::Summery:: Kagome and Inu-yasha get trapped together in modern day Japan after a snow storm, from their romance blooms at the coming of Christmas.

----------------------------------

Kagome smiled as she leaned her chin on her arm and gazed out of her living room window at the sparkling new snow that blanketed over the scenery. Snow drifted down from the sky, she loved days like this, with untouched snow covering the ground and trees, giving the appearance of a winter wonder land.

She was alone in her house, her mother, grandfather, and little brother had left for a couple of days to visit one of her grandfather's old friends. She would have gone, but that would have included her having to skip going to the 'Warring States' period with Inu-yasha; and she knew that if she would have done that then Inu-yasha would come barreling up the well and wait until she got home to chew her out for it.

Suddenly the snow started to drop from the sky faster and with bigger flakes… Frowning she lifted herself out of her comfortable position on the floor and turned herself towards her television and switched it onto a weather station.

"… Today's weather report will give some people the cold shoulder Bob!" The spunky female weather woman attempted to joke with a rather stupid looking fake smile and laugh, "A rather nasty looking snow storm is heading for the Tokyo area, so stay indoors and bundle up in a heavy blanket because this is going to be a whopper!" The woman paused to laugh then continued in an annoyingly happy tone, "The storm will likely stand for a couple of days, so airports will be shutting down until further notice-" the woman stopped abruptly then grew serious and angry, "Wait a second! The airports will be shut-down!?!" She snarled, "But my parents will be arriving the day after tomorrow for Christmas!"

Kagome frowned and looked outside of her window again and grimaced, the snow had gained a couple of inches since she had turned on the TV. 'The airports are shut down…' she mused, 'That means my family won't be here for Christmas.' Tears started falling from her eyes as the realization dawned on her, 'I'll be alone for Christmas!' she thought.

Gnawing her bottom lip again she wondered about going to back to Inu-yasha's period. At least she'd be able to give everyone their presents and not be alone for the holidays. She smiled a bit, and started packing her things until she glanced out the window again and realized that since the ground had layers of snow in her time, it was probably the same in that time.

Sighing again she replaced the gifts that she had placed within her backpack back under the glowing Christmas tree. Silent tears started running down her cheeks as she pictured the cold and lonely Christmas day she would have. "It's just fair!" she whispered quietly.

She sighed and went to retrieve her mug of hot coco, hoping that it would lift her spirits up. She lifted the cup to her lips and to a large swallow, forgetting about the heat, and brunt her mouth. Startled she spit it out and spilled it on to two blankets that she had gotten from her mothers and little brothers room. Hot chocolate now covered the blankets and was starting to seep threw to the cream colored rug.

With a cruse she bent down and hurriedly began to lift the sodden blankets off the floor before the dark brown liquid could get to the floor. Sighing she threw them into the dirty laundry and went to gather up her blanket. Great, now she only had one blanket because the rest were in her grandfather's room, and his door was locked so that no 'Evil Spirits' could steal his spells and prayers. "Damn."

Inu-yasha was growling as he leapt out of the well and onto the cold hard, dirt ground within the shrine. The village was snowed over and everyone had packed up and went over to the Kiada's shrine for warmth. Once all the villagers were packed in Inu-yasha had been banished to the outside so that there'd be enough room for everyone to sleep. He had been only to happy to go, he couldn't stand the older villagers who kept staring at him like he was some sort of monster.

He had managed to withstand the cold for about an hour before he got fed up with everything and took off to Kagome's so that he could get warm. Tugging threw snow that went up to his waist hadn't helped his temper and now, as he opened the shrines door, he noticed that he'd have to walk threw snow again… With a growl he thought, 'At least it's only up to my knees here'.

Kagome sat on her overstuffed couch dejectedly. She had already cried her eyes out at the thought of being alone for days while at least even Inu-yasha would have company. She had turned the TV off because every channel she had flipped threw had on either happy couples celebrating Christmas together, or large groups of friend getting into all kinds of trouble looking for the meaning of Christmas.

Heaving a miserable sigh she stood up to get ready for bed when she head the door open and then slam shut. Eyes brightening she ran to entryway to greet her family, but came up short when she noticed Inu-yasha's shivering form. "Inu-yasha?"

Kagome had ushered Inu-yasha inside her kitchen, where she had demanded that he tell her why he was there. "Kaede had the whole village smashed inside her house. After a while I decided that I'd rather risk walking to your time then sleeping outside in the snow." He explained, still in his kimono.

Kagome shook her head, "How long were you standing out there in the cold, Inu-yasha?" she asked wide-eyed, growing angrier and angrier with the old woman.

"About an hour or so." He answered, lifting the steaming mug of hot chocolate that Kagome had given him to his lips and gingerly tasted it, finding it to his liking he smiled and took a larger sip.

"AN HOUR?!?" she screamed at him, causing him to jump, "Your stubborn stood out in the cold for an hour before you decided to come over here?" she snapped, "Stay here." She demanded and left to retrieve a thermometer from her bathroom.

Once again in the kitchen she stood infront of the drenched dog demon and ordered him to open his mouth. Growling Inu-yasha opened his mouth to yell at her, "Mumph-" she stuck the strange plastic object inside his mouth and kept it there until it started beeping.

She lifted it up to her face so that she could read the numbers, "Hum…" she frowned and looked back at him, "It reads at a little over a hundred… Is that normal for a demon?" she asked, unsure.

Inu-yasha just shrugged and grabbed for the thermometer, "What is this thing?" he asked, studying the strange plastic stick, "Why did you stick it in my mouth?"

Kagome smiled and shook her head, "It's a thermometer, it's used to take a bodies tempter, or our body heat, to make sure it's at the normal 98.8, and you have to put it in your mouth because that's where you take you tempter." She explained, "You see this thin end?" she asked, pointing it out just in case he didn't, "You stick that part in your mouth and you read the tempter from this end." She pointed to the thicker end of the stick.

Inu-yasha held it up closer to his eyes to inspect it, then looked up at her, "Can I take your tempter?" he asked, wanting to try out Kagome's magical thermometer.

Kagome smiled gently and shook her head… He looked positively adorable, his eyes pleading and his mouth in a slight smile… She rolled her eyes, "Oh no, don't even do that to me, dog boy." She warned.

He frowned, "Do what?" he asked, confused.

She shook her head, "The puppy dog face!"

Inu-yasha's ears went back and his frowned deepened, "The puppy dog face?" he asked, even more confused, "What's a puppy dog face?"

Kagome blinked, "It's when you try your hardest to look innocent and cute when you want to either do something, get something, or if you had already done something that you don't want to get into trouble for." She explained

"Oh." He nodded and stored this newfound information in his brain for future use.

Sighing Kagome leaned closer to Inu-yasha's face, "Well, you don't seem sick… How do you feel?" she asked, taking her hand and pressing it to his forehead lightly.

He thought about it for a moment. To tell the truth he throat felt kind of itchy and his shoulders and upper arms were starting to hurt as well. "Fine." He answered.

She frowned and looked into his eyes, "Really?" she asked, "You wouldn't lie to me would you?"

Before he could answer a loud sound rang threw out the house, sounding close to thunder, "What was that?" he asked, alert for any danger that may have befallen them.

Kagome frowned and stood up, "I hope that isn't what I think it is." She mummerd to herself as she turned from the kitchen and to a door that led down to her basement. She flipped on the light and carefully stepped down the steep stairs with Inu-yasha following her closely.

She walked over to her gas tank and looked underneath it… She sighed with relief, it was still working… but if it hadn't been the gas tank then what… She groaned. "No way… Not even our luck would be that bad!" she groaned, but ran up stairs to see if the heater had stopped working… It had.

"What's wrong?" Inu-yasha asked her as she started sinking to the ground.

Looking up at him she almost thought she saw concern flash in his eyes before they again closed off from her. With a tired grin she answered, "The heat's off… We have wood in the shrine, but it's to deep for me to get it."

Inu-yasha lifted one of his eyebrows, "So? I'll just get it for you." He told her.

Kagome looked at him doubtfully, "With out shoes?" she asked pointedly, looking down at his bare feet, "Do you want to get sick? If below freezing out there and you want to carry back wood without shoes?"

He looked down at his feet, shrugged and turned to retrieve the wood. "Inu-yasha!" Kagome snapped, "What do you think you're doing?" she asked, her tone changing from snapping to sweet within seconds.

He frowned at her, "Um… Going to get you wood?" he asked her. Eyeing her mouth pensively, 'She's going to say it…'

She growled, "Do you not listen to a word I say?" she paused for him to answer, after a moment of silence she yelled, "SIT!"

At once Inu-yasha hurled to the floor. Sitting up after a while he noticed that he had almost successfully dented the floor; he could see his forehead imprinted on the hard wood… Looking at Kagome's face he decided not to tell her that. "What was that for, bitch!?" he yelled at her, "Do you want to be cold?" he tossed his white main behind him as he stood again, "Try that again, and all hell will break lose." He threatened.

Before she could answer he had jumped up and ran out the living room door to the outside. Five minutes a soaking wet Inu-yasha returned with an armload of wood, dropped them off by the fireplace, then went outside to get another load. When he entered the house again Kagome stood in the middle of the living room, glaring daggers into the back of his head as he leaned over to make a fire.

"You stupid, overbearing, jack assed, mother-" she stopped suddenly as she got a good look at his once tanned flesh, "You're blue!" she yelped, "Oh crap! Get out of your wet clothes now." He ordered her, shoving her finger to the back of his head to press her point.

Growling he spun around to chew her out for it, but suddenly the floor started tilting up at him and the outside of his eyesight started to fade away in what doctors like to call 'tunnel vision', "Kagome?" he asked before he fainted.

Kagome didn't have any of her school textbooks with her because she had thought that since it was Christmas vacation she wouldn't need them… She now wished that she could travel back to the day before and order herself to keep those books.

She sighed, 'Oh well… You watch soap operas. People are always doing something idiotic, such as hypothermia. She knew that she had to take his clothes off, cover him in a warm blanket, and rub his body to increase his blood circulation.

She ran to get her blanket from her room because Inu-yasha was to heave for her to carry, then brought it back down and set it aside. She bit her lip and then started removing his clothing, trying not to peek. She had successfully pulled his shirt off to reveal his relaxed arms, stomach, and chest… Which were not bulky, but toned… Delicious…

She shook her head, and started yelling at herself mentally as she closed her eyes and pulled his pants down his legs and off of him. Quickly throwing the blanket over his still from she opened her eyes and gazed down into his face… A pillow! She'd forgotten a pillow. She ran back up the stairs again.

Inu-yasha's eyes opened slightly, noticing that he was cocooned within a soft cream-colored blanket that smelled of lavender and roses. Blinking he then realized that he was nude under the blanket save for his underwear.

He heard the stairs creek as somebody walked down them and quickly shut his eyes again not really knowing why. Shortly afterwards he felt Kagome lean over him and took that chance to breath in her sent deeply before she sat back up. After that she lifted his head and slid the pillow under; "You are way to stubborn for your own good." She seethed, "Going out there with no shoes on like you're some kind of super half demon!" she smacked his shoulder, "Stupid."

"I'm no-ot s-stubborn" he defended himself, "W-wha'd ya do with my clothes, woman?" he tried to snapped, but it came out more like a whine.

Kagome smiled down at him, "They're hanging up by your fire… I know that you don't like them out of your reach." She soothed gently as she smoothed his hair from his face. "Are you feeling any warmer?" she asked.

Inu-yasha shook his head, "Yeah." He stopped and frowned, "Er… I mean no." he denied, his lips bluer then before as he began to sweat.

Kagome's eyes widened, "Inu-yasha! I think you have a fervor, can you get up onto the couch?" she asked him worriedly.

He nodded and sat up, forgetting about his lack of clothing as well as the blanket as he stumbled the few short feet to the couch and fell face down onto it. She quickly got up and rolled him to where his back was lying against the cushions and slipped the pillow under his head again and then covered him with the blanket.

"I'll be right back, I'm going to make you some soup." She told him as she sat up to head for the kitchen, but before she could even make two steps away from him his arm shot up and grabbed her wrist.

"Nooo." He slurred, "Stay." He pulled her closer to the couch.

"I need to make you some soup." Kagome tried to jerk her hand from his grasp, "You need to let me go."

Inu-yasha's eyes popped open when she said that and he shook his head, "No!" he shouted and pulled her to him and then grabbed her waist and pulled her down next to him, "Stay." He repeated and laid his head on her bosom, "Jus for a li'l while…" he snuggled against her.

Kagome lied there stiffly, then tried to pull away, "Inu-yasha, I'll be right back, I need to make you some soup to eat." She explained.

He shook his head, "No soup." He grip tightened, "Stay."

She blinked a couple of times then tried again, "Well, if you don't want soup then I can make you something else to eat." She offered, trying to pry his steel like arms from around her body.

"NO!" he shouted and nuzzled her neck.

She bit her lip, "Inu-yasha, stop that." She squeaked out, his nuzzling causing strange sensations to course threw her entire body and then settle themselves into her abdomen. He shook his head again and started nibbling her neck lightly.

She gasped and shuttered, "Inu-yasha! Stop now!" she pleaded and tried again to slide away from him. Her vision started to blur and the world started to spin crazily around her.

Inu-yasha stopped for a moment, "Why?" he asked her sourly.

"Because this isn't right." She answered, blinking rapidly in attempt to straighten out her world, "You're sick and don't know what you're doing."

He snorted and licked her neck with the tip of his tongue, "Is right." He said, "Feelz good." He took one of his hands away from her middle and massaged her breast.

Gasping she stifled a moan, "Stop! Inu-yasha, stop now."

Finally he sighed and released her, "Fine." He grumbled, his eyes seem glazed, "Kizz."

She frowned at him as she removed herself from his side and onto the floor, "What?" she asked, not understanding him.

He tilted his head, "Kizz." He repeated himself, and before she knew what was happening he had placed a hand behind her neck and lowered her down to his. Her lips touched his lightly at first, then he applied more pressure and deepened the kiss. His tongue licked her lips lightly, silently asking for admission to her mouth.

Almost against her wish her lips opened to receive his caressing tongue and shyly slipped hers into his. He groaned and wrapped his other arm around her waist and her hands gently held his arms for support.

Finally, minutes later, he released her and smiled sweetly, "Tank you." He slurred, brushing his knuckles against her flushed cheek, "Nice." He picked up her hand and held it to his face, "Kagome?" he asked.

She closed her eyes, trying to regain her composure, "Hum?"

"Will you stay with me?"

Her eyes shot open and she looked down to his intense golden gaze, "Stay with you?" repeated him, he nodded, waiting quietly for her answer, "Of course I'll stay with you while you're sick." She answered, "I'm going to make you some ramen now… I'll be back in a few minutes, alright?"

He shook his head and frowned, "That'z not what I asked." His grasp on her hand softened and she slipped her hand out, "I'll be right back, Inu-yasha." She stood and practically ran out the door, leaving behind a sick and confused silver haired man on her couch.

~*~ ~*~ ~*~

Two hours later Kagome's house started getting colder and colder from the lack of heat and goose bumps started covering her arms. Her teeth chattered as she hovered over Inu-yasha to make sure he stayed on the couch. He had already tried to get up two times, once to go 'relieve himself' and the second because Kagome had burned herself in the kitchen and yelped.

She was growing tired, she wasn't sure if it was because of lack of sleep, or because of the cold, but it didn't matter either way because one, she had to take care of Inu-yasha, and two, the only useable blanket in the house was now wrapped around his shaking body. She sighed and stood up to get the creek out of her back.

Her movement woke the half demon from his slumber. "Kagome? What are you doing?" he asked curiously, barely even awake.

She looked down at him and smiled, "Just stretching, go back to sleep, Inu-yasha." She smoothed his hair and sat back down with her back against the couch, "I'm not going anywhere." She comforted as she laid her head against the couches arm.

Inu-yasha snorted sleepily, "Of course you're not going anywhere, there's no where to go." He reminded her, he smothered a large yawn with the back of his hand.

She turned and raised an eyebrow, "Feeling better?" She asked, then tried to stifle a large yawn herself.

He nodded, "Yeah, I feel better… Thanks." He added. He yawned again (I just love his yawns… Their so sexy… They go right up there with his purring!) and scooted over, "Here, get in." he offered her.

She shook her head, "No, I don't think so."

He rolled his eyes, "Look, you're fully dressed. It's not like I'm going to try and rape you." He snorted, "Get under the blanket."

She hesitated, then stood and slid in next to him. Her yawned again, "Alright, Inu-yasha… Goodnight." She murmured, and then fell asleep almost instantly.

Inu-yasha leaned up and gazed into her sleeping features; her mouth hung slightly open and her face relaxed. A look of total innocence seemed to cover her face as she snuggled in, deeper to the cushions.

He lifted a hand and gently brushed away some strands of hair from her face and laid back down next to her. She instantly turned to face him and tangled her legs with his and slipped her arms around him, holding him as close as she could. He rested his chin atop her head and wrapped his arms around her, then closed his eyes and returned to sleep.
