Sorrow Through His Eyes Part II





It's been a week and InuYasha still is living with Sesshomaru and he went on a couple dates but none of them lasted more than a day. Kagome is doing the best she can do trying to find reasons for Yash to come over her house. But he quickly got wise to that and stop coming over so Kagome just drop Aki at Sesshomaru's. InuYasha haven't said a sentence to Kagome for the last three days. Damn, he won't even look at her. So that you're caught up. Let the story begin.











Kagom e woke up a little early than she rather would. She hated going to asleep because she dreamed about him. That's why she woke up at 7am the sooner they were over the better. Kagome walked downstairs to the kitchen and decided to make herself a cup of coffee for which she wanted to stay up and end those dreams. She sat down at the breakfast table with her head in her palm as she stared at the steam coming from the mug of dark coffee before her.

''6 more hours. I can't wait." Kagome said sarcastically.

Today on this Sunday morning Kagome simply had to go to this family get together. Her mom insisted that she went and bring the whole family but there was one problem with that......no InuYasha. She sat there contemplating on how she was gonna get her husband there who right now at the moment hated her guts. Kagome sighed and sipped the, now cool, coffee. She then heard a knock at the door.

"Who in the hell could be knocking at my door at 7:30 in the damn morning."

Kagome got up and opened the door to find InuYasha with his head turned away from her as usual. Kagome immediately perked up.

"InuYasha."

"Don't get too happy. I just came over to get some more of my stuff." InuYasha walked pasted her shrugging her out of the way a little.

Kagome shut the door with a small smile on her face. "InuYasha? Can you do me a small favor."

"No.'' Inuyasha said harshly.

"Please." She said in a soft whisper as small tear trailed down her cheek.

InuYasha felt her soft voice ring through his ears and sighed. "What is it."

Kagome smiled a bit.

"My mom wants me to go to a family get together and I was wondering if....."

"No." InuYasha said quickly as he figured what she was asking him to do.

"Please InuYasha." Kagome pleaded.

"Kagome I'm not going to go to some damn family picnic and pretend like everything's okay."

"InuYasha please. You don't have to do it for me. You can do it for my mom because you know how much she loves you."

InuYasha sighed. He knew Mrs. Higurashi loved him and treated him like her own son. After his mother died Mrs. Higurashi gave him the feeling of a mother again.

"Okay. But only for your mother. But after that I want a divorce. Sesshomarus's already handling it." InuYasha said as he rustled through the closet and in the clothes basket grabbing some garments.

"What?! Are you serious! But what about Aki." Kagome as tears gathered at her eyes and in her voice.

InuYasha stopped his movements and stood still for a moment looking at Kagome from the corner of his eye. "I want full custody of her."

"No!! Absolutely not!"

InuYasha began to gather more things. ''Kagome, we can do this the easy or we can do this hard way. I have the upper hand here. I'm a full time worker and I recently bought a house but I just need some money for furniture. You have a history of alchol addiction, you're barely paying the bills, and you committed adultry. So see I think it's best for me to keep Aki. I'll even pay off for the house and let you keep the car and everything."

"Fuck the house and the car! I want my daughter!"

"And I wanted trust." InuYasha said in low sorrowful voice. He walked up to Kagome with a pile of clothes and objects in his arm. He looked dead in her eye with the most hateful look then walked out the house.








Later on that day Kagome was looking through her closet trying to find the best outfit to impress InuYasha. She came across a blue summer dress and sighed sadly running her hands through the fabric. She shook her head and skipped over it. She took out a light blue crop top blouse, some tight fitting jeans, and to top it all off some blue Manolo heels She laid it on the bed looking happily at her outfit. She gazed over to the clock it read 12:30 and rushed into the bathroom to take a shower. After Kagome got out of the shower she threw on her clothes and went into Aki's room finding her sitting on the bed in a pink skirt and shirt.

"Come on, Aki. We got to go" Kagome looked at the sad expression on her daughters face. "What's wrong,sweetie."

"Are you and daddy getting a divorce?''

Kagome sighed. "Um....I believe so.''

"But why?'' Aki asked innocently.

Kagome tried to find a way to explain this situation. "Well...um.....I hurt daddy's feelings and he's mad at me."

"You can just apowagize."

"I did, but sometimes apologizing isn't enough. Now come on or were gonna be late."

Aki sadly nodded and hopped off of her bed and followed her mother downstairs. Kagome stopped at the bottom of the steps and a smile came across her lips.

''Daddy!!" Aki said running into InuYasha's arms.

He picked her up and threw her over his shoulders. "What's up, kiddo."

All the thoughts of divorce left her head she was too happy to see her daddy. InuYasha stared at Kagome for a slight moment as he realized what she had on.

He sighed. God, she looks great.

Kagome smiled because she knew that her outfit got to him a little bit by the way he glanced at her. He shook his head and looked over to his daughter's cheery face.

"Shall we go?"

"Yay" Aki through her hands in the air as he left out of the door and to the red drop top Corvette.

Kagome followed as she closed the door to the house. She turned and InuYasha and Aki was already in the car laughing and smiling. Kagome smiled because it was the first time in awhile that she's seen him happy. She started to walk to the car.

"What are you doing?'' InuYasha said looking at his car door.

"I'm getting into the car."

"You have a car."

Kagome scoffed. "Are you serious?!"

InuYasha started the ignition then gave Kagome a glare as he drove off. Kagome watched the car speed off into the horizon. She looked up into the sky.

''I don't believe this."

She got into her silver Pacifica and drove off in the opposite direction.








Later on Kagome pulled up to the shrine a little earlier than InuYasha did because she took a shortcut. Then InuYasha pulled up seeing Kagome leaning against the car as the Sunday sun washed her body making it glisten in it's perfection. He got out the car then helped Aki out the car as he picked her up and threw her over his broad shoulders. Kagome looked at him with her soft stormy eyes. InuYasha stared at them for awhile taking them in then turned as he walked up the steps. Kagome sighed and quickly followed making her heels click and clack. When they reached the backyard it was filled with the Higurashi family. All of Kagome's aunts, uncles, cousins (Mostly on her fathers side). Mrs. Higurashi spotted her daughter and quickly ran over to them.

"Kagome!" She gave her a hug then looked her up and down. "What in heavens name are you wearing."

Kagome blushed. "Sorry."

"Don't be. You look great."

She turned to InuYasha and also gave him a hug.

"Hey, Mrs Hig......"

She gave him a glare.

"Hey, mom."

Mrs. Higurashi smiled and pinced his cheeks. "That's my sweet little son-in-law."

"You forgot about me, grandma" said Aki.

Mrs. Higurashi looked up to Aki and smiled. "Hey. How's my favorite granddaughter."

"I'm your only granddaughter."

"That's why you're my favorite." she kissed her on the forehead.

"I think somebody here you're gonna want to meet, Kagome"

"Who?" Kagome asked

She pointed to a tall guy with short black hair and a girl with golden hair and sky blue eyes laughing and talking. Kagome's eyes widened. She ran over to the couple as InuYasha followed with Aki stradled on his shoulders.

"Souta!!"

The guy turned around and smiled

"Kagome!" Souta said as he gave her hug.

Then he turned to InuYasha.

"Hey, kid." InuYasha said as he shook Souta's hand.

"Hey, I'm not a kid anymore."

InuYasha nodded at Souta. "I guess so. Good to see you again."

InuYasha couldn't believe how much Souta had grown. He remembered how he was always a snotty little kid running up behind him every minute.

"I haven't seen you since you went to America. Who's this?'' Kagome said as she turned to the lady with the golden hair and smiled.

"This is my wife, Megan. She's american."

"Oh, Hi....I'm...Ka...go..me" She said slowly.

"I'm American not dumb." she said.

Kagome blushed. "Sorry"

"It's quite alright. Um... I think we should go now. Right Souta?''

"Right. I'll see you later, Kagome!" He yelled as Megan dragged him off.

Seeing Megan and Souta sparked something in her heart. She had to talk to InuYasha about this divorce and since this was probably gonna be the only time she get to talk to him.

"Um...Aki?''

"Yes, Mommy?''

Kagome picked her up off InuYasha's shoulders and placed her firmly on the ground.

"Um....go play with your grandma. Me and your father need to talk."

Aki nodded and skipped off to her grandma.


Kagome turned around to find her husband sitting on a near by bench with his head turned away from her. She walked over and sat next to him. ''We need to talk.'' Kagome said sweetly

''We don't have shit to talk about. I arranged a meeting with my...our lawyer and I want you to sign the divorce papers and the right of Aki's custody."

"Why do you want to get divorced. I said I was sorry.''

InuYasha scoffed. "You said you was sorry?! Why are you acting like this isn't a big deal, like it's just spilled milk or something."

"I know it's a big deal but nothing to get divorced over."

"Yes it is!" InuYasha face was turned to the side the whole conversation and it pissed Kagome off.

"We can make it work. I know we can."

InuYasha shook his head. "You don't get it!"

"Get what!!"

"That you hurt me. Do you even know how that feels?"

Before Kagome could get a answer out InuYasha answered for her. "You don't because I never did nothing like that to you."

"I may not know what it feels like. But I know do that it hurts me when you don't even look at me. Look at me!!"

InuYasha remained his head turned away from Kagome.

"Look at me!!" Kagome grabbed his head and turned it to face her. InuYasha looked at her tear stained cheeks with cold eyes. "What do I have to do to make you love me again?!!" Kagome cried out to him.

His eye's softened and he grabbed her hands and gently removed them as he returned to his former position. He sighed as his whole body rose and fell.

"I do love you and I always will."

"Then why can't you look me in the face and tell me that?"

InuYasha turned to her with pure sorrow in his eyes. "Because every time I look at you I see him. I see him touching you and kissing you. I love you Kagome but I can't take it."

"If you love me then why are you divorcing me?"

"It's because I love you!"

"That's makes no sense."

"It's hurting me right now to even look at you. I hate that I can't even look at my wife's face." He trailed his hand over her cheek.

Kaogme closed her eyes and embraced it with hers. She opened her eyes to find tears in his. "InuYasha, you can't leave. I can't have my worst nightmare become a reality.''

He removed his hand off of her cheek. "Unfortunetly, mine already is."

Kagome kept trying to pull herself out of that hole but InuYasha kept throwing her right back down. "I love you, InuYasha!"

"If you love me. If you truly love me. Then you'll know that it hurts me to be with you and you have to let me go."

"Okay. I'll agree to the divorce.......but I get to keep Aki."

"Do you deserve her?''

Kagome looked over to her daughter laughing with her grandpa and mother.

"No.'' she whimpered.

She finally realized that she belonged in that damn hole. She didn't even deserve the conversation she was in. She knew now how much she hurt him even though she'll never feel it, and she didn't want to, she knew how much she hurt him.

"I think you know that Aki is better off with me.''

Kagome turned to face her husband. "Okay. I'll sign the papers tommorrow."

"Is 5 okay?''

Kagome nodded then hung her head. InuYasha stared off into the sky trying not to go into a conniption fit over what he did. He stared off onto his wife who head was still downcast. InuYasha took in a deep breath as he got up and left. It scarred his heart to much to see Kagome crying. He walked over to Mrs. Higurashi and Aki.

"InuYasha!" Mrs. Higurashi yelled then looked over to her daughter crying then looked back to her son-in-law's sad expression. "What happened?'' she said in a worried tone.

InuYasha cleared his throat. "Um...Aki? Go stay with your mommy, okay?''

Aki nodded cheefully then skipped over to her mother. InuYasha watched her trying to comfort Kagome then sighed and turned to face Mrs. Higurashi.

"We....well....I decided that me and Kagome should get a divorce."

"Why? You know your mother wanted you stay with Kagome."

"Mrs. Higurashi please don't put my mom in this."

"Sorry. But after all these years?''

"She.......um......she ......cheated on me."

Mrs. Higurashi just sat in silence for a while. "Oh, InuYasha." She embraced him with all of her might. "I bet you're just crushed. How could Kagome do such a thing. Well, I'm gonna have a quick talk with her."

"There's no need for that, mom''

She let go of InuYasha and nodded. "I guess she's had enough talking to. But what about Aki she's too young to experience this."

"I decided to take full custody of her. I think it's best."

"You think it's best for you take the one thing that Kagome has left of you." Mrs. Higurashi said in low voice.

InuYasha sat there taking in all of her words and then came to a conclusion.

"Yes. She deserves it." He said harshly as he walked over to his car.

He stopped and turned to look at Mrs. Higurashi who had an upset face. He couldn't stand to look at her so he went into the car and drove off.

"Mommy? Where's daddy going?''

"Far away from me."






The next day Kagome walked into her office looking worst than shit. "Bad day, again?" Sango said.

Kagome grunted and went into her office slamming it behind her. Kikyo then barged in her office as always.

"Kagome. Hakiko Tokonashi is coming tommorrow and I want you to look your best. So here."

She handed her a check. "Wow. That's a lot of money. Why are you giving me this."

"Because you can buy yourself a new dress or whatever and little bit of stuff for yourself."

"Thanks, Ms. Kikyo."

"Don't mention it."

Then she left the office. Kagome looked at the check and smiled then put it in her desk.




Meanwhile InuYasha was in his office with his head on the, now fixed, glass desk. Then Sesshomaru came in and saw his little brother sulking on the desk. He sighed and sat across from him.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this."

InuYasha sat his head. "It's the only way to free myself."

"If you ask me, the only way to free yourself is to forgive her."

InuYasha grunted. "But I didn't ask you."

"I'll come back when you get yourself together and realize who the hell you're talking to." He got and stormed out of the office.

"He must be crazy. Forgiving Kagome? That's nonsense!"

He then sighed and put his head on the cold desk. "But I did wish it was that easy."







Later on that day InuYasha was in a office sitting across from a guy in huge bifocal glasses. "Um....Mr. Taisho? I don't believe she's coming."

"Oh, she's coming." Come on Kagome. Don't bail out on me He though to himself.

Then Kagome came barging in the office. "I'm sorry."

The guy looked at his watch. "You're 25 minutes late."

"Gomen, Mr. Myouga" She bowed and sat down in the seat that was placed next to InuYasha.

"Okay. Now InuYasha asked to get the papers ready so all you guys have to do is just sign."

"What exactly am I signing for."

"Well, a divorce and his right to have custody over Aki."

"Okay. What do I get out of this."

"You get to keep the...." Mr. Myoga started going through the papers. "The house, car, um.....and the right of your last name."

"The right of my last name?'' Kagome said confused

"Oh yes Mr. InuYasha here wants to give you the right of the last name: Taisho."

"You take my daughter and the only thing I get is your last name."

InuYasha turned to Kagome with a glare. "Are you gonna sign it or what?''

Kagome took a deep breath as Mr. Myoga gave her a pen as she signed Kagome Taisho on the bottom line of the papers. She stared at her name as the ink dried on the paper. She felt a stinging pain in her heart as she saw her life crumble infront of her eyes.

"Okay, Mr InuYasha? It's your turn to sign."

Myoga slowly started to give him the pen until it was finally in his hands. InuYasha took a deep breath and looked over to Kagome then back at the papers as a beads of sweat popped out of his forehead.

Pull yourself together, Yash. I guess this is final. I mean it will have to get approved by a couple of courts but other than this is it. Then end of me and Kagome. He slowly began to sign his name until it was dried on the paper.

"Alright. That's it. Well, that's all you guys have to do."

InuYasha stared at the paper and felt a part of him slowly and painfully die. He got up and stormed out.

Kagome looked at her husband flee the office.

"InuYasha." she said softly.







InuYasha drove home gripping to the steering wheel trying to fight back the tears. "Kagome. Why do you do this to me. You bitch."

Then InuYasha gave in to his emotions and let the tears flow freely down his face. He parked in front of Sesshomaru's house. He walked up to the door and began to knock furiously even forgetting he had the key. Sesshomaru opened the door seeing InuYasha eyes blood shot red from his crying.

"You went through it." Sesshomaru stated emotionless.

InuYasha stormed in sobbing punching holes in the walls. Sesshomaru would've have gotten mad about the way InuYasha was re-decorating his living room but then he stopped and decided to let it pass for tonight.

"Why?! Why?!" InuYasha screamed with every punch until his knuckles were bloody and scarred.

InuYasha collasped to the floor just wailing.

Sesshomaru approached him. "You regret it don't you?''

InuYasha looked up to the ceiling searching for a answer. "I love Kagome. God knows I do but I hate her guts." He said in a threatening tone. "Why did you do this to me, Kagome. Why?!!!" He screamed to the sky.

Sesshomaru just shook his head. "Nothing I could say can make you feel any better right now. So I won't."

He turned and proceeded to his bedroom leaving his brother cry out his pain alone.

InuYasha wiped the tears off of his face but a fresh batch kept coming. "It's over. I can't believe it's over"

InuYasha said softly as he stared off into a picture that had him, and Kagome smiling with an emotionless Sesshomaru and his eyes softened.

"You got what you derserved but it hurts me so much more."






A/n: Aww. Poor poor Yash. God, this is sad. Excuse me I have something in my eyes. *Begins to cry holding a InuYasha plushie to her chest. Then clears throat* Sorry, but this was a chapter for InuYasha's true emotions of the situation. The next chapter gets a little better
