InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Leaves and Roots ❯ Green and Pink ( Chapter 3 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I don't remember the height Shippo used to be, so I'm just going to guess wildly and correct it later, if I can.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters or scenery or butterflies or whatknot. I am just borrowing them. They belong to Miss Takahashi.
However, there are at least.....Three characters that DO belong to me, but you have only seen the eyes of one of them so far. They'll all come out to play eventually. :)

The emerald eyes looked cirtically at the creatures below. Currently, they were glaring at a few village girls that were collecting water from a well. From the tree limbs, the eyes saw every fault in the humans' features and never saw any beauty or power. They were weak and ugly.
Or were they?
The eyes searched for some form of power that the creatures held. There was none to the naked eye that could be seen. But these eyes, they were eyes of wisdom. They were eyes from another time- far into the future. They knew what these creatures were capable of.
In the short peroiod of time of time they live, they can produce many heirs to make up for not only their lack of time in the living world, but also the spirit- which, in most of them, lasts forever. Even in death. With every courageous, loyal, loving character that perishes from the world, nearly millions more are made. And not just those with good in their hearts. The sick, twisted ones were reborn every day, as well. Together, in good and evil, malice and purity spread through the world in the form of these beings.
They traveled in both packs, and in singles. Sometimes--- most of the time--- they didn't travel at all. They settled in towns, little huts, and camps all clustered together. Those who stayed in their packs combined their strengths in both the physical and mental sense. They were stronger in numbers. Staggering numbers, at that. The race of humans were growing rapidly, and they would, undoubtedly, conquer the world one day. These eyes had seen it- massive buildings, tall buildings, short and wide and monumental buildings. It seemed their world revolved around their ability to create, to explore. And, most importantly, to unwillingly and unwittingly destroy.
Everything. Everything loved in this world of demons and other creatures will one day be destroyed. And all by these pathetic, unkowledgable, and ugly human beings.
A haughty 'huff' echoed through the air, unheard of by any living creature but the one issuing the irritated sound. Emerald eyes glared down at the retreating backs of the humans.
The dark figure in the tree tops, with burning emerald green eyes, turned and stalked off to the edge of the branch. The figure hunched low to the branch, leg muscles recoiling, something long twitching and swinging behind them, and shot off far into the distance in a blur of orange and brown.
And was gone.

Shippo stretched on Kaede's shoulder before hopping down, struting on all fours towards the approaching Kagome and Inuyasha. He paused, sticking his nose in the air to catch a whiff of their scents.
Hmm. Inuyasha's scent was on edge and wary, whereas Kagome's was frustrated and...sad? The kitsune watched as the pair walked towards him. Eyeing Inuyasha in an accusing manner, he lept unto Kagome's shoulder. He winced when he heard the slight 'hmph' from the miko. Apparently, he was getting to heavy to jump up on her shoulder like he used to.
He stared down at his hands while Sango and Kagome started chatting. His little paws. They didn't seem so little to him anymore. He was proud, to say the least. He liked knowing that he was growing bigger- and he secretly hoped he would grow up strong like Inuyasha, and make him and Kagome and the rest of them proud. It was the only dream he ever had. To make his 'parents' proud.
The kit gazed proudly at his adopted father, Inuyasha. He waited until the hanyou looked his way before coiling his legs and pouncing unto the strong muscles on Inuyasha's shoulders. Crouching comfortably on Inuyasha's shoulder, he was level with his eyes. He remembered when he only went up to Inuyasha's nose.
Flashing Inuyasha a grin, which earned him a curious glare, he stretched and lay draped over Inuyasha's shoulder. Comfortable, he watched through bored, half lidded eyes as the group stalked idly towards the hut. Sango and Kagome offered to go fetch Kiara and the 'pick nick' basket that Kagome had brought from her time, and so Kaede led the males through some path in the woods.
Looking at Inuyasha, he noted that the hanyou seemed to know where they were and was totaly relaxed. Glancing at Miroku, he could tell the monk was trying to memorize the path. He entertained a few thoughts as to why he would want to memorize the path. Maybe for the romanctic setting? He glanced around. It was a nice walk, full of green trees and flowers of all colors scattered around their feet. He noticed the monk staring thoughtfully at a patch of particularly pretty pink and white flowers nestled in a nice, protective batch of thorns and bushes nearby. He chuckled to himself, knowing exactly what the monk was thinking. Those flowers were the perfect match for Sango. Hard to get to, but enbearably beautiful once reached.

Okay, I'm stopping here for this chapter. I'm going to keep the chapters short and sweet for now. I don't really have the time to sit for hours on end and just type and type and type nonstop. And I most certainly don't have the time to keep going over and looking for mistakes for long chapters. And, for the total of all of my THREE readers, I hope you enjoyed this incredibly SHORT chapter.
Until next time!
unistar- Thank you for the review. I'm glad you think my story is interesting. ^_^
AnimePrincessInuLover- Thank you for the review, and for your enthusiasm. ^_^
