
hits Miroku."
Sesshomaru shakes his head. "I don't want to know."
Kagome grins, "besides, Kaolla," She shrugs, "She's quite
mysterious, if we need to, she might be able to help us."
The look of disgust on Sesshomaru's face causes Kagome to bend
over as she prevents her giggles from growing into full-blown
laughter.
later . . .
"The shrine should be just around the corner, Sesshomaru." Kagome
whispers.
He finds her hand and squeezes. "Everything will be fine."
She squeezes back. "Thank you." She whispers.
They turn the corner.
Kagome's mouth drops open, "It's not there . . . "
Where her the shrine, the god tree, her house, everything should
be is a multistory apartment building.
Sesshomaru wraps his arm around her shoulder, supporting her.
Beep, beep
A motorcycle horn sounds behind them.
Sesshomaru releases Kagome and spins around.
He opens his mouth to growl, but closes it with a snap.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome says as she turns around.
Sesshomaru bows, deeply, to the person standing in front of him.
"Please, don't." A young woman, probably of northern European
descent, says in a light calm voice. She has very long brown hair
and bright blue eyes. She has a diamond-shaped tattoo on her
forehead and small triangle-shaped tattoos next to her eyes. She
is wearing a very pretty, with floral designs, sundress.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks again, surprise in her voice.
Sesshomaru rises. "Goddess." He nods his head toward Belldandy.
"Goddess?"
"Please, my name is Belldandy." she says as she waves her hand at
her companion, "And my friend's name is Keiichi."
"Hello." Keiichi says as he sits on his motorcycle. He is thin,
smallish man with short black hair. He waves at Kagome and
Sesshomaru, his motorcycle helmet on his lap.
Belldandy smiles, and it's infectious enough that Kagome and
Sesshomaru smile backs. "I've been trying to locate you two for
the past month."
Kagome and Sesshomaru's faces freeze and they look at each other
in shock.
"But, I've finally managed to get you here, where I can fix
things."
"The past month?" Kagome squeaks out.
"Of course, Higurashi Kagome." Belldandy replies, "The device
that's been moving you around the multiverse is not subtle. And
in the wrong hands it can cause disasters."
"You know?" Kagome breathes.
Belldandy nods. "Yes. But, please, there is no need to discuss
things out here. If you could, please, follow Keiichi and I home.
Then, we'll see about correcting things."
"Of course." Sesshomaru replies.
Kagome blinks. ‘Now! I remember her! Ah, My Goddess! I only saw
the OAV once.'
"Belldandy, goddess of the present." She whispers.
Belldandy nods. "I thought you might know. But, please, full
introductions can be made later."
Kagome and Sesshomaru look at each other, "of course." The
chorus.
Belldandy smiles, "just follow us." She flicks at Sesshomaru,
"even if you lose sight of us, you'll be to track us."
He nods.
Belldandy nods.
She enters the sidecar attached to the motorcycle, placing her
helmet on her head. She waves to Kagome and Sesshomaru, as
Keiichi begins to drive away.
Sesshomaru grabs Kagome and he follows.
"How did you know?" They ask each other, at basically the same
time.
"You first." Sesshomaru growls.
"She's the star of one of the anime series called Ah! My Goddess!
The man accidently contacts her. She visits him to grant him a
wish. He wishes that she'd be with him. And . . . they fall in
love." Kagome replies.
"That was an intelligent wish." Sesshomaru remarks.
Kagome stiffens in his grasp.
"I am sorry." Sesshomaru whispers, "That, given the last world,
was uncalled for."
"I accept." She whispers back. She clears her voice, "And you?"
"I recognized the aura and power." Sesshomaru replies. "They are
of a goddess, not a simple demon. Her facial tattoos also give
her away. I was not aware of exactly whom she is, just that she
is a goddess."
Kagome nods, "She is the goddess of the present, Sesshomaru."
Kagome frowns, "And, since she has responsibilities to make sure
that everything works smoothly, I can see why she'd be interested
in the cube."
He nods, "I understand." He purses his lips, "She is wearing
something to limit her power, though, I wonder why?"
"So, she doesn't do great harm with a thought," Kagome replies.
He nods.
They land, after a few minutes of flight, next of a large temple
complex.
Kagome smiles as she feels the power and aura around the place.
‘There's even a tree, which feels very similar to mine.' She
thinks.
Keiichi and Belldandy are standing at the front steps of the
temple, waiting for them as they land.
Kagome clears her thought, "ahmm. Won't people wonder?" she
points to herself and Sesshomaru.
"Not really, Kagome." Belldandy replies, "there is a spell around
the house, it causes people to ignore odd sights." She smiles,
"Keiichi doesn't want anybody to know that I'm a goddess, so . .
. "
Kagome bows deeply, "thank you."
"Please don't." Belldandy requests. "I don't want to be treated
differently."
Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow at that statement.
Keiichi and Belldandy, with Kagome and Sesshomaru following, walk
up the flight of stairs to the temple.
At the temple entrance, two more females are waiting.
"HI!" The shorter of the two women calls. She has very long black
hair, and an oval-shaped tattoo on her forehead.
"Hello!" The taller woman purrs, as she looks at Sesshomaru. Her
whitish hair contrasts with her darker skin complexion. She has a
triangular-shaped tattoo on her forehead.
Belldandy introduces them, "This is my older sister, Urd." The
tall woman nods, still looking at Sesshomaru. "And my younger
sister Skuld."
"Where is it?" Skuld, in a very excited voice, asks, "Every since
you mentioned it, Belldandy I've been very curious about it."
Sesshomaru growls, slightly. Kagome squeezes his hand, and
whispers, "It's ok. Remember we need their help to get home."
Belldandy, after a quick glance at Kagome and Sesshomaru, says,
"I don't have it, Skuld. But, that will be taken care of in its
proper time and place."
Skuld grimaces, but nods.
"Goddess of the Present, what are you plans?" Sesshomaru asks in
a very respectful tone.
"Please, Sesshomaru, lord of the western lands, call me
Belldandy." She replies, a smile on her lips, "My plans? First,
I'm going to make some tea." She glances at him, "So, everyone
can relax and talk. Then, yes, I will need the cube that you've
been using."
A pause, her smile grows, "Then, we'll see about placing you two
in the correct world."
Kagome bows deeply, "Thank you, Belldandy."
Sesshomaru bows as well. "Thank you, Belldandy."
She waves at the entrance, "please enter,"
A few minutes later, everyone is inside and sitting around a low
table.
Belldandy enters carrying a tray, with glasses and a pitcher of
tea on it.
‘How can a goddess even want to serve food?' Sesshomaru thinks.
‘She should be ordering Kagome or myself, or that Keiichi boy to
do it.'
"I do this, Sesshomaru," Belldandy says, "because I like it. And,
it makes me feel good to something useful, even a small thing
like this."
He opens his mouth, ‘I wasn't talking.' He thinks in surprise. He
bows his head. "Forgive me for questioning you, Goddess."
Kagome reaches out, grabs his hand and squeezes.
Kagome clears her throat, "I was going to ask if I could help?"
Belldandy smiles, "Later, as I clean up, you'd be more than
welcome to help me."
Kagome smiles back.
Sesshomaru flicks his eyes across the others.
Keiichi is drinking his tea and making appreciative comments to
Belldandy about it, who blushes, faintly as she thanks him for
noticing.
Skuld is asking Kagome about the worlds that they're visited.
Kagome, as is her habit, is quickly making friends with anybody
that she talks to.
Urd, though, is studying Sesshomaru. Studying him, hard . . .
He sniffs, smelling Urd's perfume, ‘refusing the attentions of a
goddess is a bad idea.' He thinks. He glances at Kagome, ‘and I'm
sure, she'll understand, eventually.'
His tea, thought, sits undrunk in front of him.
Belldandy, after a minute of talking to Keiichi and listening in
on her sister's ill disguised interrogation of Kagome, notices
Sesshomaru isn't drinking.
"Oh, I am sorry, Sesshomaru." She says. She waves her hand over
the cup. "There. Nothing will affect you."
"I'd forgotten about that, Bell." Urd purrs in a sexy voice.
"Thank you for reminding me."
Kagome quickly glances at Urd. She places her hand on
Sesshomaru's shoulder. "Be careful, my lover." She says,
stressing that last word.
She stares at Urd, "Urd has a bad habit of trying to create love,
instead of leaving it alone and letting it develop naturally."
Urd stares back at Kagome. She smiles, "Bold and daring. Not what
I expected, Kagome."
Kagome nods, "I can either do nothing and hope that nothing
happens, which, from my knowledge of you is a forlorn hope, or I
can be bold and see what happens."
She smiles, "besides, being around Sesshomaru and his brother,
both of whom are bold men, rubs off." She squeezes his shoulder.
Urd glances, her gaze smoldering, at Sesshomaru.
He is sitting, absolutely still. ‘Should I do anything . . . I'm
either going to upset Kagome or offend a goddess . . . '
Urd and Kagome stare at each other . . .
Keiichi clears his throat, interrupting that staring contest,
"Sesshomaru? How about I show you around the place, while
Belldandy and Kagome clean up."
That, as he hoped, breaks up the tea party.
Keiichi shows Sesshomaru around the house. They stop at the
motorcycles. "You don't say much, do you?" Keiichi remarks.
A pause, "This world is new to me." Sesshomaru finally replies,
"and I've found it safer to say as little as possible."
Keiichi nods. ‘He's not an easy person to get to know.' He
thinks. ‘And with the swords he's carrying.' He sighs.
‘Now what?' Keiichi thinks. ‘We've got nothing in common, really.
So what do I do next?'
‘He's not a totally obnoxious human, but I still don't see why a
goddess would be attracted to him. He's short. He's weak. And I
can't sense any great magic about him, so why?'
An awkward silence grows between the two men.
"Sesshomaru!" Belldandy calls, "could you and Keiichi come here.
I'm ready."
Both men nod to each other. Sesshomaru follows Keiichi into the
temple.
The end: chapter 65.
Prolog: chapter 66. The way home . . .
Kagome's mother looks out of the open kitchen window. ‘Did I just
hear something?'
She puts down the soapy dish and bends over the sink, so she can
hear better.
"FUCK! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!" Inu-yasha's scream comes through
the walls of the well-house.
Mrs. H grabs a towel, to wipe her hands quickly, as she runs to
the door.
"Mom?" Sota calls from his room. But, his mother is already out
fo the house by the time he reaches the top of the stairs. "I
thought I heard Inu-yasha?" he calls to the empty house.
He slowly walks down the stairs . . .
*RING!* the telephone begins to ring.
At the Well house . . .
Mrs. H opens the door.
Sitting on the edge of the well is Inu-yasha. He is literally
covered in blood. In his arms are two small children. They, also,
are covered in blood.
He looks up at Mrs. H. "Help them!" Mrs. h can see an ugly gash
on his face stop bleeding and begin to heal.
She quickly runs down the stairs, "What happened?" She cries.
"Fucking Naraku" Inu-yasha growls out as he lays the two small
children, with surprising gentleness, on the ground by the well.
"He gathered up an army of demons and attacked the village!" Inu-
yasha continues to yell in anger. "These two were playing in the
fields!"
His voice catches, "they gave us a couple of minutes warning,
but." Inu-yasha lashes out and slams his fist on the ground.
The well-house shakes from the force of the blow. A crater forms
. . .
"Goddamned Shippo," Inu-yasha growls out, "he fucking tried to
trick them. And Rin . . . " the sounds of the teeth as he grinds
them together echo in the small house.
His voice changes, into a nearly a whisper, as he says, "She
tried to help him."
Mrs. H, while Inu-yasha is talking, is rolling the children over
and using her towel to clean the blood off the children.
"Shippo? And Rin?" She asks, as her white towel quickly turns'
blood red. Shippo moans at her touch, but Rin doesn't react to
being cleaned.
"Yeah. I was just going to hide them in the well, so I could
attack Naraku without worrying about them, but the damn thing
shifted me here."
Mrs. H looks at him. He is standing by the edge of the well,
gripping Tetsusaiga's hilt.
"Go on, Inu-yasha." She says, "your friends will need you. I can
take care of them."
She stares into his eyes, "And kill the bastard that did this."
She orders in a toneless, hard, voice. The suppressed emotions in
her voice, causes even Inu-yasha to go pale.
Inu-yasha nods, a sharp abrupt nod, and jumps down the well.
"The phone . . . " Sota starts to yell, then, "Inu-yasha?!" he
yells from the open well house door. "Was he just here?"
Mrs. H looks up, "yes! Sota. I need your help! Go to the kitchen
and get Kagome's spare first aid kit and bring it back! And RUN!"
Sota looks down. He can see the blood pooling by the well-house
and the red stains on his mother house dress.
"The phone?" he asks without thinking, through the open door, he
can hear the ringing.
"Ignore it! Get me that kit!" his mother yells.
Sota spins and runs back into the house.
Kagome's mother examines the two injured children.
Shippo is breathing well, and while is he is bleeding profusely,
all the cuts don't seem to be life-threatening. However, there is
a large ugly scar around his neck. ‘His healing powers must have
saved him.' Mrs. h thinks.
Rin, though, is badly hurt. The compound fracture of her left leg
is the most obvious injury, but, blood wells up from her scalp,
and she's not reacting to any touch . . .
Inside the house . . .
"You have called the Higurashi residence." Sota can hear the
answering machine click on in the background as he rushes into
the kitchen.
Sota grabs a chair and slides it, squealing, across the kitchen
floor. He jumps up on it, opens the cabinet and finds the handle
of the first aid kit and pulls it to his chest.
"IF someone is home, please pick up!"
Sota freezes and looks at the phone . . .
Back at the well house.
‘The phone. Who would be calling now . . . ' Mrs. H shakes her
head. ‘Actually, that's a good idea. One of the neighbors is a
nurse and I know that she works nights. So, she'll be home now.'
She places her hand on Rin's brow. ‘She'll need professional
help.'
She frowns, "but, why did they go through the well?" she whispers
. . .
Sota appears at the well-house door. He is holding the first aid
kit in one hand and the phone in the other.
"MOM!" He screams! "Kagome is on the phone!"
End: prolog . . .

Inu-yasha where are you

Anime world.
