Chapter 3
*Decisions*
Pounding reverberated in Kagome's mind. She jumped out of the bed, clad in nothing but a t-shirt and underwear. Rummaging through her suitcase she pulled out a pair of khaki pants that has seen better days and slipped into them as she made her way to the front door.
“Hey guys!” Kagome greeted.
“Cut the introduction. What the hell were you doing? We've been banging on the door for the past ten minutes.” Sango complained as she stepped into the apartment.
“Sorry, about that. See I accidentally fell asleep. I was cleaning at first then I thought I should try to finish this chapter that I've been working on for the past few days. Then I started to get tired and I decided to take a short nap and well, now… Yeah, I'm so sorry Sango.”
“We get it, Kagome. Don't worry about it now. Now what do you want out of here?” Miroku questioned.
“Umm. What do you think I'll need to move in to Inuyasha's place? You've been there more than I have.” Kagome wanted to know.
“Well, I guess you just need clothes, and well Inuyasha has everything except food in the kitchen.” Miroku grimaced as he thought of the many times that Inuyasha and he had to dine out for dinner.
“Thank you, Miroku,” Kagome gestured.
Kagome entered her bedroom and grabbed her suitcases, all four of them. She pushed the suitcases near the front door of the apartment.
“Well, then come on. I don't have all day, and I still have to make dinner for him.” Kagome muttered.
“You have to be kidding me. When we lived together you didn't cook. What's up with that?” Sango started.
“Well, I'm sorry but you didn't ask me if I would cook. Why are you on edge? It's like you're pissed at something. Miroku did you do anything that I should know about?” Miroku winced as if Kagome's words stung.
“No, nothing that I know of, now, which one is the heaviest suit-case?”
“That one, right there,” Kagome pointed, “Hey Sango, what do you say we do a girls night sometime soon. We haven't been hanging out a lot lately. Miro do not even get near my rear or Sango, we'll both kick your ass.” Kagome bit.
“Now, Kags, don't be hasty. I do not want to do anything perverted yet.”
“Yet, is the key word.” Kagome winced as Miroku, hugged her back-side. What the heck is this guy doing. I swear, he is the worst, ever since High.
“What the hell are you doing Miroku? You trying to piss me off even more?” Sango sniped.
“Sango, damn, calm down… now Miroku if you mind, move your arms before you won't have any.” Kagome warned.
“Alright… hand me the bag, Kag. And we'll be all set.” Miroku joked, as he pulled the lever from the suitcase and hustled it towards the steps.
“Kag? You call her Kag? How long have you been friends again?” Sango inquired.
“Too long to count believe me, way too long.” Kagome muttered distractingly as she helped Miroku with her suitcases.
“And nothing physical was between you two?”
“Sango, Love quit being foolish, but yes there was that one time.” Miroku grinned as memories flooded his mind.
“Sango, it wasn't big. Maybe like a month. Nothing happened.” Kagome added.
“Kagome, don't lie. We did have our experiments.” Miroku grinned again and Kagome blushed as she recollected the memories she thought were buried.
“Oh yeah? What kind of experiments?” Sango asked hesitantly.
“Well, we shared our first kiss. We dated for two months. Nothing serious, then we figured it was more brotherly/sisterly love than anything. We've been friends since.”
“Nothing more?” Sango dug the grave deeper.
“Yeah, that's the end of our history together. I won't forget that first kiss though, that was memorable.” Miroku smiled.
“Okay, done with Memory Lane. Come on Miro.” Kagome grabbed a suitcase and started down the stairs and left the building, Miroku following, while Sango struggling with a suitcase that wasn't cooperating. I hope that's all that happened between them, Sango thought warily.

Miro & Kags

“Miroku, I'm going to kill you, if you say anything more about our history to Sango.” Kagome threatened.
“Kagome, she's going to find out sooner or later that we lost our virginity to each other. I mean come on. We were curious. I know that the both of us wanted to know what it felt like. We were freshmen in college.” Miroku tried to reason.
“Miro, you don't understand. Sango likes you. I mean she really likes you, and I don't want to be that weird ex that `supposedly' wants you back… I mean come on.” Kagome voiced.
“Fine, then. If you really think that this would break our friendship, you're over-reacting. You know how I feel about you and yet I know what we shared can never be stolen. No matter how much you want it to be.” Miroku whispered, as Sango exited the building. He bent down a placed a peck on her cheek. Sango watched the scene play out.
“I love you,” Miroku murmured.
“So, there's absolutely nothing between you two anymore huh?” Sango asked wide-eyed as tears formed in the corner of her chocolate brown eyes.
“Sango, it's not what it looks like. I don't like him like that. You know a guy isn't supposed to come between two buds that have been friends as long as we have.” Kagome tried to reason.
Sango stormed away from the two with a blurry eye sight. There sure is nothing between them. Sango blinked away the tears and kept on running. She ran into something solid after fifteen minutes.
“Sango, what's wrong?” The voice asked.
“She lied to me; she said that there wasn't anything between them.” Sango sniveled.
“Who lied to you? What wasn't between whom?”
“Kagome and Miroku, she made me believe that he liked me. Then I find out that they have a history together.”
“Kagome and Miroku? You sure Sango? Miroku and I are buds, he would've told me.”
“Inuyasha, they're lying. They went out together for two months when they were in college. They fuckin' deflowered each other.” She wiped her nose with the back of her hand.
“Sango, calm down. Come on, let's go to my place and Miroku and Kagome will explain everything, believe me.”
“I don't want to, you can't make me. You don't understand, I like Miroku, a lot. Kagome took away the trust we had. I don't know if it can be saved.”
“Sango, calm down, come on we're going to my place.” Inuyasha supported Sango by wrapping his arm around her shoulders and escorted her back to his place. Thoughts of Kagome and Miroku together filled his head.
An hour later, Inuyasha heard the front door open and Miroku's soft voice.
“Kagome, I'm sorry. Kags, please look at me. We looked all over for her, I'm really sorry.” Miroku apologized again for what seemed like the umpteenth time since they were in search of Sango after she disappeared around the building where Kagome lived.
“Miroku?” Inuyasha questioned the air.
“Yash? God, am I glad to see you. Have you seen Sango, we've been looking everywhere for her.” Miroku asked.
“Yeah, she's in one of the guest rooms sleeping. You guys have some `splaining to do. She's pissed.” Inuyasha saved his anger, not wanting to strike his best friend.
“Take her to the living room, I'll bring Sango down so you two can explain why she's so pissed. She wouldn't even let me call you guys.” Inuyasha motioned to the stairs, ending the conversation for the moment. I don't know, if I want to know what's going on between Miroku and Kagome. Kagome of all people with that perverted ass.
“Sure thing, Yash. Kags come on.” Miroku gently guided her to a couch. Helping himself, Miroku sat on the corner of the coffee table.
“Kags, come on focus for me hon.” Miroku cupped Kagome's face and leaned his forehead against hers.
That was the sight that Inuyasha and Sango entered to. Sango automatically turned around in Inuyasha's grasp and buried her head in the crook of his shoulder and shed tears.
“Ahem!” Inuyasha cleared his throat noting to himself never to leave Miroku and Kagome in a room together. Things are not looking up for Miroku and Sango for the moment. Miroku leaped away from Kagome as if they caught him with his pants down around his ankles.
“Sorry, I'm tired. I rested my eyes for a minute. Kagome wake up.” Miroku nudged Kagome awake.
“Wait! Sango!” Kagome yelled as she was startled awake.
“Kagome, calm down. We're at Inuyasha's, Sango's here.” Miroku added.
“Sango's here? Where?” Kagome looked frantically around the room when her eyes landed on Sango, she leapt from the sofa.
“Sango, please, you have to understand. I care for Miroku, I do. But I don't like him they way you do.” Kagome explained.
“Kagome, I'm sorry. But it hurts to know that you and Miroku were that much involved. I trusted you to tell me the truth as a friend, as a sister.” Sango silently added, wrapping her arms around Inuyasha's mid-section.
“Sango, hear this. Yes, Miroku and I did have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship for a while. We were in high school when we shared our kiss. Then in college we met up again, we wanted to experiment, so we became closer. But nothing added to the brotherly/sisterly love we held for each other, that's why nothing became of the bf/gf deal. We ended and became friends. We liked it that way.” Kagome reasoned. Since when did Inuyasha become so supportive of his secretary? Her inner voice stated, somehow she seemed like she was the one who was the mediator of the group.
“Now, all that's explained. I think you have something of mine that belongs to me, Sango.” Miroku silently voice, not knowing, how shaky his voice was.
“And, what's that Miroku?” Sango questioned, unaware of what the answer would be.
“My heart.” Miroku simply stated, before walking over to her little frame, and crashed his mouth on top of hers. When he had his fill, he backed away.
“I've been wanting to do that since, you've started working for Inuyasha.” Miroku breathed out.
The aftermath of the kiss was scorched onto Sango lips, gingerly she licked her mouth, as if she was savoring that last sip of wine.
“Miroku, I never knew you had it in you.” Kagome said grinning like a bob-cat after it had preyed.
“Sango, I like you a lot.” Miroku admitted.
“I'm sorry, Sango, but I thought it was better left unknown.” Kagome sighed knowing that she hadn't lost her friend.
“Hell, if Miroku here keeps kissing me like that, I might forgive you guys for sleeping together.” Sango announced.
“Well, now that this is settled. I'll start cooking. Inuyasha where's your kitchen?”
“Kagome, you don't need to cook. We'll just order pizza or something. Miroku, you think that you could run and get the pizza if I pay for it.” Inuyasha bargained.
“Inuyasha, you got yourself a deal.”
“Now that's settled, I have a bone to pick with you.” He motioned to Kagome. She pointed to herself.
“I'm not sure if I want to know this answer but, is what Sango told me the truth?” Inuyasha mustered.
“What did she say?”
“Well, that you two shared your first kiss together, and what was Sango's wording.. oh yeah, `fuckin deflowered each other?' Is all that true?” Inuyasha questioned.
“Yeah, about that, we did unfortunately do all that.” Kagome rubbed her arm trying to warm it. “Look, I'm sorry, Inu. I'm terrible with these kind of situations, but I really am sorry.”
“That's alright. Why don't you girls go ahead up to your room, Kag, and un-pack while me and Miroku have some man time.” Inuyasha spoke.
“Alright, Miro, you definitely need to explain all this to me. I don't know why, as of the moment. But I'll have an idea soon enough. Now I've thought of this and I really am starting to think that I do like Kagome as of the moments. She can have some moments when she pisses me off, but I do enjoy her company.”
“Yash, you really don't need to know the details. Like we've said, we started hanging out our sophomore year in high school and we liked each other. She didn't know about my little problem until an hour after we met.” Inuyasha sent him a glare. “What can I say, I love the ladies. Yeah, I love her. But not the way you're thinking. We care for each other deeply. That care grew into a love that I didn't know how to voice with Kagome. Well, okay it wasn't that hard. I would always caress her…”
“Okay, I get it now. You guys had a thing going. But what I really want to know is what happened between you two when you guys left high school.”
“Well, Kagome started liking this one ass. I don't know why, but she did. Then Kouga showed up. Remember Kouga? Lawyer, always has a stick up his rear. Well he claimed that they were going out when they were obviously not. She got fed up with him and kneeded him, that was a time I wished I had a camera. And well, after that we graduated I didn't see her until we ended up in the same college.”
“Gotcha, and after that, you yeah.” Inuyasha nodded, ending the conversation with grabbing the car keys and heading out the front door, Miroku in tow.

Sango & Kags

“So, Kagome, I don't mean to come off as a prude, but how was it with Miroku?” Sango asked blushed.
“He wasn't bad, but we had no idea what we were doing. We had problems at first but then, yeah I think you get the picture. And, well, Kouga. Never mind, I don't want to talk about him. He was a mistake to begin with. He always announced to everyone that we were dating when we weren't. I swear if I ever run into him again I swear I'll punch his face in.” Kagome harangued.
“So, Sango, how long have you liked Miroku? I've been dying to know. How many touches to the ass did it take you to realize?”
“I think after the six hundredth grab.” Sango laughed at her own mistake by counting how many slaps she served.
“Hey, Kagome, I know you've only met Inuyasha last night, but how do you feel about him?”
“I'm not positive yet, but when I realize it, you'll be the first to know.”
The scent of pizza drifted through the house, causing rumblings from Kagome and Sango's stomach activated.
“Well, now that we know that there's food down there. We better hurry up before the guys eat all of the pizza. I swear, I don't know how guys can eat all that food and not gain a single pound. But when I gorge myself, I gain like twelve pounds. And when I do, I have to diet for the rest of the week.” Kagome admitted guiltily.
“Come on, eat… be happy. You'll need it if you're going to live here.” Sango laughed.
“Girls, hurry up before we eat this second pizza here.”
They already ate the first pizza? Man. I think I have my work cut out for me. Kagome complained to herself. Running the rest of the way to the living room, she spotted three pizza boxes scattered over the floor, and two boxes of breadsticks. She helped herself to three slices of the meat-lovers pizza and two breadsticks before she was full. Sango grabbed two slices of cheese and one breadstick. The guys finished the rest of the pizzas and breadsticks before they turned in for the night.
“Well, I got to go, and go to sleep before I have to get to work tomorrow.” Miroku and Sango made their way for the front door as Kagome cleaned up after them. She was turning into the kitchen when she dropped a pizza box. Inuyasha snatched it up before it hit the ground.
“All right, I'll see you in the morning you two.” Inuyasha said as the front door was slammed shut.
“Let me help you with that.”
“I think I can manage, since of course I am the hired help.” Kagome grabbed the box out of Inuyasha's had and situated it on top of the breadsticks boxes. She opened the garage door and opened the dumpster with one hand, balancing the rest on the other hand. She dropped them in, and locked the garage door on her way back in.
“Night, Inuyasha. I'm going to bed. I guess I'll start some of the cleaning tomorrow.” Kagome said as she ascended the stairs towards the burgundy room.
“Night Kagome,” Inuyasha silently said, as he made is way towards the gold room. Miroku and Kagome? He mused feeling a little jealous. Miroku was Kagome's first? The thought stuck on his mind as he took a quick bath and readied for bed.
