Ex Factors
As if things couldn't get worse. Suddenly, Leo's phone rang. The pair froze.
“I'll get it,” Kana said. She reached for his phone.
“Hello?” the nymph asked.
“Who the hell are you?” a girl's voice asked. Kana looked confused.
“Excuse me?” she asked.
“Where the hell is Leo?!”
“Leo?”
“Yes! Where the hell is he?!”
“Uh…” Kana looked down at Leo. He too had a confused look on his face.
“Who is it?” he mouthed. She shook her head. More yelling came over the phone. Kana half-listened by then. Leo reached up for the phone. She reluctantly gave it to him.
“Hello?” Leo asked.
“Leo?” the girl asked. Ice ran through his veins. No… Oh no.
“How did you get this number?” he asked.
“Just by looking around,” the girl said. Leo quickly sat up. Kana saw how worried he looked. The call didn't last long. He hung up looking pale.
“Who was that?” Kana asked. He slowly turned his head.
“My ex,” he said.
“Huh?” Kana asked.

A girl with red hair smiled as she looked at her phone. She couldn't believe how lucky she got. He still had the same number. He still remembered her. There was just one problem.
Who was that girl on the phone? It wasn't his sister or mom. That definitely wasn't his niece. Who was she? The girl gritted her teeth. If this was another girlfriend, she was going to scream.
But then she took a breath. Maybe it wasn't that. Only one way to see. She quietly headed out of her apartment.

“Your ex?” Kana asked. Leo sighed.
“Yeah,” he said. The boy rubbed his forehead. Kana didn't ask.
“Jenny,” Leo said. The pair looked at each other.
“My ex,” he said. “Jenny was what she called herself.”
“Oh…” the nymph said.
“She was a terror,” he added. “We only dated for three weeks. I don't know what I saw in her.”
“Oh…” Kana said again. Suddenly, the doorbell buzzed. Leo and Kana looked at each other. He had only one thought in mind.
“Do you want me to get it?” Kana asked.
“No!” Leo said. He held up his hand.
“Let me get it,” the boy said.
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yeah,” Leo said. “She'll eat you alive if she saw you. Hang on.” He climbed out of his futon. After he got dressed, the boy made it down the hall. The front door might as well have been a portal to hell. It might not be her. The buzzer buzzed again. Leo took a breath. He reached out and opened the door.
A girl with red-dyed hair stood in the doorway with her arms folded across her chest with an angry scowl on her face. Leo nervously laughed.
“Uh… hi… Jenny,” he said.
“Who the fuck was that girl I spoke to on the phone?” she asked in a cold tone. Leo froze. Oh boy…
