(A/N): I was thinking that there was going to be alot of fluff starting out, as I brought everyone up to date with happening. That may not be so, or rather, it won't really be considered 'fluff'

"Fox Fire!" the speeding projectle falls to the ground, a harmless sprinkle of ash as Shippo sends a burst of foxfire at it. Yuji nods once, bouncing the pile of nuts in his hand
"your technique is good, but the power behind it is very lacking"
"right, sensei" Shippo nods in agreement, determination set in his features
"I'll have you do some basic youki training everyday from here out, it will help signicantly. Until your youki is up a bit more we'll work on plants-- it requires control that's easier to learn when you have less youki to work with" Shippo's eyes widen in delight
"plants?" Yuji grins, amused at the kit's obvious excitement
"you did want to learn didn't you?" Shippo nods vigorously "you'll be a plant master in time, then! However we will still work on your illusions"
"right, sensei!" Shippo grins happily back.

"Do you know this plant?" Sango raises a questioning brow at the elder youkai, the taijiya was uncertain but figured she was some sort or weasle youkai. She had a basket of plants with her and was in charge of helping Sango learn more about making poisons. Though Sango had been making poisons for years, she felt increasingly amatuer when she couldn't figure out the name of a plant or what it did when the other poison users knew it right away. Some of the plants she'd never even seen. But this one at least she had, her father had even made a stew with the leaves some times before. It was poisonous?
"Yes . . . I know it, but isn't it edible?" the youkai nods sagely
"Yes!" she taps the plants bulbous root "the root and leaves are edible cooked" she nods again slightly pleased "however raw both are poisonous-- but there's not much potential in this plant unless you combine it with something else" she pulls another smaller, leafy plant from the basket, this one with a purple stem and veins "this plant, when mixed with this!" she holds up the larger plant "increases the toxicity and also masks the taste. These are used to poison food and drink, though some have been known to simply coat a blade with the mixture and get a good stab in or rather just toss the concontion down an enemies throat!" she makes an exsagerated throwing motion, before shaking her head "but it's not quick-acting, so you still have to fight a bit if it's used in battle. If it's used to take someone out" she cuts her throat with a motion "you don't have to worry about that!" she sets both over beside the basket pulling out a plant with tiny white flowers "the antidote is alot more complicated!" she grins flashing a row of sharp teeth ""the antidote is more complicated, less fun, especially if you know you've been poisoned and you need to make it in time. You'll learn of course, but if you have trouble with any of this I'm sure that fox after you can help! A handsome one that boy!" she's obviously amused
"After me?" the taijiya gives the youkai a questioning look, which she returns
"Surely you noticed!? You're a Taijiya, you must know something of youkai behavior!?" Sango shakes her head
"yes of course I do, but Yuji-san has not seemed . . .threatening in any way towards me, rather--"
"oh, no no no, not that way!" she pats her knees enthusiastically "romantically! Surely you've noticed? He is quiet noticable and . . . incredibly cute about it" Sango blushes darkly
"I . . . I did not know, I thought perhaps he was being so nice to appologize for treating me as if I was weak" Sango tugs her ponytail over her shoulder, embarrassed "he's . . . after me that way you say? This is a youkai thing?" The woman nods vigorously
"yes yes of course-- he's been bringing gifts, staying close to you often, acting submissive" the woman wiggles her dusty brown eyebrows "he's courting you and he doesn't think you weak at all!" Sango's blush darkens, she tugs on her ponytail helplessly
"What . . . do I do?" the youkai shrugs lightly
"you receive his attentions, if you decide you like them and would consider him a good prospect for mating you take him to your pack leader, guardian, the head of your family" she gestures to nothing in particular "In your case that would be Inuyasha-sama or Sesshoumaru-sama" she nods "If he was going for the dominant role in a mating pair he'd challenge the guardian in a fight" Sango's eyes widen worriedly "--but he's not, so I suppose he would have to then get permission from the family head, Sesshoumaru-sama" Sango sighs lightly
"And if he gets that?" the woman raises a eyebrow, a knowing smile on her thin lips
"Since he displayed ability to provide, and the role he'd fill in the mating pair he wouldn't have to after getting permission-- if he would have simply asked you for your hand, that would have been something he'd need to display" she nods "after receiving permission to mate you-- the mating ritual!" she smiles widely "of course a trial period together is also an option, but no one really does that anymore" she raises a finger, her claws thick and almost an inch long "however, since you know as little as you do I'd ask a knowledgable youkai about what mating intails-- or perhaps Inuyasha-sama's mate, youkai/youkai mating and youkai/human mating differ in many big ways" she nods finally, patting her knees
"now-- enough of this talk! the antidote!"

"ah, Rin-sama, the sentence is: "I am happy to see you"
"But I is not happy to see you, Rin is happy to see you"
"ah, I'll exsplain-- I is a substitute fo--"
"a stubitute? Like Jakken-sama?" the girl tilts her head cutely

Closing the door softly, an amused glint in his eye, Sesshoumaru makes his way towards the back sections of the estate, the wing where the army was housed and trained. After counting the losses of the battle with Naraku, it was evident that the West's army-- the largest in youkai or human Japan, was not so any longer. He'd immedietly sent his general to recruit new warriors, and now they needed training. As it were, the new warriors were all considerably-- and it seemed Reika was particular to the type, cocky. He frowns inwardly, he didn't care at all for the warriors the bat youkai recruited as a rule. The fact was, however, that since she had replaced the last general-- a wolf youkai who'd worked for his father, they'd never lost a battle that they'd not gone back and won and losing was kept a rare thing. Dismissing the thoughts he enters the wing, glancing around with a critical eye, the first part of the wing accessible from the other parts of the castle were one of two halls--everything built sturdier in this part of the castle, that displayed the previous generals who had served the various lords of the castle. His father's and grandfathers lengthy terms left the hall decidedly bare but the painting were there, six total, four males and two female youkai. He bypasses them, having seen them many times. A passing glance at the last painting, the only other female general beside's the lynx who'd served under his father.
He continues on, the noise from the training area located out behind the castle increases. He makes his way there, at the same time inspecting the upkeep of the wing, with every intent to observe the ranks and perhaps put a few upstart recruits in their place.
