As Kagome hurriedly stepped into the diner, she threw her hair up into a high ponytail, while apologizing over and over. "I'm sorry I'm late, Jinenji!"

He looked up from the grill and gave a slight smile. "That's okay, Kagome. Rough morning?"

Kagome gave him a sheepish grin while she clocked in and retied her apron around her waist. "I accidentally fell asleep in my living room, and didn't hear my alarm clock going off till the third time!"

He chuckled lightly and poked and flipped the food. "I understand."

Kagome faltered in her steps just slightly. He sounded… different. Like he wasn't saying something. She was about to ask him about it when several people walked in and she had to go serve them.

Inu Yasha and Miroku sat on the couch in Inu Yasha's office, flicking cards into the hat on the coffee table in front of him. They each sighed every couple of minutes, and once would glance at their watch every once in a while. Finally, Miroku spoke.

"We should probably do something productive."

Inu Yasha sighed and flicked another card towards the hat. "Yup."

Neither man moved, and the cards continued to be flicked.

Sango tapped her foot irritably as she sat at her desk. She was reading the many files strewn across the desk in front of her and stifled a yawn. She gave a start when her phone rang and snatched it up quickly. "This is Sango."

"Hey Sis."

She gave a small smile. "Kohaku, I'm beginning to think that you must be ditching class, since you have the time to call me so much."

Kohaku chuckled. "So what are you working on?"

She glanced down at the picture of the demon she was to assassinate and closed the folder. "Money transactions… You know, boring things." She mumbled.

He shrugged. "Okay. So, tell me about Miroku."

She raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"I don't know. I mean, I never really got to know him when I met him, and since he'll be here soon, I figure why not figure out what he's like."

Sango sighed. "Okay, well, he's just your average, run of the mill guy."

"He works with you, right?"

"Uh huh."

"Does he have a girlfriend?" Kohaku asked.

"Of course not." She replied quickly.

Kohaku sounded amused. "Quick to answer, sis. Feelings for Miroku?"

She suddenly sounded flustered. "Wha- No! He's a friend, that's all!"

Kohaku laughed. "Yeah, okay Sango." He glanced at his watch. "Well, I just called to say hi. Talk to you later."

Sango mumbled bye and they hung up. Turning back to her papers she grumbled to herself and yawned.

Rin sat in her mate's chair at his desk, tapping her feet against the floor. She looked around and gave a small smile. Taking in his masculine scent, she closed her eyes and sunk deeper into the chair. She didn't hear him walk into the office and walk over to her. Only when he cleared his throat did she perk up, startled. She smiled at him and he grabbed her hands, pulling her to her feet. Switching places with her, he sat down in his chair and pulled her onto his lap.

"Meeting end early?" She asked as she placed her hands on his shoulders.

He caressed her hips gently as he nodded.

She squirmed away from his touches and said, "Wait." He raised an eyebrow and she said, "I want to talk."

He sighed slightly, but didn't stop his hands, which gripped her hips and moved her shirt up slightly, tickling her flesh.

She straightened her spine slightly in another attempt to shy away from his tantalizing fingers, but cleared her throat and shook her head slightly when he didn't stop. "Listen, sweetie, I've been doing some… research."

He raised an eyebrow, still not saying anything.

"What if we tried, natural ways of getting pregnant? Not seeing a doctor?" She looked hopefully into his eyes. He said nothing still, so she said, "I've found out that eating spicy foods can help to get pregnant."

Finally, he said, "You hate spicy food."

She quickly answered, "I know, but I'd be willing to try it!"

He cocked his head to the side, still watching her. Finally he replied, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt anything."

Rin nearly hit the roof, she was so happy. She suddenly picked up the little brown bag that was next to her purse and held it up. Sesshomaru recoiled quickly at the sudden stench of spicyness hitting his nose. He cursed himself for not focusing on it when he came in, but the sight of his mate usually tends to distract him.

"What is that?" He asked quietly.

She grinned and opened it. "Lunch!" She peered into the bag and said, "Curry, with pepper and jalapeno on top!"

Sesshomaru gave her such a look of disgust she nearly laughed. "Rin, that sounds so disgusting, I don't even think Inu Yasha would eat it."

Rin looked down and mumbled, "I know. He wouldn't even taste it for me." She looked up with pleading eyes and said in a hushed voice, "But I want a baby, Sess. Please."

Sesshomaru sighed and took the bag from her. He put it in the garbage and said, "Listen Rin, lets go out to eat tonight. We'll find the spiciest restaurant in town, order the spiciest food on the menus, and when we come home…" He pulled her close and kissed her lips. "We'll test your spicy food theory."

Rin shivered in anticipation and kissed him back before removing herself from his lap and saying, "Okay, I'll start looking for the perfect restaurant!"

Sesshomaru gave her a very tiny smile before she left.

Inu Yasha sighed heavily and glanced at his watch again before cursing. Wasn't it time to go home yet? He sighed heavily and stood up, walking away from his couch. Might as well kill some time getting lunch. He grinned as he left his office, walking down the hall. I can set up the date with Kagome over lunch.

He hurriedly left the building and got into his car, driving the short distance to Kagome's work. He parked across the street before entering the diner, looking around for Kagome. He found her carrying a tray in one hand overflowing with dirty dishes, and several more dirty plates in the other hand. An amused smile graced his lips as he saw her walking as quickly as she could to the back of the kitchen, trying to get there before she dropped the dishes. However, out of nowhere a kid ran in front of Kagome, causing her to loose her balance. Inu Yasha was behind her in a second, one of his hands grabbing the tray while his other arm snaked around her waist to keep her from falling. Kagome had crushed the other dishes to her chest in hopes of preventing them from dropping and breaking.

She gasped slightly when she recovered her footing, and turned her head to see Inu Yasha. "Thanks." She said breathlessly.

He grinned down at her. "No problem." He slowly released her, dragging his one hand across her firm stomach just for fun, and Kagome took a step away from him.

He took the tray from her and she removed her arm holding the dishes from her chest, only to groan in annoyance. She lowered the dishes even more, and Inu Yasha laughed out loud. Her uniform was covered in partially eaten breakfast foods. Eggs, pancakes and syrup, bits of bacon, and Inu Yasha could see some green clovers, red hearts, and rainbow marshmallows on her right breast.

She half heartedly brushed some off with her free hand and said, "Great. Just great." Sighing, she said, "I don't want to be rude, but now isn't a great time, Inu Yasha."

He nodded his head. "I can see that. But I won't take long. How about we talk while you change your uniform." Her eyes widened slightly and a slight blush stained her cheeks and Inu Yasha smirked. "Hey, I wasn't planning on watching, but if you want me too…"

Kagome gasped and glared at him. "Don't even think about it." He chuckled and she turned around. "Wait here." She mumbled as she walked away.

He set the tray down on an empty table and waited. A few minutes later Kagome came back around the corner and motioned for him to follow her. He followed her to the back entrance to the kitchen and into the back office. He continued to follow her behind a curtain that was hanging from the ceiling, but she put up her hand to stop him. "Stop right there. Now, what do you want to talk about?" She disappeared behind the curtain, and Inu Yasha could hear her removing her shirt.

He cleared his throat to clear his head as he tried not to think about Kagome without her clothes on. Hey, he was a guy, wasn't he? "Date number two." He called out.

He distinctly heard her actions slow slightly and she sighed. "O…kay."

He frowned slightly but said nothing about it. "Tomorrow night good for you?"

Kagome put on the new work short and frowned slightly. The only spare outfit, and it's to small. She realized she hadn't answered Inu Yasha yet and called out, "Um, sure, I don't think I'm working."

Inu Yasha grinned. "Good." He wasn't sure what else to say, though he felt stupid for going there and saying so little. He sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. Inu Yasha waited a few seconds before saying, "Aren't you done yet? You've got to be the slowest dresser in the world."

Kagome ripped the curtain open and glared. Inu Yasha's eyes widened and his breath caught in his throat. The shirt, obviously a size to small, hugged her breasts tightly and showed just a hint of skin between the hem and the top of her skirt. Her messy hair spilled around her shoulders, and her narrowed eyes made her just to damn sexy in his eyes.

He grinned toothily at her. "Hello."

She lifted her hands to put her hair back in a ponytail and said, "Okay, we talked. Now go."

Inu Yasha laughed. "Alright alright, I'm leaving." He walked towards the exit, but stopped and turned around. He put one arm around Kagome's waist and tugged her towards him. Kissing her on the cheek he muttered, "See you tomorrow night."

Kagome blinked and nodded slowly as he left.

Inu Yasha chuckled to himself as he drove back to work. He loved startling her by doing the smallest things, like kissing her cheek. I can't wait till I finally kiss her. I'll kiss the pants off of her! He couldn't help grin some more, but rolled his eyes at himself all the same.

Back at his office, he found a folder on his desk. He opened it and saw the all to familiar information of someone that had information that Sesshomaru needed. He picked up the folder and stuck it under his arm. He opened his desk drawer to remove his gun, but the remembered that this target wasn't a human. A sadistic smile graced his lips. Good. He hadn't had a good fight in a while.

Inu Yasha drove to the designated underground parking area to find the target, grabbing a burger from a fast food place on the way, since Kagome had kicked him out of the diner. As he finished eating his burger in his car, he saw who he was looking for.

A male demon had walked out of the building across the street and was walking towards a car near Inu Yasha's. Before he could even unlock the doors, Inu Yasha was behind him.

"Bankotsu, I presume?"

The demon stopped and turned around slowly. He smirked. "And who are you?"

Inu Yasha smirked as well. "Inu Yasha. I believe you have some information that Sesshomaru wants."

Bankotsu paled slightly. "Never heard of him."

He turned around, but Inu Yasha grabbed him by the shoulders and whipped him around again. "I beg to differ." Without warning, he lifted him off his feet and threw him across the parking garage.

Surprised by the suddenness, Bankotsu landed painfully on his side, but jumped up immediately. He growled low in his throat and ran at Inu Yasha. He caught him around the middle and slammed him into the car, making an incredible dent in the side. Inu Yasha huffed slightly and slammed his fists down onto the demon's back. He slammed onto the ground and Inu Yasha grabbed him by the clothes, spun him around, and slammed him painfully onto the hood of the car.

"Know who I'm talking about now?" He asked, smirking.

Bankotsu groaned, but glared all the same. "Go to hell."

Inu Yasha's smirk grew wider. Grabbing Bankotsu by the collar, he heaved him off the car and sent him flying to the opposite wall.

Sango settled comfortably in am empty office across from where her target was. She peered through the blinds and saw him sitting at his desk. Little was known to her as to what this man had done, but she knew that Sesshomaru wouldn't expect her to go out and kill an innocent, demon or otherwise. Glancing down at the enormous boomerang she used as a weapon for the demons, she sighed and stood up. In approximately five minutes time, her target was going to get up, tell his secretary he was going to the bakery around the corner, and walk across the street to the other office building. There, he was expecting to find a man with an underage girl who understood this language less than what was happening to her. His new play thing for the month.

This particular demon had been buying girls from the black market for nearly a year now, yet nothing has been able to be done about it before because no one came forward with enough information. Inu Yasha had been searching about and gathered all that he could, but it was never enough, and the informants had to be disposed of immediately in case they snitched, so they were therefore useless.

The girls that were being bought were more often than not human runaways. Usually around sixteen years old, they were taken out of their home country entirely, brought to a new place with a new language, and prettied up for potential buyers. They then had their pictures taken, which were passed around demons who were interested, and kept in an underground apartment until they were chosen. Then, sold.

Sango saw the man glance at his watch and she began making her way down to the basement where the deal would be done. She settled in a dark corner and waited in silence. Soon enough, the trading demon and a scared looking teen arrived. Sango could hear the girl whimpering softly, and the man scolding her to shut up. When she didn't, he struck her. Sango glared from her corner. She was only authorized to kill the buying demon, since the trading demon would have no idea as to what would happen afterwards, but how she wished to off him right now. Of course, that would be to risky. There was no possible chance for Sango to kill him and not rouse suspicion from the others, and they would flee to another place instantly to conduct business, and Sango would be back at square one.

Finally, the door opened, and the demon walked in. Musou held the briefcase of money in one hand and straightened his suit with the other. His eyes ran over the fearful girl and he smirked. "Gatenmaru. Nice to see you again."

They shook hands and Gatenmaru held his hands out to the girl. "Well, here she is."

Musou slowly walked around the girl, looking her up an down. She was dressed how all his other play things were dressed. A black silky dress showing off her curves, going mid-thigh and spaghetti straps. "Excellent." He handed Gatenmaru the briefcase and said, "One hundred thousand, as usual."

Gatenmaru opened it and did a quick count. He nodded, shut the briefcase, and said, "Well then I'll leave you to it. Let us know when you're down with her and need another." He smirked and left.

Inu Yasha grunted slightly as Bankotsu caught him around the middle and slammed him into a pillar, which crumbled from the pressure. He kicked away quickly and leapt out of his grasp. Charging at each other, they met with a sickening crunch before Inu Yasha got the upper hand and punched him furiously across the room. Bankotsu fell to a crumpled heap and Inu Yasha was beside him in a second. He lifted him up and slammed him to the ground. Bankotsu spat out blood and gasped, "Okay! I give up!"

Inu Yasha scowled slightly. "Oh come on, is that all you've got? I haven't even broken a sweat."

Bankotsu glared and rose to his feet. "Fucking bastard!" He charged Inu Yasha, who was smirking.

Sango readied her giant boomerang and waited for the perfect opportunity to strike. Normally, Musou should have been able to sniff her out, but he was to focused on the girl to realize that another human was there. Lucky for Sango.

Musou walked slowly around the trembling teen staring hungrily at her. He reached out and stroked her neck, grinning when she flinched. "No need to worry right now my dear. I won't strike you." His grin grew wider. "Unless you put up a fight. In which was, I'll be happy to get rough with you."

The girl, although had no idea what was being said to her, had a pretty good idea as to what was coming. She stood rooted on the spot, however, for fear of being hit. Months in the underground apartment taught her that resistance lead to violence.

Sango clenched her jaw tightly, waiting. She couldn't jump out to soon, or she'd ruin her chance to kill him. Only once before had she rushed into the kill, and looked rather quickly that it was a losing battle for her to fight a demon. She caught him off guard and was able to wound him before killing him, but did not come out unscathed. So now, she waits until she is absolutely certain.

Finally, she spotted her chance. Musou had his back to her while he looked at his toy. It would be difficult to avoid the girl, but Sango felt that she wasn't going to get another chance. She gripped her boomerang slightly tighter before jumping out of her hiding spot. She flung it as hard as she could, but unfortunately miscalculated just slightly.

The boomerang flew towards the target, but turned to soon and merely scraped his shoulder. Enraged, Musou turned around and spotted Sango. "Who the fuck are you?!" He screamed as she caught the boomerang.

Sango readied herself again and said, "Unimportant. All you need to know is that you'll never be able to hurt another innocent girl again."

Musou glared, but before he hand time to act, Sango threw the boomerang again. The girl screamed and stumbled backwards slightly. The boomerang caught Musou perfectly this time, slicing cleanly in half through the stomach. Blood splattered the girl and she burst into tears. Just like that it was over. As almost every time, Sango's duty is quick, which she is thankful for.

Sango caught her weapon and wiped the blood from it as she walked to the girl, who fell to the floor sobbing. Sighing, Sango knelt beside the girl and brought her to her feet. She wiped the blood from her cheeks and even though the girl couldn't understand her, said, "It's over now. Go home. Find your family. You're safe now."

The girl looked at her through watery eyes and said nothing. Sango took an envelope out of her back pocket and handed it to her. It was full of money and a plane ticket to the girls home country. At that precise moment, the clean up crew arrived. Sango said without even looking up, "One victim, single blow, minimal blood. She's the only witness." The crew nodded and they all set to work. Two removed the body pieces, four began cleaning, and the others came to the young girl's aid. The bilingual of the group began explaining all that she could, and Sango left. No reason to stick around.

Inu Yasha smirked down at the bloody Bankotsu and said, "See? Now that wasn't so hard."

Bankotsu glared up at him but said nothing. He had soon cracked and told Inu Yasha everything he needed to know, although not without causing some damage to Inu Yasha first. He winced slightly but said, "Well, now that I have all I need, I think that we're done." And without warning, he grabbed Bankotsu by the clothes, threw him into the air, and sliced his body into pieces with his claws.

Inu Yasha smirked to himself and looked up as the cleaning crew arrived. He wiped the blood off his hand and said, "You're early."

One of the demons nodded. "We just got finished with Sango's."

Inu Yasha nodded, gave the information, and left for his office.
