The next morning, Kaya woke up with Miroku staring at her face. "AAUUGH! Miroku! What do you want?!" Kaya exclaimed. He took her hand. "Kaya, when you are older, would you want to have my children?" he honestly asked her. Her eyes widened. "your children?! NO!" she said right in his face. Luckily for her, Sango came and wacked Miroku on the back of his head. "Miroku....!" Sango growled. "oh! Heh, heh.....sorry Sango..heh." he said as he slowly backed away from her.
"don't worry about him, Kaya," Sango reassured her. "he's just a dumb ol' pervert."
Back at the base of a tree, Inuyasha sat and thought. Stupid humans. Here I am, sitting her worrying and thinking about our damn daughter and Kagome's just acting like she's fine and dandy with it! I hate it when she does this. If Naraku ever found her he'd use her against us, knowing we'd do anyhting to get her back. Even I admit that. I need to talk to Kagome about this. Its not safe here, eventually Naraku or one of his incarnations are gonna pop up and grab Kaya! I'm going to go and talk to Kagome. He stood up and walked to where Kagome was sitting by Shippo and talking.
"Kagome...," Inuyasha said. She turned to him. "huh? What is it?" she asked. "I need to talk to you-" he told her.Shippo looked at him with a big grin.
"-ALONE." he rudely grabbeld Kagome's hand and took her to a private place.
"ok, listen, I think we should send Kaya back home. I mean obviously she's going to run into trouble sometime." Inuyasha explained. Kagome looked worrily at him. "I don't know. She talked to me yesterday-" Kagome cut off. "what? spit it out." Inuyasha said. "she said she's beggining to remember things. If we give her a bit more time maybe she'll tell us something important. Something we need to know. Maybe about the Shikon Jewels or something." Kagome was right. But still, Kaya was in great danger. "well, maybe you're right but Kaya isn't safe here." Inuyasha stated. "i'm...so worried about her....." Kagome said. She looked down, her bangs were over her eyes. She sounded sad. Inuyasha was about to hug her when they heard Miroku yelling in fear and running away from Kaya. She was swinging her sword at him.
"Kaya! No! Don't be rash!" Miroku said as he ran away from her as fast as he could. "don't you dare touch me like that EVER!" Kaya yelled at him. Inuyasha was blown away at how she jumped just like him. She jumped so far and high. After awhile Kaya decided Miroku wasn't worth the trouble. She stopped and walked over to Kagome and Inuyasha. "mom, dad, i'm going for a little walk around the forest today. I'll be back soon!" she said as she began to jump away. Kagome and Inuyasha felt weird being called 'mom and dad'. "naw, she'll be fine. She's got her sword right?" Inuyasha said to Kagome.
As Kaya walked, she heard strange moaning noises. Soon, she saw a figure standing with Sowl collecters flying around her.
"huh? Who are you?" Kaya asked. The lady walked closer to her.
"I am Kikyo. The priestess, who are you child?"
"my name is Kaya,"
"where are you from?"
"the future."
"who are your parents?"
"Inuyasha and Kagome."
"........!" Kikyo looked at her in surprise.
"so that explains your white hair, yellow eyes and claws."
Kaya nodded. "I am a quarter demon."
Kikyo nodded. "come. We must talk."
They sat on the ground and drank tea. "I didn't know my mother was your reincarnation." Kaya said. Kikyo was silent a moment. "you do resemble her..." Kikyo silently said. "so you once loved my father?" Kaya asked. Kikyo nodded. "but if my mother is your reincarnation, that sorta makes you my mother too." Kaya said. Kikyo looked at her in surprise. "Kaya, you do not know what lies in this land. Great danger, especially for you." Kaya put her tea down. "I don't care. I'm staying here." Kaya demanded. Again Kikyo was silent a moment. "No, Kaya. Inuyasha and Kagome are going to send you back to your time. You do not belong here." Kaya twiddled her thumbs. "but...I live here. I can remember...a bit where my home is...its here in the feudal era..but everyone is older....and Naraku is dead." Kaya silently said. Kikyo stood up. "go back to Inuyasha and Kagome. Now." Kikyo said. Kaya nodded, stood up and jumped away. "if you stay here any longer, Naraku will surely kill you." Kikyo said.
When Kaya arrived back at where everyone was, she rested behind a tree. Unaware of what was coming her way. She closed her eyes and just daydreamed. It was mostly silent, until she felt cold hands touching her cheeks.
Inuyasha and Kagome sat and talked...they heard Kaya's scream. Inuyasha ran towards the sound, only to see Naraku holding his daughter with his thorns in the air. Kagome and the others arrived as well.
"Inuyasha, you came quicker than I expected," Naraku said as he tightened the thorn vines around Kaya.
"let Kaya go...NOW!" Inuyasha said. Naraku grinned. "you do want your daughter back? Well...."
