She hit him through the heart with an arrow.seemed to slow down as an opponent ran toward Kagome - sword drawn - prepared to strike. Kagome gasped for breath as she realized just whom her attacker was . . . It was her previous fiance . . . Kouga.slashed at Kagomes chest; she quickly put her arm up to block, and he left quite a gash in her bright forearm. She sucked in a strangled breath through her clenched teeth and countered with an arrow - however, she was far too frustrated and it was a poor shot that he easily avoided. sent another slash her way and she jumped aside, knocking out another enemy in the process.sounds of scraping metal, steel through skin, and blood splashing against the hard ground, seemed to slow as Kagome watched Kouga dash towards her. She stumbled and fell, watching as Kouga came down on her. Kagome squinted her eyes, waiting for the end.what seemed like an hour but was more like thirty seconds, Kagome heard a strained "Get inside, wench." opening her eyes she saw long flowing hair, and followed it to the back of Inuyashas head. She smiled slightly, scrambling to stand up.. . . " she turned to see Souta. "They've stopped. They've stopped attacking." he said breathlessly.Kagome stood beside her brother; the rest of the army falling in formation behind them.master has claimed a new opponent." one member said. "Now we wait for new orders."Kagome came up with dumbly.the battle waged on. Inuyasha attacked with his Blades of Blood, which Kouga dodged effortlessly. Kouga came back with his own wolf kick (his sword was now lying on the ground in pieces; courtesy of our hanyou). Inuyasha avoided getting his vitals hit but he still didn't avoid the attack entirely.heavily the hanyou rose from the ground.go inside. See how the wounded are doing." Kagome turned to her brother, "And thank you."what Kagome?" convincing Father to go to battle. He wouldn't listen to me, but you . . . " she brushed his bangs out of his face, smiling warmly at him. "Thank you." she repeated, sniffing slightly. "Now go." Kagome."turned her attention back to Inuyasha. He was on the ground - Kouga above him - strangling him. Kagome jumped on Kouga's back and yanked him off Inuyasha. battle is with me!"Will you never learn? Let me kill the mutt and take your land, that is the true battle!"you leave me no choice." thought the last line just added a dramatic flair." Kouga stated maliciously .ran to the inured hanyou. He had stood up and tried to attack with his Iron Reaver - Kouga sense him and sent a shock of demonic energy right to Inuyasha's heart.. . " Inuyasha voice came out as a growl. "GET OUT!" he barked.obeyed and ran up toward the fort. eyes flashed crimson and he growled deeply. Kouga was a bit taken aback by the sudden change in Inuyashas aura. It seemed at first that he had been only playing around with Kouga, now Kouga knew he was trying. It was time to get serious.lost control of his senses - not something he enjoyed doing. He felt his anger pulsing and he could only concentrate on one thing . . . eliminate Kouga. He ran madly at Kouga, hitting anything in his way with fatal attack. Kouga ordered his men to flee the battle field, Kagomes men were long gone. Kouga dodged Inuyashas attack, barely. He jumped into a tree, staring down at the disoriented hanyou. Inuyasha felt Kouga's presence above him and jumped into the tree, coming face-to-face with Kouga. Inuyasha smiled maliciously at the wolf before lunging out with his elongated claws. Kouga did a back flip out of the tree and ran. Inuyasha caught up with him and tried to slice him with his claws. Kouga quickly turned around and jumped backwards, flying momentarily through the air. He was scratched, but he wasn't harmed. He decided to play the offense and turned the tables. Kouga ran toward Inuyasha, startling him and began attacking with his wolf wind. Which wasn't so much an attack as running straight for the hanyou in hopes he dodge and fall. Inuyasha did dodge, but remained steady. Inuyasha then charged at Kouga, much as he had just done, only Kouga wasn't fast enough. Inuyasha then clawed him to the ground. Inuyasha hovered above him, pinning him to the ground, and began clawing at his chest, arms, face, anything within his reach. He was in a blind rage and nothing could stop him. Kouga was going to die.Kagome ran out onto the field. Inuyasha heard his name from a far off place. Where was he? Who was that voice? He closed his eyes and reopened them. Kagome watched as a hint of amber ran through his crimson eyes. She sighed with relief and walked closer. "Inuyasha. Death is too good for him. Please, come back to reality." he growled slowly but stood up. Then his eyes became honey and he looked around at the ground. Kouga's blood was every where, he looked at his hands and clothes, also covered in his and Kouga's blood. "You okay?" Kagome asked. hmm." he nodded.will never give up. Not as long as I am living." Kouga rolled on the ground, trying to stand, but he was far too injured to do much more than whine loudly.Kagome put a foot squarely on his chest. "Surrender." she ordered.

"Surrender or I'll kill you myself."don't have the guts." he prayed he wasn't wrong.I have the guts." she stepped off his chest, kneeling down to the ground, whispering into his ear, "But I'm not like you." she stood back up and looked down at him once more. "Surrender."looked up into her eyes, and the faces of all those surrounding her - who had come out of the fort behind her. Kouga finally sighed, "Fine. Take the land. Father will not be pleased." he mumbled.am sorry, what did you say?" Kagome asked, putting a hand to her ear.surrender." he stated loud and clearly.smiled as cheers from the army overtook the field. Shippo ran into Kagomes arms and nuzzled against her neck, earning a low growl from Inuyasha. Kagome shook her head as she played with Shippo. Miroku came out to give Kagome a big hug, and she hugged him back graciously. Kagome then proceeded to hug Sango, Sesshomaru, Souta, and every individual in her army. After hugging thirty or so army members Inuyasha became agitated. He grabbed Kagomes arm and pulled her to his body, whispering in her ear.know . . . I didn't get my hug yet." his voice was seductive and low.you rather I give you a hug now? Or a special treat later?" she giggled as he released her. Inuyasha lips quirked into a smile as he walked to the stream to free himself of blood.§¤*~see . . ." the King sat on his throne, looking very important. "KAGOME!" he yelled. came running in gracefully, well as gracefully as she could muster running in heals. "Yes your highness?"here tells me that you are the one that wanted to go to battle." Kagome looked over at Souta with an 'I'm going to kill you' look. "Is it true? Answer me."

"Yes Sir. If I could explain, you see -"Souta has all ready explained." he stood up before his kneeling daughter. "Kagome, though I highly disapprove of Inuyasha, and what he is, I understand he brought down Kouga. Therefore, you have my permission to allow him into our lands, and to . . . marry him. If you choose." Kagome looked up at her Father.you mean that Sir? No arranged marriages? No hatred toward me?"will always disapprove of the Hanyou, and of your being with him on such a level. However, Souta has showed me that Inuyasha is a kind young . . . hanyou. He has the strength, courage, and willpower that it takes to be King, and he will make a fine one when I am gone. You may stand." Kagome rose slowly, tears welling up in her eyes. She smiled widely and hugged her Father. you." he rubbed her back and gently pat it before speaking again.are dismissed." Kagome pulled away, brushing away her tears. you Souta." she smiled before running out of the room.King sat back on his throne and looked around at the empty room. "You are dismissed too Son."you Father." Souta said, his sentence having more than one meaning, as he to left the room.§¤*~smiled to herself as she snuck up on the sleeping hanyou. He was laying by the river bank, his legs stretched out in front of him, crossed at the ankles. His hands were behind his head, while he sat upright, supported against a rock. Kagome couldn't help thinking how adorable he looked, with the sun bouncing off his hair, creating little patterns of light. She sat down beside him, and watched him twitch as the wind blew a piece of hair across his face. She covered his eyes and whispered in his ear, "Guess who." he jumped up and practically had a heart attack as he tried to slice up everything in sight. Kagome had fallen backward when he jumped up, and was now laughing on the ground.bitch, you scared me." he covered his heart and sat back down on the grassy knoll.but a simple 'hi' would have been too boring." he placed a kiss on her lips, his hand coming up to feel the soft flesh of her shoulders, and slowly around to the base of her neck. He tilted her head back, accessing deeper regions of her mouth. Kagome moaned into this kiss before pushing him away, realizing she was here for other reasons.have something to tell you." she explained.conversation starting with those words has ever come out good." he retorted.Father found out about you."didn't he all ready know?" I guess. But Souta told him about the battle, and how you beat Kouga, winning the land and saving us all from a horrible demise." she expalined.. . . " he was becoming impacient.my Father said that your stubborness, and your strong will will make fine qualities for a King. He said I am allowed to Marry you." quickly realizing she didn't know if Inuyasha wanted to be married she covered with, "Well, if you want to. But the point is, I no longer have to have an arranged marriage. Isn't that great?" she looked at Inuyashas expression.face was slightly unreadable. His eyes were dancing with passion, love, and happiness, but his face was stoic and completely contridictory of his eyes. wrong?" Kagome asked.he smiled, but Kagome could sense it was forced. "That is great." he nodded, trying to encourage that he was fine.tell me." she put her hand in his and squeezed it gently. you know why I was banished?" he asked.for being a hanyou."Well, yes and no. Before I was banished, my demonic energy took over, and I slaughtered a village. A whole village was killed at my hands. My Father tried to stick up for me but was killed shortly after. I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know how to control my anger. Sesshomaru helped a lot, more than he knows. The point is, I am always afraid it will happen again, and this time I could hurt more people, people I care about. But even with these doubts, I will try my hardest to be an honorable King. I will be Lord of both lands, as long as you are my Lady." he looked her in the eyes. She smiled and hugged him closely, tears in her eyes.she stated. He laughed and continued to hold her, never letting go.§¤*~. . . last chapter . . . what did you think? I was going to continue with this story but I think now that Kouga is down it is pretty much done. *sigh* so that took forever. I hope I didn't keep you all waiting to be disappointed. have two new stories I am working on though. Woo hoo. I like one of them, mixed feelings on the other. Also, I need to come up with some ideas for The Insideous Plot . . . I think I am going to just end it. I don't like it. Anyway, review if you like. If not I forgive you (i am a lazy reviewer. hehe).
