WARNING: Kikyo is in this chapter. I'm a Kikyo Hater so watch out! But I'm sure you will like it because you guys obviously like Inu/Kag if you're reading this. Besides, it's not like I'm gonna kill her or anything. I don't kill eight year-olds. Even if I hate her with the intensity of a thousand suns. :)

 

 

Chapter 9:The Beginning of the Week and Kinky-ho

InuYasha was greeted at the door by Kagome. “Hey InuYasha.” Kagome said with a smile as he walked inside with his bags in hand.

 

“Hey Kagome, where do I put these?” He asked slightly raising the bags.

 

“Oh, upstairs in my room. Come on, follow me.” Kagome answered leading him up the stairs.

 

InuYasha stopped for a moment. “You're room? Again?” Kagome laughed nervously. “The supposed `Guest Room' is now my grandpa's room. He used to live in a retirement home but he got bored or something and is living with us again. Go figure.” She answered with a shrug and continued up the stairs to her room.

 

InuYasha set his bags on the floor and looked around. After all he'd never really taken the time to do so. A… Ugh… PINK bed Well red is sort of like pink but whatever, a desk against the left wall, on top of a PINK rug, that desk having a rolling chair with a… PINK cushion God, what is this girl's obsession with pink? And yet… What's mine with red? , a purple curtain hanging over her window, and the nightstand with Shippo's tiny bed, also a lamp and alarm clock.

 

InuYasha snickered. Boy, when school starts the little runt's gonna get an ear full. Maybe even a heart attack! He snickered at his thoughts again. “What's so funny InuYasha?” Kagome asked taking a seat on her bed.

 

“Oh nothing.” He replied trying not to start laughing again. “Why am I not sleeping in Sota's room or something?” InuYasha inquired taking a seat next to her on the bed.

 

Kagome laughed. “Come on, we weren't going to make you sleep with a baby. Unless of course, you want to.” InuYasha quickly shook his head. “I was just wondering where I was sleeping is all.”

 

“That's pretty simple. In my bed with me.”

 

InuYasha blushed. Kagome looked at his face and almost started laughing again but held it back. “Why you blushing? We're just friends, are we not?”

 

He quickly turned his head and crossed his arms. “I ain't blushing! And of course we're just friends, stupid.” Kagome giggled behind her hand. “Don't worry my bed's huge. We'll both have enough room.”

 

“Feh. Whatever.” InuYasha said with his blush finally fading.

 

“InuYasha, Kagome, time for bed.” Kagome's mom called up to them. “Alright Mom!” Kagome called back.

 

“Okay, InuYasha bed time.” Kagome said walking to the bath room to get changed and prepared for bed. Just then Shippo came running into the room. He ran directly into InuYasha's leg and fell over. “Hey InuYasha, what you doing here?” Shippo asked rubbing his head. InuYasha grinned evilly. Oh boy, this is going to be a lot more than I thought it would be. “Well Shippo I'm going to be staying here for the next week until my brother comes home.”

 

Shippo slowly started to scoot away from InuYasha with a distressed sweatdrop. “B-B-B-But that means…” InuYasha's grin widened. “Yup. I'm going to be able to torture you for a whole week. Isn't that gonna be fun?” He said bending over and patting Shippo's head.

 

Kagome came back from the bathroom dressed in a light green top and dark green pajama bottoms with white polka dots. “Okay InuYasha, your turn for the bathroom.”

 

“Alright.” He replied while digging in his bags to find the things he'd need to get ready for bed. Then he made his way to the bathroom.

 

When InuYasha returned he was wearing a red pajama top and bottoms. He yawned and stretched once he got in the room. “God, I'm tired.” InuYasha stated with a sleepy smile.

 

Kagome giggled. “Alright, then let's go to bed.” She said scooting over to the other side of the bed so he'd have room. “Oh yeah, can you turn off the lights while you're up please?”

 

“Sure.” InuYasha turned off the lights and walked to the bed. As InuYasha was getting in Shippo was snuggling comfortably in his own bed. “Goodnight Kagome.” Shippo quietly said before he drifted off to sleep. InuYasha sighed. Oh sure, no goodnight for me JUST because I scared the living hell out of him by telling him I'd torture him this week. He thought to himself sarcastically.

 

“Goodnight Shippo. `Night InuYasha.” Kagome said with a sleepy smile.

 

“Goodnight Kagome.” InuYasha replied with a smile of his own.

 

InuYasha stayed awake though. He looked over at the now sleeping Kagome and smiled. There was that peaceful look of hers again. Though, one strand of hair was in the way of her face. InuYasha used one of his claws to gently draw the hair behind her ear. And before he knew it, he had drifted off into a peaceful sleep as well.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

 

“AHHHH!” InuYasha screamed as he rolled of the bed with a thud.

 

This of course sent Kagome and Shippo into a fit of screams. Kagome snapped out of it after a minute and turned the alarm clock off. “Stupid… Alarm clock… Gonna… ERG.” InuYasha mumbled as he got up off the floor. And I thought Shippo was going to have a heart attack. He thought putting a hand over his fast thumping heart.

 

Kagome laughed. “What a wakeup call, huh?” She asked getting out of bed and stretching. Shippo looked over at Kagome confused. “What that Kagome? Why you need get up?”

 

Kagome rubbed the back of her head. She had totally forgotten to tell him about school. “Well Shippo, InuYasha and I have to go to school today. And for the rest of the week. Well, the end of the week as in Friday.”

 

Shippo looked sad. “What school? How long you be gone?”

 

Kagome sighed. She didn't want to make him sad. “Well school is a place where you learn things that you need to know when you're a grown-up. And we'll be gone from eight o'clock to three o'clock in the afternoon.” Shippo frowned. “What I do `til then?”

 

“You can help Mom around the house, play with Buyo and Sota, and you can play with my toys if you want.” Kagome suggested. Shippo perked up. “I can play with your toys?” She smiled. “Yes, you can always play with any toy of mine that you want.” Shippo hopped into Kagome's arms and hugged her. “Thanks Kagome! But I will miss you.” He said with a small smile.

 

Kagome hugged back. “I know. I'll miss you too.”

 

“Kagome, if you don't hurry up I'll get to the bathroom before you.” InuYasha teased as he went through his bags again, this time to get the things he'd need for school. Kagome sighed. “Shippo, why don't you go downstairs and get breakfast, okay? InuYasha and I will be down in a little bit.”

 

Now InuYasha was making his way out of the room and into the hall. He was taking all of the time in the world to do it too. “Kagome, I'm walking down the hall.” InuYasha said in his spookiest voice. Kagome quickly grabbed her things and dashed past InuYasha and into the bathroom. It was a law in her house that she was the first one to use the bathroom.

 

InuYasha snapped his fingers. “Aw. Darn. You beat me.” He stated teasing again. Shippo ran past InuYasha. Too bad InuYasha caught him by the tail before he fully passed. He lifted Shippo so he was looking straight into his face. “Oh, hey there Shippo.” He smiled. “Beautiful day isn't it?”

 

Shippo was starting to get really nervous. InuYasha said that he'd torture him. “Um… Can you let me go? Pwease?” Shippo make his big puppy eyes. He didn't want to get tortured. It didn't sound all too pleasant. InuYasha's smile turned evil. “Okay.” With that he threw Shippo down the stairs and he landed flat on his face. Shippo got up and ran to the breakfast table as fast as he could. InuYasha laughed. That was SO fun!

 

Kagome emerged from the bathroom in her school uniform totally in the dark about what just happened. “What's so funny InuYasha?” He stopped laughing. “Uh… Good. You're done, I'm going in now.” InuYasha recovered gathering his things off the floor and walking into the bathroom. Geez. What's gotten into him today? She thought as she walked down stairs to the breakfast table.

The day went quite well. That is until InuYasha encountered her for the first time.

 

InuYasha was walking down the hall trying to find Kagome so he could take her to P.E. when he saw Kagome and another girl talking to each other. At first glance it would look like they were just having a conversation but if you looked closely, and had really good hearing, you'd know they were fighting.

 

“Well, well, well. If it isn't Kagome Higurashi, the supposed `Miko'.” Said a girl with long black hair, a white shirt, and red pants on.

 

“Well if it isn't Kikyo the ice queen. Come to insult me again I see.”

 

Kikyo laughed. “Oh, Higurashi, you know exactly how to piss me off as always. I thought you were the happy-fun-time princess.”

 

“I guess you're right about one thing. I am happy. Only not when you're around.” Kagome snapped back.

 

“Don't you know? I act the way a miko's supposed to. Though, you act all happy and carefree. You're the most pathetic excuse for a miko I've ever seen.”

 

“Oh yeah? Well I didn't know that you had to be so emotionless, snobby, and act like you've got a stick up your butt all the time to be a miko.” Kagome countered. That was apparently the straw that broke the camel's back because at that Kikyo pushed Kagome, hard. She got pushed into the wall and hit her head, knocking her out. Kikyo hovered over Kagome on the ground.

 

She laughed. “You little bitch. You deserved that.” InuYasha had been enjoying the show until that happened. He liked seeing Kagome talk back to someone like that but when she got hurt he came running up to her. It had all happened so fast. He hadn't been expecting that to happen at all.

 

“Kagome!” He yelled slightly lifting her head off of the ground. He glared up at Kikyo with disgust. “What the hell's wrong with you?!” He screamed at her.

 

“Oh, you're cute. Wanna do something sometime?” Kikyo asked as she reached for one of his ears. InuYasha grabbed her wrist and dragged her so she was close to his face. He grinned. “What I want you to do… IS LEAVE KAGOME ALONE! Or else you'll regret it.” He growled and pushed her down on her butt. Then InuYasha picked Kagome up and took her to the nurse's office. Leaving Kikyo pouting on her ass in the hallway. Other kids walking in the hall took one glance at her and laughed. She was the meanest girl in school after all and few, if any, people liked her.

 

“Mrs. Kuyo!” InuYasha yelled once he was inside the nurse's office.

 

“What is it dear?” Mrs. Kuyo asked concerned until she saw Kagome in his arms and knew the answer. “InuYasha put Kagome on the table there please.” She said making her way over from her desk. “What happened to her?” The nurse asked looking at the bump on Kagome's head.

 

InuYasha sighed with a low growl at his own stupidity. “Kikyo pushed her into a wall.”

 

“Oh my… Poor Kagome. She'll be fine but she just has to wake up first.” Mrs. Kuyo was probably one of the only teachers (even if she was the nurse) in the entire school that actually liked InuYasha. She knew every student by name, unless they'd never been to her office before but no one had not been to the nurse's office at least once.

 

“Can I wait with her until she wakes up?” InuYasha questioned looking up at her.

 

Mrs. Kuyo smiled. “Yes, you can. Would you like me to call your teachers and tell them that you'll be gone until then, Hun?”

 

InuYasha gave a small smile back. “Yeah, I'd like that.”

 

She nodded. “Alright.” Then she went to her phone and dialed the numbers of InuYasha's teacher's classrooms.

Kagome finally began to stir after about an hour. “Uh… My head… InuYasha? Where am I?” She asked sitting up and taking in her new surroundings. InuYasha smiled at her. “You're in the nurse's office. I'm glad you're finally awake.”

 

InuYasha's expression got serious. “Kagome, why didn't you tell me about Kikyo? You said `Come to insult me AGAIN' has she done this to you before?” Kagome frowned and looked down at her feet now dangling over the edge of the table. “Yeah, but I always thought that I could handle it. Throwing back insults was easy enough but when it came to anything physical… I was totally outmatched.”

 

“She's a cheeky bitch, ne?” That got a laugh out of her like he had been hoping for. “You know, some kids call her Kinky-ho although I have no idea what it means, it sounds really funny.” Kagome added with a smile.

 

InuYasha started laughing now. “Oh god, that's hilarious! I can totally see why they call her that!” He said remembering when she tried to pick him up even after she had seen how concerned he was for Kagome's safety.

 

“Do you want to go back to class now?” Kagome questioned.

 

“Aw. Do we have to?” InuYasha whined playfully. Kagome giggled. “Yeah, I don't want to get in trouble for turning my homework in late or anything.” InuYasha chuckled as Kagome pulled him out of the room by the hand. “You're such a goody-two-shoes.”
