Chapter 12
For Her Sake
Kagome woke up and looked over to her side only to find that she was alone. Kagome frowned and got up as she lazily walked over to her closet. She yawned as she opened it and pulled out a red skirt, a sheer blouse, and some red pumps that she had bought for her interview with Hakiko Tokonashi. It was classy but it did show some thigh. She laid it on the bed and proceeded to th bathroom, but stopped at Aki's room finding it empty of the one thing that kept her sane. She sighed and made her way to the bathroom. She disrobed herself of her dark blue nightgown and turned on the shower water. She waited awhile before getting in. She let the warm water soothe her as she closed her eyes and imagined herself with InuYasha. Imagining him holding her and touching her. Kagome sighed as she knew she would never feel that warmth that only came from InuYasha.
"Why do you leave me so alone. I hope you can find it in you heart to forgive me" She opened her eyes as it was foggy from the stem from the water and from the tears flooding down her eyes.
Later that morning Kagome sat in her office waiting for Hakiko Tokonashi to some in and interview her. Then Kikyo came barging in making Kagome jump.
"Sorry for barging in."
"Um...Kikyo isn't that Hakiko coming in today?''
"See that's why I came in here. She's not gonna be able to make it until next week. They say she's sick or something."
Kagome groaned. "You mean I got all dressed up from nothing."
"You look great by the way."
"Thanks. But coming from you it might not be a compliment.”
Kikyo chuckled. “You know me so well, Kagome.” Then she left.
Kagome looked in the sky since she had nothing to do she could think and take a look at her life. “Okay. I’m getting divorced by the one man that I probably will ever love and he’s taking my daughter.”
That last part disturbed her so. She couldn’t let him take Aki, it wasn’t his place to. She sunk her head in her seat and sighed.
"That's my daughter too." She said softly as she looked upon a picture of her at the hospital looking a mess holding a blanket secured and newly born Aki.
Meanwhile InuYasha and Sesshomaru was getting ready for work while Aki was eating breakfast. “You don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”
“Sesshomaru being nice?! That’s shocking.”
“Shut the fuck up. I just feel sorry for your situation and everthing”
“Hey man. Don’t use that language around my daughter.”
“Sorry Aki.”
“It’s okay uncle Sess. Fuck”
“Aki! I don’t want you to ever use that language.”
“Sorry daddy.”
InuYasha turned to him. “Don’t be putting that type of shit in my daughters head.” He said in a low voice.
“Okay. Calm down.”
“I gotta leave to work before Kagome gets here to pick up Aki.”
“Oh, no you don’t. You’re staying here so you can get your head together.”
“You can’t tell me what to do. You’re not my boss.”
“Um...actually I am and as your boss you’re fired. Well, just for today.”
“What about Kagome. You know I can’t stand to see her right now. I might do something stupid”
“I’ll call her and tell her not to come and I’ll drop Aki off to school. Don’t worry I’ll be back. Come on Aki.”
Sesshomaru picked her up and threw her on his shoulders.
“Yay! Uncle Sess!”
Sesshomaru smiled and chuckled at the sound of Aki’s cheerful voice. Then carried her out. InuYasha laid back in the couch and smiled. He loved to see his brother and Aki together. It showed the happy side of Sess and that didn’t happen often, or at all.
Meanwhile Kagome was laid back in her chair looking at the phone wanting to call InuYasha so bad. Then she hit herself in the head. “Damn, I forgot he’s probably at work. And I should be getting going so I can drop Aki off at school on time.”
She sighed and walked out of her office. "Sango? I'm just gonna go drop Aki off at school. Please hold all my calls."
Sango nodded as she watched Kagome flee to the elevator. Meanwhile Sesshomaru was driving Aki to school. He hated to have his little niece be in the position she was in because of her foolish parents. He gazed over to her and found her staring intently.
"What are you doing?''
"Nothing." She said sweetly.
"Well stop looking at me."
She started to giggle making Sesshomaru smile slightly. He loved being around Aki it made him so happy. Finally Sesshomaru parked in front of Shikon Elementry.
"Alright. Get out and go to school."
Aki smiled and leaned in and kissed Sesshomaru on the cheek making him blush.
"Bye Uncle Sess." Aki said opening the door.
He smiled. "Bye kiddo."
She hopped out the car and skipped happily up to the large red doors and entered the school.
Meanwhile InuYasha was laid out on his couch. Then he heard a knock at the door. "Sess's here already."
He jumped up and went to the door and opened it only finding Kagome standing there just as stunned as he was.
"Um....I thought you would be at work by now."
God, she's looks gorgeous
He stared at her for a minute taking in her look. Then turned quickly away.
"Um.. I guess I can just pick up Aki so I can drop her off and be on my way."
"She's not here. Sesshomaru took her."
Kagome held her head down. InuYasha stole another glance at her because he had to admit she was looking better today than she usually did. He then turned quickly because he knew that he would probably do something stupid.
"You can go now since Aki isn't here."
Kagome didn't want to go not yet. She wanted to see him and maybe even have a 'real' conversation with him.
"Um...can I come in?'' She asked sweetly.
"Why." He said cold still looking away.
"I need to use the bathroom?'' She said hoping he would let her in.
InuYasha chuckled lightly to himself then got out of the way to let Kagome in. She smiled as she entered and InuYasha walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Come here."
"Huh?'' Kagome swung around to see InuYasha sitting on the couch.
''I know you don't have to go to the bathroom. So come here."
InuYasha knew he was being blinded by the love of Kagome and didn't know exactly what he was doing.
Why is InuYasha acting so nice. I don't know he might have a gun and try to kill me right here and now
She nervously walked over and sat next to him, but not too close.
"So why you dressed like that. I mean you look nice and stuff." InuYasha said the last part in a low voice.
Kagome looked down to her outfit then back at InuYasha. "Um......an interview with that new magazine."
InuYasha looked down at ther smooth milky legs then trailed off to her thighs that were leading up to something much more. He cleared his throat and straightened his collar.
"So how'd the interview go.''
"It didn't go. She didn't come."
"Mmm'' was all he could say as he inhaled in her sweet scent of peaches and cream. Kagome leaned in closer to Inuyasha. He quickly moved over.
"W...What are you doing."
"I miss you InuYasha." Kagome said in a low whisper as she got closer to him.
The smell of her sweet scent mixed in with her sweet arousal was drowning InuYasha in passion.
"I've missed,too." He said in a low ragged voice.
Kagome got closer to him as they were inchs away feeling each others breath on one another. Their lips brushed past each other's lightly. Kagome couldn't hold on any longer as she captured his lips into hers rolling her tongue over his bottom lip begging for entrance. InuYasha gave in as he opened his mouth and shot his tongue in her mouth swirling it enjoying the taste that he have missed so much. He leaned back on the couch taking Kagome with him. She stradled him while massaging the growing bulge inbetween his legs. InuYasha groaned in the back of his throat then began to caress her hips moving her closer into him making their pelvis grind into each other.
Then Sesshomaru used his key and opened to the door only to find his brother and Kagome making out on the couch. InuYasha saw Sesshomaru's sly grin and jumped up. Kagome gasped and got up.
"I guess I'll go." She grabbed her purse and ran out the door past Sesshomaru. He turned around watching Kagome flee to her car then back at his brother who was standing there a little bit off beat.
He chuckled and closed his door exiting out the sun making the room a dark amber from the shaded windows.
"So....." Sesshomaru took of his grey bussiness jacket and laid it on the nail that was glued to the wall.
"So what?" InuYasha said harshly.
"So I think it's a little bit early for booty calls."
InuYasha scoffed. "Shut up. It was nothing like that."
"Then what is it like, InuYasha?''
"Get the hell out of my bussiness. That's what it's like, okay."
InuYasha said and stormed into his bedroom and threw himself on the small full sized bed. InuYasha sighed as he was getting angry with himself for what he had done. But yet he couldn't control himself no matter how hard he wanted to. His love for Kagome was completely taking over now that this has been the longest they have ever been apart since elementry. He buried his head in the soft plush pillows then falling to sleep. Sesshomaru peeped in on his brother who was sound sleep.
They're so blind by not trying to hurt themselves they can't even see who they're really hurting.' He shook his head and exited the room.
Later that evening Kagome sat at her desk and ran her slender finger tips over her lips. She licked her lips trying to savor the taste that was InuYasha. She couldn't help but smile, giggle, and be happy. How she missed the feel of his lips against hers. She laid back in her chair and sighed looking up to the ceiling and fours walls that kept her imprisoned in that awful office. Then Sango opened the door.
"Mrs. Taisho?''
"Yes, Sango?''
"Um.....Ms. Hakiko Tokonashi is on line one."
Kagome immediately got nervous and estatic at the same time.
"Thank you, Sango.''
Her faithful secretary nodded and closed the door leaving Kagome alone to defend herself against the notorious Hakiko who could make O.J. Simpson cry and admit he was guilty just by looking at him.
Kagome picked up the receiver and greeted her with a nervous ''hello''.
"Hi, Mrs. Taisho. I am so sorry for not coming this morning."
Then Kagome heard a sneeze and sniffle.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine just a small case of the flu. It'll be over soon." She said in a nasal like tone.
"Well, I hope you get better."
"Thank you and I look forward in to meeting such a beautiful woman as yourself."
Kagome chuckled nervously. "Thank....you. I think."
"Bye. Mrs. Taisho and see ya soon." Then she heard a sneeze and then the dial tone.
She hung up the receiver and laid back on her chair that right now was the only thing that comforted her.
"What a day." Kagome looked to her watch finding it was 6:00 and had another 3 hours until she was freed from her prison. She picked the receiver back up and decided to call Sesshomaru's house to talk to Aki hoping InuYasha would answer and sure enough he did.
"Hello? This is the Taisho brother's residence."
Then Kagome heard Sesshomaru dark voice from the backgroumd that made Kagome giggled softly
"No the hell it isn't. This is my house" Sesshomaru began to babble on and on.
InuYasha ignored his older brother's comments because he heard a laugh that only belonged to his love. "Kagome? Why are you calling here?''
"Um....." His voice had frozen Kagome for which she couldn't get the words out.
''Kagome,this morning was a mistake and I don't think that should happen again." InuYasha said in a low voice because it would hurt him too much to say it aloud.
Kagome forgot about that she was calling to speak with Aki and decided to take on this conversation with her ex-husband.
"How can you say that it shouldn't happen again. I love kissing you"
InuYasha felt the same way. He loved to kiss Kagome and even a little bit more than just kissing.
"I love kissing you,too. " InuYasha said in a low voice that no human ears could hear but one certain youkai could.
So Sesshomaru stopped talking because he knew InuYasha wasn't listening. He also knew that his little brother wanted his woman back and he was gonna make it his personal mission to talk InuYasha into forgiving his wife and get the hell out his house. His thoughts were broken as he heard InuYasha slamming the phone down with a low ''bitch'' escaping his lips.
"Just go back to her." Sesshomaru said as he watched his little brother walk into the kitchen.
"I can't it isn't as simple as you make it"
Sesshomaru walked into his kitchen finding InuYasha sitting at the breakfast table almost to the brink of tears. "Stop doing this to yourself. I know you want to be with her so that's what you're gonna have to do."
"I don't want to be with that wench." InuYasha couldn't help the irrepressible tears that were falling onto the white breafast table.
Then he felt a strong hand on his shoulder and looked up to see his brothers, once cold amber eyes, now were filled with concern and hope for him. "Stop denying yourself and tell me what's really on your mind."
InuYasha sighed as Sesshomaru sat down on the seat that was placed across from him. "I do want to be with, Kagome. I miss everything about her. I miss her kisses, her hugs, her smiles, just plain her."
"Then why are you sitting at my breakfast table crying about. She's only 5 miles away."
"She hurt me too much."
"So what?''
"What in the hell do you mean ''so what" "
"Why can't you two knuckle heads understand that maybe you can try it one more time, but not for each other, but for Aki....." He paused for a second looking deep into his brothers eyes. "Doesn't she deserve it?"
InuYasha held his head down not wanting to see the truth that his brother ws clearly talking. ''Aki deserves everything. And If this will make her happy then I'll do it."
"I know you secretly want to do it for yourself, too."
InuYasha sighed because he had to admit that being with her would make him happy.
Later that night Kagome got home exhausted but not from work but from the recent fight her and InuYasha had. How she wished he was here with her. Then she heard rustling in the back room.
"Who's there. InuYasha is that you?''

InuYasha held his head down not wanting to see the truth that his brother ws clearly talking. ''Aki deserves everything. And If this will make her happy then I'll do it."
"I know you secretly want to do it for yourself, too."
InuYasha sighed because he had to admit that being with her would make him happy.
Later that night Kagome got home exhausted but not from work but from the recent fight her and InuYasha had. How she wished he was here with her. Then she heard rustling in the back room.
"Who's there. InuYasha is that you?''
The that dark husky voice answered.
