Chapter 1: Love

 

 

It was a cold bleak day as InuYasha sat next to the Bone Eaters Well waiting for Kagome. “Where is that woman?!” he muttered to him self as he started pacing. He was becoming more and more nervous, and very quickly, she was supposed to be back two days ago! He wanted to tell her something important, nay needed to tell her that something. He had been waiting for the right moment for about six months now, and couldn't wait any longer. He was now pacing about a hundred yards from the well muttering about stupid mikos and wenches.

 

“INUYASHA!” an excited familiar voice yelled. He spun around and grind and sighed, she was back. He grinned and waved to her as he trotted up to her.

 

“What took you so long?!! YOUR TWO DAYS LATE!!””

 

“Sit! Sit! SIT!!” An InuYasha shaped crater is made. “I see you happy to see me.” She mutters under her breath “Stupid hanyou.” And then she apologizes. “I'm sorry for using the `s' word on you InuYasha. And as for why I'm late…my brother got sick and mama need my help.” She helps him up and he scowls up at her, she just smiled. He sighed as he calmed down looking at that smile, it always calmed him down. She hefted her large, heavy backpack with a grunt and groan of aggravation.

 

“Let me take that Kagome.” InuYasha said. She smiled and handed it over with a smile and sigh of relief.

 

“Where are the other InuYasha?” she asked as she looked around for Shippo, Miroku, and Sango.

 

“They are waiting at Lady Keade's village Kagome” he responded. He takes up a minor limp. “I hope you don't mind if we go slow Kagome.”

 

“Are…you ok?” she asked a little concerned about him.

 

“I'm fine….” He sighs knowing how lame this will sound but it's been weighing on his mind and he need to tell her. He starts walking normally. “…Kagome…” he sighs. “….I have something I need to tell you.”

 

They had started walking to the village. After a few minutes of walking in silence Kagome asked “InuYasha, what do you have to tell me?” She looks at him out of the corner of her eye and sees him sigh.

 

After another moment of silence he blurts it out “I…I love you Kagome!!!”

 

She stopped walking as he walked on ahead a few paces before realizing she had stopped and turned to face her. “Kagome? Are you ok?” She nodded with a look of surprise and tears where running down her cheeks. A moment later she was running at InuYasha, her long black hair flowing out behind her. When she was close enough she jumped at him, her arms going around his neck, the force of her hitting him so unexpecedly caused him to fall on his back. Because she had a hold of him, she fell on his chest. She hugged her self as close as she could and started placing small soft kisses all over his face and ears. When she stopped so she could breath, he looked up at her eyes and asked in a soft voice “Kagome…?” To say he was a bit surprised would have been an understatement.

 

She sighed “Oh InuYasha! I love you too!” she proceeded to run her fingers thru his long, soft, silver hair and she sighed again. Mentally he was thinking to himself “is this really happening? Does she really love me?” They laid like this, looking into each others eyes for a long time. During this time they where looking at each others thoughts and he realized that she was being serious.

“Oi, wench! How can you love a hanyou like me?” Before she could respond they both heard someone clear their thought. They looked up and saw Sango and Miroku standing about 20 feet from them, Kagome blushed a deep red, and at the same time InuYasha pushed her off of him.

 

The monk was leaning against his stave and smiling as he asked “Sorry did we interrupt something important?”

 

InuYasha jumped up and growled in his and Kaogme's defense “WHATS IT TO YOU MONK?!” he yelled.

 

“SIT! SIT! SIT!” Kagome yelled and making another crater shaped like InuYasha. And then looks up at her two friends. “Yes Miroku, you and Sango did interrupt us.” She's blushing such a deep red that it rivals the color of InuYaha's firerat hatori.

 

Sango, the demon slayer dressed in her armor was leaning up against her oversized boomerang and blushed. “Sorry Kagome, we didn't mean to...” She was quite for a moment and then continued. “When you and InuYasha hadn't shown up we got nervous and decided to look for you….And we found you two looking at each other like love struck puppies!” she started to chuckle. “We can see your ok, so that good.”

 

InuYasha groaned and stretched and then he turned to Kagome. “Why did you have to use that word again Kagome? You know how much it hurts me!” He gave her a smile private smile to let her know that he really was ok.

 

Miroku smiled and placed a hand on Sango's ass and says “lets go my Sango, I think these two…love birds..” he chuckles before continuing. “….Need more private time.” His hand gently squeezes the cheek his hand on.

 

Sango's head goes down and becomes dark blue/black in rage and then slaps him hard across his face. “HENTAI!!!” she yells at him. She was blushing a light pink across her face as she hit him. She really DID like it when he did that, but she couldn't allow it. Miroku sighed and rubbed his face as he followed a good distance behind Sango as they went back to the village.

 

Kagome walked of to her boyfriend…no that wasn't right…to her hanyou lover. She giggled. She started to rub his shoulders as she whispered “I'm sorry Inu-chan.”

 

He leaned into her hands and sighed. “Its ok Kagome.” After a few minutes he stood up and held out his hand. She took it and then she too stood. He hugged her close “So…what now? Stay here a bit longer or go to the village?”

 

“Well….first…” She stood on her tip toes as she gently kissed his lips, they both blush bright red, and then to Kagome's surprise he returned the gentle kiss. After they broke the kiss she looked up at him. “Secondly, do you want the truth about what we should do? Or what I think we should do?”

 

“What would be the right thing to do?” he asked back.

 

“We should get going to the village so we can say high to every one, and that way they will all know we are ok” She smiled as InuYasha grabbed her bag and then picked her up.

 

Once he had a strong but gentle grip on her he took off running as fast as he could. She had started to laugh. That changed when they go to the trees and he started jumping form one tree to the next at top speed. “HEY YOU!!” She giggled but to make sure she wouldn't fall she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.

Latter that night, after he had made sure every one was asleep, InuYasha had gone to the near by river to look up at the full moon and stare at its silvery reflection off the rippling water. He thought of Kagome as he looked at the water, of her beauty , of her scent and sighed. He jumped and spun around ready to fight when he felt a hand rest on his shoulder. Mentally he scolded him self for not hearing the person or whatever approach him. Then he saw it was Kagome. “Oi, wench!! Don't do that!!” He yelled at her. He then relaxed. “I'm sorry Kagome, I didn't mean to yell at you.”

 

She had been scared for a moment, and he saw that, but he also saw that ear go away when he relaxed. She then gently touched his cheek. “I'm sorry for scaring you Inu-chan” she said. “And I forgive you.” She went and sat on the grassy bank and looks out over the river. “Its romantic here to night InuYasha” she stated quietly .

 

This sent InuYasha in to shock all over again. “I…I have never seen this side of her before, What's she doing? Why is she doing it?” These thoughts and more went racing thru his head for only a moment before he sighed and cat beside her. He decided to play her game to see where it was going. “Yes it is.” He responded., he slowly put his arm around her shoulders. They sat there drinking in the scene; the full moon shining and reflecting off the water, the stars shining as bright as they could, and the crickets chirping all around them. The sound is calming and beautiful and before he knew it Kagome was leaning up against him with a smile on her face. A few minutes latter he recognized the slow, deep breathing of her sleeping and smiles as he covers her in his jacket and then takes her back to the hut and to her sleeping bag. He tucks her in and lays close to her. And then he him self goes to sleep.

Early the next morning he was woken up by a soft but incessant kiss. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Kagome kneeling next to him smiling. “You could have joined me in the sleeping bag you know” she said with a warm smile.

 

“It was nice just being this close to you my love” he responed with a warm smile of his own. He stood up and held out his hand for Kagome to help her up.

 

“Tanks!!” She responded in a happy and playful way.

 

As they made their way to the eating area of the hut InuYasha asks “Kagome, how long will you be here in this time for?”

 

“I don't know InuYasha, a week at most I guess, why?” She looks up at him confused.

 

Seeing everyone in the dining area he shrugs. “Just wondering.””

 

”InuYasha! What's going on? Why won't you tell me the point of that last question?” She upset at him now.

 

He blushes and responds “Because this is not the time or place to talk about…certain things Kagome.”

 

Every one overheard this conversation and share knowing smiles and looks with each other. Kagome grabs her hanyou lover's ear and drags him off.

 

“KAGOMMMEEE LAET ME GOOO!!!” he yelled. Once they reached the river she let go of his ear which he instantly started to rub. “That hurt!”

 

He was still rubbing his ear and whining when she sat on the grassy bank. “Ok my hanyou lover, now that we are away from every one…..talk!”

 

He sat on the bank about 6 feet from her so she wouldn't be able to grab his ears and over looked the water for a while. “I don't want you to be hurt Kagome. The next time you go home, I'm coming with you. You mean too much to me, I don't want to lose you.” They where both quite for a long time, looking at the villagers picking rice and in boats using hand thrown fishing nets. Then he continued in a whisper she could barely hear. “I want you to be my mate when your ready……I want us to be together forever.”

 

Another long silence followed as Kagome processed all this. The Sky looked bright, in fact all the colors seemed sharper somehow. She had a hard time believing that her hanyou lover and said that to her. AS she thought about it, tears of joy started running down her cheeks. In a voice thick with emotion she said “If that was your way of asking me if I'd marry you then me response is `Yes! Yes! YES!!” She threw herself at him and hugged him closely. The force of her hitting him caused them to both tumble down the steep, grassy bank and into the river. As she stood up InuYasha looked up at her laughing and then blushes. He can see the flesh of her breasts thru he soaked whit shirt and white bra, her skirt was plastered to her legs.

 

“Kagome….you ummmm…” he blushes “…need to change. I can see you…br…breas……flesh.”

 

She looks down at her self and blushes and gets wetter between her legs, this time it doesn't have to do wit the river. As she's looking down she sees the bulge of his hardening member in his pants and blushes even more, of course seeing him like this makes her hornier as well. Then looking him in the eyes she said, “Looks like you need to change as well InuYasha.” She sat down straddling his chest and kisses him softly and whispered “Your friend lookes like it needs to play.” She was now blushing the color of his firerat hatori.

 

Blushing a bright red InuYasha stutters “w…we…sho…should get dried off b…before we go back to everyone.” Within a few moments he had a good sized fire going. Once the fire was blazing he handed her his hatori. “Put your shirt, skirt and under things on those rocks.” He points to some rocks close to the fire. “Then put the haotri on to stay warm.” InuYasha then sat near the fire so his pants would dry as Kagome followed InuYasha's orders.

 

As they sat around the fire enjoying its warmth InuYasha's ears perked up as he heard sticks snapping close by, he also caught the familiar scent. It's her, the smell of death and wild flowers. “Ill be back soon Kagome, I need to…deal with something.” As he trotted off thru the woods, he was muttering to him self “what does she want this time?” A few minutes latter he ran into her. “Kikyo! What are you doing here? What do you want?!” he asked.

 

“I want my soul back from that wench you travel with InuYasha!!” Her bow is over her shoulder and the quiver of arrows is across her back. “Do you still hat me for what I did to you fifty years ago? Are you still mad at me even though it was no my fault?! Why won't you let me take my soul back?”

 

“No Kikyo, I don't hate you and I'm not mad….but your dead, I can't love the dead body of a woman who was once truly alive. And just so you know, Kagome is not a wench!! She may have your soul but she's not like you at all!! In some ways she's better, in others she worse. She can't shoot the bow as well as you where able to, but she can sense demons and Shikon-No-Tama shards better than you could…..she also purifies the shards with just a touch. “She may get mad at me sometimes but…Kikyo, we've admitted our love for each other, which you and I never did. Oh I know you loved me….for the protection I gave you from the demons that sought you out!! Now leave us or I shall treat you as any other demon that crosses our path!”

 

With a sad smile Kikyo stood on her toes and kissed him deeply. For a moment he's surprised and then he returns the kiss, just not as deeply. “Now go, before Kagome comes to see what I'm up too.” Little did they know Kagome saw and heard everything. When InuYasha got back to the camp Kagome was gone, the fire was out and his hatori was in the river, again. As he picked up his hatori he wondered what was going on. When he got to Lady Keade's hut every one was quiet and sitting in a circle outside, they where all facing the fire in the middle. “ Hey everyone….Have any of you seen Kagome?” They all nodded. “Well…? Where is she?”

 

Sango Stood up and walked to him and then slapped him hard. “She went home because of what you did!!” she yelled.

 

“What did I do?” he asked confused.

 

“She saw you romantically kiss Kikyo's `dead' body InuYasha!! Apparently you're still deeply in love with her.”

 

InuYasha's ears sag and he slumped to the ground. “That kiss meant nothing to me, I felt no emotion when I gave it.” He sighs. “I kissed her one last time to say good-by….but I guess Kagome followed me and saw the kiss the Kikyo gave me.” He looked up. “I loved Kagome more the I ever loved Kikyo.” He started to cry, his head buried in his hand, his hands resting on his bent up knees. Sango looked at Miroku as she sat by the crying hanyou and tried to comfort him.

 

“InuYasha, she left here ten minutes ago, the well is thirty minutes away. With your speed you could catch up to her in no time and explain what happened. Sort of like you did with us. I'm sure shed forgive you once she knew your side of the story.” Everyone else nodded their agreement.

 

“Do you really think so?” he sniffed.

 

“Yes I really do InuYasha.” Sango replied.

 

He stood up sniffing while straitening his cloths and then he gave one sharp nod. “Thanks everyone. Ill be back at some point!” He took off running thru the threes to catch up to Kagome. After about five minutes of running he saw her jumped up into the trees and called down to her. “Kagome? Please stop, I want to talk to you. You misunderstood what you saw. Please can we talk?”

 

She didn't listen to his words and started saying “Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit!” loud enough for him to hear. He hit the ground hard and made a very large hole in the ground.

 

He slowly got up and followed her brushing off the pain. Even though he knew she wasn't really listing to him he decided to explain anyway. “The kiss you saw, it meant nothing to me!! When I kissed her back I felt nothing for her except hatred. I love you more then I ever loved that `living dead' woman!! I CANT STAND HER!!! I love you and want to be with you.” His words made her teary eyed, but she had already decided to leave for a while and she didn't want to see how weak she was, crying like this. He sighed as he watched her jump into the well. He very, very slowly made his way back to Keade's hut.

 

Once he got there he sat down, back to an outside wall, and looked into the fire that was in front of the hut for about an hour. He started to cry, long deep hard sobs that sounded like he was howling. The little one tailed kitsune InuYasha called “runt”, saw him crying and went up to him. “InuYasha? Are you ok?” Shippo asked. He was very concerned, he had never seen such a strong hanyou cry like this before. And InuYasha cry?....forget it that never happened….well maybe not never, but still! InuYasha, still crying, shook his head no that he was not ok. Shippo frowned and sat nest to him. He held onto his tail as he thought about Kagome.

Hey everyone, this is my first Fanfic, I would appreciate reviews!

 

This is a multi chaptered story. I'm still working on the second one, have been for over 3 weeks now ::blush:: but it's almost done!
