InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Lay with Me ❯ Lay with Me ( Chapter 1 )
Lay with Me
Kagome closed her text book and shut off the lamp on her desk. "Well, that's it for me, InuYasha. I'm finally all caught up."
He turned from the window to face her. "Does that mean we can go back tomorrow?"
"If you like," she said. She yawned and stretched. "Time for bed."
InuYasha nodded. He sat down cross-legged on the floor as Kagome pushed the chair out from her desk and made the five-foot journey to her bed. She was already in her nightshirt. He watched her as she fluffed her pillow, pulled back the covers and climbed in.
"Kagome?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think your family likes me?"
She laughed to herself. "What a silly question. If they didn't like you, do you think they'd still let you come around?"
"I dunno," he said.
"They like you," she said. "Especially Sota. You're his hero."
He scoffed. "He's just a kid; he doesn't know any better."
"He knows what he likes," she said. "And so do I."
He grumbled uncomfortably, his cheeks going slightly red. "You talk more trash than anyone I know."
"Do I, now?" she asked.
He turned his attention from her to her closed bedroom door. "Is this all right?" he asked. "Me staying here like this?"
She yawned and stretched out in her bed. "Why wouldn't it be? It's not as if no one
knows you're here. And my family knows what a good girl I am."
He laughed to himself.
"Are you comfortable on the floor?" she asked. "I mean, I know you're used to the floor and everything, but--"
"I'm fine," he cut her off quickly.
"Well," she said, "I heard it's gonna be a cold night."
"I'm fine," he repeated.
"It's okay if you wanna sleep with me," she said. "I mean, sleep in the bed with me."
He looked at her. She turned a slight shade of scarlet.
He shook his head. "No. I'm fine."
"I don't want you catching cold," she said. "Why don't you just climb on in here? It's not as if anything's gonna happen. I promise to keep both hands above the covers."
He smiled and shook his head again. "I'm fine on the floor, thanks."
She sat up suddenly. "Will you just get in bed, already? There's no sense in you freezing on the floor when there's room for two up here."
"Kagome . . ."
"Do I have to beg?" she asked. She raised an eyebrow and gave him a sly expression. "Do you want me to beg?"
He turned bright red.
"It'll be fine," she said. In a quieter tone she added, "Don't you think it's time we shared a bed together?" She held his gaze for a moment, then his eyes fell to the floor. "C'mon, InuYasha. Where's the harm?"
He sighed and pushed himself to his feet. "Fine."
She pulled back the covers and patted the spot next to her. "You'll see," she said. "It'll be fine."
He leaned his sword against her desk then slipped between the sheets with her.
"See," she said, "isn't this better?"
"If you say so." He laid back and pulled the covers up to his chin.
She settled in beside him, resting her head on his shoulder.
He shifted slightly, then accepted the additional weight on his body. The smell of her hair permeated his nostrils.
"Whatta you think the others are doing?" she asked.
"Probably making a nuisance of themselves."
When she laughed it sent a slight tremor through his body. "But, seriously," she said. "Whatta you think they're doing right now?"
"Well," he cleared his throat, "if I know Shippo, he's probably annoying Kaede with more of his scribbling. And if I know Miroku, he's trying to touch Sango's butt."
She laughed again. A sweet and low laugh, gentle and warm. "What a pervert he is," she said.
"Yeah," he agreed.
"It's a good thing we're nothing like that," she said.
"Yeah."
"I mean, the two of us in bed together. Alone, behind closed doors, in the middle of the night . . . It's a good thing we're such decent people."
"Yeah," he nodded.
"Not like Miroku, at all."
"Yeah," he repeated.
She yawned and snuggled a little closer to him.
"Kagome?"
"Hmm?"
He cleared his throat. "You're a . . . you're stroking my chest."
She looked surprised. "Am I? I hadn't realized." She yawned again. "Guess I'm just used to a pillow being there."
"You sound tired," he said.
"A little," she said. "It was kind of a long day."
He nodded. "Uh, Kagome?"
"Yeah?"
"You're a . . . you're still doing it."
"Oh!" She pulled her hand away. "Sorry. I just don't know what to do with my hands with you here."
"I can go back on the floor," he said.
"No," she said. "It's fine; I'll adjust." She rested the hand on her side.
"Are you really comfortable like that?" he asked.
"Perfectly fine." She closed her eyes and breathed softly on his neck.
They were quiet for awhile, not a sound to be heard. Just breathing. The sound of his breath co-mingling with hers.
He glanced down at her. She had such a peaceful face. So tranquil and serene, as if nothing could disturb her from her rest. Her body at his side felt so warm, so delicate, her breath blowing sweetly against his skin. She was so trusting, so caring, so . . . beautiful.
He shook the thoughts from his head. What was wrong with him? What was he thinking?
He glanced down at her again. Yes. What was he thinking? He had to get some sleep, like she was. If she could be so calm about this, so could he.
"InuYasha," she moaned softly in her sleep.
He felt the blood in his body begin to stir.
"All right! This's gotta stop!" He sat up and pushed her away.
She wiped the sleep from her eyes. "What're you doing?"
He threw back the covers and planted his feet on the floor. "This isn't gonna work," he said. "I'm going back on the floor."
She put her hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
He bolted to his feet and rounded on her. "Whatta you think you're doing!"
She yawned. "Well, I was sleeping until you practically slammed me into the wall."
He turned on his heel and folded his arms.
"InuYasha?"
"Just stay away from me, okay?" He could hear her moving on the bed.
"What's wrong with you? What's your problem?"
"You're my problem," he said, unceremoniously.
"What'd I do this time! I was sleeping, for Pete's sake."
He glanced over his shoulder at her.
"Well?" she asked. "What'd I do?"
His anger deflated. "Nothing." He let his arms drop to his side. "You haven't done anything."
"Then come back to bed," she said.
He kept his back to her. "I can't do that."
"Why in the world not?"
He got angry again. Was she really this dense? Couldn't she see what she was doing to him?
"InuYasha!"
He turned on her again. "Are you stupid or something!"
She was indignant. "No! And keep your voice down. My family's trying to sleep."
He turned away from her again, crossed his arms. "So was I."
"InuYasha, you're not making any sense."
He continued to scowl.
"Will you at least look at me?" she asked. "I mean, what is your problem?"
He heard her moving again, sliding across the bed.
"InuYasha?" She put a hand on his shoulder.
"Why do you always have to touch me?" he asked.
She drew her hand away. She stood by his side, now. "Sorry," she said. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" he repeated. "There's nothing wrong with me. What's wrong with you?"
She folded her arms. "InuYasha, you're making less sense than usual."
"Why don't you sleep in the bed with me?" he said, mocking her. "You and your bright ideas."
"Now, wait a minute!" She raised a finger in a scolding manner, her brow tense, her eyes angry.
He took a deep breath and braced himself for a barrage of insults. She looked as if she was really going to tear into him. "Well?" he said.
She glared at him for a moment then smiled. She brushed past him as she climbed into her bed. "Come back to bed, InuYasha. It's late, and it's really no time to argue."
He was angry again. "Why you--"
"Give it a rest, will ya?"
He scowled at her.
"Don't hold a grudge," she said. "Let's be more friendly with each other."
What was wrong with her? Didn't she get it?
"It's cold, InuYasha. Come back to bed."
Again with the bed. "Will you get it through your thick skull? I'm sleeping on the floor!"
"Keep it down," she said.
"No! I will not keep it down."
"InuYasha," the crossness was back in her voice.
"I can't sleep with you," he said. "It's not gonna happen!"
She gave him an odd smile. "InuYasha . . ."
"Will you stop that!"
"Stop what?" she asked.
"That look," he said. "Stop looking at me like that."
"Like what?"
"Like . . . like . . ."
"Like?" she asked.
He scoffed and refolded his arms.
"Come on, InuYasha. Be a good boy and come back to bed."
That was it. He'd had enough. "I'm not a dog!"
She smiled at him. "Of course you're not," she said. "Parts of you are very human."
There was something in her voice that made his blood boil . . . Not in anger, but in . . .
"Don't we have fun together?" she asked. "Don't you like having me around? Isn't your life better with me in it?"
He looked away from her. "Idiot."
"Don't I make you happy?" she asked. "Don't you like being together?"
He didn't answer.
"Come to bed, InuYasha. It's late, and I'm tired. And I really don't feel like fighting with you."
"Idiot," he repeated.
"I guess I am an idiot," she shrugged. "An idiot who loves InuYasha."
He stared at her, his eyes wide. How could she just say it out like that?
Kagome blushed. "Stop being so stubborn," she said. "Sleep with me."
His heart skipped a beat.
"Well?" she said.
Why did she have to pressure him so much? Why was she so insistent? Why was she. . . So beautiful?
"I won't keep asking all night," she said. "I would like to go to school tomorrow before we go back."
How! How did she . . . How did . . . "How do you expect me to sleep with you without touching you!"
She blushed scarlet, then lowered her head.
"Well!" he demanded.
She kept her eyes down. "Who ever said you couldn't touch me?" She lifted her eyelids. "I'd like it if you touched me."
"Kagome . . ." He swallowed hard.
"It's cold," she said. "Come to bed."
He hesitated.
"Don't you want to?" she asked. "Sleep with me?" Her face was still quite red.
"Of course," he said. "But . . ." Was it the right thing to do? The right time? The right place?
She scoffed. "You're thinking about her again, aren't you?"
"What?"
She looked at him directly now. "Kikyo," she said. "I thought you were trying to be honorable, but . . . it's because of her, isn't it?"
"No."
"Don't lie to me," she said. "I can see it written all over your face."
He could hear the hurt in her voice. "That's not it. That's not it, at all."
"Liar!" She was crying now. "I can't believe what an idiot I am. Here we are, alone together in the middle of the night . . . And I thought you might be thinking something perverted, but no! You're thinking about her. Kikyo! Kikyo! Kikyo!"
He edged his way to the bed. "Kagome . . ."
She smacked his hand away. "Don't touch me!" she screamed. "I hate you! Do you hear me? I hate you!"
"Kagome!"
"Just leave," she said. "I don't wanna see you, any more. You make me so mad."
He sat down on the edge of the bed. "Kagome . . ."
"Didn't you hear me?" she asked. "Leave! You're disgusting. I hate you!" She covered her face with her hands. "I hate myself."
He'd never heard such heart-broken, such heart-breaking sobs. He put his hand on her knee. "Kagome . . ."
She ignored him and continued to cry.
He scooted closer in. "Don't cry, Kagome . . . Surely, I'm not worth all this."
She looked up at him, her eyes puffy and red. "Is that what you think?"
He looked away from her. It hurt him to see her like this. Deep in his heart.
"Maybe I'm not the idiot, after all," she said.
He didn't reply.
"I really want you to leave," she said.
Leave? He couldn't leave her like this. He couldn't leave things like this.
"Didn't you hear me?" she asked. "I want you to leave!" She pushed him off the bed.
He jumped on her and pinned her flat against the mattress. "You idiot!" he said.
She struggled against his grasp.
"I'm doing this for you," he said. "I don't wanna hurt you the way I hurt her."
She stopped struggling. "InuYasha . . ."
He loosened his grip on her hands. "It's like it was yesterday," he said. "Every day the same thing . . . The same nightmare over and over again." How could he make her understand? "Why do you think I want the stupid jewel? So I can be strong. So I can forget."
"Do you wanna forget me, too?" she asked.
He looked away from her.
She slipped her right hand from his grip, reached up and stroked the side of his face. "My poor, InuYasha."
"I couldn't help her," he said. "I can't help her." The pain was still fresh, still new to him. "I'm not strong enough," he said.
She tilted her head sadly to the side. "You don't have to be strong by yourself," she said. "Because we're strong together."
He leaned his cheek into her hand.
She was so warm, so gentle and kind. "I'm here for you, InuYasha. I'll always be here for you," she said. "And no one can change that."
"Kagome . . ."
"And I'll wait forever for you, if I have to."
He looked down at her.
She looked up at him. "And don't let the tears fool you. I'm a lot tougher than I look."
Such a brave girl. Such a wonderfully warm and brave girl.
She continued to caress his cheek. "No one can take me away from you."
He sighed. What had he gotten so worked up about? Why had he pinned her to the bed like this?
"Not Naraku," she said. "Not Koga. Not even Kikyo . . . I won't let anyone take me away from you."
He wanted her so badly. Wanted to touch her. Wanted to comfort her. Wanted to tell her that everything was going to be all right . . . But look at them. Look at him. Why was he so inadequate?
"InuYasha . . ."
Why couldn't he just be the man he wanted to be?
"I'll always be there for you . . ."
But that was his job. He was supposed to be there for her. He was supposed to protect her. He was supposed to comfort her . . . How had he let everything get so turned around?
"Let's just sleep, InuYasha. It's late, and we're both probably really tired." She ran her hand down his face to his neck. "Let's just lay together."
No. That's not what he wanted.
"InuYasha?"
He grabbed her hand and forced it down to the mattress. "No," he said. He bent down and kissed her fully on the mouth. If he couldn't tell her how he felt, he'd show her.
She didn't resist. "InuYasha . . ."
He touched her face and neck, her breasts and sides. Her bare thighs. "Is this okay?" he asked.
She nodded breathlessly. "Yes," she said. "Anything you want."
He nibbled at her ear. "I want you," he sent his hand beneath her nightshirt.
"Mmmmm . . ."
He slid down her body, caressed her stomach and thighs.
"InuYasha . . ." She laid motionless on the bed, letting his hands wander and explore.
"Your hands . . ."
"Did I scratch you?" he asked.
"No," she arched her body against him. "I like them."
He felt himself blush.
"Get undressed," she said. "I wanna feel your body against mine. Skin to skin."
He removed his clothes, tossing them to the floor, then resumed his love making. "Kagome . . ." He kissed her, caressing her face and neck.
"Oh, InuYasha . . ."
He moved his hands further down her body, back beneath her nightshirt. She was so warm and soft. And so very gracious.
She kissed his neck as he slipped a hand between her thighs. A soft moan escaped from
her lips.
"Is this all right?" he asked again.
She drew in a deep breath. "Wonderful," she replied. "Simply wonderful."
She felt very warm down there, and he could feel the moisture beginning to form on his
fingers Her scent penetrated his nostrils. He knew what he wanted to do.
"InuYasha, what are you . . ?"
"I'm not leaving," he said. He moved to the foot of the bed and pulled her panties off. He then situated himself between her bent legs and licked her exposed charms.
Kagome's response was immediate. "Oh! InuYasha!"
He forced her thighs flat against the bed and continued to service her with his tongue, licking her here, kissing her there. Sucking on a particularly tiny piece of exposed flesh.
She squeezed her eyes shut and bit her lower lip. She seemed to be having trouble breathing. "Inu . . . InuYasha . . ." She gripped the bed sheets, rolling her head listlessly to the
side. "Ohhhhhhh . . ."
It gave him the greatest of pleasures to know he could move her in this way. That he could give her these feelings, excite her desires. He could kiss her and caress her and touch her most intimate areas. Her ears, her mouth, her breasts and stomach. Her back and shoulders and legs. And that darling face . . . All offered up to him as a token of her love and affection.
And he could do little but offer her the same in return. "Kagome . . ." he kissed her one final time, then slid his hands up her body, pushing her nightshirt up as he went.
She sat up and let him pull it over her head.
It had never been a question of him wanting her. He'd always wanted her. From the first night they'd met. Deep down in his soul, he'd wanted her.
At first, it was her resemblance to Kikyo. A similar scent, the shape of her face, that look in her eyes . . . So alike, but so different.
But, Kikyo didn't want him any more. She'd given up on him as a lost cause. And, who could blame her. He was so different from her. A half demon, hungry for power, so vicious and angry. How could someone so good ever want anything to do with him?
And then there was Kagome . . . Kagome who cried for him. Kagome who stood by him. Kagome who helped him. Kagome who nearly died for him . . . Kagome who loved him . . .
"InuYasha . . ." She reached out and touched his thigh. Her face slightly flushed, her eyes lowered.
It was the first time for them to be together like this. Alone, and naked in a bed.
He stroked the side of her face. "Kagome . . ."
She didn't meet his gaze.
"Are you ashamed to be with me?" he asked.
Her face turned a brighter shade of red.
He continued to caress her cheek. "Do you wanna stop?" he asked.
She turned redder still, but shook her head.
He slipped his hand beneath her chin and eased it gently upwards. "Look at me," he said.
She lifted her eyelids.
"Kagome . . ."
She let him turn her head to face him.
"I won't do anything you don't want me to do," he said.
"I know," she seemed to be shaking.
"And I'd never do anything to deliberately hurt you."
"I know," she said.
He scooted closer to her. "I need you, Kagome."
She squeezed his thigh, giving a slight smile. "I know."
"Do you need me?" he asked.
Her smile broadened. "Every day," she said.
He leaned in and kissed her. Lip to lip, tongue to tongue. Heart to heart. He pressed his body against hers.
She stroked the back of his neck, running her fingers through his hair; her other hand still on his upper thigh. "InuYasha . . ."
He felt her relax into his embrace. Now, was the time. "Kagome . . ." He trailed wet kisses down her throat as he eased her back onto the bed.
"InuYasha . . ."
He covered her with kisses as he separated her thighs and prepared to enter her. "I want you to tell me if it hurts," he said. "If it hurts, I'll stop." She nodded silently in reply.
He bent down and kissed her. "Just try and relax," he said. "I'll be as gentle as I can."
She nodded again.
"You're so quiet."
She looked up at him and smiled. Then nodded again.
"I won't do it if you're not ready. We can--"
She reached up and ran her thumb along his lower lip.
He took this as his signal to begin. He took his penis in hand and slid it into her body.
Her body snapped taut; her eyes squeezed shut.
"Do you want me to stop?"
She shook her head violently from left to right.
He stroked the side of her face. "Then, you have to relax, Kagome." He ran his hand down her neck and shoulder. "Just relax, and I promise it'll get better."
She drew in a couple of deep breaths, then nodded her assent.
"That's my girl." He kissed her as he sank down deeper inside her, divesting her of her maidenhead.
She yelped in pain.
He kissed her neck and whispered in her ear, running his hands along her back and sides. "It's okay, now." He nibbled at her ear. "The worst part's over . . . We'll just lay here for awhile, all right?"
She bit her lower lip, then nodded.
He kissed and caressed her upper body. Her face and neck. Her shoulders and breasts. "You feel so good, Kagome." He tongued one of her nipples till swollen and hard. "Does it still hurt?" he asked.
Her reply was breathy and shallow. "I'm okay . . ."
"You sure?" he asked.
She nodded again. "Yeah . . . I'm okay."
He cupped her face in both of his hands and claimed her mouth with his own. Kissing her was best . . . Her taste. Her tongue. The warmth of her breath. The softness of her lips.
She wrapped her arms around him and slid them down his back.
"Kagome . . ."
She reached up and stroked his ears.
It sent a shiver down his spine. "Ohhhh . . ."
"Do it, InuYasha."
"Hmm?"
She smiled at him. "You know. . . It. Do it."
A smile crossed his lips. "You're ready?"
She arched her hips against him. "I'm ready . . . Just go slow, okay?" She kissed him.
His face flushed. "Okay." He drew his penis out, then slowly slid it back in.
Kagome sighed.
"Is it okay?" he asked.
"Yeah," she smiled. "It feels nice . . . Do it some more."
He smiled in response, then continued to ply her with long, slow strokes "That's it," she said. "Just like that, InuYasha . . . Do it just like that." She felt so warm down there and tight. And her scent and her sweat. The soft little sounds she made. "Kagome . . ."
"Mmmm . . . that's nice . . ." She began to move with him. "You feel . . . so good . . . InuYasha . . ."
It was becoming harder for him to breathe. He was sweating, too, now. The silky friction between their two bodies . . . Her breasts to his chest. Her stomach to his stomach. Hip to hip, thigh to thigh . . . "My god, Kagome . . ."
She drew in a short, sharp breath. "Ahhh . . ."
He buried his head in the crook of her neck. So warm. So soft. So sweet . . . The taste of her sweat dissolving on his tongue.
"More," she said. "Faster, InuYasha . . . Love me faster . . ."
The sound of his name on her lips . . . "Ka-Kagome . . ."
"Faster," she said. "Please . . ."
He picked up his pace, spurred on by the pleas of his partner. She felt so good . . . so very, very good.
"InuYasha . . . ohhhhh . . . InuYasha . . ." She hugged him closer to her body, working her hips up and down, his penis sliding in and out. Faster. Deeper. Harder. "Yes," she said. "Ohhh . . . yes, InuYasha, yes . . ."
He'd never experienced such intense pleasure in his life. "Kagome . . ." He sucked at her earlobe, held her more tightly.
"Ohhhhhh . . ." she pressed her head back against the mattress. "I can't stand it . . . I can't stand it . . !"
"Yes," he said. "Yes, you can."
She rolled her head listlessly to the side.
He continued to kiss her face and neck.
"InuYasha, InuYasha, InuYasha . . ."
"I love it when you say my name."
"Ahhh!"
"You're such a good girl." He pushed the damp strands of hair back from her face. "So perfect," he said. "So beautiful . . ."
Her womb shut tight on him.
"Kagome!"
"Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!"
He couldn't take any more. It was too much. Too good. Too . . .. He called her name and pushed forward one final time, spilling his sperm into her. Her body snapped taut, then went limp. "Ohhhhhh . . . InuYasha, InuYasha, InuYasha. . . That was . . ."
There was a knock at the door. "Kagome?" It was her mom.
He looked at her; she looked back at him. "Don't move," she whispered. "And not a sound."
"Are you okay, Kagome?"
"I, uh, I'm fine, Mom. I, uh, I had a bad dream. A nightmare . . . I'm sorry if I woke you up."
"I think the whole house heard you," she said. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine, Mom. Really. It was just a really bad dream." They both stared intently at the door. "I'm sorry I woke you up. It's nothing to worry about."
"Well . . . if you're sure . . ."
She sighed, obviously relieved. "I'm fine, Mom. Really. InuYasha's here. He won't let anything happen to me. Just go back to bed. I'm sorry if I worried you."
"Well . . . all right," she said. "Good night."
"Good night," she said.
They listened as her footsteps faded down the hall.
Kagome sighed again. "That was a little too close for comfort."
InuYasha rolled off to the side of her and grinned.
"What're you so happy about?"
The grin seemed more a smirk, now.
"What?" she said.
"The whole house heard you," he said. She blushed scarlet, but modesty turned quickly to anger. "It's your fault," she scowled.
"I know it is." He drew her up in his arms and gave her a tight, but gentle squeeze.
The scowl faded and a sly smile appeared. "You're incorrigible," she said.
"I thought you were about to tell me I was wonderful," he said. "Before your mom came knocking."
She sank back in the bed, leaned into his embrace. "No, I wasn't," she said. "Yes, you were," he said.
"No, I wasn't."
"Yes. You were."
"NO. I wasn't." She kissed him on the cheek. "Good night."
"Kagome . . ."
"I refuse to feed that ego of yours any more tonight." The smug expression returned. "You loved it," he nodded.
She looked up at him. "No," she said. "Not `it.' I love you," she snuggled next to him. "And don't you forget it."
He smiled and rested his head atop hers.
"And I wasn't gonna say you were wonderful. `Incredible' is more one of my words." She yawned. "Now, good night, sir."
He watched and waited as she drifted off to sleep. "Good night, love." He brushed a stray strand of hair back from her face and kissed her forehead. "Sweet dreams."
