Kagome woke up on Saturday morning feeling refreshed. The thoughts of the previous night didn't hit her until she opened her eyes and yawned. She groaned and stuck her head beneath her pillow as the memories flood her mind. Vowing to make it through the day without emptying her stomach contents, she slowly got out of bed and slipped her feet into her fluffy white slippers.
She wrapped her silk robe around her white nighty and shuffled into the kitchen in her apartment. When her coffee began pouring into the pot, she threw her hair into a messy bun and pulled out some toast and jam. She hummed softly to herself as she prepared her wholesome breakfast. She glanced at the calendar on her fridge and smiled softly. She was helping out at the ballet center today. No matter the kind of day she was having, helping out with the little girls in tu-tu's always put a smile on her face. They were all so happy and innocent, and absolutely adorable in their matching pink leotards.
Happy that she didn't have to be there until noon, Kagome walked to her front door to retrieve her morning newspaper. She placed her hand on her door handle and stopped. Hesitating, she idly chewed on her lip. Peering out the peephole on her door, she held her breath as she looked around for anyone or anything suspicious. Seeing nothing, she cautiously opened her door.
She quickly picked up the newspaper from the floor and leapt back inside her apartment. Slamming the door shut she locked and bolted it, and the frantically looked out the peephole again. Heart beating fast, she gripped the newspaper in her hand, practically shredding the paper. After an intense minute, she stepped away from her door and walked to her kitchen table. Unable to stand on her shaky legs she sat down and placed her head in her hands. I'm losing my mind.

Sango walked through the halls of Sesshomaru's private building, where demons and humans all worked together under him. What everyone did was entirely their own business, as it ranged from getting him money or alliances and meeting with other demons for agreements like Miroku does, going after those who owe Sesshomaru money and information and killing only when the time called for it like Inu Yasha does, downright assassination like Sango does, or thousands of other jobs. She was only aware of those three jobs, as everyone that works for Sesshomaru is very private.
Inside her office she made a quick phone call to check up on her younger brother before she began her real work. Both of her parents had been murdered by a demon, so it was up to Sango to raise Kohaku. Wanting to do the best for him, she made a deal with Sesshomaru. Send her brother to the most prestigious and most protected boarding school in the country, and in exchange, she would work for him, doing whatever he needed. And what did Sesshomaru need? A cold-blooded assassin.
Sango was less than thrilled about what she would have to do, but she didn't want to risk the demon coming after her brother. She could take care of herself, seeing as how she was experienced in the field of demon killing. Her brother on the other hand… Like most humans, didn't even know that demons existed. A select few humans were well aware that demons were around, but for the most part, demons kept themselves hidden, or they concealed their demon attributes. Only rarely did they show their true form, or if you happen to catch them off guard, which wasn't often.
Her conversation with Kohaku was like nearly every other conversation they had. He'd say that he wanted to leave the boarding school, she'd say no, he'd threaten to run away, and she'd threaten to find him and put him back at school. In the end she'd bribe him with video games and he'd comply.
"When are you going to come visit me at school, Sango?" Kohaku asked as he held the phone between his ear and shoulder, trying to tie his shoe.
Sango looked through the papers on her desk and she sighed. "I don't know, when I get the time off."
"What is it that you do again?" He asked slyly.
Sango blushed. "I work at a bank. I've told you that already." She hated lying to her brother.
He rolled his eyes, knowing that she couldn't see. "Huh. How come whenever I come home for the summer, you never let me visit you at work?"
Sango stuttered slightly. "Th-this is a no nonsense workplace, Kohaku! I'd get in a lot of trouble if you came wandering in here!"
He huffed. "Fine. Whatever. I've got class in a few minutes Sango."
She nodded absently, chewing her lip. "Okay, have fun. Love you."
"Love you." He yawned before hanging up the phone.
Sango sighed as she closed her phone. Kohaku was asking more about her job. Not good. Sango wrote herself a reminder to buy Kohaku an extra video game, in hopes that he'd pipe down with all the job questions.
As Sango flipped open a folder on her desk, looking at her next victim, someone knocked on her door. "It's open!" She called, not looking up.
The door opened, and a man walked in. He closed the door with a soft click and walked slowly over to her desk. Noticing that Sango still had not looked up, he smirked and dropped a red rose on her desk. Startled, Sango looked up.
"Miroku, what's this for?" She asked him as she picked up to rose.
Miroku placed his hands on the edge of her desk and leaned forward. "Do you know what today is?"
Glancing at the calendar Sango replied, "The sixteenth."
He grinned. "Our one month anniversary." At the look of confusion on Sango's face he chuckled and explained. "It was one month ago today that we began fucking, Sango."
Sango rolled her eyes and put the rose down, a slight blush on her cheeks. "How romantic. Go away."
He smirked at her and strode around the desk. Once he was next to her, he grabbed her arms and pulled her to stand up. Wrapping his arms around her waist he breathed against her lips, "We should go out to celebrate."
Blushing, Sango tried pushing back and said, "There is nothing to celebrate. If you keep this up Miroku, I'll-"
Miroku interrupted her by placing his lips over hers. He licked her bottom lip, smirking when she quivered in his arms. He ran a hand over her backside and squeezed lightly. Sango gave in to his touches, forgetting that they were at work. That is until Inu Yasha opened the door with a bang.
Sango jumped back quickly, but Miroku had a strong grip on her ass, so her jumped caused her to trip over his feet, and fall backwards, him still holding on. She landed on the floor with an "Eek!" and him with an "Oomph!"
Inu Yasha burst into laughter and closed the door behind him. "You dip shits!"
Sango quickly pulled herself from Miroku, kicking him several time "on accident" in the process. "Both of you get the hell out of my office!" She bellowed when she was standing, face red.
Miroku laughed as he got to his feet. Inu Yasha smirked at the pair of them as he threw himself into a chair in front of Sango's desk. "You two weren't planning on a quickie in the office, were ya?" He asked, laughter in his voice.
"No!" Sango screeched just as Miroku said "Yes." smoothly.
She glared at the men in her office and said in a dangerously low voice, "You ass holes better have a damn good reason for being in here, or else!"
Inu Yasha laughed at the petty threat and said, "I was here because I was looking for Miroku. And if he isn't in his office, and he isn't in the ladies room, where else would he be? Why, Sango's office of course! Looking for a quick fu-"
"WHY were you looking for me, Inu Yasha?" Miroku interrupted quickly, glaring daggers at the smirking half demon.
He grinned. "I'm going to need you to cover for me. I'm leaving early today."
Miroku groaned and plopped down in Sango's chair. He tried pulling Sango onto his lap as he answered. "I'm always covering for you, man! Where the hell are you going this time?"
Inu Yasha glared, but snorted in amusement when Sango smacked Miroku's head. "You don't always cover for me! Do you know how many times I've covered for you? Telling female co-workers that you can't read, and that's why you always "wander" into the girls bathroom!"
Miroku looked pissed as he said, "Shut the hell up!"
Sango sighed in annoyance. "Would you idiots get out of my office? I have work to do!"
As the two men stood up, Miroku asked slyly, "You're going to go visit that girl, aren't you Inu Yasha?"
Suddenly, Sango looked interested. "Girl? What girl?"
Inu Yasha groaned. "God damnit, Miroku!"
Sango looked between the two men expectantly. Inu Yasha shook his head and walked out. "No one's fucking business."
Miroku went to follow Inu Yasha, but a hand on his chest stopped him. He glanced at Sango, a look of surprise on his face. "What girl?" She asked again.
Miroku gave a dramatic sigh and plopped back down in her chair. "I could tell you… but it'll cost ya."
Sango glared at Miroku a minute before slowly sitting down on his lap. He happily wrapped his arms around her waist, gently caressing her back with one hand. Short and sweet, Miroku explained about Kagome. Sango, looking shocked started to say, "But Sesshomaru's rules-" But Miroku suddenly tugged her forward and said, "Enough about them."
They kissed briefly, before Sango's phone rang. She pulled her lips away from his and picked up her phone. Miroku continued to lick and kiss her neck, making it awfully hard for her to answer her phone. "This is Sango." She answered in a breathy voice, her eyes closed.
"Hey, sis, I just remembered something!" Sango quickly pushed away from Miroku, blushing. "One of my friend's parent's cats just had kittens. Can we get one?" Kohaku said quickly.
Miroku looked at her curiously. "Who would keep it?" She asked, motioning for Miroku to leave. Needless to say, he didn't.
"Well, if you came to visit, you could bring it home with you, and I'd take care of it over the summer." He replied.
"I don't know Kohaku…"
"Aw come on Sango! It's a fricken cat! They practically take care of themselves. Please?"
Sango laughed. "Fine. We'll figure something out. Get to class."
"Cool! Bye."
Sango closed her cell phone and sighed. "Don't you have something to do?" She asked.
Miroku smirked. "Why yes I do."
Sango rolled her eyes. "I didn't mean it like that. Now get out. Just because you're a lazy ass doesn't mean I am. I have lots to do today."
He sighed and walked out of her office. So much for going out to celebrate.

Kagome stepped off the bus and walked the short distance to the dance studio. There was happy, bubbly music playing when she walked inside, and some little girls that arrived early were jumping around happily as their mothers stood in the corner, talking. Kagome walked over and greeted the women. They chatted for a few minutes before more girls began arriving, and Kagome had to keep an eye on the girls.
The phone in the office rang, and Kagome hurried to answer it. She slid slightly in her pantyhose, making the little girls giggle. "Dance Studio, this is Kagome." She answered, laughing slightly herself.
"H-hi Ka-me, it's Ko- aru! -Unning late, rry! -An you -ake -ver?" Kagome took a minute to mentally curse Koharu's cheap cell phone. She thought the message over quickly, finally understanding what was said. `Hi Kagome, it's Koharu. Running late, sorry! Can you take over?'
"Yeah sure Koharu, no problem!" Kagome yelled back, hoping she'd get it. A soft click told her that the cell phone died. Sighing, Kagome put the phone back on the cradle. She turned around and walked out of the office.
The many little girls were giggling and `dancing' around the room, so Kagome turned down the volume on the boom box and said, "Good morning, girls!"
"Good morning, Miss. Kagome!" They all said in unison.
"Miss. Koharu is running late today, so it's just going to be me and you." She said cheerfully. "If you all behave, we can have extra free time." The girls cheered, and Kagome smiled. "But first, we need to do warm-ups."
The girls lined up at the bar next to the wall of mirrors and Kagome began, instructing them on their plie stances. Naturally, the girls were floppy and uncoordinated, but Kagome praised them all the same. They were trying, they were having fun, and Kagome thought they were just so cute.

Inu Yasha propped his feet on his desk as he watched his computer screen, pretending to be working. In actuality, he was daydreaming about random things. First about what he was going to have for lunch, then about why he hated wearing suits. Eventually, his thoughts turned to her, the girl he saw yesterday.
He shifted in his seat. I need to talk to her. If Sesshomaru finds out that she saw the murder, he'll… He'll make me kill her. Inu Yasha shook his head. No. I won't let that happen. I won't kill her. I'll figure something out. Inu Yasha suddenly scowled. What the hell was his problem? Obsessing about some girl like this. He placed his head in his hands. But she isn't just some girl. She's… different. Glancing at his watch, he stood up. It was nearly two. He should go back to her work to see if she's there.

Kagome cleared some dishes from a table at her work, humming softly to herself. When she was done with the ballet class, she went back home to change into her work uniform. When she arrived at work, she shuddered involuntarily at the memory of the previous nights events. Looking around slowly she thought, He said he'd come back for me. Is he… here? Unnerved, Kagome quickly hurried to the back of the kitchen, careful not to drop the dishes she was carrying.
She asked a female co-worker to take over the lobby as she began to do the dishes. This way, he wouldn't be able to see her. Smiling at her cunningness she began washing the mountain of dirty dishes.

Inu Yasha walked into the diner Kagome was working at and smiled to himself. She was here. He could smell her. Taking a deep wiff and searching through all the other scents, he found hers and inhaled slowly. Gods he could get drunk off her scent. It was a scent like no other. He sat himself at a table and waited for a waitress. Within a few minutes, an attractive girl sauntered over to his table. She placed a menu in front of him, purposely showing off plenty of cleavage. "Something I can start you off with, hun?" She asked in a sultry voice.
Inu Yasha glanced up at her and replied, "Actually, I'm looking for a certain waitress that works here. Think you could help me find her?"
The girl smiled and sat across from him. "Tell me about her. I'll see what I can do."
Inu Yasha leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms across his chest. "Well, she's got long black hair and grayish eyes." He thought for a second longer. "Really long legs, and a great body." Unable to stop himself he added, "She smells great."
The girl looked shock and giggled. "You must be talking about Kagome! I'll go get her."
The girl leapt to her feet and hurried off. Kagome. He thought to himself. Cute name.

The girl hurried to the back of the kitchen where she found Kagome tackling the disgusting dishes. In a breathless voice she said, "Hey Kagome, there's a real hottie in the lobby asking for you. Table 9." Before Kagome could reply, the girl hurried off to go giggle with her friends.
Sighing, Kagome slowly walked to the front of the kitchen. It can't be him. Slowly peeking around the corner, she saw that table 9 was empty. Confused, Kagome walked out of the kitchen and into the lobby. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist and tugged her into a part of the lobby that had very light lighting. He covered her mouth with one hand, never releasing her. Breath tickled Kagome's neck as the man behind her whispered, "I told you I'd be back."
Kagome gasped and began struggling, but Inu Yasha didn't release her. He leaned closer to her and said, "Do you honestly think you can get me to let go?" Her struggles stopped. Smirking, Inu Yasha continued. "That's better. Now listen. I want to talk. Got that?"
Shaking, Kagome slowly nodded her head. He loosened his grip slightly, trying to calm her down. The fear that was leaking off of her was close to burning his nose, and he wanted that to end now. "I'm not going to hurt you, Kagome. I just want to talk. Will you listen?" His patience was wearing thin, but if she saw his real temper, it would scare her off. And that was the last thing he wanted to do.
Kagome closed her eyes to keep her tears from falling and she mumbled something. Slowly releasing his hand from her mouth he leaned closer to hear what she was saying. "Why won't you just leave me alone?"
Inu Yasha frowned. "I can't." Kagome was about to ask him to elaborate, but he interrupted her. "What time are you off work?"
Kagome licked her dry lips and whispered, "Nine."
He slowly let her go and said, "I'll be here the whole time. Don't even think about leaving."
Kagome stepped away from him and cast a fearful look in his direction. He just looked at her with his piercing eyes. Slowly, Kagome glanced back up at the top of his head. The ears that she thought she saw the day before were no longer there. Inu Yasha suddenly leaned forward and muttered, "You'll get all the answers you're looking for when we talk, Kagome."
Kagome turned around and walked away slowly. She walked to the back of the kitchen, placed her head against the wall and muttered, "Why me?"

Inu Yasha sat back at his table and opened his cell phone. He quickly dialed Sango's number and said, "Hey Sango, do me a favor."
"No."
"Get down to the restaurant on eighty-second avenue North at like 8:30 or so." He said, ignoring her comment.
"Why?" She asked him, smiling.
"Because!" He snarled back.
"Got yourself a girlfriend, Inu Yasha?" She asked, laughing.
He growled. "Don't be a bitch, Sango. Just get down here."
She gave a dramatic sigh. "Fine fine, I'll cancel my plans!"
He snorted. "What plans? The only thing you do is fuck Miroku, so-"
"Inu Yasha, do you want my help or not?" Sango asked through clenched teeth.
He sighed. "Okay okay. Bring Miroku too if you want."
"Why would I bring Miroku?"
"Did he say that you two were going to celebrate?" He asked, smirking.
Sango hung up the phone. Inu Yasha clicked his phone shut. He ordered some things to eat while he waited for Kagome to get off work.

Several hours later, Sango was walking down the street towards the restaurant that Inu Yasha was at, Miroku walked next to her trying to hold her hand.
"Quit being annoying." She said, swatting his hand away.
Miroku sighed and suddenly grabbed her hand. He laced his fingers through her own and squeezed gently. "Quit being stubborn." He replied.
Sango sighed, but kept their hands together. This is kind of nice…
The two of them walked inside the diner where they found Inu Yasha on his phone, sipping some coffee. The sat on the opposite side of the booth and waited till he hung up the phone. He swiftly snapped it shut and said, "You're late."
Sango glared. "You said 8:30 or so. 8:45 isn't late."
Inu Yasha glared right back but stayed quiet. He looked back at the front counter at Kagome, who cast him a slightly fearful look and hurried to the back. Miroku snorted. "I see she's warming right up to you, Yash."
"Fuck you Miroku." Inu Yasha replied, still looking at where Kagome was.
The three of them sat in almost complete silence for the remaining fifteen minutes, the only noise being Sango slapping Miroku's hand from her thighs.
At 9:00, Kagome quietly clocked off and began sneaking around the back of the building, hoping to leave without Inu Yasha knowing. She opened the backdoor and silently closed it behind her. She was about to make a break for the bus stop across the street, when suddenly a hand grabbed her wrist and swung her around. "Going somewhere?" Inu Yasha asked, angry but amused at the same time.
Kagome gasped and hissed. "Let me go or I'll scream."
He chuckled and pulled her against his body. "All the screaming in the world can't help you right now Kagome."
Kagome whimpered and then fell silent. Suddenly, footsteps coming closer to them caused her to tense up. Inu Yasha looked at the figures hidden in the dark and he said, "Over here, guys. Told you she'd make a run for it."
"can you blame her, Inu Yasha? She's downright terrified of you, you big dumb ass." Sango said in annoyance.
Kagome couldn't quite say why, but the fact that there was another girl with her made her feel slightly safer, and she relaxed slightly in relief.
Inu Yasha growled at her. "I tell you that I'm not going to hurt you and you are fucking scared of me, but then you see Sango for the first fucking time and you get less scared? What the hell?"
Sango laughed and pulled Kagome from his arms. "Leave her alone. Come on, lets go somewhere to talk."
Kagome stuck by Sango's side the entire time, trying hard to ignore the growls coming from Inu Yasha. She didn't notice the man with Sango right away until he sidled up right next to her, placed his arm around her waist and said, "So Kagome, how old are you?"
Kagome looked at him nervously and muttered, "Nineteen."
Suddenly Sango slapped his arm away from Kagome and said, "Knock it off."
He chuckled and said, "Jealous?" Sango threw him a deadly look and didn't say anything.
Kagome refused to get in Inu Yasha's car, so they headed for the bus stop. There, they took the bus to a fast food place and sat in the farthest corner away from everyone else. Inu Yasha looked Kagome in the eyes and said, "Kagome, I know that you're scared of me, and you would much rather tell the police about what happened yesterday rather than listen to me." Kagome looked away, blushing. "But we need to talk. That's why Sango's here. You seem so damn uncomfortable around me, so I figured a girl might help out. And I was right. And Miroku's here because he had nothing better to do." Miroku grinned.
Kagome gave a small smile and mumbled, "Okay, lets talk."
