AN: Another Inu-yasha fic. Yep! Well anyways I'm gonna try and be a little serious in this one. I don't really have a summary for it just that I was sitting in my room looking out my window bored to death and this story just came to me. But if you guys need one then: Kagome Kinomoto just recently lost her husband in a accident, and now someone is trying to kill her. Inu-yasha is a big time lawyer who just happens to be Kagome's lawyer. Now they must work together to find out who is after Kagome and not try and kill each other before the enemy does. What could happen with in the month that Kagome moves in with Inu-yasha for her safety? Inu-yasha/Kagome with slight Sango/Miroku and Rin/Sesshoumaru. So I hope you guys like it and it would be nice if people leave reviews. If you are familiar with my stories then you already know my "Dumb Code" so I'm not going to put it up because it's a waste of typing.

"I stood in front of the grave of the man I have loved for who knows how long. I think in the back of my mind I knew it was always just never really acknowledged it. My heart felt sore and broken, my eyes wouldn't even water for I have run out of tears. I looked down at the coffin and wondered was I to lead this life alone? He had left me and now I am forever alone with on one to laugh with no one to make me cry with happiness or angry. I had no one at all"
"Mrs. Kinomoto I am so sorry that you have lost Mr. Kinomoto" said a known friend of the family though everyone acted as though they were strangers, just meeting and saying with formalities their names. "Yes thank you for coming out today" she said her voice cracking. "Oh Kagome we just heard sweet heart I am so sorry" said a young woman of 25 as she pulled her friend into a hug. "What am I going to do now Asuka?" asked Kagome holding her friend close. "Darling I really don't know, but I can assure that things will be alright" said the woman called Asuka. Being married to a rich man didn't leave much room to make good friends, but once in a while you came across some that you could trust not to steal your husband away, or not to kill you. She had met Asuka Li at a society party with her late husband and they have been of best of friends. She being only 22 needed a friend she could trust.
"Mrs. Kinomoto" said someone from behind the hugging couple. [AN: When I say couple I mean it Yuri free people] Asuka pulled away and looked towards the man dressed in the gray business suite, his long hair tied behind him and a pair of thin-framed glasses on his nose. Asuka had to admit he was strikingly handsome, but she didn't find this the right time to hit on a sexy guy who showed at the funeral. "Kagome darling" said Asuka. Kagome looked up at the man with question. "I am Inu-yasha Takagi your attorney," He said. Kagome nodded softly as she took his extended hand and shook it. He nodded. "I know this is probably the worst time to talk to you about your husbands will but I have no choice but to" started Inu-yasha. "Yes I understand" she said keeping her eyes low. "Mr. Takagi if it isn't to much trouble can't this wait till the end of the funeral?" asked Asuka. Inu-yasha looked towards her and nodded. "Very well" he said and walked into the back seat of the hall where the speeches were given. Kagome saw the irritated looked on her attorney's face but she was grateful nonetheless that he actually let her finish the funeral, which was another 2 hours.
It was her turn to speak of the man in the wooden box. Kagome quietly walked up the stairs to the small stage. "Good morning everyone, first of all I would like to thank you for showing up for Seijuurou's funeral. I...I can't explain how it happened...but...I'm sorry. I'm sorry that he isn't here, I wish it was me that was in the accident I wish I was the in the box because I can't imagine life with out him. I have lost all the color to my world. He was my strength, my weakness, and my wall. I just hope I was all that for him, I hope when he passed...he was happy at some level knowing what he had. I did love him to no limits and I wish him well I just also wished that he saw that he left me behind all alone" said Kagome with a broken voice as tears ran down her face. Inu-yasha was listening to the broken widow when something caught this eyes. He got up slowly and walked along the wall of the hall. "I'm sorry" she whispered. The people sitting dressed in black nodded and showed their sympathy for her. "I just want to let him know that no matter what I will always carry him with me" she said. The people whispered a few things. "I love-" Kagome cut off by a sudden yell. "watch out" she heard before she felt herself being pushed out of the way of the falling ornament. When she looked up she found herself sheltered beneath her attorney, who looked like he could kill right then and there. The people panicked and yelled as someone fired a gunshot.
When he finally did look down he saw the fear in her eyes. She stared up at the golden orbs of his eyes and found herself slowly calm down and lose conciseness of the world around her. "Just fucken great" said Inu-yasha when he checked for her pulse. *Something tells me I'm in for a VERY long case.* thought Inu-yasha. He slowly picked her up and stood. "Oh my god Kagome!" said Asuka running towards Inu-yasha. "Don't worry she just fainted from shock that's all" said Inu-yasha. "but...oh the poor darling!" said Asuka leaning on Inu-yasha. he found the sudden urge to yell 'move bitch your friend is enough I don't need you on me too!' but he held back. "Miss can you please umm move?" he asked as he tried to walk past her. Asuka nodded and moved out of the way. He sighed and pulled out his cell phone. "Hey Kaazan beautiful news, someone is trying to kill my client" said Inu-yasha.
She woke to stare up once again at those golden eyes. "Where am I?" she asked. "In General Hospital" said Inu-yasha. "Mrs. Kinomoto I hope you are feeling better" said another voice. She turned her head and found another man sitting on the chair beside her bed, he was in a black suit with a dark purple shirt on. "I am Miroku Kaazan I work for the FBI" he said extending a hand. "You dumb ass she has a IV stuck to her hand like she could shake hands with you" said Inu-yasha. Miroku had an irritated look on his face. "I'm sure you know the big mouth over there is unfortunately your attorney. Inu-yasha mumbled a few things then looked towards the door. "What happened?" asked Kagome. "Well the easiest and simple way to put it is that you were almost killed by someone" said Miroku. Kagome heard Inu-yasha mumble a no shit then turned towards them again. "When is Sango coming in?" asked Inu-yasha. "Sorry I'm late boys" said a woman walking in. Kagome looked at her serious face look at the two men either side of her. "So this is why you left work in such a rush" said the woman looking at Kagome. "Sango chill would you, let's get down to business I have other things that I have to do you know" said Inu-yasha. Sango smirked. "Oh something tells me that you're going to like this" said Sango. "Mrs. Kinomoto I am Sango Taijiya the head of the law firm and also a member of the FBI" said Sango. Kagome nodded. "Looks as if though your husband's death wasn't after all an accident, it was planned, and now someone is trying to kill you" said Sango. Kagome found her throat dry and fear striked her chest. "for your protection we will have an officer at your service at all times, and of course you will be protected no matter what" said Sango.
Inu-yasha watched as her face took in all that Sango explained for the past hour, and the more she understood the more she feared. He had to admit that she was looker, he didn't really take notice at the funeral because well dead people just tend to mess with him, like coming back to get revenge and all that. He stared at her gray blue eyes and found that they went perfectly with her features. "Inu-yasha" stated Sango. "Yeah" he said turning his head towards the woman some of the guys at HQ would call a hard bitch to bang. "Here is the icing on the cake, Inu-yasha you are the officer that will keep Mrs. Kinomoto's safety at hand, from now on you will be Kagome Higurashi your maiden name and your single no longer married" said Sango. Kagome nodded looking at her hands. "Inu-yasha she will move in with you" said Sango. "WHAT?!" both Inu-yasha and Kagome.
