Kagome Higurashi walked out of the stuffy restaurant that she currently was working at into the cool night air. She sighed and sat down on the outside bench, pushing her hair out of her eyes. Tonight had been a hectic night. They had had several large parties dining there, and Kagome's feet were killing her. Unable to resist, and ignoring the fact that her break was only for ten measly minutes, she removed her shoes and gently began massaging her throbbing feet. She wiggled her toes, grinning to herself at the way her pantyhose would stretch apart, giving her the appearance of webbed feet.
As she slowly worked the circulation back into her sore feet, she heard a rustling sound come from the bushes across the street. As dark as it was, Kagome was still able to make out shapes, and she was shocked to see a grown man stumble from a rather large bush. He was holding himself rather awkwardly, as though wounded, and Kagome was about to call out to him to see if he needed help when suddenly a black car pulled up to the man. Kagome quickly closed her mouth to see what was happening.
Another man stepped out of the car. He casually strode over to the man and stood in front of him. The two were conversing quietly, but Kagome had a creeping suspicion that the wounded man was scared of this other man. Assuming her break was over, Kagome stood up slowly. She silently walked back to the door of the restaurant when she suddenly heard one of the man yell, "No! Please Inu Yasha, I beg you, no!"
Kagome whipped around to see what happened, and the sight before her caused her to gasp. The wounded man was kneeling on the ground in front of the other man. The one still standing had his arm pointing down at the man on the ground, and it appeared as if he had something pointing to his head. Suddenly, a sound like a car backfiring sounded, and the kneeling man fell over dead. Kagome watched in horror as he fell to the ground, landing with a sickening dull thud. She suddenly let out an ear-piercing scream, unable to control her own horror.
The man with the gun looked up quickly, spotting Kagome. He ran over to her with a super human speed that Kagome didn't even have time to register. But suddenly she was in his arms, one of his hands covering her mouth. He sniffed the air carefully, and his grip around her tightened slightly. He brought his head down to her ear and began whispering quickly as another car pulled up to his. "Don't be scared. I'm not going to hurt you. Why would I hurt you? You didn't see anything, right?" He carefully shook Kagome's head for her. "Good. Now, you're going to go inside, tell your boss that you don't feel well, and you're going to leave early. Then you'll go home, take a long bath, and in the morning you'll feel fine. Since you didn't see anything, you'd have no reason to alert the authorities about this. Am I right?" He shook Kagome's head for her again. "Excellent. Now I'm going to remove my hand, and you will not make a sound." He slowly pulled his hand away from her mouth and turned her around. Kagome trembled in his arms, unable to look him in the face. He gently tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and said, "My name is Inu Yasha. Don't forget that. Because I will be back to talk to you." Kagome looked up quickly, and for the first time, she got a good look at him. He had long silver hair and piercing amber eyes. He was dressed in dark baggy pants and a black shirt that accentuated his toned frame, and looking back at his face, Kagome thought she could see triangle shaped ears atop his head.
Before she had time to dwell on this strange finding, a man from the other car called out, "Hey Yasha, what's going on?"
Inu Yasha locked eyes with Kagome for a second longer before turning around. "Nothing Miroku, it's cool." He walked over to the man and continued talking. "Tell clean-up that we've got a body at thirty-fourth avenue, on the corner of seventy-seven, and one here. A bullet to each."
Miroku was immediately on a cell phone as Inu Yasha got back in his car. He pulled up to Kagome and said, "Good night."
Kagome, trembling terribly, slowly turned around. She walked inside the restaurant, but before she had a chance to start working again, she ran into the bathroom and retched. A dry sob escaped her throat and she took a shuddering breath, trying to calm herself. Vaguely aware that her shoes were still outside the restaurant, she flushed the toilet and rinsed her mouth out at the sink. When she was half way calm again, she walked into the back of the restaurant to find her boss, Jinenji. He was sitting in his office doing the paperwork, so Kagome knocked quietly.
Jinenji turned around and smiled. "Need something, Kagome?" Suddenly he frowned. "You don't look so good, everything okay?"
Kagome slowly shook her head. "I think I… Um… Can I go home?"
Jinenji nodded. "I'll ask Ayumi to cover your shift."
Kagome nodded and walked away. She grabbed her purse and jacket from her locker and walked out of the building. Spotting her shoes next to the bench where she left them, she picked them up and began walked to the bus station.
She was in a complete and utter daze as she stepped onto the bus, still holding her shoes in her hand. She found an empty seat and held her belongings to her body tightly. When the bus stopped at her stop, she stood up carefully and walked off the bus. She crossed the street to her apartment complex, intent on making it home without retching again. At her door she quickly fished around in her purse for her key, taking deep breaths. She finally found her key and shoved it in the keyhole. The door swung open and she rushed inside. She slammed the door shut behind her, locked it quickly, and then bolted the bolts on the top and bottom of her door. When that was done, she ran into the bathroom to vomit again.

Kagome carefully slid into the warm, soapy water in her bathtub, sighing softly. She rubbed her eyes frantically and breathed in the comforting scent of lavender that filled the small room. After she had retched more times than not, she drew herself a hot bath. In just a few short hours, she had experience more terror than she thought possible. A man was shot and killed right in front of her! And the man who murdered him, Inu Yasha, said that he would come back to talk to her. Kagome frowned. She had actually considered going to the police about it, but when she left her work to go to the bus station, she noticed that both cars were gone, and there was no body. The clean up that Inu Yasha called for had obviously worked quickly. So what proof did she have?
Kagome sighed again and began thinking about what had happened, and more importantly why it happened. Her neighborhood wasn't the nicest place around, but that was the first time she had been so closely related to a murder. Her stomach tied itself in knots at the thought. She witnessed a murder, and she was afraid to go to the police. She sighed, tired of thinking about this. It was making her feel terrible. Vowing to finish her bath in peace and then head to bed, Kagome cleared her mind of the evening's events and began trying to enjoy her bath.

Inu Yasha Tetsuiga parked his black car in front of his brother's mansion. He walked up the steps and let himself in the front door. As he walked through the all to familiar house he thought about the girl he saw earlier. Or rather, the girl that saw him doing his job. He frowned. That damn wench better not go to the police. I'm not in the mood to kill her too. A smile graced his lips. She had a nice smell… That thought was quickly pushed out of his head as Inu Yasha suddenly found himself face to face with Sesshomaru, his brother.
"How did it go?" Sesshomaru asked casually.
Inu Yasha shrugged. "How did you expect it to go? I found them, got the information you needed, and killed them. Like every other time."
Sesshomaru looked at his little brother closely. "And what weapon did you use?"
Inu Yasha glared at his brother. "Fuck off, Sess. I only use the .45 caliber on humans. And they were humans."
Sesshomaru glanced at his brother's claws. "Fine. Any complications?"
Inu Yasha shook his head. "No. Enough with this bullshit. Give me my money."
Sesshomaru reached into the pocket of his black suit jacket. He pulled out an envelope full of cash and handed it to Inu Yasha, who snatched it out of his hand. He counted the money quickly before pocketing it and saying, "Good. I'm going."
Sesshomaru turned around without responding, and the two brothers walked away from each other. Inu Yasha slammed the front door behind him and jogged to his car. Inside he started it up immediately and rolled the top down. As he drove through the gate away from the house, he pulled over to the side of the road and watched the mansion disappear, and be replaced with nothing but trees. He rolled his eyes and drove down the road.
That's just like his brother. Paranoid as hell that some pissed off demon would find his house to pick a fight. Inu Yasha hated to admit it, but any demon stupid enough to do that deserved whatever they got. Sesshomaru was by no means weak. He was a full demon, and definitely one of the strongest. Inu Yasha, being only a half demon, has worked damn hard to become as strong as he is.
At a streetlight that Inu Yasha was waiting at, he glanced at his watch and sighed. It was still relatively early. Making some quick decisions, he quickly pulled out into traffic, cutting off several other drivers, and drove over to Miroku's house. Maybe they could get some beers or something.

Miroku supported himself on his arms and legs as he looked down at the panting, sweaty girl beneath him. She writhed in passion, making soft moans and mews as he teased her folds with his throbbing member. Unable to resist, he dipped his head down to kiss the beautifully naked girl known as Sango. She kissed him back with just as much passion and bucked her hips slightly, trying to urge him on. Miroku smirked into the kiss and waited half a tantalizing second before burying himself deep inside her, drinking in her sweet moans.
Sango cried out in pleasure as he hit her G-spot, and waited no time in wrapping her long legs around his waist, driving him deeper. He groaned into her mouth and brought one hand up to squeeze her soft breast. When he flicked her nipple, she tightened her muscles around him, making him buck into her senselessly. With no further warning, Miroku moved faster and faster until Sango began screaming in pure pleasure. His lips attached themselves to the base of her neck and he began sucking furiously.
As the climax hit, the two held onto each other tightly, both seeing stars and floating in ecstasy. When it was over, Miroku slumped down on top of the girl and tiredly kissed at her smooth neck. Sango pushed him off of her so she could breath, but Miroku held onto her sweaty body tightly, so she rolled right over with him, now her on him.
She laughed softly and tried pulling back. "Miroku, I've got to go."
He didn't release her body, but instead trailed one hand over her bare ass and gave a light squeeze. "You could always stay the night, Sango my dear."
Sango glared at him. "No I can't, and you know that." She pushed herself away from him so she could sit up. Miroku still held onto her, so she in turn straddled him. She sighed. "Miroku, if you're going to get clingy, we'll have to stop."
He shook his head. "I'm not clingy. I just don't want you to leave yet."
She sighed again and pulled away completely. Stepping off the bed, she began looking around the dark room for her clothes. "I already told you. This is a stress reliever. No strings attached. When we have a hard day at work, we use each other for sex. We're fuck buddies, Miroku. Why are you making this so difficult?"
He ignored the question and stood up. Walking over to her he pulled her body up against his and began lightly sucking on her neck.
"No marks, Miroku." She said softly as she closed her eyes.
Miroku sniffed quietly, taking in her soft scent as he continued licking and sucking her neck. He trailed one hand down the front of her body, stopping at her warm and still wet folds. He rubbed the hidden nub gently, smirking when she pressed herself against the palm of his hand.
A knock at a faraway door startled the two. She sighed and pulled away. "I'll see you at work tomorrow." She mumbled quickly as she picked up her clothes and ran into the bathroom to change. Miroku grumbled and threw on his boxers. He walked through his house to the front door, and opened it to see a grossed out looking Inu Yasha.
"You just had sex!"
Miroku grinned. "What gave me away, hm Yash? The fact that I'm in my boxers? Or was it that there is a car that isn't mine parked out front of my house? Or was it-"
"It was the fact that I can fucking smell it!" Inu Yasha bellowed, taking a step back. "The two of you are still fucking horny!"
Miroku was about to answer, but a livid Sango beat him to it. "Shut the hell up, Inu Yasha." She brushed passed the two men and said, "See you two at work tomorrow."
Miroku watched her go with a look of longing that did not go unnoticed by Inu Yasha. He stepped inside the house, punched his friend on the arm, and said, "Dude, you get to fuck her. That's what most guys would kill for. What the hell are you so down for?"
Miroku sighed and shut the door behind his friend. "At first it was great. I got to have sex with Sango, no strings attached. But now…" He listened to Sango drive away before saying, "Now I want the strings attached."
They stood in silence for a few minutes before Inu Yasha punched his arm again and said, "Get dressed, we're going out for beers."
Miroku rubbed his arms as he retreated to his room. He threw on a pair of baggy black jeans and a black long sleeved shirt before joining Inu Yasha in the main room. The two of them walked out of the house and passed the cars in front of them. They walked the short distance to the bus stop and waited, both knowing that it would be stupid to bring a car, seeing as how they both planned on getting piss drunk.
"So, who was the babe I saw earlier?" Miroku asked slyly, sitting down on the bench.
Inu Yasha scowled slightly. "Just some bitch."
Miroku sighed, knowing that his friend wasn't trying to insult the woman by saying that. "How did you meet her?"
"What are you, the fucking police? Stop interrogating me!" Inu Yasha spat.
Miroku looked away before answering quietly. "She saw, didn't she."
Inu Yasha fell silent. The wind blew his silver hair around his face slightly. "Yes."
Miroku crossed his arms in front of him. "You know Sesshomaru's rules."
"I'm not going to fucking kill her because she was at the wrong place at the wrong time!" Inu Yasha snarled. He fisted his hands and said, "I'll figure something out."
Miroku looked at his friend curiously. "You've never had a problem with killing a human before. What's different now?"
Inu Yasha ignored this question. He perked up slightly and said, "The bus is coming."
Miroku looked around but didn't see anything. He was about to ask how Inu Yasha could know such a thing, but then he remembered. Inu Yasha was a demon from crying out loud. He could hear the bus miles away, and he could probably even smell how many people were on it.
A few short minutes later, the bus arrived. They stepped on and stood in the back, waiting for their stop at a local bar/club, The Hiji. The bus ride was as boring as ever. A couple of giggly teenage girls were eying Inu Yasha and Miroku, giggling and whispering when Miroku would wink at them. Inu Yasha just scowled and muttered, "Don't encourage them, you stupid fuck."
Miroku smirked and glanced at his disgruntled friend. "Don't get your undies in a bunch, Yash. I'm just having a bit of fun."
Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and muttered a few choice words about perverted friends and annoying girls. When the bus was a block or so away from the Hiji, Miroku and Inu Yasha got off. They walked in a comfortable silence to their well-known club, nodding to the bouncer, Jinenji, as they walked past the demons and humans hoping to get it. Up at the bar they ordered their regular drinks, Miroku a gin and tonic, while Inu Yasha ordered a much stronger demon drink. The two of them finished their drinks while they scanned the area.
Miroku immediately found two young, hot girls to bump and grind with. Inu Yasha on the other hand looked around the bar with his usual scowl. Suddenly, a pair of hands found their way to his shoulders, eventually running through his hair. Inu Yasha turned his head slightly and growled in annoyance.
"Inu Yasha, how are you?" A seductive voice whispered in his ear. The voice belonged to a very curvaceous girl named Yura, who was currently wearing an incredibly revealing black dress. She continued to fondle Inu Yasha's hair until he removed her hands from it. She pouted slightly, but he ignored that and answered, "Fine until you came along, Yura."
Yura gave him a glowering look and said, "No need to be rude, you know. Why are you so tense? Why don't you let me help you loosen up… I'll shampoo your hair for you…"
Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and turned away. "Like I said last time Yura, fuck no. Now fuck off."
Yura huffed away angrily, disappearing in the mass of humans and demons. Inu Yasha smirked and once again looked around the bar until his eyes landed on a group of wolf demons sitting at a set of couches in the corner. Inu Yasha set down his glass and walked over to the leader of that particular work clan, Kouga Yourozoku.
"Back in town, Kouga?" Inu Yasha asked conversationally as he looked down at him.
Kouga smirked up at the half demon and replied, "You knew I had to come back at some point, Yash."
Inu Yasha chuckled as he knocked his fist against Kouga's and sat across from him. "But seriously, what brings you back so soon? I thought you weren't planning on being back for a few more years?"
Kouga shrugged. "Nothing interesting over there." Suddenly, the female wolf demon next to Kouga that Inu Yasha didn't notice at first smacked Kouga in the head and he quickly said, "Except for my lovely mate." Inu Yasha laughed as the woman glowered, and Kouga introduced them. "Inu Yasha Tetsusiaga, this is Ayame Larkin, leader of the wolf pack in the East. Ayame, this is Inu Yasha, the younger brother of Sesshomaru."
Inu Yasha glared at Kouga for his pitiful introduction, but Ayame smiled at him. He nodded slightly to Ayame and went back to looking around the club as the wolf demons around him talked to Kouga.

Hours later, Inu Yasha could be seen dragging a shit-faced Miroku to the bus station, slightly tipsy himself. The pair of them were getting odd stares from those dumb enough to still be awake at such an ungodly hour, because Miroku was singing bits and pieces of unintelligible songs and falling in and out of consciousness.
When the bus stopped near Miroku's house, Inu Yasha dragged his passed out friend to his house. At the doorway, he propped Miroku against the stone side of the house and searched through his pockets for the spare key. He mentally praised himself for forcing Miroku to give him a spare, knowing that he'd sooner bust the damn door down, rather than reaching into Miroku's pocket for the key. Inside the house, Inu Yasha plopped Miroku down on the couch unceremoniously and retreated to his own house.
At his own house he stripped himself of his clothes and took a shower, thinking of the night he had just had. Sighing, he leaned his head against the shower wall as the cool water poured over his body. What was he going to do about that girl? He didn't want to kill her, but those were Sesshomaru's rules. He needed to figure something out. He couldn't explain it, but he wanted this girl. No, he needed her.
Inu Yasha shook his head and scowled. What kind of namby-pamby pansy was he? He needed her? Ha, not likely! He didn't need anyone! Finishing his shower, he ignored the part of his mind telling him that he was wrong.
